What inspired you to become a singer?
I, uh, I think a lot of what inspires me to kind of keep going and make music, um
is just how much fun I'm having and like, it's such a dream come true for me to kind of
be doing what I do and like making music full-time,
and it's so much fun and so it's a dream come true.
I, I wanna be able to do this for a living for the rest of my life.
So that's what inspires me.
It's how much fun it is.
What do you like to eat before stepping out on the stage?
That's a great question.
I, uh, I actually don't usually eat before a show.
I don't know why, but it's just never been a thing that I do.
Um, and then typically when I'm on tour, like, I try and find kind of
the healthiest thing I can, cause I'm not a big fan of eating
kind of like a big meal at like
I don't know, midnight or one in the morning after a show.
So, um,
In the hip-hop world, who do you look up to?
That's a really great question.
I don't think I have a favorite hip-hop artist,
or, or one that I'm like
super duper inspired by,
but, um,
I really, really love, uh, what Kanye West has done.
I think his, his melodies and his productions are really good.
I think it's very kind of like classic,
like very, like, old school,
but like, the new age as well.
I'm always a big fan of the classics.
I love kind of, uh, what the Fugees did.
I love Lauren Hill's solo record.
That was phenomenal.
So, yeah, that's what's up.
What is one of the most valuable life lessons you have learned,
and how did you learn it?
I think for me it's been something about like learning to be patient
and understand that good things don't always happen overnight.
Um, and that's something that I learned just kinda working on music.
Um, you know, when I first started out, it was just like, you know,
I was just making songs in my basement and like posting them on Myspace.
And then, uh, I kinda just assumed it would blow up overnight.
And that's not how it works.
And so, um, I think that's why it's been such a gift to me,
is cuz I've kinda learned about like that whole process of like,
it takes a lot of time and a lot of patience to just kinda
build up to something big.
So yeah, that's what's up.
How do you think of the songs? Where do they originate from?
That's also a great question.
Um, I think for me, I, I really believe inspiration can be anywhere.
I think it can, it can be the smallest, most trivial thing,
or it can be kind of the biggest thing ever.
Um, for me, I feel like a lot of what inspires me to kind of write songs
is just how excited I am to be making music in the first place.
I think a lot of times, like, my heart is just in a good place,
and I just like start creating music.
And then the more I kind of think about it and just think about kind of
how much joy it brings me to kind of be making music and like, do what I do.
That's kind of what I try and put into the songs.
So it's a lot of like kind of fun and light-heartedness.
