(sighs)
- Hello.
(jazzy music)
- This week's not about hellos,
it's about goodbyes.
Hey guys.
Hey guys, this week on My Drunk Kitchen
we are saying goodbye to this beautiful,
beautiful kitchen set
which we've had a lot of memories in.
Some good.
Happy Hanniversary everybody.
- I get afraid of how much I love you.
- I know.
Some bad.
Ow, I touched it with my fingers.
And some downright hair
raising experiences.
See ya later (gasps) that was my hair.
(girls all screaming)
- Oh my God, oh my God,
oh my God.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
That's right, we're saying
goodbye to this beautiful
kitchen set which has given us so much
and done a great many thing for us.
Now for a lot of us, saying
goodbye can be pretty hard.
See.
Because goodbye effectively
means that a change is coming.
And change, like I've
said many times before,
it can be difficult to deal with.
So I've taken the time to
put my feelings into words
and I wrote this kitchen
set a little poem.
Let's read it.
And at some point on this episode
we'll get to the actual cooking.
Ahem, a poem from the heart.
Dear kitchen, I want you to know
how much I loved our time together
although not all words were made to ryhme,
however, I thought our
pairings were quite clever.
That was our now and not forever.
I am cool.
Pairings was a pun, like, because
of food and wine pairings.
Just in case you missed that one.
Let's cook, guys.
What can I say, I'm a sucker
for a bubbly disposition.
Today we are going to be
making a sweet potato mousse
because it's bittersweet,
potato
and because I'll really mousse this place.
It was a great set in a lot of great ways.
One fifteen ounce can sweet
potatoes in syrup, drained.
Sweet potatoes in syrup.
One fifteen ounce can a
hundred percent pumpkin puree.
Pureed pumpkin.
Quarter cup honey.
Honey.
A half teaspoon pumpkin pie spice.
Pumpkin pie spice, the
least known Spice Girl.
Half teaspoon ground cinnamon.
Cinnamon.
Two cups sweetened whipped cream
or whipped dessert topping.
Oh-no, where is that.
Step one: Add the first thing first.
Step two: Add all the rest second.
I find it a little ironic that
we're using so many canned
goods in this episode because frankly,
you shouldn't put your emotions in a can.
You should process them.
Don't bottle them up either.
I didn't even try and save that.
Never drink as a mechanism to cope, ever.
Oh my God, my processor is way
too small for all of this emotion.
Process round one.
Talk to your friends.
(processor whirs)
So what do you think I should do?
Great, now you have way
too much sweet potato
for the amount of mousse
you're looking to make.
So, just like real life processing,
if you can't take it in all at once,
give yourself some time, and
let go of some of the past.
Meaning dump out half of this can.
You can process it in chunks later.
Beautiful.
It actually smells like the holidays
so that's triggering.
Add the pumpkin.
And remember, if you're having a hard time
there's plenty of really good
things in life, for instance
cinnamon, pumpkin spice.
Last but not least, honey.
Process.
Also, here's a quick tip.
All of us have different
processing speeds.
We're all like different computers
operating at different algorithms.
So just because you're
processing something faster
or somebody else isn't
processing something slower
or their processing something faster
and you're processing it slower
it doesn't mean that there's
like a right and a wrong,
you just are the way you
are and you're gonna process
at your processing speed no matter what.
So do what's best for
you, not what you see
someone else doing as
what's best for them.
Make sure it's what's best for you.
Good luck.
(processor whirs)
Uh-oh, heads up.
You might be deluding
yourself and you might think,
"Oh, I have a 100% process these events."
But look.
You've only processed it half way.
Sometimes you need a little extra oomph
to help you get through the
bigger chunks of change.
Oomph, oomph, oomph, oomph.
Love ya.
Plop, plop, plop.
That never works.
This is not a mousse.
Take a bite with all your might.
This just tastes like pumpkin pie.
This point is this.
Thank you kitchen, for all that
you've given to me and to us
and it was a really great kitchen
in so many ways.
Cheers to you, kitchen.
Thank you kitchen, for being
everything that you could.
It was a great kitchen.
We had a great time.
This is a great kitchen.
Though I really wish it had AC.
Hey you guys, thank you
so much for watching.
