- Hi everyone, my name is Tyler,
and it's been a while since I've made a video,
so I am just gonna dive right in
because I'm really nervous to be making this
because I haven't made one in forever,
and I was just like, you know what?
They all hate me now, so if you don't hate me,
push the like button below so I know
that you don't hate me, it'll be the only way.
So a few weeks ago, I was invited to come speak
for Spirit Day in Charleston, South Carolina
for a rally, and it was so much fun.
I got to meet so many of you guys,
and here are some pictures of the meetup
that I had while I was there, it was just a lot of fun.
I put up all the pictures that you guys sent me
from the event on my Facebook,
so you can find them all there.
Then I took an overnight flight to New York,
and if you follow me on Instagram,
you know that my week in New York
was absolutely insane.
I got to go to a Women of YouTube comedy show,
which was absolutely hilarious
and featured some of my favorite ladies on YouTube,
including Hannah Hart and Mamrie Hart
and Dailygrace and Francesca Ramsey,
and it was so fun and funny,
I absolutely loved it.
I got to be on a special Halloween episode
of My Damn Channel Live with Hannah Hart
and Dailygrace, and we all dressed up as
Internet memes of 2012,
I was obviously ridiculously photogenic guy, because duh.
You can find the link to that video below.
And then one of the absolute craziest and amazing things
that happened to me in New York
was kind of a continuation of something
that happened to me in a previous video --
And then the day before, Ricky Martin tweeted at me
on National Coming Out Day, which is insane,
which, I mean, that doesn't happen to me, or people!
And basically, what happened was, Ricky Martin
invited me to come see him in his Broadway revival
of Evita and it was amazing and he was phenomenal
and then I got to meet him backstage
and we chatted for like, 30 minutes,
and he signed my book, can you see?
It says, to my friend Tyler, thank you for everything
you're the best, it was like, a crazy thing
that I just don't, I cannot fathom that it happened
because it was so cool and he's just so amazing,
so Ricky, thank you for that.
Then I announced that I was having an impromptu
New York City meetup in Central Park,
and it was gonna be three hours,
and I was like, oh my god, nobody's gonna come,
and then all of you came and it was over 500 people
and it was six and a half hours long
of nonstop posing and pictures and fun
and hugging and embracing and funness
and amazingness and it was just absolutely insane,
so thank you guys for coming.
I am putting all the pictures you guys sent
of us together at the meetup on Facebook,
so you can find your picture there.
I then visited my friends at dosomething.org,
which is an amazing organization
that encourages youth to get involved
in activism in tons of different ways,
and we came up with a campaign together
because I always get you guys asking me
for birthday shoutouts, so if you want me to call you
or your friend or anybody you know in your life
for their birthday and wish them a happy birthday,
all you have to do is click the link below,
and you can sign up anybody and I will call them
on their birthday, it's that simple.
Go sign up all of your friends, it was really cool to do.
And this whole time in New York,
I was staying with my good friend Alex,
we were like, we should have a Twitcam kiki,
we should talk about all the stuff we did at the meetup
we should talk about our week, because it was a crazy week,
then we saw, of all people, Lindsay Lohan tweet
about the hurricane, and we were like,
oh my god, Lindsay's online, let's all tweet at her
and tell her to come to this Twitcam,
and she did.
And so we are basically best friends
with Lindsay Lohan now, she spent two hours
in our Twitcam, she literally yelled at me
because I was drinking and she said,
have you learned nothing from my past,
literally, I just, I lost my ability to even.
And then of course, Hurricane Sassy hit,
and I was a little bit distraught,
because I was supposed to go home,
back to San Francisco for Halloween,
I had all these plans, so I felt kind of stuck,
but everything worked out for the best
because I spent Halloween with my good friends
Christian and Brad and we had
a little Halloween get-together,
and then that night,
of all things that could possibly happen,
Andy Cohen invited me to guest bartend their special
Halloween episode of Watch What Happens Live,
and I got to hug and embrace Andy Cohen
and Denise Richards and I was just literally dying,
and just when I thought that night couldn't get any better,
we left Watch What Happens Live and headed over
to meet up with some friends at karaoke,
and it was literally like a dream
because I am just sitting here, in a karaoke room,
sipping my drink, watching Amber Riley
perform How Will I Know by Whitney Houston
with Christian Siriano on backup,
and I was just like, what is going on?
It will go down as one of the absolute coolest moments
of my life, so I can't complain that my flight was delayed
because that happened.
So then, after spending two weeks in New York,
I flew back to San Francisco to do a day of laundry
and then flew to LA for the week.
So then, for the whole week in LA,
I cohosted What's Trending Live with Shira Lazar
and we did a whole bunch of videos together
but a couple of my favorites, the links will be below,
we did an interview with Kingsley,
we did an interview with the cast of
Lizzie Bennet Diaries, we did an interview with
Michelle Branch, we made a salad
with Michelle Branch, we had like, a cooking show.
I played the Newlyweds game to see how much
I knew Kingsley and how much he knew me,
so the links to all of those will be below,
they're hilarious, they're amazing, you need to watch them.
That Sunday, I went and got drinks
with somebody you may recall from a previous Glingo video,
his name is Jake, he's Australian,
he's just the best.
On election night, I got to be a part of
Larry King's Live election coverage
where I talked about social media
and the election online and on Tumblr
and Twitter and how it kind of changed the game
this election season,
and it was just really surreal
to watch election coverage with Larry King
sitting to my right and Dionne from Clueless
sitting to my left, I just felt like,
what is going on in my life?
I went and got drinks with Abraham and Eileen
from The Glee Project, I got to get drinks
with one of my absolute favorite Twitter friends,
Jamba Jim, who ships Klaine just as much as I do,
basically I got a lot of drinks that week.
And then finally, on that Wednesday,
I was invited to be a guest on the live pre-show
for the X Factor in the US, which was absolutely insane,
because if you know me, I love reality TV,
and so to go on the show and talk about what I love
and talk about what contestants I love,
it was so fun, so if you watched that,
thank you for watching.
Finally, I am back in San Francisco,
and you have no clue how excited I am to be here.
I have been gone and out and about for weeks
and weeks and weeks, and so to sleep in my own bed
feels so good, you have no fucking clue.
Thank you to Alex and Sarah who let me stay
at their places in LA and New York,
but to be in my own bed in San Francisco,
you have no idea.
So yes, I know that was the longest update of my life,
but thank you for grinning and bearing with it.
The links to all the videos I'm talking about
and all the campaigns that I talked about
are gonna be below.
A couple announcements that I feel like I should tell you,
number one, you can get a birthday call from me,
the link will be below,
and finally, please vote for me for the Queerty awards,
I am nominated for two categories,
link to both of those are below,
but yes, I feel like I just talked your ear off!
So what is going on in your life?
I'm going to be reading your guys' comments
to tell me what's been going on in your life!
I want to hear the amazing things that are happening to you,
so yeah, comment below, I hope you're having a good life.
I'm sorry that this video was a million years long,
but I just felt like I should update you on my life,
that is all, okay, it's been real.
Okay, bye.
Oh my god.
