I knew you through the days of the
blades of the grass in summer parall
being younger. I me
the sound of your bad footsteps
running.
It's been a long time.
Love is ways of leaving those days
behind.
Seeing you tonight,
I remembered I loved you. Came back when
I met I saw you standing there in a
window with that same smile. And it's
been a while, but I knew it. I knew you.
I knew it. I knew you.
I knew you all your moves like a moon
ring changing colors. You did too. There
were times we could fight like brothers.
I watched you drive
around the floor. What I thought would
be the last time I saw my friend.
But love has ways of bringing things
back to life.
All you said was high. I remembered I
loved you. Came back when I met and I
saw you standing there in the light of
the wind and that same smile. It's been
a while. But I know that I knew you.
I know. I knew you
cuz I knew you.
I knew you.
I knew you. I knew you.
I knew you. I know. Yeah.
as I cry when we say goodbye,
wondering if I'd made it up in my mind.
But you look me in the eye.
And you told me I loved you. Came back
when I mattered. I saw you standing
there in the light of the window.
Wearing that same smile. It's been a
while. Oh,
wearing that same smile. Yeah, it's been
a while.
You're wearing that same smile. It's
been a while, but I know it. I know you.
I know it. I know you.
We're not smile.
And it's been a while, but I know it. I
know it.
I know it. I know it.
Woo!
I would just love to say it means the
world to me to be a small part of the
universe of these films and Toy Story 5
is my favorite of all of the Toy
Stories. I'm so lucky that I get to be a
part of this.
And I want to thank all of um I want to
thank all of the creators at Disney and
Pixar for all the work they put into
this film. It's insanely beautiful. It's
a masterpiece. We're so lucky to get to
have this film out. Your work is
amazing. And um I hope you're all so
proud of yourselves if you're in this
room and you worked on this film. Thank
you so much.
I would like to say that Joan Cusack has
done such an extraordinary job as Jesse.
It was an honor to write for her
and I I'm very lucky that I got to write
for this film. Um, and that's all thanks
to Andrew Stanton and Ken Harris who
wrote and directed this film
and proud of me and reached out to me
and let me get to experience it and be
inspired by it. But I'm also lucky
enough to be here because of someone
else who is the architect of the Toy
Story musical universe. He is the king
of of making us feel the absolute most
and pulling at our heartstrings and
making us laugh and uh making us like
he's he's one of our friends. You know
what I mean? I'm talking about Randy
Newman.
Hey, Randy.
>> Hey.
>> Very kind. Thank you. Kind words. I
deserve them,
>> but I don't deserve them. You do a hell
of a song.
>> Oh, thank you so much. really nice.
>> This is a good This is feels like a
really good day. Just personally,
you feel like um you feel like playing a
song. Your girl set up to do it.
Oh, all right.
You got a friend
got you in
when the road looks rough in your miles
and miles in a nice warm bed.
You just remember what you said. You got
a pretty deep.
Yeah. You got a friend in me.
You got a friend in me.
>> You got a friend in me.
You got your trolls.
I got two.
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for
you. We stick together. We see it
through.
You got a friend in me.
You got a friend in me.
Some folks might be a little bit smarter
than I am.
>> A little smarter than you.
Baby,
none of them ever love you the way I do.
It's me and you, boy. And as the years
go by,
our friendship will never die.
You come to see it's our destiny.
You got a friend in me.
You got a friend in me.
You got a friend in me.
Woo!
You win.
