- We did a little bit of different things

than we usually do.

We did some moving chairs which we've never done before.

We had to, like, organize it all.

And then we organized the baskets outside.

It sounds boring but it was kind of fun.

- [Connie] Why do you have to do this?

- For school, because you have

to do community service hours, I think like 20,

by the end of the year.

- [Connie] As part of your graduation of that grade

to move on?

- Yeah, so we have to do community service

for the school.

- What are we doing right now?

- We are doing.

- Community service.

- Yes, community service for our school

- We're doing good in the community,

we're at Mercy Warehouse and we're going to,

I don't know, usually they have us organize and clean up,

and get things ready.

- I think we're gonna, giving food or something today?

- Maybe.

- Maybe, 'cause we did that on one of our first days,

we gave food away to some homeless people.

- We did, that was cool.

But I'm pretty sure they're going to put Tyler

in a dungeon this time.

- Yeah.

- Just because.

- No, in the freezer.

- In the freezer dungeon.

- Usually I just sort through clothes and like,

take out the hangers.

- And shop, she's like, ooh that shirts cute.

- I've only done that once.

It was a Steven Universe shirt and it was awesome.

- They gave us some treats for doing so, so.

- They gave us some Snickerdoodles, which are delicious

by the way, we had one.

And then we got some Angel food Cake.

- [Connie] Yum. - Delicious.

And we have some whipped cream too,

so we'll put that on Angel food cake.

- [Connie] I wish I could eat that.

- It was either this, or there was this chocolate cake

with M&M's on top and Kit Kats around the side.

- [Connie] That sounds yummy too.

- Yes.

- [Connie] I would eat all of that,

except for the gluten factor.

- Well you can't really eat around the gluten (laughing)

- I know!

I love this stuff, and I have no problem with eating it.

It's just if I have a gluten attack

then that means my stomach gets really upset and.

- [Kayla] It does a tantrum.

- Well, I don't want to get in to details,

it just, yeah, it throws a tantrum

and I feel uncomfortable for the rest of the night

until it processes, and so.

I do it a little bit, and I know it won't get me.

It's just if I keep doing if, after like a couple days

of cheating, it gets to me, so.

- My phone is almost done updating.

- [Connie] Kayla's excited, she's got a phone updating.

Tyler's over here, he's just been really

in to this virtual reality thing.

- [Kayla] It's work-simulator or job-simulator or something.

- [Connie] We haven't seen your face

in like three days, Tyler.

- [Connie] Watch, oooh.

It's kind of freaky when they can't see you,

and you're touching him.

I think I'm gonna have you guys do

a different kind of challenge.

- What do you mean, different?

- [Connie] It's going to be reality,

not just virtual reality.

- What?

I don't know what that is.

- [Connie] Okay, it'll be kind of like virtual reality.

I think we should do a quick, the pool is lava.

It's winter time, and with it being winter time

the pool water is really really cold,

'cause we haven't been turning on the heater.

It's sunny out, and if you make it, you don't get wet.

Sounds good to me.

- Change the name from the pool of lava

to the pool is glacier.

- The pool is glacier?

- The pool is glacier.

- [Kayla] The ice water challenge.

- The ice water challenge?

- The ultimate ice bucket challenge.

Shawn and I should do this.

- [Shawn] Yeah right.

- I would, I would totally do it,

except for, you can't tell, but I have had a cough

for about three weeks now, and I just got a cold,

so now I'm trying, almost past the cough,

and I got a cold and my head is hurting right now.

So I am a little congested.

The kids say you can't tell when you watch on video

if someone's sick or not, so I'm just telling you guys,

I'm puttin' on my best face, for you.

Trying to make the best of this.

And I think a lot of you guys out there

are going through the same things.

going around everywhere.

I know some of you said you had the flu,

some have bronchitis, it's just that time of year.

They ended up loving that toy.

That was the stinky sock that we got them

for weird dog toys.

- [Kayla] Go get it!

- [Connie] And those two love that sock.

- [Kayla] We call it the dog toy of doom.

- [Connie] Even if I had bought two,

they would have picked one and fought over it.

- Yeah, whenever one has a toy,

the other one always wants it,

so it wouldn't have helped anyways.

- [Connie] Look what he did to that mouth.

- You can't squeak it anymore unless you

hold the whole.

(squeaking)

- [Connie] Ha a-ha, so I think Harley probably did that.

