Every time I do one of these videos it always feels so weird to me to be on the Sephora website and be like oh
this is low rated and
$62.00? Great, add that to the cart. But I feel like some of these products need a second chance and an opportunity
to redeem themselves. So hopefully I have a good experience with all of these and I don't
end up with like, a lip pencil in my mouth.
See the last one for details. Hello everyone! I am here today to share with you guys a full face of makeup
testing out some products that aren't
rated the best on the Sephora website. And you will note the title change because Youtube does not like the word
"worst", and
will flag my video. I feel like this is a chance for me to like actually
test these all out and see if they're worth the rating, if they deserve a better rating or they really are
this pile of *censor*.
And as with all my videos in
February I'm going to be doing a giveaway and this is what we're gonna be giving away today and
because we're doing like a bigger giveaway there's like more makeup in this one than some of the other ones that i've been doing, I
wanted to do something a little bit different than just asking you guys a question.
So number one, you need to be subscribed to this channel and number two, because I was sort of clearing up my makeup vanity
space a little bit see the vlog
from, I think it was last last Saturday, for more details on the anxiety that causes me. So in the process of doing that it
kind of got me thinking like, where do you guys do your makeup? How do you organize
it? Do you have it in a makeup bag on the floor in front of a mirror? Do you have it like in your bathroom?
Do you have a desk for it? Like what do you guys do? So this time around I want you to send me a picture
with this hashtag
right here and it could be on Instagram it could be on Twitter, Facebook, whatever you have, and
be subscribed to this channel and that's all you need to do to enter this particular giveaway. And don't forget
to subscribe, so you don't miss out on new videos every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. And without further ado, let's get into this.
So we're gonna start with an eye primer and I've actually used this one before and I'm not gonna lie
to you it's because I had entirely forgotten to buy an eye primer. But fortunately, I have one that's terribly rated. And this is the
Sephora Tinted & Cooling Eye Primer. I have here the Matte Beige Pink, and
people have been just saying their eyeshadow isn't popping, it's creasing by the end of the day, and all of the eyeshadow is also fading.
I have found this to be fine, like it's not
my favorite eye primer in the world, but it's not terrible either. And it is both
tinted and also cooling. I wasn't sure about the whole like cooling aspect of it but like dang, like this does feel really nice in the
summer time. Next up is an eyeshadow palette, this comes from It Cosmetics is they're Naturally Pretty Essentials Matte Luxe
Transforming Eyeshadows, and what these are supposed to do is start out matte and then transform to more of a
satiny finish. Like I don't know why you would buy a matte palette and be like, "I hope this turns
into something more sparkly!" But in any case, people have been saying that the formula is just very dry, there's no
pigmentation. The packaging though is
super cute. It's got this whole like rose gold thing, very like cushy. So these are the shades right here and
just
in first glance, like all of these shades
look very
similar. Like there's no change in depth at all just the undertone's slightly different so it's just like a bunch of really light shadows and
then two really dark ones. There's no
mid-tone, no transition at all. And wait, hold on. It says to transform any of the matte shades into a radiant satin shade, first dip
It into the matte shade and then dip it into the shimmer shade and then apply to your eye. You want something to be matte
on the brow bone but you want that same shade on your lid, maybe you want to make a little bit more shimmery.
Ion know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The option's there. That right there at the top is the shimmery shade and then the two matte shades below it. I don't think
I'm gonna be able to tell a huge difference once I apply it to my face
between the really matte and a satin matte but, whatever. We'll try it. So we're gonna start with a shade
Passion this shade right here, and I'm going to keep it matte and just apply it to the crease. I'm gonna try Dream and
try and put that on top and just see if that
does anything? I don't think it's that the eye shadows aren't
pigmented, I think that the shades are just too light, they need to have some
medium tones in here, otherwise it's not a very usable
palette for people. It doesn't look like I applied anything to my eyes yet. I'm gonna use intrigue and I'm going
to apply that sort of, to the outer
corner. That shade is very very pretty, it's just there's no
mid-tone. I think that's the only thing that I have an issue with so far from this palette is
It's just really light and really dark there's no in-between. Let's see how well this
dark shade sort of blends out. I feel like i just dusted off a whole bunch of pigment, is that just me? Alright this may
be a little bit more difficult than I thought to blend. Alright so that is the look that I came with
I'm gonna be honest I used that shimmery shade mixed in with the matte shade on my lid,
I didn't notice a huge difference, it's just not
shimmery enough to balance out the matte to
notice a difference on my eyes. And moving on to the next one, this is a liner from Sephora as I take it out of
its package. This is the Sephora Stylographic
Dramatic Line Full Intense Felt Liner and it is waterproof, and people are saying that it swatched really well in the store but once you
put it on your eye, one person described it as, "dragging a wet twig
across your lid". So this makes me very excited
to put this near my eyeball. You can see that it's kind of shaped like a flame so they're saying use the
very tip of it and use that against the lash line and then the thicker edge to create more of a dramatic cat eye effect.
