the things we couldn't spend time with.

Because I want to feel less of these things

I think I have a feeling that I have to take full responsibility for Mi-nam

So, while raising Mi-nam,

A heart that understands that they are animals

I learned a heart that understands other living things

for dogs and cats.

they speak. They can hurt people

They say cats live on average for 13 years

But my cat is currently 12 years old

to move to a house where I can raise a cat, and

so that I can spend the last days of Mi-nam's life well together.

친구를 만난 기분이었습니다

그래서 이번에도 또 무슨 주제를 하면

많은 분들이 재밌게 들어주실 수 있을까 생각을 해봤어요

그런데 저번에 애니메이션에 대해서

이렇게 1시간 동안 이야기를 했을 때 그게 처음이었는데

제가 어떻게 저떻게 그래도 끝까지 1시간 이야기할 수 있었던

이유가 뭘까를 보니까

제가 좋아하는 거에 대해서 이야기를 했더니

한 시간 동안 술술술술 이야기가 나왔던 것 같더라고요

그래서 이번에도 좀 내가 좋아하는 거

위주로 이야기를 해보자

이렇게 생각을 하게 됐습니다 그래서

애니메이션 다음으로 내가 좋아하는 게 뭘까

생각을 했는데 아무리 생각해도

고양이밖에 떠오르지 않더라고요

그래서 오늘은 제가 너무너무 좋아하는 동물,

고양이에 대해서 이야기를 해 보도록 하겠습니다

이렇게 부모님 집으로 왔고요

마침 지금 미남이가 낮잠 시간이라 가지고

이렇게 운 좋게 같이 찍고 있습니다

미남이와 함께 찍기 위해서 얼마나 많은 테이크를 찍었는지...

애완동물 중에 제일 유명한 게 고양이랑 강아지잖아요

여러분들은 고양이파신가요? 강아지파이신가요?

아마 전 세계적으로 보면

강아지를 키우시는 분들이 훨씬 많지 않을까?

그렇게 생각을 하거든요

한국에도 아마 강아지를 키우시는 분들이 더 많을 것 같아요

그래서 여러분들은 고양이파? 강아지파? 궁금한데

저는 사실 엄청난 강아지파였습니다

강아지파라고 할까... 그냥 저는 애완동물 하면은

강아지 밖에 몰랐어요

고양이는 미남이를 데려오기 전에는

거의... 그 어떤 동물인지,

어떻게 생겼는지는 뭐 대충 알지만

실제로 본 적이 몇 번 없을 정도로 잘 몰랐거든요

그런데 저는 이제 고양이를 키우기 시작하면서

완전 고양이파로 바뀐 그런 케이스예요

그래서 오늘은 어쩌다가 제가 고양이를 키우게 됐으며

고양이의 매력들 이런 거 한번 준비를 해봤는데

먼저 그러면 제가 강아지파였다가

고양이를 데려오게 된 이유

저희 집 미남이를 만나게 된 과정에 대해서

먼저 이야기해 볼까요?

우선 좀 많이 옛날로 가야 돼요

저는 아주 어렸을 때부터 동물을 너무너무 좋아했습니다

동물을 너무 좋아했고 그 중에서도

아무래도 강아지가 제일 사람이랑 친하다 보니까

저도 강아지를 너무 키우고 싶어 했어요

그래서 저는 어렸을 때 꿈이 수의사,

동물을 관리해주는 의사였을만큼 동물을 되게 좋아했는데

그래서 부모님한테 항상 강아지 키우게 해달라고

이야기하던 그런 아이였습니다

그래서 생일선물로 항상 "제가 진짜 말도 잘 듣고...

공부도 열심히 할 테니까 강아지 키우게 해주세요...

제가 관리 다 할게요!!"

이렇게 부탁을 했는데

결론적으로는 못 키웠어요 강아지를

강아지는 마트에서 그냥 인형 이렇게 데려오듯이

함부로 쉽게 데려올 수가 없잖아요

생명이고 또 엄청 관리를 잘 해줘야 되고

진짜 가족처럼 그렇게 생각을 해줘야 되는

반려동물이다 보니까

부모님께서 '너는 아직 그런 준비가 안 됐다'

'너는 한 생명을 책임질 그런 준비가 덜 됐다' 해서

안 된다고 하셨어요

그래서... 그런데도,

저는 계속 동물을 키우고 싶다고 부모님한테 말씀을 드려서

강아지는 아니고 다른 동물들을 몇 번 키워봤어요

새라던가 금붕어라던가

그리고 또 아빠 회사 강아지를 일주일 정도 맡아준

그런 경험들도 있어요

그런데 제가 그 경험들을 잘 잘 책임지고

완수해내지 못했어요

도전을 성공시키지 못했습니다

우선 새 같은 경우는요

저는 동물이랑 교감을 하고 싶었던 거거든요

교감은 대화를 하는 건 아니지만

그래도 텔레파시를 주고받듯이 그..런 거죠

눈빛으로 이야기하고 표정으로 이야기하고 그런 거 있잖아요

강아지는 말을 못하지만 그래도

"너 지금 밥 먹고 싶어? 배고파?"

이런 거를 물어보면

"배고파요!!" 하는 그런 액션을 취해주잖아요

그런 걸 좀 하고 싶었는데

새는 그냥 짹짹짹짹 울기만 하고

뭔가 이렇게... 좀 친해져보려고 해도 도망가고

이런 교감이 안 돼서

좀 흥미를 빨리 잃어버렸던 그런 실패한 기억도 있고요

정말 그러면 안 돼요 동물을 데려와서 그러면 안 되는데

결국에는 제가 흥미를 잃어버려서

부모님께서 돌봐주셨던, 끝까지 돌봐주셨던

그런 실패의 경험도 있고요

그리고 강아지를 잠깐 맡아줬을 때도

'강아지는 정말 키우기 힘들구나' 하는 걸

가족들이 다 느꼈던 경험도 있거든요

저희가 오빠도 그렇고 저도 그렇고 그때는 학생이었어요

그리고 엄마 아빠도 일을 하시다 보니까

집을 오래 비워야 했었거든요

근데 강아지는 집을 오래 비우면

너무 힘들어 하더라고요 강아지도 힘들고

학교에 가서도 강아지 생각밖에 안 들어요

강아지 어떡하지? 밥 잘 먹고 있을까?

강아지를 두고 가는 주인의 마음도 불안하고

강아지도 기다리는 게 너무 힘들고

그렇게 관심과 시간을 너무 많이 같이 보내줘야 하는구나 하는 걸

그때 잠깐 맡아주면서 느끼게 됐어요

그래서 이제 그때부터는 부모님한테

'강아지 가지고 싶어요' 하는 말을 좀 덜 하게 됐습니다

그래도 키우고 싶은 마음은, 강아지가 너무 귀엽고

동물을 키우고 싶은 마음은 그대로니까

항상 펫샵 같은데,

강아지샵 같은데 지나가면 몇십 분씩 구경하고

'너무 귀엽다...'

