usual time usual place on the 21st of 07:45
November practicing vocabulary to talk 07:50
about 07:53
relatives so that's what we are going to 07:54
do so we're going to wait just to see if 07:57
any more people are joining 08:01
us because the first exercise is going 08:04
to be a 08:08
game and it's a fun 08:11
game so I would like to make sure that 08:15
everyone is 08:19
here so we're going to play a game today 08:22
so if you could let me know in chat how 08:26

you have been doing 08:43

almost really happened Hallelujah it has 09:09
been 09:13
months 09:15
welcome how are you almost really 09:18
happened I cannot tell you how happy I 09:21
am to see your name in 09:24
chat and you're just in time we are 09:26
about to start playing a vocabulary 09:28
game okay so mariaan is going to 09:33
celebrate her father's 09:36
birthday happy birthday to Maria Del 09:39
carman's Dad how are you going to 09:42
celebrate kasta I have been busy working 09:46

lessons but I do review later during my 09:50
free time that's amazing to hear kashta 09:52
thank you so much not only does that 09:55
make me very happy but it also supports 09:58
me and the channel so thank you 10:01
for watching the uh streams at a later 10:03
time Serio good morning teacher a great 10:08
day for you greetings from San Christal 10:11
Venezuela shout out to all my uh 10:16
Venezuelans I'm hoping to go and visit 10:22
Venezuela next 10:24
year with my husband to meet his family 10:26
so that should be great it's evening now 10:30
in Russia I'm still 10:33
working I'm here with you during my 10:34
break Daria you're still working and 10:37
it's 10:40
nighttime what do you do 10:41
Daria hjo chores hjo you're doing chores 10:45
it's very productive of you well done 10:50
Maran is going to eat 10:52
cake what type of cake are you going to 10:56
eat M 10:59
caran it's late evening in Sri Lanka 11:01
great 11:05
Julia Julia is also 11:11
celebrating ah okay she's wishing Maria 11:15
a great time 11:18
celebrating her father's birthday that's 11:26
great yes the live stream will be 11:29
available on YouTube if you have to go 11:32
or if 11:35
you 11:36
um have other commitments you can always 11:40
review the lesson afterwards and you 11:43
will also be able to download the lesson 11:46
materials my Gman course has been good 11:49
today at last students got some students 11:53
in the listening test do you mean that 11:56
they they got good marks in the 11:58
listening test Marina I will have to go 12:00
in 30 minutes because I have to give a 12:03
lesson too I'm also a teacher fantastic 12:04
almost really happened so we will get 12:07
cracking with the 12:10
game but thank you to everybody for 12:13
sharing your day with us 12:18
today and I'm also very pleased to have 12:21
you here with 12:24
me 12:27
Maria Carman that sounds like 12:29
unbelievably delicious I think cake is 12:34
one of my favorite things in the whole 12:38
world okay so what are we going to 12:40
play we are going to play a game of 12:45
categories okay now just uh just to let 12:49
you know categories is not actually a 12:53
name it's not a word in English it was a 12:56
word created for this particular type of 12:58
game so if you know scatories you will 13:02
know that usually you have to come up 13:06
with vocabulary based on different types 13:09
of uh 13:13
objects such as animal 13:15
food uh places cities transport all 13:19
kinds of 13:23
vocabulary however today we are going to 13:25
practice 13:27
specific different parts of speech so 13:29
we're going to play a game of categories 13:31
wait I have a feeling that my face is in 13:34
the way yes it is 13:37
okay oh no okay so we are going to play 13:40
a game of categories however the 13:44
vocabulary isn't going to be based on 13:46
things you have to produce different 13:49
parts of speech and there are 13:51
rules 13:57
so rule number 14:04
one you can only use the word once you 14:05
cannot repeat the same word for each 14:10
category so for 14:13
example if you are going to use the word 14:15
prepare as a verb you cannot use or 14:21
transform that word into to its noun 14:26
form for example so you are not allowed 14:30
to Pro to repeat the word okay it has to 14:33
be a different word for each 14:36
category number two you must write your 14:39
answer in one message not multiple 14:42
messages so when you send your answers 14:46
for the game you have to send it in one 14:49
message for example um let's 14:51
say um 14:57
uh trying to give you an example without 15:05
telling you any of the answers oh dear 15:08
okay 15:11
um 15:12
competition is a 15:15
noun and it begins with the letter 15:17
c so I'm going to come up with words 15:20
that begin with the letter c I need a 15:23
noun I need a positive adjective I need 15:26
a negative adjective and I need a verb 15:28
so 15:31
competition 15:34
careful 15:37
cocky 15:41
and 15:43
compare okay so you have to send your 15:45
answers in one message like this so 15:48
write down some of your words think 15:52
about them and then once you're ready 15:54
send the message message do not send 15:57
individual words I'm not going to accept 16:00
that so it could be a good idea if you 16:02
have like a pen or a piece of paper or 16:04
something that you can write on to think 16:06
about your ideas before you send your 16:09
final answers okay and the other rule is 16:11
that you are only supposed to use the 16:15
vocabulary that you already know so you 16:18
should avoid using a dictionary or any 16:21
kind of technological ADI device to 16:25
search for words you have to think about 16:29
what you have already in your mind 16:33
okay Dominico says it's too early come 16:38
on Dominico it's time to wake up this is 16:41
a competitive game we're all here to win 16:44
who cares about losers we're all here to 16:48
win 16:52
okay no I'm joking obviously 16:54
