Hey, what's going on everybody for First 00:14
We Feast. I'm Sean Evans and you're 00:16
watching Hot Ones. It's the show with 00:17
hot questions and even hotter wings. And 00:19
today we're joined by Jenny. She's a 00:21
chart topping record-breaking global pop 00:23
star who just released her debut studio 00:25
album. It's called Ruby and Includes the 00:27
breakout hits Like Jenny and Mantra. But 00:29
how do pretty girls handle spicy wings? 00:31
I guess only time will tell. Jenny, 00:33
welcome to the show. Thank you for 00:34
having me, Sean. I am very happy and 00:36
excited and scared to be here. 00:39
How are you around spicy food? Before we 00:42
get started, are you someone who enjoys 00:44
little heat? In my daily life, I have no 00:45
nothing no spice in my life. I don't I 00:49
don't like spicy food or anything to do 00:52
with spice. If anything, I like things 00:55
plain. But here I am, and there's no 00:58
fear. No turning back. That's exactly 01:01
right. Are you ready to get started? I 01:03
am. 01:06
[Music] 01:12
Oh, we're going right in. 01:25
Here we go. Okay. 01:28
[Music] 01:30
[Music] 01:36
M. 01:38
It smells good. 01:40
[Music] 01:42
Nine to go. 01:46
So, I understand that your album Ruby is 01:48
inspired in part by the 16th century 01:50
William Shakespeare play, As You Like 01:53
It. I'm curious, what kind of connection 01:55
did you make between your own journey 01:58
and Shakespeare's exploration of the 01:59
stages of life? 02:02
When I first read the play and saw how 02:03
they broke down into seven different 02:07
stages, 02:09
what I was coming from was also the 02:11
seven years of being in a group of 02:13
Blackpink and um how every little event 02:15
has changed me over time. I've had my 02:19
ups and downs. I've had my roller 02:22
coaster emotions of when I loved music, 02:24
when I hated music and and every moments 02:27
in between was was the important things 02:30
that got me here. So, I started just 02:33
breaking myself down and I guess it just 02:35
inspired me to look at myself in a 02:38
different way and and really dive into 02:41
what got me here and who I am. If that 02:45
makes sense. I am following you all the 02:48
way. 02:52
And you'll take me on a journey. I'll 02:53
take you on a journey. If you're ready 02:55
to move on here to wing number two. Oh 02:57
yes. I'm ready. I'm actually excited for 02:59
wing two. 03:02
[Music] 03:03
Just winging it. Okay. You know what 03:08
though? I'm going to try my best and 03:10
keep my calm. I'm not going to overreact 03:13
over spice, you know. I like I like that 03:17
you're making this claim on wing two. 03:20
We'll see how it goes. Okay. All right. 03:24
It's it's it's now here. I feel like I 03:27
met Hot Ones now. Yep. Mhm. The party 03:29
started. Mhm. It has started. Okay. It's 03:32
good though. So, I think it's really 03:34
interesting and honest when you talk 03:36
about making this record, you make it 03:38
very clear that it was not at all an 03:40
easy process. When you think about the 03:42
creative decisions that went into 03:44
putting together this album, is there 03:46
something that you're particularly proud 03:48
to have fought for on the album's 03:49
behalf? Um, yes, so many things. 03:51
So, I had to fight for a few of the 03:56
songs and honestly the whole core 03:58
message to begin with, we didn't have to 04:01
forcefully make the music easy for 04:04
people to like this album. let me try 04:06
and do what I like and what I convince 04:08
myself to do to to get to people. And a 04:10
lot of the songs on this album, I really 04:14
had to fight for it. 04:16
Especially a song like Zen, a song like 04:19
Starlight, 04:22
which I understand that it might not be 04:25
the first thing that could pop up in 04:28
people's mind, but I knew that it would 04:30
touch the people that I want to touch. 04:32
I saw a few episodes where people start 04:39
