Hey, everyone!
Welcome back to
Speak English Daily
I'm Emma.
If you are watching this right now,
I want you to do one thing:
Speak out loud.
Not in your head. Not later. Right now. Out loud.
Here is something most English learners never hear:
Speaking is a physical skill.
Your mouth needs training,
Not just your brain.
And that is exactly what we are going to do today —
Together.
In this video, I will say real English sentences.
And your only job is to repeat them with me.
That is it.
No grammar rules. No translation. Just speak.
Don't worry if your accent is not perfect.
Don't worry if you make mistakes.
The goal is to move your mouth, build the rhythm
And feel more natural every single time you practice.
This is day 1 of your 30-day shadowing journey.
Let's begin!
Before we dive in, let me quickly explain how this works.
The technique we are using is called shadowing.
Professional language coaches, interpreters
And even actors use it.
And today, you are going to use it too.
Here is how it works:
I say the sentence.
Then I pause.
That pause is your moment.
Repeat the sentence out loud.
Copy the rhythm.
Copy the sound.
We will practice each sentence together.
Ready?
Let's warm up first!
All right, let's wake your mouth up!
These sentences are short and positive.
Say them like you mean them:
Nice and clear.
Nice work!
Five sentences out loud.
Your mouth is warming up!
Let's try those sentences again
A little smoother this time.
Ready?
Hear that? Smoother already!
That is progress. Keep going!
Now let's move into something
you will actually use every single day.
These are short responses—
The kind of things native speakers say all the time.
At work, with friends,
in meetings.
This time, listen to the rhythm before you repeat.
I'll give you a quick coaching tip on the tricky ones.
Sentence 6:
Someone spoke too fast and you didn't catch it.
Listen to the rhythm. The voice drops at the end -
"Say it again?"
goes down, not up.
Sentence 7: You need a second to think.
Short and confident. Two separate thoughts.
Pause slightly between them.
Sentence 8: Someone asks you a good question.
Sentence 9:
You're not sure yet,
but you handle it professionally.
The keyword is "but." Say it with a slight rise.
It shows confidence,
Sentence 10:
Someone proposes an idea and you love it.
Those five phrases—keep them!
They will save you in real conversations.
One more time through — faster, more natural.
No coaching this time.
Just go.
You're already halfway through today's practice,
And you're doing great!
Keep going!
You've finished the first half of your 20 sentences.
Now let's use them in context.
This is a bonus
conversation round—
Not part of the 20 sentences.
I'll speak each line and you repeat it out loud.
The goal is to feel how real English flows
From one line to the next.
Focus on the sound
of each sentence.
Copy the rhythm. That is what sounds natural.
How about you? Did you relax or were you busy?
How about_ you?_ Did you_ relax_ or were you_ busy?
How about you? Did you relax or were you busy?
How about you? Did you relax or were you busy?
That right there is a Monday morning conversation.
The kind that happens every week.
Now you are ready for it!
Now let's put you in a real situation.
It is Monday morning. You walk into the office.
A colleague comes up to you
And you need to have a quick
professional conversation.
I want you to be that person.
Say these sentences as if YOU are the one at work right now.
Sentence 11: Opening.
Start with energy.
"Good morning"— should sound warm, not flat.
11. Good morning! How's everything going today?
11. Good morning!_ How's everything_ going today?
11. Good morning! How's everything going today?
11. Good morning! How's everything going today?
Sentence 12:
Giving an update.
12. I was working on a report yesterday.
12. I was_ working_ on a report_ yesterday.
12. I was working on a report yesterday.
12. I was working on a report yesterday.
Sentence 13:
Showing progress.
This is a longer sentence—
Two parts — take a natural breath after "finished".
13. I'm almost finished, but I need to check a few details.
13. I'm almost_ finished_ but I need_ to check_ a few_ details.
13. I'm almost finished, but I need to check a few details.
13. I'm almost finished, but I need to check a few details.
Sentence 14:
Making a request.
Keep it polite and light.
The voice should go up slightly on "afternoon"—
It's a question.
14. Could we discuss it later this afternoon?
14. Could we_ discuss it_ later_ this afternoon?
14. Could we discuss it later this afternoon?
14. Could we discuss it later this afternoon?
Notice something.
Those four sentences told a complete story:
A greeting, an update,
A status, and a next step.
That is real professional English!
You just spoke like a professional.
Remember that feeling.
Let's see if you can keep up with me.
This is my favorite part—the fluency round!
We're gonna say five sentences,
a little faster this time.
The goal is not perfection.
The goal is momentum. Speak without stopping.
Ready?
Here we go! Fast and confident!
15. I'm working on it
right now.
15. I'm working_ on it_
right_ now.
15. I'm working on it
right now.
15. I'm working on it

to you_ later.

20. Just give me a moment to check.
20. Just give_ me_ a moment_ to check.
20. Just give me a moment to check.
20. Just give me a moment to check.
Yes! That is what a fluency practice feels like!
You should feel a little out of breath.
That is a good sign!
Now let's try those sentences
at natural conversation speed.
No rush — just smooth
and confident.
15. I'm working on it
right now.
15. I'm working on it
right now.
16. Let me get back to you later.
16. Let me get back to you later.

20. Just give me a
moment to check.
And that is Day 1.
want you to take a second
and think about what you just did.
You warmed up your mouth. You practiced real responses.
You had a full conversation.
You spoke like a professional.
And you finished with a fluency round.
That is not nothing.
That is real practice!
Now here is your task:
Go to the comment section and type "Day 1 Done!"
That small action
tells your brain:
I showed up.
I completed something.
I am serious about this.
And if you want to take it further.
Replay this video one more time.
The second round is always faster.
You will surprise yourself!
Tomorrow—in Day 2.
We will continue with new vocabulary, a new situation
And a longer conversation.
It gets better every day.
Keep speaking. Keep showing up. Keep practicing.
I'll see you tomorrow
— in Day 2.