participation is more important than 16:56
winning 16:58
okay 16:59
so here's what it looks 17:01
like and I've just realized that I need 17:03
to edit 17:07
this so we are going 17:08
to open 17:14
up the 17:16
page move everything 17:19
around okay so as you can 17:21
see you need to 17:26
write a noun a positive adjective a 17:29
negative adjective and a verb and over 17:33
here on the left 17:36
side on the left column I am going to 17:39
write the letter of the 17:43
alphabet and each of these words have to 17:46
begin with that 17:49
letter so does everybody understand what 17:52
we have to 17:56
do 17:57
so for example if I gave you the letter 18:03
c you would have to come up with a noun 18:05
a positive adjective a negative 18:08
adjective and a 18:10
verb actually I'm going to change this 18:11
an abstract 18:14
noun okay just to make it more difficult 18:21
an abstract noun a positive adjective a 18:24
negative adjective and a 18:26
verb okay so this is very useful it's 18:31
fun and 18:37
um yeah the best person not the best 18:39
person the person who sends their 18:42
message with the 18:44
complete group of 18:47
words is going to be the winner of that 18:50
round and I will write your 18:53
name in the column which says winner for 18:56
that 18:59
round okay Domin right here we go the 19:05
first letter is 19:09
p 19:27
so remember that an abstract abstract 19:30
noun is something that you cannot 19:33
touch I think we have a winner already 19:45
Alexander 19:49
price 19:51
positive primitive and 19:52
promote well Alexander that was 19:56
incredibly 20:00
fast do we 20:02
[Music] 20:04
allow okay that's fine um ramelia sorry 20:06
maybe you did not listen to the first um 20:10
rule see the first rule uh you are not 20:15
allowed to do the word formation 20:18
exercise it is 20:20
um you have to include different words 20:23
words for 20:28
each you're not allowed to do any word 20:29
formations congratulations Alexander 20:34
well done you are the winner of our 20:37
first 20:39
round price positive primitive and 20:44
promote but we do have some other very 20:48
good ideas in chat Julia remember that 20:50
you have to put 20:53
your um answer in one message Petri 20:54
painful pretty and pick would be okay 21:00
but pen is not an abstract noun an 21:04
abstract noun is something that you 21:06
cannot touch 21:08
okay passion and poor very good Mia 21:11
almost really happened 21:15
potato no ramelia exactly so we do not 21:20
have to use the same family 21:23
words okay we're looking at like all 21:27
vocabulary for the first exercise and 21:30
then we'll move on to word formations 21:33
afterwards 21:34
okay okay great so Alexander 21:41
congratulations well 21:46
done well done you now we're moving on 21:49
to the next 21:51
letter remember abstract nouns some 21:54
things that you can canot touch and do 21:57
not use the same 22:01
words 22:04
s 22:26
e slow is not necessarily 22:34
negative again silly is not necessarily 22:44
negative I would say it's 22:48
neutral oh 22:50
Ramia romelia's got it good job ramelia 22:53
well done 22:57
silence 23:00
stable 23:03
oops 23:06
sad and 23:09
sing fantastic Ria well 23:11
done fantastic what other ideas did we 23:17
have Dominico 23:22
sale soul sweet and 23:26
Soldier 23:29
[Music] 23:30
um 23:32
Dominico which uh one of those is 23:35
negative and do you have two 23:43
verbs oh no you only have 23:47
one uh let's have a 23:50
look okay Johnny Soul success sad 23:56
sing success is a noun and soul is a 24:05
noun so you have double the nouns here 24:09
second successful sad survive very good 24:12
Alexander well done ramelia yes almost 24:15
really 24:19
happened Sunrise oh I love that one 24:20
shiny simple and Sy again almost really 24:23
happens simple 24:27
wouldn't necessarily be a negative 24:29
adjective because you can use it in both 24:32
positive and perhaps negative uh 24:35
conations in both negative and positive 24:40
contexts okay congratulations romelia 24:42
the next letter 24:45
o o 24:48
o 24:56
uh 25:15
ramelia the negative 25:17
adjective 25:20
no 25:26
that's spelled 25:28
a 25:31
w not o 25:33
w yes but the letter is O not a so I 25:38
cannot accept 25:41
it hello Fatima we are playing a game 25:43
welcome you have to come up with an 25:47
abstract noun positive adjective 25:49
negative adjective and a verb beginning 25:50
with 25:52
o old is old next negative 25:54
Marina Julia owl is not an abstract 26:05
noun 26:16
okay oh 26:19
no oh no what did I 26:23
do 26:26
oh 26:31
no 26:42
okay what just 26:46
happened did I disappear did you see me 26:49
I'm so confused I lost 26:53
everything 26:56
oh my gosh can you hear and see 26:59
me okay you can you can see 27:02
me I don't know what happened I lost 27:05
everything okay where are we uh oh I 27:07
need to go back oh no I've lost it how 27:10
do 27:14
I okay okay okay okay 27:15
uh almost really 27:22
happened um 27:25
yes 27:28
okay so that could be classed as your 27:32
negative adjective 27:34
obscure negative positive almost really 27:37
happened I'm not quite sure which one 27:40
would be which I don't know if you 27:42
can uh separate 27:47
them I need a very clear positive 27:50
and uh 27:56
negative 27:58
adjective 28:01
okay so I think ramelia has 28:03
won 28:07
the game 28:09
again with o fantastic romelia you have 28:11
changed your answer from awful 28:15
to 28:19
obfuscated which would be 28:21
another 28:26
um 28:28
negative 28:34
uh adjective and O as the verb 28:36
congratulations romelia well done okay 28:40
so before we move on to the next word 28:43
please remember to be very very careful 28:48
with your positive and negative 28:50
adjectives okay if you want to make it 28:51
easier think about adjec jeives that we 28:55
use to describe personality and 28:58
characteristics because there are many 29:00
