Hi everyone! 00:12
How are you doing? 00:13
It's Aileen from Lavendaire. 00:14
Today I want to talk about 11 ways that self love will change your life. 00:15
And I promise you: It will change your life, because these are all things 00:20
that have happened to me. 00:24
These are ways that I've just become aware of 00:25
how I've transformed over the years, how self love has really made a positive change 00:28
for me and my life. 00:33
I honestly believe that self love and gratitude are the root of happiness. 00:35
Those are two things that, if you can practice them daily, then you'll be so happy. 00:40
Your life will be amazing already, with just those two things. 00:45
By the way, if you're new here, I'd appreciate if you click "Subscribe" 00:47
and click that bell down below. 00:51
I make a lot of videos on how to create your dream life, 00:52
so it's a really awesome community here. 00:56
Alright, here are the 11 ways that self love will change your life. 00:58
1. 01:02
Health. 01:03
When you truly love yourself, you're gonna take better care of your body 01:04
and your well-being. 01:07
You'll eat better, you'll exercise more, just out of respect 01:09
for your own body because you know your body's working really hard to keep you alive 01:12
and just letting you live your life. 01:17
You're gonna take care of your body in return. 01:19
So when you love yourself, you prioritize self care because you know that 01:21
your mental well-being is also just as important as your physical well-being 01:26
2. 01:30
Relationships. 01:31
You may have heard of the saying "We accept the love we think we deserve". 01:33
When you have high quality love for yourself, then you set that standard 01:37
to accept high quality love from others. 01:41
So you start to have low tolerance for people 01:44
who don't value you or respect you, because when you respect yourself, 01:47
then others will respect you too. 01:52
So it's kind of like "Like attracts like". 01:54
Whatever feelings and emotions you have towards yourself, you're gonna attract 01:56
more of that to you. 02:00
And anything that doesn't match that feeling, you're gonna repel it, 02:01
you know? 02:05
If you love yourself and someone treats you poorly, you’re gonna be like, 02:06
"Uh uh, I don't have time for that." 02:09
You know what I mean? 02:11
3. 02:13
Confidence. 02:14
Self love definitely boosts your confidence. 02:15
Because you've learned to love, appreciate, embrace everything that you are, 02:17
then you're no longer insecure or ashamed about any of it. 02:21
You might recognize 02:25
that you still have flaws and imperfections, things that you can work on, 02:26
but you still love yourself regardless. 02:29
When you're confident, you flaunt what you've got. 02:32
You feel beautiful, you feel powerful, you hold your head up high and you have more fun 02:35
in life. 02:39
4. 02:40
Along with confidence comes more style and swag. 02:41
When your self love is high, 02:45
you develop this distinct style that is uniquely you, and that is because 02:46
you've grown to know yourself. 02:50
You've grown to know your tastes, your aesthetics, 02:52
and basically you know what you like and you aren't afraid to show it. 02:55
This basically manifests in having a more unique style, 02:59
being more confident in how you express yourself in your daily life. 03:02
5. 03:06
Self love will also change your relationships with your friends and family. 03:07
So just a couple examples: Instead of saying yes to people and being a people-pleaser 03:10
all the time, you're gonna be able to say no instead, because you value yourself, 03:15
you value your time, and you want to protect your energy as well. 03:20
Having more self love will also make it easier for you to forgive others who have hurt you. 03:24
Instead of holding any grudges or being angry at someone for a long time, 03:29
having self love will teach you to forgive. 03:34
And it's kind of a selfish reason for that. 03:37
It's because, when you love yourself, you don't want yourself to continue hurting over 03:39
anything that's happened in the past. 03:44
You don't want yourself to suffer at the expense of others. 03:46
Even if this person doesn't deserve forgiveness or whatever, you forgive 03:49
just so that you can have a clean slate, you can have inner peace, 03:53
because you love yourself. 03:57
And all you want is for yourself to be happy. 03:58
6. 04:01