getting from the third wing. 04:42
It gets you kind of in the back. But I 04:46
can survive. I see it. You know what? 04:50
I'm so proud of myself right now. I'm so 04:52
proud. Thank you. I got I'm here in the 04:55
third wing and I'm surviving. Having the 04:58
best more than surviving. Mhm. 05:00
Can you describe something that you've 05:03
learned from a vocal coach that you 05:04
think has really helped you as a singer? 05:06
Like whether it's something physical 05:07
like jaw position or something 05:09
psychological like a mental hurdle you 05:11
had to overcome. Like is there a lesson 05:13
that you hold close? I remember 05:14
this was in LA with my vocal coach and 05:19
on our very first day on our very first 05:22
session, he had me just stood there and 05:25
look out the window and just scream as 05:28
loud as I can. It wasn't to scream in 05:31
the most beautiful voice or to be the 05:34
loudest. It was to get to that state of 05:37
releasing everything that's kind of 05:40
holding you up. I don't know if this 05:42
could help anyone, but it did for me. 05:44
So, there's so many tricks and, you 05:46
know, things that you could do to prep 05:49
your vocals and and to get you to the 05:51
next level, but this could be your very 05:54
first one of your first steps is to you 05:56
need to be able to just let go. Just pop 05:59
open that window. Yeah. And no fear. 06:01
Like, look at me now. I I see that. 06:05
Yeah. 06:08
Come on. This one doesn't even look 06:13
spicy. I'm disappointed. 06:14
M 06:23
I see. Mhm. It's not the color that 06:27
matters. Looks can be deceiving. You 06:30
know, 06:33
it does have another level to it. It's 06:34
kicking. Yeah, I know. It's kicking me 06:36
on my tongue. Oh my god. 06:39
Not disappointed, right? Uhuh. That's 06:43
right. Oh, what's happening? 06:45
It's just, you know, when you were like, 06:48
I I'm at Hot Ones. You know, this is the 06:50
party. Unfortunately, the party just 06:52
gets it gets louder. It gets more 06:55
intense. Oh my god. People come in. 06:57
Yeah. It's coming at me. 07:01
So recently you ran through almost the 07:06
entirety of Ruby during your performance 07:08
at Coachella. What do you learn about 07:10
your own music by performing it live? 07:12
Like do fans react to certain songs or 07:14
lyrics in ways that surprise you? I've 07:17
never released an album with with 15 07:20
songs inside 07:22
and it's still kicking my tongue. I 07:24
know. And you know what? I'm not going 07:26
to lie to you, Jenny. That is just where 07:27
we're at. All right. That's just the 07:30
show. All right. Got it. But but my 07:31
favorite part is when they when they 07:34
just start screaming the lyrics of the 07:37
songs that never made it as a single and 07:40
you call that a B bside track, right? 07:44
Yeah. Yeah. Right. 07:46
It's a whole different term in Korean, a 07:48
bside track. And they're just screaming 07:50
it in lyrics from the top to the end. 07:53
And that's that's when you really feel 07:57
like, oh, they really do listen to your 08:00
album. They really do listen to your 08:02
music. It's shooting at me. No, from all 08:04
sides. The walls are closing in. Oh, 08:07
yeah. Thankfully, you have the tea. Does 08:09
tea help? I guess I see people drinking 08:12
milk. Should I be drinking milk? Maybe 08:14
milk is the move in times like these. 08:16
Yeah. 08:18
[Music] 08:22
Oh, mustard. Mustard is friendly. 08:25
So, I asked Lisa this question. I'm 08:31
curious if maybe you have any advice. Is 08:33
there a Korean beauty tip that I should 08:35
incorporate into my skincare routine? I 08:38
think it's all about the consistenc 08:41
consist consistency. 08:45
[Music] 08:47
Um, it's the dedication that they put. I 08:49
don't think it has anything to do with 08:51
anything. There's no secret magic. I 08:52
don't believe it's the fact that they 08:54