many many adjectives that we can use to 29:03
describe characteristics and there are a 29:05
lot of negative and 29:07
positive vocabulary words within those 29:10
categories okay so I need a very 29:13
clear positive and 29:16
negative uh words 29:21
adjectives okay Hano that's pretty good 29:24
observation obedient offensive and 29:27
overtake 29:33
okay 29:44
okay so the next letter 29:45
will be 29:49
C do not copy any of my answers from 29:52
before 29:56
Okay C abstract noun positive adjective 30:00
negative adjective and a verb beginning 30:03
with 30:06
C ramelia has it 30:19
again capacity 30:24
calm 30:30
cynical and 30:33
cry 30:36
oops ramelia you did spell cynical wrong 30:41
but that's fine I know what you mean 30:44
okay and we had some other answers come 30:50
through alexand 30:55
consensus careful careless 31:00
create Alexander you would not be able 31:05
to use care for both positive and 31:07
negative adjectives you would need to 31:09
come up with another word okay almost 31:11
really happened creativity and creative 31:15
again you would have to use two separate 31:18
words you're not allowed to repeat but 31:21
good job well done Fernanda care careful 31:23
again repeating try not to repeat your 31:27
vocabulary 31:30
words Great Well 31:36
Done fantastic right let's do maybe one 31:40
more because we've already spent 30 31:43
minutes of the stream and we haven't 31:45
even moved on to the work yet 31:47
h 31:52
h 31:56
okay abstract noun positive negative and 32:02
for beginning with 32:05
h 32:26
and romelia wins it 32:28
again nobody can stop her she is 32:33
[Music] 32:37
Unstoppable hype hilarious horrible and 32:42
hate well ramelia I think it's fair to 32:49
say that you have won the game congrat 32:52
congratulations well 32:57
done well done romelia fantastic work 33:01
here you won four rounds of 33:04
scatories you are absolutely the winner 33:09
of the game well done so we had some 33:12
other really good ideas come 33:16
through um Maria Caren you would use 33:19
honesty as the noun okay honesty 33:23
hilarious humble I wouldn't say is 33:28
negative here yes fantastic well 33:31
done Marina 33:35
honesty 33:38
horrific oh hate okay so hate as the 33:41
noun honest as the adjective horrific 33:44
and here well done Marina good job 33:48
fantastic height humor horrendous 33:51
hustle heaven humble horrible 33:55
hate honor healthy hateful harm well 34:00
done Casa excellent happiness hilarious 34:04
harmful and hit well done dreamer 34:08
fantastic oh goodbye almost really 34:15
happen thank you for being here it was 34:17
lovely to see you well see your 34:19
name okay so now what we are going to do 34:22
is we're going to do some work oh 34:26
no so now we are going to do uh some 34:30
formations with nouns and 34:35
adjectives what on Earth is happening 34:41
here 34:44
okay so we are going 34:47
to how have I completely messed up the 34:50
screen we are going to do some word 34:53
formations with adjectives and 34:56
suffixes and then we're going to do the 34:59
same for nouns and then we're going to 35:01
do a little exam exercise and then we 35:02
are all going to 35:05
relax here we go you have probably seen 35:08
this many a time before when learning 35:11
new vocabulary specifically word 35:14
formation exercises basically here you 35:16
have a box of different verb forms uh 35:20
word forms you have to change these 35:25
words to their adjective 35:27
form so to do this I would 35:32
recommend maybe writing this down on a 35:37
piece of 35:41
paper and then copying your 35:42
um answers maybe in 35:48
chat but just know that the next slide 35:53
you will have the correct 35:57
answers and the lesson materials will be 35:59
available at the end of the stream so 36:03
don't worry too much if 36:06
you run out of time or if you're not 36:10
sure I will show you the answers on the 36:14
next slide so we already have some 36:17
answers coming 36:19
through 36:25
no Kash we're just looking at which 36:29
suffixes so 36:34
able us I Al and 36:37
full which suffixes we use to change 36:41
these words into their adjective form 36:45
exactly so love for bull would go in 36:48
column number 36:51
one 36:55
okay great harmful 37:04
hopeful 37:07
lovable 37:10
comfortable 37:15
usable 37:17
nope usable 37:19
no thoughtful meaningful realistic 37:23
pessimistic 37:27
sociable pre 37:33
preal 37:37
Manuel 37:40
no 37:42
emotional 37:43
adventurous 37:47
useful 37:48
dramatic 37:51
practical 37:53
predictable 37:55
emotional usable usable no it's really 38:11
strange doing this exercise because 38:15
sometimes I have to think to myself does 38:17
that word exist like it's so confusing 38:19
but 38:22
no please give me one British 38:24
girl 38:29
um teach and discuss 38:33
media 38:43
usable 38:44
usable to be able or fit to be 38:50
used 38:55
okay so apparently 39:00
exists 39:02
but 39:04
useful 39:07
usable 39:09
useable 39:15
practical 39:18
thoughtful thank you Issa I had to 39:22
check 39:25
okay so let's go through and check your 39:29
answers because we have other exercises 39:32
to do so 39:34
usable I didn't even put 39:39
use 39:44
in 39:45
the on the 39:47
table so oh 39:49
no so I'm going to pop that on the table 39:54
right now and 39:58
then I would like you to do this 40:01
speaking 40:04
exercise so you are going 40:07
to think 40:15
about a person that could be 40:21
described 40:25
using these 40:29
adjectives yes kta you are correct well 40:37
done here are all of your answers all of 40:40
your answers are here um think of people 40:43
you know who could be described by three 40:47
of these 40:49
adjectives and I would like you to share 40:52
your description with the 40:54
group goodbye M thank you for 40:57
coming see you next week 41:02
hopefully ticktockers are 41:10
dramatic is Julia leaving 41:19
too 41:25
no I think Julia is staying 41:29