- [Kayla] Harley did that.

(squeaking)

- [Connie] So those are the funny faces

that we got him, see?

- [Kayla] He doesn't hold it for very long.

- [Connie] If he was bigger, it would probably work better,

but they still like to squeak.

- This one is alright, they're not too...

- [Connie] Yeah, that one's kind of weird

'cause after they capture it it still wants

to keep moving so I think they get frustrated with it.

- He's like, I want this.

- [Connie] Harley's all, that's my toy, I'm good.

And he plays with the mustaches.

- [Kayla] And then this guy's just lonely.

- [Connie] Yeah, Hershey doesn't really care for him.

- [Kayla] He rolls forever.

- [Connie] Hershey wants the sock.

- Hershey loves the sock.

- [Connie] That sock doesn't really smell, does it?

- No, I think it's just a sock.

- [Connie] It's a sock with paper in it,

'cause they always play with yours.

- They love the paper.

(Connie laughing)

- [Kayla] They don't really care for that thing either.

- [Connie] The bone?

It's like a wish-bone looking bone.

- [Kayla] Look it, Hershey rubs it in Harley's face.

When Harley doesn't want it, Hershey goes up

and he rubs it in his face, look.

He's like, putting it right in his face.

- [Connie] He's like, take it, play with me, take it.

- Now what are you gonna do, Harley has it.

- [Connie] Ah.

Now they play Tug-of-war,

but then Harley gives up.

- [Kayla] Harley give up 'cause he's scared of Hershey.

But sometimes Harley gets feisty

and he bites Hershey and then Hershey freaks out

'cause he didn't expect it.

- [Connie] Mine,

and then Harley goes.

- [Kayla] Sometimes he's interested.

- [Connie] He's like, hmmm.

And he likes the mouse too, right?

- Yeah.

- [Connie] We have like a motorized mouse

that Harley'll chase.

- [Kayla] What's that, what is it?

You gotta get him interested, get him interested.

(little mechanical grinding)

- [Kayla] Oh no!

It gets stuck so easily.

- [Connie] Yep, he's over it.

Nope, he wants his squeaky mustache and mouth.

- [Kayla] He likes the classics.

(laughing)

- [Connie] You got your sock?

(squeaking)

(Connie laughing)

- [Connie] Shawn's out in the backyard.

He is helping us re-fill up the balloons.

You know, balloons deflate so,

he's filling up the cube and the castle,

so the kids can do, the pool is lava.

- Oh I'm gonna show them my watermelons that haven't grown.

- [Connie] Okay.

- Nothing is there yet,

but there will be something hopefully.

I planted watermelon seeds, it takes like seven

to ten days, it said, for the sprouts to come,

and it's been like three days.

And I'm getting kind of impatient!

- [Connie] So you're growing watermelons.

- Hopefully!

Hopefully I'm doing this right.

- [Connie] You are.

(light guitar music)

- [Connie] Looks like Daddy fixed the fence over here.

- Yeah, oh he locked this.

- [Connie] Is it locked?

- Yes.

- [Connie] You're locked in.

So down here there was a big gap in the fence,

and Dad reinforced it so the dogs don't escape.

- 'Cause Harley escaped last night and it scared us.

He went up there though.

- [Connie] Yeah, there was another spot,

way up there, the dogs went in to the neighbors yard.

- He still loves me holding him like a baby.

- [Connie] Yeah, he loves being a baby.

- Hi.

Look, if I try and do Hershey, he'll start squirming.

Hershey's impatient, and he likes to move.

- [Connie] But he still wants the attention.

He wants to feel special.

- Yeah - [Connie] Oh, Hershey.

- I don't like his kisses, but.

- [Connie] Yeah.

- He likes to kiss people.

- [Connie] We gotta get their teeth brushed,

they have really bad breath right now, yucky.

- Let's see how long Hershey will let me hold him.

- [Connie] He's diggin' the attention.

- He's soft.

- [Connie] Yeah, we just got their microchips updated.

- Oh you did?

- [Connie] Yeah.

- I didn't even know that.

- [Connie] Their microchips needed

to be updated, so once a year we have

to re-register the microchips in the dogs

so we can find them if they ever, you know, get lost,

and someone turns them in to the vet,

so you can stay safe.

- He's a little explorer, Harley's like,

um, I'm just going to cuddle on your lap.

While we were filming the dog-testing video,

he curled up in Mom's lap, he's like, I'm done.