care so much and they they are dedicated 08:56
to keep their skin healthy is the key 09:00
for me. And if I I say this to all my 09:02
friends and everyone, but drink lots of 09:06
water. Drink lots of water. And then I 09:08
got to wear that mask every day. Yeah. 09:10
Daily. Hydration. 09:11
Okay. This one is yellow. 09:18
H 09:27
I'm just so good. Oh my god. I don't 09:30
know what I was afraid of. You had this 09:34
dog inside you the whole time. I'm so 09:37
surprised. 09:39
I have been talking about coming on this 09:41
show for the past two weeks. Like 09:43
nervous about it. I I was telling all my 09:46
friends, I'm going all out once and I 09:48
don't like spicy food. I don't know what 09:49
to do. 09:51
But all you had to do is face it. 09:52
Exactly. You know, you psych yourself 09:54
up. You know, we build these walls 09:56
ourselves. We do. But you just had to 09:58
come into the studio, throw down on some 10:00
wings. I am. Face it. I'm honest kind of 10:03
disappointed, Sean. Ooh, 10:06
I had high hopes. Well, let's see. I'm 10:10
wearing waterproof mascara. 10:14
Um, so this one is called appraat. 10:18
Okay. I don't love the name. Emphasis on 10:21
the hot. I can see it right there on the 10:23
label. Mhm. 10:26
We get a good bite. 10:29
[Music] 10:31
There is definitely some spice in my 10:38
mouth, but I can deal with it. 10:40
So, yeah. Can you give me two things you 10:43
love and one thing you don't about being 10:46
a hamster mom? Two things I love and one 10:48
thing you don't. 10:52
First of all, they are adorable and so 10:54
funny to look at and fluffy is number 10:59
one. Second part is you get to feed them 11:03
which is also really fun 11:06
and cute. And one thing I don't like 11:09
about it is they are constantly 11:11
constantly running on that wheel and 11:14
does not stop. Even if you want some 11:16
peace of mind, they're like, "No, I'm 11:19
going to do my cardio of the day." Oh, 11:21
this is Oh, we here at the the bomb 11:24
beyond insanity. 11:27
Take a photo of me in case this might be 11:31
the last last little beef that I take. 11:34
It's the bottom. Okay, this one looks 11:39
scary, too. I know. 11:41
Oh, no. This is no joke. 11:54
You're scrambling trying to find 11:59
something, anything over there. That's 12:01
smart. Got a new napkin. 12:03
This is I know. Go ahead. Get up, take a 12:06
lap, do whatever you have to do. 12:10
Walk it out. Just open that window and 12:15
scream. You know, in times like these. 12:18
That's all right. 12:22
So, I'm a big fan of the uh cooking 12:26
tutorials that you do. 12:30
[Music] 12:34
I did. 12:35
What's the key to folding a perfect 12:36
mandeue? 12:38
I think 12:41
one second, please. Yeah, take your 12:44
time. Take your time. 12:46
I'm in pain. Yeah, it's all right. Let 12:53
it out. Let it out. It's that moment, 12:55
you know. Is this the spiciest thing 12:57
you've ever eaten in your life? 12:59
[Applause] 13:05
Guys, yeah, I know. I can't hear 13:10
anymore. 13:12
God, help. Help me. There's no help. 13:16
There's no help. You're just stuck on 13:20
this YouTube show. For better or worse, 13:22
at times like these, definitely worse. 13:25
I am now 13:29
shaking. Yeah. 13:31
But you've made it so far. 13:34
But you've made it this far. I would 13:40
never eaten anything like that. Never. 13:42
Yeah. And probably never again. I would 13:45
I would never Oh my god, guys. Guys, 13:49
Mandu. Yeah, I think the key is to just 13:58
like squeeze it really well. I'm so 14:01
sorry. I can't even speak. I knew this 14:04
would happen. This is why I warned you 14:07
people. 14:10
[Music] 14:12
I am now unable to. Here you go. Here's 14:14
some ice cream. 14:17
This is kind of nice in times like 14:19
these. 14:21
I can't breathe. 14:24
And then just be careful around the 14:28
eyes. Just be careful around the eyes. 14:29
Don't touch the eyes. 14:31
Where am I? Who sent me home? I want to 14:40