Manuel okay so choose one person in your 41:37
life because we don't really have time 41:41
for multiple but think of three uh three 41:43
adjectives that can describe somebody 41:46
that you 41:48
know and share your description in 41:55
chat so it could be a family member it 42:09
could be a friend it could be your 42:11
boyfriend or girlfriend your husband or 42:14
your 42:17
wife your 42:18
teacher 42:25
Manuel I have no 42:36
idea a raelia has described 42:48
me oh my 42:55
gosh are you describing me 42:58
Ria lovable reliable sociable generous 43:06
sympathetic emotional practical and 43:09
careful Julia he is always thoughtful 43:14
and showed me and 43:17
showed the sympathetic towards others 43:19
Julia be 43:22
careful 43:25
because using showed the 43:27
sympathetic is not grammatically 43:30
correct I would say he is all always 43:35
thoughtful and sympathetic towards 43:39
others 43:43
okay Manuel is the prime minister 43:49
delivering a speech 43:54
right 43:57
now no no no hjo you can only use 43:59
usable for objects if you wanted to 44:03
discuss or describe a person you would 44:07
have to say helpful so my math teacher 44:10
was 44:13
helpful while I was in his 44:15
class 44:18
Alexander my best friend is comfortable 44:21
reliable and lovable very nice 44:23
and I'm cautious practical person and 44:28
harmful to people who I find 44:33
dangerous ramelia I'm waiting for the 44:37
exam 44:40
task we have the noun activity first Ria 44:42
and then we have the exam task 44:45
okay 44:49
Manuel I was such an adventurous 44:51
person so some 44:54
sometimes 44:56
I become lose of the Beaten 44:58
Track I was such an adventurous person 45:05
so sometimes I would become lost off the 45:08
Beaten 45:11
Track Manuel one of my friends is very 45:13
emotional if she has a letter of 45:18
apology to the teacher because her 45:21
children are ill she always writes a 45:24
whole 45:28
novel if she has to write a letter of 45:32
apology to the teacher because her 45:35
children are ill she always writes a 45:36
whole 45:39
novel there we 45:41
go he is generous and inspired by his 45:48
Anonymous acts of kindness Julia is 45:52
absolutely hopeful with my question she 45:57
has the correct 45:59
answer Dominico well I would describe my 46:04
girlfriend who is right now beside me as 46:07
a thoughtful person she is 46:10
absolutely a lovable person who likes to 46:13
go on adventurous trips every now and 46:16
again very beautiful 46:18
Dominico excellent 46:24
K emotional people are often 46:27
dramatic I am both dramatic and 46:32
emotional yes K that's true Hano I wish 46:35
I could be adventurous but in some cases 46:38
I'm not 46:42
hopeful what do you mean hjo I wish I 46:48
would be an ad I wish I would be 46:52
adventurer 46:55
but in some cases 46:57
I'm nervous 47:01
anxious okay great well done everybody 47:06
good job so let's move on to nouns here 47:08
you 47:11
go using suffixes to change these words 47:12
the root words into the noun 47:17
form we have men n ants asan it 47:22
Al I'm just gonna go and check my lunch 47:31
I will be back in one second okay so 47:33
start filling out the answers to the 47:35
noun formations 47:40
please 47:54
okay I'm 49:29
back awareness 49:36
presentation familiar 49:39
familiality 49:42
significance 49:44
complexness 49:46
nope uh 49:50
explanation curi 49:54
osity 49:56
resignation reluctance kindness 50:00
arrival 50:05
formality 50:08
government 50:10
ignorance 50:13
resignation 50:15
awareness 50:18
excitement 50:22
very 50:24
good okay teach and discuss media can 50:32
you stop 50:35
please either participate in the lesson 50:38
or just go somewhere 50:40
else I'm happily married thank 50:46
you 50:54
Basher you need to change the form of 50:57
these nouns the the form of these words 51:01
into their noun form 51:04
ability 51:09
okay there we 51:16
[Music] 51:17
go 51:24
so we have government excitement 51:27
argument kindness awareness 51:31
carelessness ignorance significant 51:35
reluctance resignation presentation 51:39
explanation 51:42
information formality familiarity 51:45
complexity ability 51:48
curiosity proposal 51:51
arrival 51:54
fantastic everybody well done 51:55
so if you want to practice the 51:59
pronunciation of these nouns because 52:02
sometimes you know you need to practice 52:04
putting the stress in the correct place 52:07
within a word then you can definitely 52:09
review this 52:11
lesson go back and uh do a shadowing 52:12
exercise where you copy my um 52:16
pronunciation so the last activity is 52:21
going going to be the word formation 52:25
exam exercise here you have a text about 52:27
a 52:32
professional person called 52:33
Phillip you have to complete the text by 52:36
changing the form of these words in 52:41
bold they are in 52:47
order you just have to change them to 52:50
their noun form or their verb form or 52:54
their adjective form using suffixes and 52:59
prefixes we have life therapy confident 53:04
ambitious able weak product anxious 53:10
approve bully real succeed signify 53:16
qualify and 53:21
free so number one you would start with 53:24
life you would follow the text down 53:28
number 15 is 53:32
free 53:54
don't really know why this has moved 53:59
so there I hope you can see 54:06
okay 54:24
this 54:54
for 55:24
okay romelia has already 55:46
finished 55:49
right oh no we still have to do number 55:50
15 55:54
Ria number 15 is 55:55
freedom number 56:03
14 oh sorry Marina yes I can read the 56:12
text without the answers okay uh 56:16
Philip uh Mor ores a former teacher now 56:20
makes a good M as a career coach 56:24
and he changed his career when he 56:28
discovered that he was spending ages 56:31
helping many of his students who lacked 56:33
M and the M needed to do well he worked 56:36
on helping them to develop their natural 56:41
M and then showing them how to overcome 56:44