There's definitely not a lot of product in this and it's almost like grey, not super black. It's like using an
almost dried up marker on your lids and I just, I can't get enough pigmentation and I'm not even done one eye yet.
Come on liner you're almost there, you can do it!
Do you see that?
There's like nothing coming out of it. You can make one almost black and one grey! Yeah this does not even deserve the
One-and-a-quarter stars that it currently has. This is garbage!
So an update on my line before I try and clean it up with a powder and make them, make them even,
like I'm not getting anything. It's dragging over it's
removing the product as i try to apply it. So now I'm just gonna try and take this like bluey black shade here and just,
attempt to make it like, you know, doable. Okay, that seems to be making a slight bit of difference.
Thank goodness. Like I don't want my eye look to look that bad this close to the beginning of the video.
Alright, now that those wings are somewhat even, we're gonna go on to the mascara. And today I'm going
to be testing out one from Givenchy. This is their Noir Couture
Volume Waterproof Extreme Volume Mascara. And it says here it's going
to give an intense lash look with lots of volume,
perfect definition, and there's only one review on this one, it's two stars and they say that it's just not
worth the price that you're paying for it, the formula is a little clumpy,
noticing fallout under the eyes and on the lids. So that's one coat on the eyes and the formula is very
dry. Like I feel like I'm gonna get three uses out of this and then it's going to be
completely unusable. I am getting some fallout on my eyelids but that's pretty normal for me, that happens with a lot of mascaras.
but like it's not ~wowing~ me in any way, like I'm not seeing
extreme volume by any standard. Now on to the brows and today we're gonna be testing out the It Cosmetics
Brow Power Super Skinny All Day Waterproof
Universal Brow Penci...that is a mouthful. In terms of what people are saying as to why it isn't
rated 5 stars here... Alright it seems like people are just saying that it runs out in less than a month. Like how much product
is actually like in here? WOW
Do you see that? That just came right out and that is all the product that you get. And this is like 30 bucks! Like
are you kidding me? Let's just
fit that back in there then. We'll put it in my brows anyway but it'll be done by the time I get
To brow two. Like honestly it's not
even that great of a pencil. It's definitely not giving me those nice little brow strokes, it's more just like
smudging in. I do really like the color though, the color isn't too warm not too cool, it's just a nice in-between
so "Universal", I feel like they probably got that right but like, that is like an
embarrassing small amount of product. All right now we're moving on to the face and we're gonna start with this Natasha Denona Prime
Lifting Primer. It is an anti-aging
serum and primer in one. It says here on the Sephora website that it's going
to increase the lasting power of your foundation, it's going to leave a semi matte finish, and it's going
to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. And people seem to be like all over the place with their reviews of this.
Some people really love it and other people, they're like, "No thank you please."
Apparently it has like weird beads and stuff in it that sit on your face...
That doesn't sound good. It looks like this, and let's see about this texture thing. So it's a very thin, kind of milky consistency- OH
It does have beads in it! That's kind of weird. Alright well let's see if by massaging it into the skin it like
eliminates that
graininess. That's bizarre it's almost like grains of sand. I think it's smoothed out now, I don't
feel any like beads and stuff on there. I don't know what would make you think
when you're actually like testing this product before launching it, being like, "Hmm weird grainy texture and we don't talk about it in
the how to apply?
Yeah let's do it. Let's make it a surprise!" For foundation today we are going to be using the one from Burberry, this is their
Bright
Glow Foundation and interestingly enough there's only two reviews on this foundation one is five-star and one is
One-star. *GASP* DRAMA
So the five-star one says it is one of Burberry's best foundations if you can basically find the shade that you're looking for.
It's fuller coverage than a bb cream, it's buildable, it
looks really nice on the skin, like this person is obsessed with that one. But it does oxidize a little bit, so that's good to
know because this one is looking a little bit light for me. And the person who rated a one-star says it's extremely
yellow, I guess they bought the same
like shade number as in another foundation that Burberry also has but it was too yellow. This person rated it a
one-star because they bought the wrong color? Do you know how many one-stars I could give because *I* bought the wrong color?