go home. 14:44
I'm having trouble understanding English 14:48
right now. No, I get that. Yeah. Does it 14:51
Has anyone felt that? I've never You 14:53
know what though? I wouldn't be able to 14:54
tell, Jenny. I would not be able to 14:55
tell. 14:57
You know, I know what you're going 14:58
through in the whole set. It's so just 14:59
all closing in on you. It is. Right. It 15:01
really is. And the spice, it's attacking 15:04
your brain. It's attacking the way that 15:06
you think. It's attacking the way that 15:08
you talk. And then here you are on this 15:10
show tethered to it, a hostage on how it 15:12
works. I know. I know. You and me both 15:14
with every wing. It's like a new thing 15:17
is unlocked, right? But we also feel so 15:20
alive, you know? Right. or dead. 15:24
It's the stages of life. Exactly, Jenny. 15:29
You know. Okay. Okay. I am okay now. And 15:32
now here's the problem with this show 15:37
is that there's a storm, right? And then 15:40
the storm ends, the rain ends. Mhm. And 15:44
the clouds break, and the sun comes 15:47
through again. Mhm. 15:49
But then the next wing, if you're ready 15:52
to move on, I I I am going to be brave. 15:54
You know, I'm here. You're making me 15:59
brave. I'm catching a second hand from 16:00
you. This one is called Sucker Punch. 16:02
Oh, I have a bad feeling. 16:06
My body is shaking. 16:14
[Music] 16:16
This might heat me back up. So, I'm so 16:18
scared. I like that. Always looking on 16:21
the uh bright side. 16:23
I don't even know what I'm staring at at 16:30
the moment, 16:32
by the way. 16:34
Oh, no. I know. I know. 16:36
Not fun. It's right by any means. It's 16:40
here again. 16:43
It's here. 16:48
I get it. I know. I know. 16:50
Help. 16:59
Has anyone died here? No. No. 17:02
Everyone makes it through. Fainted. No, 17:07
you'd be the first. But like, let's 17:10
let's stay on our feet. Let's stay on 17:11
our feet. You got this. 17:13
Do you have a favorite Capy Barara fun 17:16
fact? You know, I recently learned that 17:18
they can stay underwater for 5 minutes 17:20
and then they'll sometimes sleep with 17:22
their noses sticking out of the surface 17:24
like near the waters. They do that. They 17:26
do that. Heavy is really 17:29
spicy. 17:38
It's so spicy. 17:40
I've recently had one come to me for my 17:46
music video. They actually feel like a 17:48
really big hedgehog, but not as spiky. 17:51
Give me your perspective of that wig. 17:55
Okay, here's what I think. Let's not 17:58
dab. Sometimes we'll open up the top. 18:01
We'll dab it. Let's chill on that. Okay, 18:03
you've gone through enough. 18:06
But it's like, but there's just one 18:08
more. And like, think about it. You'll 18:11
go home tonight, you'll think about 18:12
like, "Oh, I just had one more. I just 18:14
had one more." I hate that feeling. 18:16
Right. Exactly. And we don't want that 18:18
feeling. Okay. So, maybe we just do like 18:20
a little bite on Wing 10, you know? What 18:24
I'm now more surprised is when I was 18:27
watching this show. Mhm. I love to also 18:29
listen to the interviews that you were 18:32
doing with your guest. I'm giving you 18:34
nothing here. You're giving me a lot. 18:37
I'm giving you tears and screams. Those 18:39
are great. Are you sure? Yeah. I mean, 18:43
we built an empire on that. 18:45
I came to conquer, so I will. 18:52
I did not come here to give up. 18:57
The beauty of it is it looks so normal. 19:00
It looks so plain. The power that it 19:04
holds. Yeah. You know what? It's it's 19:07
it's a metaphor even for the show. You 19:08
know, it's just this very simple black 19:11
curtain set. Mhm. But then the taste, 19:13
the flavor of all. Honestly, those two 19:16
when I had it, this room felt like 19:18
something else. I swear to God, you 19:21
entered a dream state. Yeah. Yeah. 19:24
Just take like a tiny little Yeah. 19:30
Little tiny bit. 19:31