their 56:47
m one of his main aims was to show them 56:48
how to maintain their M throughout the 56:51
year 56:54
many young people find this hard and 56:55
struggle with feelings 56:57
of and are unable to complete the work 56:59
another problem for teenagers is the 57:03
need for from their peers and the fear 57:05
of being or laughed at he also 57:09
discovered that often any goals they may 57:13
have a fear oh sorry they and he also 57:17
discovered that often any goals they may 57:23
have are rather and cannot be 57:25
achieved as he watched these young 57:29
people develop into adults he gradually 57:32
began to recognize the of his of this 57:35
kind of work he decided to do some 57:40
part-time courses and once he got his M 57:42
he gave up teaching completely he loves 57:46
working for himself and he has the m to 57:49
help a lot more people than he did when 57:52
he was just 57:54
teaching 58:23
okay so I'm going to give you you're 58:26
very welcome Marina I'm going to give 58:29
you 58:31
maybe two more 58:34
minutes okay so two more minutes to 58:47
finish your answers and then we will go 58:50
through and check them 58:52
for 59:23
so make sure that you are changing the 59:28
form so if you ever see this exercise in 59:32
the 59:36
future just know that you can not put 59:37
these words in the form that they have 59:43
been given you always need to change 59:47
them 59:53
so for example number one is not a good 59:56
life you have to change the form of 00:00
life thank you 00:16
Marina 00:20
okay yes ramelia 00:22
make a living what's the answer make a 00:25
living as a 00:28
collocation so here are the answers 00:30
ladies and gentlemen I'm sorry if you 00:33
did not have time to finish but don't 00:35
worry this is just a practice exercise 00:38
to focus on vocabulary and word 00:41
formations so number one living number 00:43
two therapist number three confidence 00:47
number four ambition number number five 00:52
abilities number six 00:55
weaknesses number seven 01:00
productivity number eight anxiety number 01:04
nine approval number 10 bullied number 01:07
11 01:12
unrealistic number 12 01:13
successfully number 13 significance 01:17
number 14 qualification and number 15 01:20
Freedom so well done ladies and 01:28
gentlemen this is in 01:34
fact a 01:36
B2 uh example upper 01:42
B2 it's um it's taken 01:47
from a uh like a pre in the middle 01:53
between B2 and 01:58
C1 because the context is 02:00
[Music] 02:03
quite complex but the 02:06
Transformations like the words the 02:09
vocabulary given for the for the word 02:11
formations are easier than C1 so it's a 02:14
little bit in between and I really 02:18
enjoyed actually I really enjoyed uh the 02:20
the t uh eat 02:24
paper okay karang right then so that's 02:28
it we have finished the stream for today 02:31
uh please join me next week usual time 02:34
usual place so on Tuesday the 21st of 02:39
November we are going to look at some 02:43
vocabulary to talk about your relatives 02:45
so perhaps we will use some of the 02:49
vocabulary from today's lesson 02:51
maybe some negative and positive 02:55
adjectives I'm going to do some speaking 02:57
exercises and also a preparation writing 03:00
exercise so writing an article about 03:03
your family a relative of yours so uh 03:07
thank you so much for joining me today 03:13
it has been a pleasure as always um I 03:17
hope that you enjoyed the 03:20
stream please remember that you can 03:22
download the lesson materials in about 5 03:26
minutes and um I will see you next 03:29
week 03:34
I hope that you have a fantastic week be 03:36
safe um and I will see you next time 03:42
bye she 03:53

Julia Julia is also
celebrating ah okay she's wishing Maria
a great time
celebrating her father's birthday that's
great yes the live stream will be
available on YouTube if you have to go
or if
you
um have other commitments you can always
review the lesson afterwards and you
will also be able to download the lesson
materials my Gman course has been good
today at last students got some students
in the listening test do you mean that
they they got good marks in the
listening test Marina I will have to go
in 30 minutes because I have to give a
lesson too I'm also a teacher fantastic
almost really happened so we will get
cracking with the
game but thank you to everybody for
sharing your day with us
today and I'm also very pleased to have
you here with
me
Maria Carman that sounds like
unbelievably delicious I think cake is
one of my favorite things in the whole
world okay so what are we going to
play we are going to play a game of
categories okay now just uh just to let
you know categories is not actually a
name it's not a word in English it was a
word created for this particular type of
game so if you know scatories you will
know that usually you have to come up
with vocabulary based on different types
of uh
objects such as animal
food uh places cities transport all
kinds of
vocabulary however today we are going to
practice
specific different parts of speech so
we're going to play a game of categories
wait I have a feeling that my face is in
the way yes it is
okay oh no okay so we are going to play
a game of categories however the
vocabulary isn't going to be based on
things you have to produce different
parts of speech and there are
rules
so rule number
one you can only use the word once you
cannot repeat the same word for each
category so for
example if you are going to use the word
prepare as a verb you cannot use or
transform that word into to its noun
form for example so you are not allowed
to Pro to repeat the word okay it has to
be a different word for each
category number two you must write your
answer in one message not multiple
messages so when you send your answers
for the game you have to send it in one
message for example um let's
say um
uh trying to give you an example without