And this brings me to my next point. 04:02
Having more self love will make you happier. 04:03
And this is kind of a given, but it’s worth mentioning. 04:06
Think about, when you love someone, 04:09
you truly want them to be happy. 04:11
Think about, if you love yourself, 04:14
you truly want yourself to be happy. 04:16
So you'll do anything that you can to make yourself happy. 04:18
So instead of feeling like you're pulled by societal pressures, what your parents will 04:22
think of you, 04:28
what your friends will think of you, you do what's best for yourself because you love 04:29
yourself. 04:33
Having self love will give you the courage to step into the life that you want to be 04:34
in, 04:38
instead of being influenced by others. 04:39
Because you love yourself, 04:42
you'll do anything you can to make yourself happy. 04:43
7. 04:46
Self love will also give you more drive and motivation in life. 04:47
When you have this feeling 04:50
that you have a high self worth, then you're gonna believe in yourself even more. 04:52
You're gonna believe that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. 04:57
Having this belief makes you feel more invincible, it makes you feel more powerful and strong. 05:01
And because of that, you have a lot more drive and motivation to do bigger things in the 05:07
world. 05:11
You won't settle for any less because you know that you can accomplish so much more. 05:12
8. 05:15
Another major perk of self love is that you're gonna care so much less 05:16
about what other people think of you and what other people say about you, 05:19
because I know that, when you feel insecure, you're so easily swayed 05:23
by what other people have to say. 05:27
You're easily hurt by what other people say 05:28
because you're like, "Oh my god, is it true? 05:30
Are they right?" 05:33
But in reality, no, they're not right. 05:34
If you truly love yourself, then you see your self worth and you're not gonna 05:37
take that hate from anybody. 05:42
Positive vibes only, okay? 05:44
So you're gonna learn 05:45
to keep only the people who truly love you and support you in your inner circle. 05:46
Whatever happens outside of that doesn't matter anymore. 05:51
9. 05:53
If you ever fail or mess up, instead of being hard on yourself, you're gonna learn 05:54
to be kinder and more gentler to yourself. 05:58
That's the magic of love, 06:01
is that everything is always going to be okay. 06:02
Think of how you would treat a loved one 06:05
when they mess up or fail. 06:07
You're gonna treat them with kindness. 06:09
You're gonna say, 06:11
you know, "It's okay. 06:12
Try again tomorrow." 06:13
That's because love is compassionate 06:14
and love is forgiving. 06:16
Instead of beating yourself up over messing up or, I don't know, 06:18
just being so hard on yourself, you're gonna learn to treat yourself kindly 06:22
and give yourself more love because you truly love and care about yourself. 06:27
10. 06:31
When you truly love yourself, you won't need to feel insecure or compare yourself to others. 06:32
Because you love yourself, you can love others openly as well. 06:37
So you're more supportive, 06:40
instead of jealous and envious. 06:42
And you know that life doesn't have to be a competition. 06:44
You don't have to be competing with everyone because everyone has unique value. 06:47
Everyone brings something unique to the table. 06:52
So you stand strong in who you are 06:54
and you own that. 06:55
With that, you're confident, but also humble 06:57
because you won't feel the need to have to prove yourself all the time. 07:00
11. 07:03
Most importantly, self love will set you free. 07:04
Think about it. 07:06
What can hold you back 07:07
when you are your own best friend, genuinely loving and supporting yourself 07:08
throughout your entire life journey? 07:13
Literally nothing and no one can hold you back 07:16
when you truly love yourself. 07:18
So you're free to step into your greatness, 07:20
you’re free to be fabulous, you're free to be a light in the world. 07:22
You're free to be yourself. 07:26
Self love is the beginning of allowing yourself to blossom into everything that you are. 07:28
It's so important and I hope that this video shines some light on how impactful self love 07:34
can be 07:39
and how we can all learn to cultivate self love, because it's a lifelong practice. 07:40
Now I'd love to know: What ways has self love changed your life? 07:45