'언젠가는 키울 수 있으면 좋겠다...'

이런 생각을 가지고 있었어요

그러던 어느 날, 저희 어머니께서 갑자기 저한테

이렇게 말을 하십니다

"근데 강아지는 키우기 힘든데

고양이라면 키워볼 만하지 않을까?"

"너도 키울 수 있지 않을까?"

이렇게 갑자기 이야기하시는 거예요

그래서 저는 그 순간 바로

"어? 그게 무슨 말이야? 고양이?"

"고양이가 왜?" 이렇게 물어보니까

어머니의 주변 친구분께서

고양이를 이번에 데려왔는데

생각보다 강아지처럼 시간도 많이 안 보내도 되고

그리고 여러 가지 케어할 게 있긴 하지만

그래도 그렇게 힘들고 그렇지는 않더라

라는 이야기를 어디서 들으신 거예요

그래서 제가 너무 이런 동물을 키우고 싶어 하고

막 맨날 '동물 있으면 공부도 열심히 할 텐데...'

이런 거짓말도 듣고 하다 보니까

부모님께서 한번 "고양이는 어때?"

"고양이는 관심 있어?" 이렇게 툭 물어봐 주신 거예요

그래서 저는 바로!

"고양이 너무 좋죠! 고양이 지금 알아볼까요?

제가 데려오면 될까요?" 이렇게 해가지고

저는 그때부터 고양이를 막 찾아보기 시작합니다

전 물론 고양이도 좋아하긴 했는데 그때만 해도

고양이가 그렇게 한국에서 인기있는?

사람들이 많이 키우는 애완동물이 아니었어요

반려동물이 아니었어요

그래서 전 제 학교에 고양이를 키우는 친구가

두 명 정도 밖에 없었거든요 제 친구들 중에는

그래서 막 물어봤죠 그 친구들한테

고양이는 뭐 어떤 특징들이 있고

뭐 이런 이런 것들을 케어 해줘야 되고

뭐 병원에 갈 때는 이런거 신경 써야 되고

그런 것들을 좀 제 나름대로 공부하기 시작했습니다

그때부터는 좀 철저하게 제대로 준비를 하기 시작했어요

친구들한테 물어도 보고 그리고 네이버 카페에도 있어요

좀 유명한 카페가 있는데

거기 고양이 카페에 가입을 해서

막 정보도 알아보고

어디서 데려와야 고양이한테도 좋고 뭐 그런 정보들

뭐 그런 거 있잖아요 펫샵 에서 데려오면

그 펫샵마다 다르겠지만

또 관리를 잘 안 해주는 그런 펫샵도 있으니까

'가정 분양 이런 게 좋다' 이런 정보들 있잖아요

그래서 저도 어떤 가정집에서 올린 글을 보고

그 가정집, 그냥 사람이 살고 있는, 가족들이 사는 집에서

고양이를 데려오기로 약속을 잡았습니다

제가 이렇게 연락을 해가지고

그래서 약속 날에 아빠랑 엄마랑 오빠랑 저랑

주말에 시간을 내서 차를 끌고 가요

고양이를 데리러 갑니다

근데 되게 멀었어요

한 1시간 반 정도 운전을 해서 갔어요

그래서 이제 약속 장소에 나가니까

진짜 작은 고양이를 어떤 여성분이 이렇게 데리고 나오더라고요

그게 이제 미남인데 데려와서

그 고양이를 딱 처음 받았을 때 너무 신기했어요

저는 이렇게 작은 생명을 손으로 만져본 것도 거의 처음이었고

고양이는 처음이고

막 이런 작은 고양이가 우는 소리

원래 고양이는 "야옹~" 이렇게 울잖아요 이렇게 우는데

그때 새끼 고양이었던 미남이는 막 거의 병아리처럼 울었거든요

🐥 삐약삐약

따라할 수가 없는데 아무튼 너무 신기한 거예요

너무 신기하고 너무 귀엽고

'정말 내가 행복하게 해줄게' 이렇게

마음속으로 약속을 했었던 그런 기억도 있습니다

그래서 저는 그때 왠지 모르겠지만

정말 하얀 고양이를 키우고 싶었어요

털이 이렇게 복슬복슬 털이 많고

하얀 고양이를 키우고 싶었고 눈은 또 파란색 고양이가

저의 로망... 고양이였어요 저의 이상적인 고양이여서

그런 고양이를 데려온 건데

아, 저희 집 고양이 소개를 안 했네요

저희 집 고양이는요 터키쉬 앙고라라는 고양이입니다

터키 고양이에요

털이 하얗고 눈이 이렇게 파랗고

굉장히 잘생긴 고양이입니다

이름에서도 알 수 있듯이 잘생긴 고양이에요

그래서 이제 이름을 짓게 된

그 썰을 한번 이야기해볼까 하는데

고양이를 데려왔는데 너무 예쁘고

그런데 이름을 지어줘야 되잖아요

그래서 처음으로 애완동물에 이름을 지어주는데

아 자꾸 '애완동물'이라고 하네

원래는 '애완동물'이라고 불렀는데 이게 몇 년 전부터

'반려동물'로 부르기로 바꿨어요

'애완'은 뭔가 이렇게 내가 소유?

가지고 있는 그런 뜻이 있고요

그리고 '반려'는 같이 살아간다라는 의미가 있어서

동물은 같이 살아가는 존재로 반려동물이라고 부르기로 했는데

자꾸 입이 익숙해가지고 애완동물이라고 하네

반려동물, 처음으로 애정을 가진 애정을 가진 반려동물이니까

이름을 엄청 고민을 하다가

후보가 세 가지가 있었습니다

그래서 첫 번째 후보는...

'찐빵'이었어요 찐빵 찐빵 아세요?

겨울 간식이거든요 왜 찐빵이라고 했냐면

한국에는 그런 미신이 있어요

동물 이름을 먹을 걸로 지어야지 오래 산다

하는 그런 미신이 있더라고요

그래서 아 그러면 얘가 흰색이고

뭔가 먹을 걸로 이름을 지어볼까?

근데... 딱히 떠오르는 게 없더라고요

밥풀?

흰색 음식들을 막 생각하다가

찐빵? 찐빵 귀엽지 않나?

라고 생각을 해봤는데 얘 얼굴을 보니까

너무 찐빵 같이 생기지는 않은 거예요

찐빵은 이렇게 동그랗고 포동포동한

그런 느낌인데 그런 느낌은 아니에요

그래서 찐빵 탈락했고

두 번째는 제가 그때 로이킴이라는 가수를 좋아했어요

그래서 로이, 루이 이런 이름으로 지어볼까? 를 생각했습니다

근데 이름은 되게 잘 어울려요

뭔가 이렇게 흰색에다가 눈이 파란 고양이니까

뭔가 이렇게 럭셔리한 이름 로이,

루이 같은 이름이 잘 어울리는 것 같아

그런데 뭔가 정이 안 가는 느낌? 아실까요?