telling you any of the answers oh dear
okay
um
competition is a
noun and it begins with the letter
c so I'm going to come up with words
that begin with the letter c I need a
noun I need a positive adjective I need
a negative adjective and I need a verb
so
competition
careful
cocky
and
compare okay so you have to send your
answers in one message like this so
write down some of your words think
about them and then once you're ready
send the message message do not send
individual words I'm not going to accept
that so it could be a good idea if you
have like a pen or a piece of paper or
something that you can write on to think
about your ideas before you send your
final answers okay and the other rule is
that you are only supposed to use the
vocabulary that you already know so you
should avoid using a dictionary or any
kind of technological ADI device to
search for words you have to think about
what you have already in your mind
okay Dominico says it's too early come
on Dominico it's time to wake up this is
a competitive game we're all here to win
who cares about losers we're all here to
win
okay no I'm joking obviously
participation is more important than
winning
okay
so here's what it looks
like and I've just realized that I need
to edit
this so we are going
to open
up the
page move everything
around okay so as you can
see you need to
write a noun a positive adjective a
negative adjective and a verb and over
here on the left
side on the left column I am going to
write the letter of the
alphabet and each of these words have to
begin with that
letter so does everybody understand what
we have to
do
so for example if I gave you the letter
c you would have to come up with a noun
a positive adjective a negative
adjective and a
verb actually I'm going to change this
an abstract
noun okay just to make it more difficult
an abstract noun a positive adjective a
negative adjective and a
verb okay so this is very useful it's
fun and
um yeah the best person not the best
person the person who sends their
message with the
complete group of
words is going to be the winner of that
round and I will write your
name in the column which says winner for
that
round okay Domin right here we go the
first letter is
p
so remember that an abstract abstract
noun is something that you cannot
touch I think we have a winner already
Alexander
price
positive primitive and
promote well Alexander that was
incredibly
fast do we
[Music]
allow okay that's fine um ramelia sorry
maybe you did not listen to the first um
rule see the first rule uh you are not
allowed to do the word formation
exercise it is
um you have to include different words
words for
each you're not allowed to do any word
formations congratulations Alexander
well done you are the winner of our
first
round price positive primitive and
promote but we do have some other very
good ideas in chat Julia remember that
you have to put
your um answer in one message Petri
painful pretty and pick would be okay
but pen is not an abstract noun an
abstract noun is something that you
cannot touch
okay passion and poor very good Mia
almost really happened
potato no ramelia exactly so we do not
have to use the same family
words okay we're looking at like all
vocabulary for the first exercise and
then we'll move on to word formations
afterwards
okay okay great so Alexander
congratulations well
done well done you now we're moving on
to the next
letter remember abstract nouns some
things that you can canot touch and do
not use the same
words
s
e slow is not necessarily
negative again silly is not necessarily
negative I would say it's
neutral oh
Ramia romelia's got it good job ramelia
well done
silence
stable
oops
sad and
sing fantastic Ria well
done fantastic what other ideas did we
have Dominico
sale soul sweet and
Soldier
[Music]
um
Dominico which uh one of those is
negative and do you have two
verbs oh no you only have
one uh let's have a
look okay Johnny Soul success sad
sing success is a noun and soul is a
noun so you have double the nouns here
second successful sad survive very good
Alexander well done ramelia yes almost
really
happened Sunrise oh I love that one
shiny simple and Sy again almost really
happens simple
wouldn't necessarily be a negative
adjective because you can use it in both
positive and perhaps negative uh
conations in both negative and positive
contexts okay congratulations romelia
the next letter
o o
o
uh
ramelia the negative
adjective
no
that's spelled
a
w not o
w yes but the letter is O not a so I
cannot accept
it hello Fatima we are playing a game
welcome you have to come up with an
abstract noun positive adjective
negative adjective and a verb beginning
with
o old is old next negative
Marina Julia owl is not an abstract
noun
okay oh
no oh no what did I
do
oh
no
okay what just
happened did I disappear did you see me
I'm so confused I lost
everything
oh my gosh can you hear and see
me okay you can you can see
me I don't know what happened I lost
everything okay where are we uh oh I
need to go back oh no I've lost it how
do
I okay okay okay okay
uh almost really
happened um
yes
okay so that could be classed as your
negative adjective
obscure negative positive almost really
happened I'm not quite sure which one
would be which I don't know if you
can uh separate
them I need a very clear positive
and uh
negative
adjective
okay so I think ramelia has
won
the game
again with o fantastic romelia you have
changed your answer from awful
to
obfuscated which would be
another
um
negative
uh adjective and O as the verb
congratulations romelia well done okay
so before we move on to the next word
please remember to be very very careful
with your positive and negative
adjectives okay if you want to make it
easier think about adjec jeives that we
use to describe personality and
characteristics because there are many
many many adjectives that we can use to