[Music] 19:35
With that bite, Jenny, you have 19:40
conquered 19:44
the Hot Ones gauntlet. 19:45
And join Rosé and Lisa as accomplished 19:48
Hot Ones alum. 19:52
Do you have a message? I think I'm 19:56
allergic to spice. 19:58
I'm telling you, my spine is like 20:01
shaking on me. 20:03
Do you have a message for J Su? Oh yes. 20:06
Like do you think you could convince her 20:09
to come on the show? 100%. Because she 20:11
is the one who taught me spicy and she's 20:15
the she's the other you. Like she made 20:18
me eat spicy food with her ever since we 20:20
were Chinese. 20:23
So I think Shundi should come on this 20:25
show. You're going to love it. 20:30
Whatever Rosie and Lisa did, 20:34
this is the real reaction. 20:38
They I cuz I watched your episode and 20:42
they were so chill about it. So I was 20:44
like, if they're doing it, maybe I could 20:46
do it, too. But I can't. You can. I 20:47
can't. You can. And you did. Look at 20:50
you, Jenny, taking on the wings of 20:54
death, living to tell the tale. And now 20:56
there's nothing left to do but roll out 20:58
the red carpet for you. I'm like 20:59
shaking. This camera. This camera. This 21:01
camera. Let the people know what you 21:03
have going on. Hi. 21:05
There. Something has opened up in my 21:10
nose. And I got 21:13
This is not pretty at all. But it's 21:18
okay. You make it look good. 21:21
Well, maybe I can help. The new album is 21:24
called Ruby. Oh, I was I was supposed to 21:26
Please help me out. The new album's 21:30
called Ruby and it's out now. Make sure 21:33
you pick it up cuz Jenny did not suffer 21:34
in vain over here. 21:37
[Applause] 21:40
Wow. 21:47
I'm so happy. But I'm so sorry I was not 21:50
able to answer most of your questions. 21:53
But I I I'm telling 21:56
I think from from this one 21:59
from then on it just it's a party. It's 22:02
a 22:04
It's kicking me. Oh my god. 22:07

[Music]
Hey, what's going on everybody for First
We Feast. I'm Sean Evans and you're
watching Hot Ones. It's the show with
hot questions and even hotter wings. And
today we're joined by Jenny. She's a
chart topping record-breaking global pop
star who just released her debut studio
album. It's called Ruby and Includes the

how do pretty girls handle spicy wings?
I guess only time will tell. Jenny,
welcome to the show. Thank you for
having me, Sean. I am very happy and
excited and scared to be here.
How are you around spicy food? Before we
get started, are you someone who enjoys
little heat? In my daily life, I have no
nothing no spice in my life. I don't I
don't like spicy food or anything to do
with spice. If anything, I like things
plain. But here I am, and there's no
fear. No turning back. That's exactly
right. Are you ready to get started? I
am.
[Music]
Oh, we're going right in.
Here we go. Okay.
[Music]
[Music]
M.
It smells good.
[Music]
Nine to go.
So, I understand that your album Ruby is
inspired in part by the 16th century
William Shakespeare play, As You Like
It. I'm curious, what kind of connection
did you make between your own journey
and Shakespeare's exploration of the
stages of life?
When I first read the play and saw how
they broke down into seven different
stages,
what I was coming from was also the
seven years of being in a group of
Blackpink and um how every little event
has changed me over time. I've had my
ups and downs. I've had my roller
coaster emotions of when I loved music,
when I hated music and and every moments
in between was was the important things
that got me here. So, I started just
breaking myself down and I guess it just
inspired me to look at myself in a
different way and and really dive into
what got me here and who I am. If that
makes sense. I am following you all the
way.
And you'll take me on a journey. I'll
take you on a journey. If you're ready
to move on here to wing number two. Oh
yes. I'm ready. I'm actually excited for
wing two.