귀여운 느낌이 안 드는 거예요 이렇게

음... '초코야' 이런 건 귀엽잖아요

'돌돌아', '똘똘아' 이런 건 귀여운데

'루이', '로이' 이런 거는 너무 귀여운 맛이 없다 해서

또 탈락했죠

그리고 이제 마지막이 '미남이'인데 미남이는 사실

저희 친구 아까 얘기했던 고양이를 키우고 있던 친구의

전 고양이 이름이었어요

그 친구가 두 마리 고양이를 키웠었는데

고양이 이름이 미남, 미녀

이렇게 형제, 아니 남매였습니다

'미남'이는 잘생긴 남자라는 뜻이고요

'미녀'는 예쁜 여자라는 뜻이에요

그래서 미남, 미녀를 키우다가

이 고양이들은 하늘나라로 갔고

지금 키우는 고양이는 미소라고 해서

미자 돌림으로 이렇게 고양이를 키우고 있었는데

제가 데려온 고양이도 남자 고양이이기도 하고

그러면 내가 미남이라는 이름 써도 될까?

내가 가져가도 될까? 라고 친구한테 물어보니까

친구가 너무 좋다고 "미남이라고 지어"라고 해서

'미남이' 뭔가 정감도 있고

귀엽기도 하고 좀 촌스럽기도 하고

그리고 또 너무 안 어울리는 이름도 아니고

진짜 얼굴이 너무 잘생기고... 잘생기고?

동물한테 잘생기고 괜찮나요?

예쁘게 생겼고 하니까 미남이로 짓자 해서

땅땅땅 결정이 났습니다 그래서 그때부터 이름이 '미남'이고요

한국은 이름 부를 때 밑에 받침이 있으면

미남+이 이렇게 부르잖아요

수민이 이렇게 부르는 것처럼

그래서 미남이가 됐습니다 미남입니다 이렇게

그렇게 미남이를 만나게 됐고

뭐 당연히 고양이를 키우다 보니까

고양이의 매력들을 너무 많이 알게 되면서부터

저는 완전히 고양이파가 됐습니다

그래가지고 지금부터는...

제 입에 지금 고양이 털이 들어갔는데

현실적인 이야기를 좀 해 볼게요

고양이 키우고 싶으신 분들

한 번쯤은 고양이랑 같이 살아보고 싶다 하시는 분들

이거 듣고 계시는 분들 중에도 계실 것 같아서

제가 생각하는 고양이의 장점과 단점

고양이와 살아가는 삶의 장점과 단점을

지금부터는 이야기해보도록 하겠습니다

우선 장점부터 이야기할까요, 장점?

고양이의 장점은요

우선은 제일 큰 장점은

개인 시간을 많이 사용하지 않아도 된다라는 거예요

이게 오해하실 수도 있는데

시간을 전혀 안 쓴다 이런 거는 아니지만

강아지를 키우시는 분들을 보면 강아지를 중심으로

가족들이 움직이는 것들을 많이 볼 수가 있었거든요

예를 들면 여행을 가야 돼 그러면

강아지를 항상 무조건 데려가야 되니까

강아지가 뭐 지낼 수 있는 숙소를 찾는다던가

그렇게 강아지 위주로 이렇게 여행 코스를 계획하고

움직이고 시간을 관리하고

이런 것들을 많이 봤어요

그리고 하루 스케줄에서도 강아지는 산책을 해줘야 되잖아요

그래서 하루 스케줄에 강아지랑 산책하는 시간은 이때고

이렇게 항상 시간을 내서

함께 보내는 시간이 많아야 좋은 건데

고양이는 음... 시간을 낸다기보다는

그냥 같은 공간에 같이 살아가는 룸메이트 같은 느낌이에요

고양이는 같이 시간을 내고 싶어도

고양이가 막 싫어서 도망가거든요

그런 것처럼 좀 개인 시간을 많이 쓰지 않아도 된다

사람을 그렇게 필요로 하지 않는 동물이다라는 게

또 어떤 사람들에게는 좋은 점이 될 수도 있을 것 같아요

집을, 회사 출퇴근을 해야 되는데

고양이도 물론 외로움을 느낀대요

그래서 너무 오래 비우거나 하면은

또 다른 방법을 마련해 줘야 되겠지만

그래도 강아지 보다는 이렇게 시간을

그렇게 많이 쓸 일이 없다

여행을 다녀올 때도

밥이랑 요런거 챙겨줄 수 있는 지인한테

며칠 정도 한 3일 정도는 부탁을 할 수도 있고

강아지는 주인이 아니면 안 되는 그런 게 있는데

고양이는 솔직히 주인이든

그냥 사람 뭐 저기 옆에 아저씨든

그냥 자기한테 밥을 주고

간식을 주는 사람이면은 뭐 그렇게 크게 신경 쓰지 않거든요

고양이 by 고양이겠지만

그런 좀 습성, 그런 자연적인 성격이 있는 동물이기 때문에

그런 점은 또 장점입니다 확실히

그리고 뭐 냄새가 안 난다?

이것도 장점이에요

강아지는 그 특유의 강아지 냄새가 있거든요

좋아하시는 분들도 있을 것 같은데

좀 어려워 하시는 분들도 있을 것 같아요

그런데 고양이는 무향입니다

향이 없어요 냄새 안 나요

그리고 뭐 화장실 같은 거 처리할 때도

강아지는 뭐 배변 패드를 항상 갈아 줘야 되고

그 대변과 소변이 그대로 있잖아요

강아지의 똥과 오줌이 그대로 있어가지고

그걸... 거기에서 나는 냄새도 있는데

고양이는 그냥 모래통 하나 갖다 놓으면

뭔가 훈련할 필요도 없어요

그냥 자기가 저벅저벅 가서 이렇게 볼일을 보고

알아서 모래를 덮어 놓는단 말이죠

그래서 냄새가 나지 않아요

집에 전혀 그런 냄새가 나지 않는다는 거 이것도 장점이고

음... 그 정도인 것 같습니다

그래서 이런 장점들은 다른 부작용이라고 할까? 장단점?