describe characteristics and there are a
lot of negative and
positive vocabulary words within those
categories okay so I need a very
clear positive and
negative uh words
adjectives okay Hano that's pretty good
observation obedient offensive and
overtake
okay
okay so the next letter
will be
C do not copy any of my answers from
before
Okay C abstract noun positive adjective
negative adjective and a verb beginning
with
C ramelia has it
again capacity
calm
cynical and
cry
oops ramelia you did spell cynical wrong
but that's fine I know what you mean
okay and we had some other answers come
through alexand
consensus careful careless
create Alexander you would not be able
to use care for both positive and
negative adjectives you would need to
come up with another word okay almost
really happened creativity and creative
again you would have to use two separate
words you're not allowed to repeat but
good job well done Fernanda care careful
again repeating try not to repeat your
vocabulary
words Great Well
Done fantastic right let's do maybe one
more because we've already spent 30
minutes of the stream and we haven't
even moved on to the work yet
h
h
okay abstract noun positive negative and
for beginning with
h
and romelia wins it
again nobody can stop her she is
[Music]
Unstoppable hype hilarious horrible and
hate well ramelia I think it's fair to
say that you have won the game congrat
congratulations well
done well done romelia fantastic work
here you won four rounds of
scatories you are absolutely the winner
of the game well done so we had some
other really good ideas come
through um Maria Caren you would use
honesty as the noun okay honesty
hilarious humble I wouldn't say is
negative here yes fantastic well
done Marina
honesty
horrific oh hate okay so hate as the
noun honest as the adjective horrific
and here well done Marina good job
fantastic height humor horrendous
hustle heaven humble horrible
hate honor healthy hateful harm well
done Casa excellent happiness hilarious
harmful and hit well done dreamer
fantastic oh goodbye almost really
happen thank you for being here it was
lovely to see you well see your
name okay so now what we are going to do
is we're going to do some work oh
no so now we are going to do uh some
formations with nouns and
adjectives what on Earth is happening
here
okay so we are going
to how have I completely messed up the
screen we are going to do some word
formations with adjectives and
suffixes and then we're going to do the
same for nouns and then we're going to
do a little exam exercise and then we
are all going to
relax here we go you have probably seen
this many a time before when learning
new vocabulary specifically word
formation exercises basically here you
have a box of different verb forms uh
word forms you have to change these
words to their adjective
form so to do this I would
recommend maybe writing this down on a
piece of
paper and then copying your
um answers maybe in
chat but just know that the next slide
you will have the correct
answers and the lesson materials will be
available at the end of the stream so
don't worry too much if
you run out of time or if you're not
sure I will show you the answers on the
next slide so we already have some
answers coming
through
no Kash we're just looking at which
suffixes so
able us I Al and
full which suffixes we use to change
these words into their adjective form
exactly so love for bull would go in
column number
one
okay great harmful
hopeful
lovable
comfortable
usable
nope usable
no thoughtful meaningful realistic
pessimistic
sociable pre
preal
Manuel
no
emotional
adventurous
useful
dramatic
practical
predictable
emotional usable usable no it's really
strange doing this exercise because
sometimes I have to think to myself does
that word exist like it's so confusing
but
no please give me one British
girl
um teach and discuss
media
usable
usable to be able or fit to be
used
okay so apparently
exists
but
useful
usable
useable
practical
thoughtful thank you Issa I had to
check
okay so let's go through and check your
answers because we have other exercises
to do so
usable I didn't even put
use
in
the on the
table so oh
no so I'm going to pop that on the table
right now and
then I would like you to do this
speaking
exercise so you are going
to think
about a person that could be
described
using these
adjectives yes kta you are correct well
done here are all of your answers all of
your answers are here um think of people
you know who could be described by three
of these
adjectives and I would like you to share
your description with the
group goodbye M thank you for
coming see you next week
hopefully ticktockers are
dramatic is Julia leaving
too
no I think Julia is staying
Manuel okay so choose one person in your
life because we don't really have time
for multiple but think of three uh three
adjectives that can describe somebody
that you
know and share your description in
chat so it could be a family member it
could be a friend it could be your
boyfriend or girlfriend your husband or
your
wife your
teacher
Manuel I have no
idea a raelia has described
me oh my
gosh are you describing me
Ria lovable reliable sociable generous
sympathetic emotional practical and
careful Julia he is always thoughtful
and showed me and
showed the sympathetic towards others
Julia be
careful
because using showed the
sympathetic is not grammatically
correct I would say he is all always
thoughtful and sympathetic towards
others
okay Manuel is the prime minister
delivering a speech
right
now no no no hjo you can only use
usable for objects if you wanted to
discuss or describe a person you would
have to say helpful so my math teacher
was
helpful while I was in his
class
Alexander my best friend is comfortable
reliable and lovable very nice
and I'm cautious practical person and
harmful to people who I find
dangerous ramelia I'm waiting for the
exam