- He's like, I'm done.

Turn the camera off, I'm out.

- [Connie] Unless you have bacon, I'm not doing anything.

- Bacon, bacon?

- He perked his ears up because of the way you say it.

(Shawn growling)

- [Kayla] He's like, oh oh, he's mad at me.

- Bacon.

Grrr, bacon.

- High five.

No, high five.

- [Connie] Yay,

that's kind of a round a 'bout way, but.

- We're teaching.

Gotta give me a high five, bro.

He doesn't understand, high five, there you go.

(laughing)

- [Connie] Harley does do it a lot,

even without treats, it just depends on his mood.

- Yeah.

- [Connie] You ready for a challenge?

- Yes.

- [Connie] Yes.

I knew you were.

K, so pick your boats.

- I want the cube.

- I want the castle.

- [Connie] Alright.

We gotta get their floaties in there,

and they have to try and use their oars

to get across the pool without getting dunked in or wet.

And whoever gets across the pool first, wins.

The pool is lava, the pool is lava.

(rhythmic techno music)

- I don't know how to move!

- [Connie] Push off the step.

- I can't get across, in this condition.

- [Connie] Dun-dun-da.

Wow, Tyler's good at that.

She's got it!

So we'll have to do a round two.

- Now I gotta go back.

- [Connie] You did good.

Oh, you need to go back?

- I'm doing it!

I wanna go in a circle.

- This water's super cold.

- I'm just spinning in circles!

Yay, I finally know what I'm doing. (laughing)

- [Connie] So you're in the front,

we'll give Kayla a crutch.

Tyler has to get around Kayla to win.

- [Connie] Kayla's out in the lead.

We gave her a little bit a head start this time

'cause Tyler's pretty strong.

Where's Tyler?

- Ha ha, Tyler's the funny one now.

Okay, we gotta swim!

- [Connie] Oh, Tyler's falling.

- [Tyler] Wah wah wah.

- [Kayla] Is it cold?

- [Connie] Tyler got wet, ahh!

- Push hard, get away!

(water splashing)

- [Connie] Tyler got a little burned by the lava,

Tyler almost fell in, totally.

Alright, Kayla's heading back.

Tyler got turned now.

- Ha!

- [Connie] Yay.

So Kayla was the winner of that round.

- Yay.

- [Connie] Tyler was the winner of the first round,

so I think it's a tie.

- [Kayla] Ha ha, he's not giving up.

- [Connie] Ahhh.

He's like, I'm swimmin', I'm just swimmin'.

How's that water?

- My leggings are soaked,

I'm just happy my hoodie didn't get wet.

- [Connie] Yay.

You were the winner of the first round.

- Yeah, it was a tie, we're both the champs

of the lava thingy-ma-jigger challenge.

- [Connie] Yeah, we're silly aren't we.

- But we hope you guys enjoyed this episode.

- So the kids are back to gaming and...

there's Shawn.

We're trying to hang coverings over these great big windows

in front of our house.

This time of year the sun is beating down on us

and it's kind of nice to have the heat,

but it's really hard to see in here.

And, what kind of glass do you call this?

- [Shawn] Stained glass?

- Mm, not stained.

- [Shawn] Beveled, crystal.

- Yeah, it's like a beveled.

There, now you guys can see it.

But it creates all these rainbows in the house

and it's really annoying to try to see through.

- [Shawn] Or film videos.

- Or film.

Like, we're always trapped on one side of the house

because of all this light crashing in.

So we put a shade up on this window, way up here,

and we're hoping that will minimize some

of this rainbowing that this window does,

and then we put this curtain over it.

Which we've had in here for awhile, details.

Anyways, the final goal is to get this one great big window

above, in the front of our house, covered.

So, cross your fingers, we'll show you if it turns out.

Alright, so we've made some progress.

- I think so.

- Shawn's workin' on it, but we have

a few more things we have to kind of wrap up

with this window.

We think we got the placement figured out.

We got it partially hung,

we have to secure it at this point.

And you guys probably can't even tell

that there's anything there, the sun is so bright.

You can still see this window through the shade,

but there is a shade here.

Here's the shade.

We're still working on that, and we're gonna continue

working on the rest of the house.

This is kinda like a work day for us.

- Yay, work days.

Kayla's got the hiccups

- Kayla's hiccuping, aw.

- Is this the end?