그 뒤에 숨겨진 좀 아쉬운 점들도 있어요

예를 들면 사람을 너무 필요로 하지 않다 보니까

어쩔 때는 좀 서운할 때도 있어요

나는 이렇게 같이 놀고 싶은데

가까이 가면 도망가고 이럴 때 좀 좀 상처를 받긴 하지만

뭐 그런 점들이 여행 가거나 그럴 때는 안심이 될 때도 있죠

그리고 시간 같은 것도 개인, 룸메이트 같다고 했잖아요

저는 그냥 할 일 하고 얘는 그냥 얘가 하고 싶은 일

고양이가 하고 싶은 일 하고 이러는데

또 어떨 때는 같이 놀아달라고 올 때가 있어요 가끔

또 놀아달라고 오는데

어떻게 놀아줘야 될지 모를 때도 있습니다

고양이는 어떻게 시간을 보내면 즐거운 걸까

이런 걸 저는 십 몇 년 동안 아직 고민하고 있어요

강아지는 조금만 이렇게 공 던져줘도

막 세상에서 가장 행복한 표정을 짓잖아요

고양이는 어려워요

막 진짜 고양이보단 10배로 크게 놀아줘도

그냥 가만히 있어가지고

얘가 지금 즐거운 건가 아닌가 이런게

아직 그 속마음을 알 수가 없어서

어려운 점은 있지만 그런 장점들이 있습니다

그리고 이제 개인적으로

제가 개인적으로 고양이를 좋아하는 이유,

고양이의 매력 포인트라고 생각하는 것에 대해서 이야기를 해볼게요

첫 번째는 고양이는 밀당을 아주 잘한다는 겁니다 밀당

밀당은 밀고 당기기죠

밀고 당기기, 밀당은 보통 연애 테크닉으로 많이 이야기 되는 거거든요

연애를 할 때 너무 막 당기기만 해요

너무 "나 너 좋아! 나 너 사랑해!

나랑만 시간 보내! 나랑만 맨날 같이 있어!"

이렇게 계속 당기기만 하면

상대가 좀 질릴 수 있어요 그런 행동에

"싫어! 나 너랑 좀 떨어지고 싶어! 나만의 시간이 필요해!"

이렇게 오히려 멀어질 수가 있고

또 너무 밀어내요

"우리는 아직 이런 사이는 아닌 것 같아...

아직 우리는 뭐...

여기까지 같이 할 사이는 아닌 것 같아"

이런 식으로 계속 밀어내기만 하다 보면

"뭐야 너 이렇게 이럴 거면 나를 왜 만나

나 싫으면 그냥 나는 다른 사람 만날래!" 휙 하고

또 가버릴 수도 있단 말이죠

그래서 적당히 밀고 당길 줄을 알아야

계속 매력을 느끼고 오래 관계를 유지할 수 있다라는

그런 스킬의 이름입니다 밀당

그런데 이 고양이는 밀당의 고수예요

밀당을 너무 잘해요

항상 제가 "고양이 너무 귀여워!!! 미남아 같이 놀자!!!" 하고

가까이 가면은 진짜 1초도 안 기다려주고

그냥 도망가버리거든요 "저리가!!" 하고 도망가버려요

그런데 또 제가 영상 편집하고 좀 바쁠 때

그럴 때 꼭 옆에 이렇게 은근슬쩍 와가지고

놀아달라는 그런 신호를 보냅니다

그럼 어떡해요 또 놀아줘야죠 너무 행복하니까 그 순간

미남아 드디어 나한테 와준 거야...?🥹✨

"편집 필요없어! 미남아 같이 놀자!!!"

이렇게 시간을 보내는데

그런 밀당을 너무 잘해요

그리고 진짜 귀여운 게 뭔지 알아요?

분명히 사람을 별로 안 좋아하거든요

제가 이렇게 근처에 가면은 막 이렇게 가까이 오지 말라는

이런 행동을 해요

그래서 너는 사람을 안 좋아하는구나

이렇게 생각을 하고 있을 때쯤에

가족들이랑 같이 거실에 모여서

TV 같은 거 보고 있잖아요

그러면 여기 은근히 시야에 이렇게 걸려 있습니다

눈이 각도를 어느 정도까지 볼 수 있는지

저는 정확히 모르겠는데

뭐 한 160도인가? 이 정도 볼 수 있다고 쳐요

그러면 그 끝 쪽,

거의 안 보이는 쪽에 뭔가 이렇게 흰색 뭐가 있어요

그래서 보면은 미남이에요

그래서 은근히 옆에 와가지고 같이 있습니다

근데 너무 가까이 가면은 싫어하고

그런 적당한 거리도 있고

그리고 밀당을 잘하는 거

그런 게 헤어나올 수 없는 매력이라고 생각합니다

그래서 많이 배웁니다 고양이한테

나도 저런 고양이 같은 사람이 되고 싶다

정말 너무 매력적이에요

그런 매력이 가장 크고

그리고 제가 고양이를 좋아하는 이유는

너무너무 작고 소중해요

작고 소중해서 좋아합니다

동물 중에는 훨씬 더 작은 동물들도 있잖아요

햄스터 얼마나 작아요

그런 동물은 제가 안 키워봐서 잘 모르겠는데

고양이도 사람에 비하면 너무 작은 동물이잖아요

그래서 제 주먹, 주먹

묵지빠! 가위바위보 할 때 이 주먹

주먹이 그렇게 큰 편이 아니에요

큰 편이 아닌데 얼굴이 진짜 제 주먹만 합니다

이렇게 작은 얼굴에 눈은 이렇게 (크고)

코, 입 다 들어가 있는 게 너무 귀엽고

그리고 저는 고양이 신체 부위 중에

고양이가 가지고 있는 그 부위 중에 가장 좋아하는 부위가

코랑 입 쪽이에요 코랑 입 쪽

여기가 너무 귀여워요

코에 진짜 작은 콧구멍이 있어요

숨을 쉬는

이렇게 숨쉬는 콧구멍이 있는데

이 콧구멍이 진짜 작은데 거기 안에서 바람이 슉슉 나옵니다

살아있는 생물이라고

"너도 생물이라고 이렇게 숨을 쉬는구나"

그런 걸 볼 때마다 또 심장이 너무 아프고 너무 사랑스럽고요

그리고 고양이 앞니 보신 분들이 있으신가요?

고양이 앞니

보통 고양이를 그릴 때 이런 송곳니를 그리잖아요

뱀파이어 같이 이렇게 송곳니를 그리는데

앞니가 있어요 고양이한테

위에 아래 앞에 이가 한 여섯 개 정도 있거든요

근데 그 앞니가 진짜 작아요

진짜!!

쌀에 한 4분의 1?

크기 정도로 진짜 작은 앞니가 있는데

"너는 왜 있는 거니?

너 뭐 하려고 있는 거니?" 할 정도로 그렇게 작은 앞니를 보면

참 귀엽습니다

어떻게 이런 생물이 있을까?