That is my doing, not the foundation. It's not really really
high coverage for sure. I do feel like I'm using a lot of this though. It's very smooth, it's very light, it doesn't have a scent
to it. It is definitely oxidizing on my skin, it's almost a little too dark now,
but I can fix that with a little neck bronze as I would normally do anyway. But in terms of the
consistency and what it looks like on the skin, like it's really pretty. A nice
medium coverage; you can still see your skin through it, it's not going to cover
everything, but it makes everything look even. Now onto concealer and I'm going to be using the Milk Makeup concealer. It is rated a
Three and a half star, it was the lowest rated one of ones I haven't actually tried myself. It has proprietary
milk melt
technology...that sounds disgusting. Basically it has a bunch of ingredients in it that are gonna promote
brightness under the eyes, depuff, and smoother look of skin, provides medium coverage. It seems people feel like it's a little bit thick of
a consistency, and then one person says it's very dry and it pills under the eyes. The color seems to be like a good match for
my under eye area.
It's definitely not full coverage, I feel like on days where I am experiencing a lot of
dark under-eye circles it's not gonna cover that very well, but it seems to be doing like a pretty pretty good job right now
It does feel
heavier though, I feel like once i set this it's going to look very
very thick under my eye area, but we'll see. Next up we're actually gonna go in with a
blush, and this is sort of like a like a shimmery blush stick, this is from Bite Beauty it's their
Prismatic Multi Stick and it's one of the few products I haven't tested yet
that wasn't really well rated, and it seems based on the reviews that people,
when they apply it to the eyes, it has too much slip
to it and it just ends up creasing really really easily
But it,
I don't see a lot of like, negative reviews for applying it to the face. So the color I have is Pink Pearl so we're gonna
be using that one today. I'm just gonna draw it on
Ooooo
That is a nice sheen. It's definitely not very like blushy though, it definitely has a lot of slip which is great for blending
it out, I don't know how
well this is gonna dry and what this is gonna look like once I set my face, but the color is really pretty
More I would say I would use this as a highlight than an actual blush, but you know what? It's about
experimenting. So now we're gonna go on to a stick highlight, this is the new
Disco Stick. This is the holographic one from Urban Decay, and it says here it's gonna create an iridescent
multi-dimensional sheen that looks amazing on all skin tones for an intensely
holographic highlight. Oh
I'm so sad that they used holographic cuz I bet you anything that's what people are mad about. Oh, I was right. "False
advertising, this is
N O T
holographic!" And it seems like people are saying it is very glittery and pink.
Oh I see what they're talking about, yeah that is not even close to
holographic! Just a whole lot of like pinky sparkle, but let's try it as a highlight. Kind of has like a blue pink to it
Streaked on the face there. Once we blend it out, yep that's uh, that's pretty sparkly. Also
Just a heads up it is peeling off
some of my foundation so that's good. By the way do you love how I was like "Oh everyone's so obsessed about it not being
Holographic" and then I immediately go in like to be like "UGH!
this is just GLITTER." So now moving on to a powder, this is the Sephora Beauty Amplifier Smoothing
Translucent Setting Powder. And this is supposed to be an ultra fine, colorless powder that mattifies the skin, smoothes it out, and just
reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines. And the reviews are saying that it has a strong chemical smell,
a lot of flashback in photos, and it doesn't mattify at all
And it would make sense that it would create that sort of flashback effect because it's, it has
Silica in it so it's going to, when it reflects off light, it's going
to
make your pores
not look as noticeable, fine lines and not look as noticeable, but that also means they're gonna get a nice white cast if you use
flash. I think this is supposed to be a dupe for the Makeup Forever
powder that looks identical to this like right down to the lid, and the one thing I don't like about that lid is that I
can't really pour
the powder in to kind of get it out, I have to keep it in here because there's like a big lump in the middle
of the lid. So is there like a scent to it?
