From his very first film, Hopkins proved
himself. Couldn't believe a baker's son
was making a movie with Katherine Hburn.
She told him he was good.

Leah made him understand how much he had
hurt his own daughter Abigail, who he
walked out on when she was one, and he
was in the depths of alcoholism. He
didn't want to talk about her in our
interview. In the book, he calls their
ongoing arangement a tremendous source
of pain that broke his heart.

More recently, he's had to come to terms
with losing his LA home in the fires
earlier this year. We lost the two
pianos and fire. They're all under the
rubble. So, I play every day. Got to
enjoy life.

Looking back to that photograph, I look
back now at that little confused by and

okay."