자연에서 나온 생물인데

눈은 파랗고 코는 핑크색이고

털은 흰색이고 너무 신기하다

보는 그 자체로 경이롭고 행복합니다

이런 장점이 있어요

이게 제가 생각하는 고양이의 장점, 제가 좋아하는 점이고요

이제 단점을 얘기해볼까 하는데

저는 소신발언,

제가 개인적으로 생각하는 의견을 한 가지 이야기하자면

고양이는 단점이 없습니다

고양이는 단점이 없어요

근데 그렇게 얘기하고 싶지만

힘든 점은 있어요 힘든 점

그리고 저는 고양이를 너무 사랑하고

솔직히 뭘 해도 다 귀여워하기 때문에

단점이 없다고는 하지만

저희 가족들이 생각하는 고양이의 단점이 있습니다

저희 가족들은 어쩔 수 없이

저 때문에 고양이를 키우고 있다 보니까

좀 같이 생활하면서 불편한 점, 힘든 점들이 있어요

그런 것들 이런 것들도 또 알아두는 게 중요하거든요

고양이를 처음 데려올 때는 좋은 점만 보면

다 키우고 싶죠 하지만 힘든 점도 확실히 알아두셔야

나중에 끝까지 책임을 지실 수가 있습니다

그래서 미리 알아두면 좋을 힘든 점 먼저 이야기하면

첫 번째가 바로 털입니다 털

제가 방금 아까 이야기를 하면서도

막 얼굴에 얼굴이 간지럽고 뭔가 느껴질 때가 있어요

그러니까 고양이랑 살다 보면은 항상 털이 몸에 붙어 있습니다

뭐 한 가닥 두 가닥 수준이 아니에요

그냥 몸 전체에 털이 붙어있고

얼굴에도 당연히 붙어있고

밥 먹을 때도...

이제는 익숙해져서 그냥 털이 있든지 말든지 먹는데

밥 먹을 때도 아무리 깨끗하게 요리를 해도

털이 한두 가닥씩 꼭 들어있어요

그런 게 좀 깨끗하신 분들, 청결, 위생 이런 게 중요하신 분들은

한번 생각해 보셔야 하는 점입니다

뭐 까만 옷 이런 거는 당연히 입지 못하고

항상 외출할 때 이런 돌돌이 테이프로 청소도 해줘야 되고

저는 근데 좀 귀찮아서

잘 처리를 안 하고 갈 때가 있는데

그러면 이제 저랑 같이 만나는 분들

혹시나 약속이 있을 때는 또 싫어하실 수가 있으니까

그럴 때는 항상 신경을 써줘야 되고

옷 관리 이런 것도 어려울 때가 있고

털이 진짜 어느 정도로 빠지냐면

음... 그 카우보이 영화?

혹시 아세요? 서부 영화?

하는 그런 영화에 보면은

지푸라기가 이렇게 데굴데굴데굴 굴러가는 장면 보신 적 있나요?

뭔가 지푸라기인가? 뭔지 모르겠는데

나뭇잎 같은게 이렇게 대굴대굴 굴러가는 그 장면 보신 적 있나요?

그 정도로 털이 항상 굴러다녀요

청소를 뭐 이틀에 한번 해도

하루에 한번 해도

청소를 끝내고 뭐 10분이 안 지났는데도

그 털이 그냥 대굴대굴 굴러다닙니다

이게 저희 가족들이 가장 힘들어하는 점이자

저희 집에 놀러오시는 친척분들이나

친구들도 좀 놀라는 포인트예요

털 때문에 너무 힘들겠다

이런 말을 자주 들어요

털이 아무래도 좀 힘들고 알레르기 있으신 분들은

또 너무 힘들 것 같아요

저희 오빠가 고양이 알레르기가 있거든요

그런데 사랑으로 극복해낸 케이스인데

알레르기 있으신 분들 당연히 힘들 거고

저는 알레르기 검사를 해보지 않았지만

그래도 고양이랑 너무 오래 놀고

또 고양이를 너무 얼굴 가까이 갖다 대고

이러면 얼굴이 막 간지럽고 빨갛게

뭔가 이렇게 올라올 때가 있어요

그래서 뭐 그런 것들도 일어날 수 있다는 거 알아두셔야 합니다

고양이를 데려오기 전에는 내가 고양이랑 잘 놀 수 있을지

이 털을 감당할 수 있을지 고양이 키우는 분들 집에 가서

한 번 하루 정도 같이 시간을 보내보시는 것도 좋을 것 같아요

저희 집 고양이가 중장모 고양이거든요

털이 완전 장모, 완전 긴 고양이는 아닌데

중간 정도로 장모예요

완전 짧지도 않고 길지도 않고 조금 긴 편

그런 고양이라서 털이 더 많아 보일 수도 있을 것 같은데

제가 듣기로는 털이 짧은 고양이들도 많이 빠진다고 했습니다

이런 게 좀 힘든 점일 수 있고요

그리고 두 번째는 스크래치 같은 문제가 있을 수도 있어요

고양이는 원래 발톱이 있어서

발톱으로 뭔가 이렇게 뜯으면서

스트레스도 풀고 그런 동물이래요

그래서 당연히 저희 집은 멀쩡한 곳이 없습니다

침대, 이불, 커튼, 의자, 벽지 다 뜯어져 있어요

아무리 저런 스크래처를 사줘도 계속 긁어요

어딘가 들어가서 긁고

새로운... 가구가 왔네? 긁고

그게 어쩔 수 없는 고양이의 본능이기 때문에

'가구에 스크래치 나는 거 난 용서할 수 없다'

그러는 분들은 또 고양이는 안 되겠죠

저희 집은 뭐 이미 끝났습니다

이미 의자도 거의 이쑤시개가 될 정도로

많이 얘가 이렇게 갈아 놨고

그런데 음... 뭐 저는 다 사랑으로 극복할 수 있어요

받는, 제가 받는 행복이 더 크기 때문에

저는 상관없다고 하지만

가족분들이 많이 배려를 해주셨죠 저 때문에

그런 스크래치 문제가 있어요

그리고 가끔 고양이들마다 사람을 긁는 경우도 있거든요

이렇게 할퀴거나 발톱이 되게 날카로워요

강아지는 할퀴거나 하진 않잖아요

이렇게 가끔 무는 강아지들은 있지만 할퀴지는 않는 걸로 아는데

고양이는 가끔 할퀴어요

그리고 할퀴려고 하지 않았는데

발톱이 워낙 뾰족하다 보니까

저는 한 번은 이렇게 자다가

얘가 갑자기 흥분해서 막 뛰어다닐 때가 있거든요 고양이가 한 번씩

그걸 한국에서는 '우다다' 라고 하는데 한 번 막 뛰어갔다가

제 얼굴을 확 할퀴어버린 적이 있었어요

그때는 얼굴에 이렇게 크게 상처가 난 적도 있었는데

그런 위험도 당연히 있다는 거 알아두시면 좋겠죠

그리고 세 번째 힘든 점인데

세 번째는 저희 집 고양이만의 문제일 수도 있어요

저희 집 고양이가... 물어요

저희 집 고양이는 뭅니다

그래서 저는 이걸 처음에 데려왔을 때

너무 적응하기가 힘든 거예요

어떻게 내가 이렇게 밥을 주고 놀아주고 이렇게 사랑해 주는데

나를 이렇게 진짜 진심을 다해서 물... 물 수가 있지?