[Music]
Just winging it. Okay. You know what
though? I'm going to try my best and
keep my calm. I'm not going to overreact
over spice, you know. I like I like that
you're making this claim on wing two.
We'll see how it goes. Okay. All right.
It's it's it's now here. I feel like I
met Hot Ones now. Yep. Mhm. The party
started. Mhm. It has started. Okay. It's
good though. So, I think it's really
interesting and honest when you talk
about making this record, you make it
very clear that it was not at all an
easy process. When you think about the
creative decisions that went into
putting together this album, is there
something that you're particularly proud
to have fought for on the album's
behalf? Um, yes, so many things.
So, I had to fight for a few of the
songs and honestly the whole core
message to begin with, we didn't have to
forcefully make the music easy for
people to like this album. let me try
and do what I like and what I convince
myself to do to to get to people. And a
lot of the songs on this album, I really
had to fight for it.
Especially a song like Zen, a song like
Starlight,
which I understand that it might not be
the first thing that could pop up in
people's mind, but I knew that it would
touch the people that I want to touch.
I saw a few episodes where people start
getting from the third wing.
It gets you kind of in the back. But I
can survive. I see it. You know what?
I'm so proud of myself right now. I'm so
proud. Thank you. I got I'm here in the
third wing and I'm surviving. Having the
best more than surviving. Mhm.
Can you describe something that you've
learned from a vocal coach that you
think has really helped you as a singer?
Like whether it's something physical
like jaw position or something
psychological like a mental hurdle you
had to overcome. Like is there a lesson
that you hold close? I remember
this was in LA with my vocal coach and
on our very first day on our very first
session, he had me just stood there and
look out the window and just scream as
loud as I can. It wasn't to scream in
the most beautiful voice or to be the
loudest. It was to get to that state of
releasing everything that's kind of
holding you up. I don't know if this
could help anyone, but it did for me.
So, there's so many tricks and, you
know, things that you could do to prep
your vocals and and to get you to the
next level, but this could be your very
first one of your first steps is to you
need to be able to just let go. Just pop
open that window. Yeah. And no fear.
Like, look at me now. I I see that.
Yeah.
Come on. This one doesn't even look
spicy. I'm disappointed.
M
I see. Mhm. It's not the color that
matters. Looks can be deceiving. You
know,
it does have another level to it. It's
kicking. Yeah, I know. It's kicking me
on my tongue. Oh my god.
Not disappointed, right? Uhuh. That's
right. Oh, what's happening?
It's just, you know, when you were like,
I I'm at Hot Ones. You know, this is the
party. Unfortunately, the party just
gets it gets louder. It gets more
intense. Oh my god. People come in.
Yeah. It's coming at me.
So recently you ran through almost the
entirety of Ruby during your performance
at Coachella. What do you learn about
your own music by performing it live?
Like do fans react to certain songs or
lyrics in ways that surprise you? I've
never released an album with with 15
songs inside
and it's still kicking my tongue. I
know. And you know what? I'm not going
to lie to you, Jenny. That is just where
we're at. All right. That's just the
show. All right. Got it. But but my
favorite part is when they when they
just start screaming the lyrics of the
songs that never made it as a single and
you call that a B bside track, right?
Yeah. Yeah. Right.
It's a whole different term in Korean, a
bside track. And they're just screaming
it in lyrics from the top to the end.
And that's that's when you really feel
like, oh, they really do listen to your
album. They really do listen to your
music. It's shooting at me. No, from all
sides. The walls are closing in. Oh,
yeah. Thankfully, you have the tea. Does
tea help? I guess I see people drinking
milk. Should I be drinking milk? Maybe
milk is the move in times like these.
Yeah.
[Music]
Oh, mustard. Mustard is friendly.
So, I asked Lisa this question. I'm
curious if maybe you have any advice. Is
there a Korean beauty tip that I should
incorporate into my skincare routine? I
think it's all about the consistenc
consist consistency.