OH it does have a scent, oh that's awful
I don't like that. It doesn't smell like Wish
*Inhales and chokes on powder*
Don't talk near the powder Rachael! Like it doesn't have the scent of the Wish makeup, that was awful, but it doesn't smell good
Hopefully it'll just like, dissipate once I apply it to my skin. So i'm just gonna use a little
fluffy brush to apply it underneath the eyes
Then we'll use a bigger fluffy brush to
apply it to the face. We'll see if it actually lasts all day though. And now onto another Natasha Denona product, this is the
Contour Sculpting Powder and this is in the shade Light
The reviews are kind of all over the place, a couple of people are, "like wow this is really good I really like it" and
other people are like "No pigment at all,
nothing showed up, I hated it." This is the shade right here, that is going to be a good color for my skin tone I
feel like. Let's just dive right in. So that's it on the skin right there like that's a good amount of contour for
me. So in applying it underneath the cheekbones there, like that's what we're working with
Like, it shows up, it's very light but it's supposed to be light. I want it to be light. Maybe the other shades
aren't that good but like this one is good for me. And now for lip color I'm gonna be trying one by Shu Uemura
and this is the
Tint n Balm and
this is in the shade Pink Vibe which looks so pretty online. And it's supposed to be a lip balm that offers
high color payoff with an incredible lightweight texture, very hydrating,
high-impact. And the reviews are basically saying that if you apply this
to dry lips it's just going
to sink into all those cracks in your lips and it doesn't last a long time
But it never said it was gonna last a long time, so I won't judge it on that, but i do want
to see it's gonna sit into the
creases and cracks in my lips. Oh that's bizarre, I took it out of the packaging
and expected to be able to open it, but there's like another level to it. Now I have to take off
this layer. Is they're gonna be like a lock to open the lid? It has a
click top which is interesting, I was expecting to like twist it to
turn up the color but, no, you have to click it, which is annoying. I don't like that. Let's see what the color looks like.
OH my gosh that's beautiful!
Okay, this is a very very messy gloss, that is the one thing about really really colorful glosses that don't last a long time is
they get EVERYWHERE. I can't seem to get like a good line in here.
It's just really really messy
That's a good look. So let's try and clean this up. Okay it does clean up fairly easily so that's good but I feel like
this is gonna be on my teeth like all day long and I'm gonna be super
self-conscious of that, so we'll just see how well it like adheres the lips and wears
throughout the day. And last but not least is a setting spray. This is by Coola it is an SPF 30
Makeup Setting Spray. By the way it has those balls that's gonna shake up the product a lot so it's VERY LOUD
It has organic ingredients in it to reduce shine, it has the UV protection,
make up lasting fresh all day. See what kind of a spray this one gives
Ah! That's kind of aggressive at first. People didn't like this because the online
description is inaccurate. It's marketed as a spray but the bottle says
to not- okay hold on. It says the Sephora website and the website marketed it as a "spray" but then the bottle says not
to spray it directly on your face and it has to be applied with the hands. WHAT???
OH my gosh, on here it says "Do not spray directly on the face,
spray on hands and apply to face" The only time that I forget to read the reviews first is the one time where it's really
important. Do you say what it does like is this not supposed to get my eye? Like now I'm freaking out. You can't have
A setting spray that you can't set and spray it on your face! And other people are saying that it has a very strong
alcohol smell to it, like I
didn't get a- OH
*cough* now i get it.
Once it dissipates, you do not smell the alcohol at all but once you spray it immediately onto your hands, like it's very obvious
Sephora. girl. You need to fix that. So many people are gonna spray this on their face and it not supposed
to be! So that is the final look there I feel like we made it work but there are some definite products that I do
not like from this mix as well some that I do. So now I'm gonna go about my day, I'm going to see
how this makeup wears and then I will check in with you guys tonight.
Hey guys so it is now the end of the day and uh, this
is the mess that is my makeup right now. So I think it's safe to say that the mascara and also the liner
Don't hold up well. So that being the most obvious one is pretty awful
And then the
streaky glitter highlight is pink and very glittery. Although it could also be a mixture of the bite beauty
prismatic stick, whatever
It's it's been a long day
The lip product didn't hold up well like I found that the lip gloss was like showing up on my food and stuff
and I found that because I was trying to eat a sandwich I just kind of blotted it off a little bit of it just
to remove
some of the excess
lip gloss that I would end up eating, and then left behind like a really pretty pink stain which I wasn't expecting but it was
quite nice, it's worn off pretty patchy by now it is like
10:30 at night though. And the foundation was nice but I kind of want
To see how it works with other primers, so that is where we're at. So I'm gonna take off my raccoon eyes
now
and i'm gonna go to sleep. And that is everything for this video give it a big thumbs up if you enjoy these a
testing of products that are rated a certain level on the Sephora website or a drugstore or anything like that
Maybe i'll do like a five-star rated one from like the Ulta website or something like that next so let me know if you guys want
to see that and don't forget
to SUBSCRIBE
So you don't miss out on new videos every Tuesday,
Thursday, and Sunday and that is everything. I hope you guys are having an amazing amazing week so far and I'll see you guys all