하면서 처음에는 되게 그게 힘들었거든요

그런데 이제는 점점 요령이 생겨서

'아 이 표정을 지을 때는 얘가 물려고 하는 거구나'

그런 것들을 제가 알게 됐어요

그리고 미남이도 좀 크다 보니까

덜 무는 것도 있습니다

제가 지금 이 팟캐스트를 찍고 있는 와중에

카메라 배터리가 좀 없어가지고

요거 충전만 잠깐 하겠습니다 잠시만요

처음 데려왔을 때는 너무 심하게 물었어요 저도 요령이 없었고

어떻게 피하는지 이런 걸 전혀 몰랐고

어느 타이밍에 무는지도 모르니까

그냥 이렇게 자고 있다가 물리는 거예요 자다가

근데 물었는데

막 귀엽게 "앙! 놀아줘!" 앙 무는 게 아니라

진짜로 '너의 팔을 뜯어 먹어야 되겠다'

하는 수준으로 달려들어가지고 물거든요

그래서 제 팔에는 온통 상처가 이렇게 있었고

다른 사람들이 밖에서 보면

걱정할 정도로 팔에 상처가 있었습니다

요즘도 가끔 물려서 팔에 상처들이 남아있고

다리나 이런 곳들에 상처가 있어요

저는 이제는 덜 물리는데

저희 가족들이 가끔씩 한번 크게 물립니다

그럴 땐 정말 면목이 없어요

"고양이가 물기 전에 잘 피해야 돼!"

뭐 이런.. "이런 행동할 때는 무는 거니까 잘 도망가야 돼"

라고 알려주긴 하지만 어떻게 할 수가 없어요

그냥... 고양이는 훈련이 안 되거든요

강아지는 아무리 말을 안 듣는 강아지라고 해도

그 강아지 트레이너가 있잖아요

강아지 트레이너가 뭐 이렇게 간식도 주고

이렇게 훈련을 해서 조금 바꿀 수가 있는데

고양이는 훈련이 되는 동물이 아니란 말이에요

가끔 가다가 유튜브나 이런 데 보면

손! 돌아! 누워! 이런 거 하는 고양이 본 적 있는데

그거는 외계인

그... 돌연변이 원래는 있을 수 없는 일인데 일어난 기적,

미라클이라고 생각하고

고양이는 훈련할 수 없어요

제가 12년간 많이 시도를 해봤지만 안 고쳐져요

그래서 고양이마다 또 다른 성격이 있을 수 있거든요

밤새도록 운다거나 뛰어다닌다거나

아니면 뭐 할퀸다거나 그런 게 있을 수 있는데

그런 거 고치기가 상당히 어렵고

이제 거기에 맞춰서 내가 조금 요령을 터득해야 된다

하는 것도 좀 힘든 점이 될 수 있을 것 같아요

그리고 이제 마지막으로 힘든 거는

아무래도 아플 때

아플 때나 병원 갈 때가 좀 힘들어요

동물을 처음 키우고 이런 생물을 내가 처음 키우다 보니까

멘탈이 강해야 하는 순간들이 옵니다

예를 들면 고양이 약 먹이는 게

어떻게 먹이는지 아세요?

알약 같은 거를 고양이들이 먹어야 될 때가 있는데

강아지는 어떻게 간식에 잘 숨기면 잘 먹기도 하는데

저희 집 고양이는 아무리 간식에 섞어줘도

잘 안 먹어요 그래서 알약에 넣어서 먹여야 되는데...

입을 이렇게 벌린 다음에 주사기가 있어요

그 주사기로 알약을 목구멍 안에 쑤셔 넣어서

순식간에 삼키게 해야 됩니다

그런 일을 처음 하잖아요 저도

그러니까 처음에는 너무 무서워가지고

이걸 어떻게 해ㅜㅜ'

그래서 멘탈이 많이 흔들렸던 때가 있는데

아직도 흔들려요 사실은 알약 먹이는 거 잘 못해요

그런 것들이 좀 필요할 때가 있죠

나중에 미남이가 더 아파지면

수액 같은 거 주사를 놓거나 하는 일이 생길 수도 있는데

그런 간호사분들이 하시는 일들

그런 거를 해야만 하는 순간이 올 수도 있고

병원 데려가기가 힘듭니다

저희 집 고양이만 그런 걸 수도 있어요

저희 집 고양이가 병원 트라우마가 한번 생겼습니다

그 병원에 원래 되게 착한 고양이였어요

순한 고양이라고 하죠 착하고

그냥 이렇게 뭐 하던지 말던지 이렇게 앉아있는

Chill guy 같은 고양이였는데

한번 피를 빼는 검사를 하는데

그 간호사분이 얘가 피가 잘 안 나온 건지

한 세 번 바늘을 찔렀는데도 실패를 하신 적이 있어요

그때 얘가 갑자기 스위치가 탁 켜지면서

다른 동물이 한 번 된 적이 있거든요

원래 고양이잖아요 고양이인데 갑자기

야생 호랑이로 변한 적이 있어요

여러분 주토피아 보셨나요?