[Music]
Um, it's the dedication that they put. I
don't think it has anything to do with
anything. There's no secret magic. I
don't believe it's the fact that they
care so much and they they are dedicated
to keep their skin healthy is the key
for me. And if I I say this to all my
friends and everyone, but drink lots of
water. Drink lots of water. And then I
got to wear that mask every day. Yeah.
Daily. Hydration.
Okay. This one is yellow.
H
I'm just so good. Oh my god. I don't
know what I was afraid of. You had this
dog inside you the whole time. I'm so
surprised.
I have been talking about coming on this
show for the past two weeks. Like
nervous about it. I I was telling all my
friends, I'm going all out once and I
don't like spicy food. I don't know what
to do.
But all you had to do is face it.
Exactly. You know, you psych yourself
up. You know, we build these walls
ourselves. We do. But you just had to
come into the studio, throw down on some
wings. I am. Face it. I'm honest kind of
disappointed, Sean. Ooh,
I had high hopes. Well, let's see. I'm
wearing waterproof mascara.
Um, so this one is called appraat.
Okay. I don't love the name. Emphasis on
the hot. I can see it right there on the
label. Mhm.
We get a good bite.
[Music]
There is definitely some spice in my
mouth, but I can deal with it.
So, yeah. Can you give me two things you
love and one thing you don't about being
a hamster mom? Two things I love and one
thing you don't.
First of all, they are adorable and so
funny to look at and fluffy is number
one. Second part is you get to feed them
which is also really fun
and cute. And one thing I don't like
about it is they are constantly
constantly running on that wheel and
does not stop. Even if you want some
peace of mind, they're like, "No, I'm
going to do my cardio of the day." Oh,
this is Oh, we here at the the bomb
beyond insanity.
Take a photo of me in case this might be
the last last little beef that I take.
It's the bottom. Okay, this one looks
scary, too. I know.
Oh, no. This is no joke.
You're scrambling trying to find
something, anything over there. That's
smart. Got a new napkin.
This is I know. Go ahead. Get up, take a
lap, do whatever you have to do.
Walk it out. Just open that window and
scream. You know, in times like these.
That's all right.
So, I'm a big fan of the uh cooking
tutorials that you do.
[Music]
I did.
What's the key to folding a perfect
mandeue?
I think
one second, please. Yeah, take your
time. Take your time.
I'm in pain. Yeah, it's all right. Let
it out. Let it out. It's that moment,
you know. Is this the spiciest thing
you've ever eaten in your life?
[Applause]
Guys, yeah, I know. I can't hear
anymore.
God, help. Help me. There's no help.
There's no help. You're just stuck on
this YouTube show. For better or worse,
at times like these, definitely worse.
I am now
shaking. Yeah.
But you've made it so far.
But you've made it this far. I would
never eaten anything like that. Never.
Yeah. And probably never again. I would
I would never Oh my god, guys. Guys,
Mandu. Yeah, I think the key is to just
like squeeze it really well. I'm so
sorry. I can't even speak. I knew this
would happen. This is why I warned you
people.
[Music]
I am now unable to. Here you go. Here's
some ice cream.
This is kind of nice in times like
these.
I can't breathe.
And then just be careful around the
eyes. Just be careful around the eyes.
Don't touch the eyes.
Where am I? Who sent me home? I want to
go home.
I'm having trouble understanding English
right now. No, I get that. Yeah. Does it
Has anyone felt that? I've never You
know what though? I wouldn't be able to
tell, Jenny. I would not be able to
tell.
You know, I know what you're going
through in the whole set. It's so just
all closing in on you. It is. Right. It
really is. And the spice, it's attacking
your brain. It's attacking the way that
you think. It's attacking the way that
you talk. And then here you are on this
show tethered to it, a hostage on how it
works. I know. I know. You and me both
with every wing. It's like a new thing
is unlocked, right? But we also feel so
alive, you know? Right. or dead.
It's the stages of life. Exactly, Jenny.