주토피아가 동물들이 살아가는 세계에 대한 이야기잖아요

그게 동물들이 야생성, 자연에서 살아가는 성격이 다 없어지고

완전 인간처럼 두 발로 서서 다니고 그런 동물의 세계인데

어느 순간 블루베리 총 같은 게 개발이 돼요

근데 그 총에 맞으면 갑자기 야생성이 깨어나면서

야생동물로 바뀌는 그런 애니메이션인데

진짜 딱 그 블루베리 총에 맞은 것처럼

얘가 갑자기 야생 호랑이가 된 거예요

그래서 막 사람들 다... 할퀴고

도망다니고 소리 이상한 소리 내고

그래서 그때 저도 너무 충격받고 얘도 너무 놀라고

그때부터 병원 갈 때마다 그렇게 야생 호랑이로 변해요

병원 한번 데려갈 때마다 이 작은 야생 호랑이를 계속

제가 케어를 해야 되고

처음부터 끝까지 좀 진정시키고 달래고 하는

그 모든 과정이 좀 힘이 많이 드는 과정입니다

진이 빠지는 그런 과정이에요

그래서 그런 것들을 해야 되고

동물이나 생물이나 생명이나 다 키우다 보면

시작과 끝이 있고 중간중간 아플 때도 있기 때문에

그런 것들도 분명히 있다는 거

그 각오도 필요하다는 거를 이야기해드리고 싶었습니다

뭐 이런 장점, 힘든 점 이야기해봤지만

저는 고양이를 12년 정도 키우고 있어요

지금 미남이가 12살 정도인데

12년 동안 단 하루도 후회한 적이 없고요

아마도 아직은 잘 모르긴 하지만

아마도 계속해서 고양이를 키우지 않을까

저는 그렇게 생각해요

제가 미남이를 만나고 배운 점들이 좀 있어요

고양이라는 생명을 12년 동안 키우면서

제가 느끼고 배운 점들이 있는데

세 가지 정도가 있거든요

첫 번째는 책임, 책임지는 거

책임감을 배웠고

두 번째는 이해심, 동물이라는 것은 어떤 건지

고양이라는 동물을 이해할 수 있는 거

하나의 생명을 좀 이해할 수 있는 그런 이해심을 배웠고

세 번째는 무한한, 무조건적인 사랑

그런 것도 배웠습니다

한 가지씩 좀 이야기를 해보면

첫 번째는 책임감이죠

저는 미남이를 떠올렸을 때 같이 떠오르는

또 하나의 키워드는 책임감이거든요

지금 우리 미남이는 이렇게 부모님 집에서 살고 있긴 하지만

저는 최대한 미남이를 일주일 이상 안 본 적이 거의 없어요

제가 12년간 딱 제일 오래 미남이랑 떨어져 있었던 게

두 달이었거든요

두 달 동안 제가 미국으로 뭔가

학교 활동으로 가게 될 일이 있었어가지고

그때 두 달 동안 집을 비웠고

뭐 가끔씩 여행갈 때 일주일 이렇게는 집을 비워봤지만

1년, 2년 이렇게 집을 비우지 않았던 게

저는 지금 가족들이 돌봐주고 있지만

그래도 미남이를 계속 케어해주고 신경 써주고

상태를 체크하고 이렇게 해야 된다는 책임감이 생겼어요

어...

저는 미남이가 제 고양이라고 생각하거든요

저희 가족의 고양이가 아니라

제 고양이이기 때문에

살다 보면 지역을 멀리 가야 할 일이 생기거나

아니면 일 때문에 오래 집을 비워야 한다거나

그래서 다른 사람한테 부탁을 해야 된다거나

해야 되는 상황이 올 수도 있어요

그리고 부탁드릴 사람이 있다는 거는

또 너무 감사하고 좋은 일이죠

저도 부모님한테 너무 감사하고 그런데

그래도 저는 매주 미남이를 보기 위해서

아무리 제가 멀리 떨어졌다고 해도

매주 미남이를 보기 위해서

이렇게 부모님 집에 오고 있고

와서 해줄 게 많거든요

귀 안에 다른 문제는 없는지

어디 아픈 데는 없는지

발톱 같은 거는 많이 길었는지

깎아야 되는지 이런 것도 다 체크해야 되고

항상 상태를 봐야 돼요

밥은 떨어진 거 없는지

뭐 그런 걸 다 제가 관리를 해야 되기 때문에

저는 미남이가 죽을 때까지

끝까지 책임져야 된다 그렇게 생각하고 있어요

근데 이거는 미남이를 위해서 그런다기보다는

사실 저를 위해서 그런 거예요

제가... 데려오고 싶어서 데려온 고양이고

이렇게 제가 아니면 어딘가에서

더 행복하게 살 수도 있는 그런 동물인데

저의 욕심으로 이렇게 데려와서 키우고 있는 거니까

미남이가 죽을 때 제가 못해줬던 것들,

같이 시간을 못 보냈던 것들 이런 걸 생각하면

제가 너무 힘들 것 같은 거예요

그래서 그런 후회나 미안함

이런 것들을 좀 덜 느끼고 싶어서

저는 미남이를 끝까지 책임져야지 하는 마음이 있는 것 같아요

그래서 진짜 미남이를 키우면서

한 생명을 데려와서 키운다는 거에 대한 그 무게,

얼마나 많은 것들을 책임지고 해야 되는 건지

그런 거를 배웠습니다

그래서 워킹홀리데이나 유학이나

이런 것들 한 번쯤은 가보고 싶었고

그리고 저희 부모님도 아마 제가 그런 거 가고 싶다 하면은

'어 그러면 다녀와라

미남이는 우리가 돌봐줄게' 라고 하시겠지만

그래도 저는 끝까지 미남이가 죽을 때까지라도, 만이라도

죽을 때까지만이라도 함께 최대한 많은 시간을 보내주고 싶다

하는 그런 마음, 그런 책임감을 배웠습니다

그리고 두 번째는 이해심이었죠

동물이라는 걸 이해하는 마음

다른 생명을 이해하는 마음을 좀 배웠어요

제가 미남이한테 단점이 없다

고양이한테 단점이 없다라고 얘기했던 것도 그런 거예요

동물은 그냥 이런 생명이에요

그냥 사람을, 사람이 아니라 뭔가 눈에 보이는 게 있으면

뜯고 놀고 싶으면 물어서 마음을 표현하고

그것도 있었네, 힘든 점 중에 얘기를 못한 게

고양이가 야행성이거든요

그래서 밤 5시, 6시 새벽에 엄청 울고 사람들을 깨워요

그것도 가족들이 힘들어하는 점인데

고양이는 그런 동물이잖아요

근데 이거를 막 '고양이는 왜 저러는 거야'

'왜 아침마다 이렇게 깨우는 거야' 이렇게 괴로워할 수도 있지만

내가 나의 욕심으로 이런 동물을 데려온 거니까

거기에 대한 불만을 가질 수가 없는 거죠

그거를 딱 느끼게 되면서

내가 이런 마음으로 다른 사람들을 바라보면

정말 화날 게 하나도 없겠다 하는 것도 좀 알게 됐어요

물론 그게 힘들지만

이렇게 다른 사람은 그냥 그런 사람이고

그런 사람이 어떤 행동을 한다고 해서

내가 거기에 이래라 저래라 할 수 없구나 하는 것들을 이해하게 된다면

나는 세상에 미워할 게 없겠다 이런 생각이 들 정도로

고양이를 만나고 나면서 고양이는 이런 동물이고

그런 거를 이해하기 시작하니까

뭐 밉거나 힘들거나 하는 거 없이

그저 러브, 사랑만 남게 됐습니다

그래서 이렇게 다른 동물 아니면 다른 존재를

있는 그대로 좀 이해할 수 있게 됐다는 거

그런 것도 배울 수가 있었고

이제 마지막이 무한한 사랑

그리고 무조건적인 사랑 라고 했잖아요

그게 이어지는 이야기예요

고양이를 무조건적으로 사랑하게 되는 걸 느꼈는데

고양이는 저에게 해주는 게 없거든요 냉정하게 보면

고양이는 그저 고양이의 인생을 살 뿐이고

제가 고양이한테 해주는 것처럼

밥을 주거나 같이 놀아주거나 시간을 보내주거나

제가 힘들 때 위로를 해주거나

같이 상담을 해주거나 얘기를 해주거나

그런 거 하나도 해주지 않아요

그저 살아 숨쉬고 건강하게 있는 것뿐인데

그 자체로 너무 감사하고 너무 사랑스러운 마음?

그런 걸 알게 됐다거나 할까요?

제가 어디서 봤는데 강아지나 고양이한테는

이런 사랑을 느끼시는 분들이 많대요

무조건, 조건 없이 사랑하는 마음

근데 그게 다른 인간,

사람한테는 하기 어려운 이유가

말을 하기 때문이래요

사람은 말을 하기 때문에 무조건적인 사랑을 하기가 힘들고

동물은 말을 못해서 그...

말을 하다 보면 사람한테 상처를 주기도 하고

엄청 여러 가지 감정을 줄 수가 있는데

고양이나 강아지는 그런 걸 못 하니까

이렇게 조건 없이 좋아하기만 할 수 있다

내가 마음대로 해석하는 거잖아요

그래서 그렇다라는 것도 들어본 적이 있는데

음... 그래요 말을 할 수 없어서

불편한 점도 있지만 그거 때문인지 아니면 뭐 그냥

제가 이런 관계를 이해하게 된 건지 모르겠지만

'아 정말 어떤 존재를 이렇게 조건 없이 사랑할 수가 있구나'

이렇게 예쁘고 사랑스러울 수가 있구나 하는 것도

고양이를 키워보지 않았으면 몰랐을 감정인 것 같아요

그래서 저희 집 고양이가 지금 12살이라고 했죠

그래서 이제는 고양이가 완전 사람 나이로 치면은 할아버지 나이예요

정확히 몇 살인지는 모르겠는데

고양이의 평균 수명이 몇 년인지 아시나요?

고양이는 평균 13년을 산다고 해요

근데 저희 집 고양이 지금 12년이니까

1년밖에 안 남았어요 평균 수명으로 생각하면

그래서 같이 보낼 수 있는 시간이

많이는 남지 않았다라는 걸 알고 있기 때문에

매일매일 귀여워하고 더 맛있는 거 주려고 하고

아무리 제가 좀 바쁜 일이 있어도 놀아 달라고 오면

같이 시간 보내 주려고 하고 그런 요즘인데

사실 고양이를 처음 데려올 때부터

부모님께서 제일 걱정하시던 게 그거였어요

'너 얘를 그렇게 예뻐하고

잘 키우다가 얘가 죽으면 어떡할래?

죽으면 너무 힘들 거다

너가 너무 힘들어 할 거니까 그런 걸 보기가

우리가 너무, 우리도 너무 힘들어서 데려오기가 좀 어려울 것 같다'

그렇게 반대를 하셨었거든요

그래도 저는 "아니야!!!"

일단 데려오는 게 목적이었으니까

"아니야 끝까지 잘 키울게!!" 해서 데려왔어요

그래서 요즘 하는 생각으로 마무리를 해보면

우선 이거는 아까 동물에 대한 이해랑 좀 비슷한 맥락인데

고양이는 13년밖에 못 사는 동물이잖아요

그래서, 뭐 슬프겠죠

미남이가 이렇게 뒤에 항상 있던 미남이가 없어지면

하늘나라로 가면 당연히 슬프고 힘들겠지만

그래도 너무 13년 동안

제가 받은 게 너무 많아요

미남이가 뭘 해주진 않았지만

제가 받은 위로들과 행복과 기쁨, 즐거움, 웃음 웃었던 일들

이런 것들이 너무 너무 많기 때문에

그것 때문에 후회를 하거나

좀 데려오지 말 걸 그랬다 키우지 말 걸 그랬다

라는 생각은 안 하고 싶어요 안 하고 싶어요

그냥 솔직히 13년 사는 동물이

13년 동안 살아준 것만 해도 너무 감사한 일 아닙니까

저는 그렇게 생각하려고

벌써부터 저는 그렇게 마음을 약간 준비를 하고 있는 거죠

그렇게 마음을 먹고 있습니다

슬프겠지만 13년 사는 동물이고

이게 이 동물의 수명이고 내가 이런 동물을 데려왔으면

이 동물에게 있는 같이 보낼 수 있는 그 시간 동안

최선을 다해서 시간을 보내주는 것밖에는 없다

그렇게 생각하고 있습니다

그래서 또 뭐 평균 수명은 13년 이라고 하는데

되게 웃겼던 게

기네스북에 올라간 고양이들이 있더라구요

되게 오래 오래 살아서 기네스북에 올라간 고양이들이 있는데

그 고양이들의 나이를 보면

막 40살 이러는 거에요 막 35... 이래서

그 편차가 너무 크잖아요

13살이랑 40살? 그 차이가 너무 커 가지고

뭐야, 그러면 몇 년까지 산다는 거야? 라고 생각을 했는데

저희집 고양이도 아직 너무너무 건강하거든요

너무 건강하고 잘 놀고

그래서 뭐 큰 걱정은 지금까지 없긴 하지만

사람도 그렇고 고양이도 그렇고

음 나이가 들면 갑자기 아프잖아요

그래서 네... 그런거는 좀 마음의 준비를 하고 있는 단계입니다

그래서 제가 고양이를 미남이 다음에도 또 키워 보고 싶다

계속 키우고 싶다 라고 말씀은 드렸는데

사실 혼자는 못 키울 것 같아요

제가 진짜 혼자고 지금도 도와주시는 가족분들이 있긴 하지만

좀 혼자 키우는 기분은 있어요

혼자 이 아이를 이제 죽고 나서는 어떻게 할 건지

그리고 아플 때는 뭐 이런이런 대비를 해야겠다 하는

그런 생각들 있잖아요

그런 계획들 그런 것들을 다 혼자 좀 감당을 하고 있고

미남이가 아플 때도 이런... 대화를 하면서

'어떻게 하면 좋을까' 이렇게 풀어갈 수 있는 상대가

지금은... 미남이를 저만큼 아끼는 사람이 없기 때문에

그런게 좀 힘들 때가 있기 때문에

나중에 저처럼 이렇게 그 고양이를

이렇게까지 사랑해 줄 수 있는 누군가가 있다면

같이 키워 볼 수 있었으면 좋겠다는 생각은 하고 있습니다

혼자 그 고양이의 처음과 끝을 다 감당하는 것은

어 너무 행복한 길이었지만 좀 힘든 경험들도 있었다

누가 같이 있었으면 좋겠다 그런 생각은 몇 번 했었습니다

그래서 제 지금 목표는요

지금 저희 부모님 집에서 저희 집이 그렇게 멀지 않아요

제가 자주 왔다 갔다 하고 싶어서

가까운 곳으로 집을 구했는데

아쉽게도 그 집은 고양이를 키울 수가 없는 집이에요

그래서 저의 다음 목표는

고양이를 키울 수 있는 집으로 이사를 가서

미남이의 마지막을 제가 함께 잘 보낼 수 있는 게

저의 지금의 목표랍니다