You know. Okay. Okay. I am okay now. And
now here's the problem with this show
is that there's a storm, right? And then
the storm ends, the rain ends. Mhm. And
the clouds break, and the sun comes
through again. Mhm.
But then the next wing, if you're ready
to move on, I I I am going to be brave.
You know, I'm here. You're making me
brave. I'm catching a second hand from
you. This one is called Sucker Punch.
Oh, I have a bad feeling.
My body is shaking.
[Music]
This might heat me back up. So, I'm so
scared. I like that. Always looking on
the uh bright side.
I don't even know what I'm staring at at
the moment,
by the way.
Oh, no. I know. I know.
Not fun. It's right by any means. It's
here again.
It's here.
I get it. I know. I know.
Help.
Has anyone died here? No. No.
Everyone makes it through. Fainted. No,
you'd be the first. But like, let's
let's stay on our feet. Let's stay on
our feet. You got this.
Do you have a favorite Capy Barara fun
fact? You know, I recently learned that
they can stay underwater for 5 minutes
and then they'll sometimes sleep with
their noses sticking out of the surface
like near the waters. They do that. They
do that. Heavy is really
spicy.
It's so spicy.
I've recently had one come to me for my
music video. They actually feel like a
really big hedgehog, but not as spiky.
Give me your perspective of that wig.
Okay, here's what I think. Let's not
dab. Sometimes we'll open up the top.
We'll dab it. Let's chill on that. Okay,
you've gone through enough.
But it's like, but there's just one
more. And like, think about it. You'll
go home tonight, you'll think about
like, "Oh, I just had one more. I just
had one more." I hate that feeling.
Right. Exactly. And we don't want that
feeling. Okay. So, maybe we just do like
a little bite on Wing 10, you know? What
I'm now more surprised is when I was
watching this show. Mhm. I love to also
listen to the interviews that you were
doing with your guest. I'm giving you
nothing here. You're giving me a lot.
I'm giving you tears and screams. Those
are great. Are you sure? Yeah. I mean,
we built an empire on that.
I came to conquer, so I will.
I did not come here to give up.
The beauty of it is it looks so normal.
It looks so plain. The power that it
holds. Yeah. You know what? It's it's
it's a metaphor even for the show. You
know, it's just this very simple black
curtain set. Mhm. But then the taste,
the flavor of all. Honestly, those two
when I had it, this room felt like
something else. I swear to God, you
entered a dream state. Yeah. Yeah.
Just take like a tiny little Yeah.
Little tiny bit.
[Music]
With that bite, Jenny, you have
conquered
the Hot Ones gauntlet.
And join Rosé and Lisa as accomplished
Hot Ones alum.
Do you have a message? I think I'm
allergic to spice.
I'm telling you, my spine is like
shaking on me.
Do you have a message for J Su? Oh yes.
Like do you think you could convince her
to come on the show? 100%. Because she
is the one who taught me spicy and she's
the she's the other you. Like she made
me eat spicy food with her ever since we
were Chinese.
So I think Shundi should come on this
show. You're going to love it.
Whatever Rosie and Lisa did,
this is the real reaction.
They I cuz I watched your episode and
they were so chill about it. So I was
like, if they're doing it, maybe I could
do it, too. But I can't. You can. I
can't. You can. And you did. Look at
you, Jenny, taking on the wings of
death, living to tell the tale. And now
there's nothing left to do but roll out
the red carpet for you. I'm like
shaking. This camera. This camera. This
camera. Let the people know what you
have going on. Hi.
There. Something has opened up in my
nose. And I got
This is not pretty at all. But it's
okay. You make it look good.
Well, maybe I can help. The new album is
called Ruby. Oh, I was I was supposed to
Please help me out. The new album's
called Ruby and it's out now. Make sure
you pick it up cuz Jenny did not suffer
in vain over here.
[Applause]
Wow.
I'm so happy. But I'm so sorry I was not
able to answer most of your questions.
But I I I'm telling
I think from from this one
from then on it just it's a party. It's
a
It's kicking me. Oh my god.