task we have the noun activity first Ria
and then we have the exam task
okay
Manuel I was such an adventurous
person so some
sometimes
I become lose of the Beaten
Track I was such an adventurous person
so sometimes I would become lost off the
Beaten
Track Manuel one of my friends is very
emotional if she has a letter of
apology to the teacher because her
children are ill she always writes a
whole
novel if she has to write a letter of
apology to the teacher because her
children are ill she always writes a
whole
novel there we
go he is generous and inspired by his
Anonymous acts of kindness Julia is
absolutely hopeful with my question she
has the correct
answer Dominico well I would describe my
girlfriend who is right now beside me as
a thoughtful person she is
absolutely a lovable person who likes to
go on adventurous trips every now and
again very beautiful
Dominico excellent
K emotional people are often
dramatic I am both dramatic and
emotional yes K that's true Hano I wish
I could be adventurous but in some cases
I'm not
hopeful what do you mean hjo I wish I
would be an ad I wish I would be
adventurer
but in some cases
I'm nervous
anxious okay great well done everybody
good job so let's move on to nouns here
you
go using suffixes to change these words
the root words into the noun
form we have men n ants asan it
Al I'm just gonna go and check my lunch
I will be back in one second okay so
start filling out the answers to the
noun formations
please
okay I'm
back awareness
presentation familiar
familiality
significance
complexness
nope uh
explanation curi
osity
resignation reluctance kindness
arrival
formality
government
ignorance
resignation
awareness
excitement
very
good okay teach and discuss media can
you stop
please either participate in the lesson
or just go somewhere
else I'm happily married thank
you
Basher you need to change the form of
these nouns the the form of these words
into their noun form
ability
okay there we
[Music]
go
so we have government excitement
argument kindness awareness
carelessness ignorance significant
reluctance resignation presentation
explanation
information formality familiarity
complexity ability
curiosity proposal
arrival
fantastic everybody well done
so if you want to practice the
pronunciation of these nouns because
sometimes you know you need to practice
putting the stress in the correct place
within a word then you can definitely
review this
lesson go back and uh do a shadowing
exercise where you copy my um
pronunciation so the last activity is
going going to be the word formation
exam exercise here you have a text about
a
professional person called
Phillip you have to complete the text by
changing the form of these words in
bold they are in
order you just have to change them to
their noun form or their verb form or
their adjective form using suffixes and
prefixes we have life therapy confident
ambitious able weak product anxious
approve bully real succeed signify
qualify and
free so number one you would start with
life you would follow the text down
number 15 is
free
don't really know why this has moved
so there I hope you can see
okay
this
for
okay romelia has already
finished
right oh no we still have to do number
15
Ria number 15 is
freedom number
14 oh sorry Marina yes I can read the
text without the answers okay uh
Philip uh Mor ores a former teacher now
makes a good M as a career coach
and he changed his career when he
discovered that he was spending ages
helping many of his students who lacked
M and the M needed to do well he worked
on helping them to develop their natural
M and then showing them how to overcome
their
m one of his main aims was to show them
how to maintain their M throughout the
year
many young people find this hard and
struggle with feelings
of and are unable to complete the work
another problem for teenagers is the
need for from their peers and the fear
of being or laughed at he also
discovered that often any goals they may
have a fear oh sorry they and he also
discovered that often any goals they may
have are rather and cannot be
achieved as he watched these young
people develop into adults he gradually
began to recognize the of his of this
kind of work he decided to do some
part-time courses and once he got his M
he gave up teaching completely he loves
working for himself and he has the m to
help a lot more people than he did when
he was just
teaching
okay so I'm going to give you you're
very welcome Marina I'm going to give
you
maybe two more
minutes okay so two more minutes to
finish your answers and then we will go
through and check them
for
so make sure that you are changing the
form so if you ever see this exercise in
the
future just know that you can not put
these words in the form that they have
been given you always need to change
them
so for example number one is not a good
life you have to change the form of
life thank you
Marina
okay yes ramelia
make a living what's the answer make a
living as a
collocation so here are the answers
ladies and gentlemen I'm sorry if you
did not have time to finish but don't
worry this is just a practice exercise
to focus on vocabulary and word
formations so number one living number
two therapist number three confidence
number four ambition number number five
abilities number six
weaknesses number seven
productivity number eight anxiety number
nine approval number 10 bullied number
11
unrealistic number 12
successfully number 13 significance
number 14 qualification and number 15
Freedom so well done ladies and
gentlemen this is in
fact a
B2 uh example upper
B2 it's um it's taken
from a uh like a pre in the middle
between B2 and
C1 because the context is
[Music]
quite complex but the
Transformations like the words the
vocabulary given for the for the word
formations are easier than C1 so it's a
little bit in between and I really
enjoyed actually I really enjoyed uh the
the t uh eat
paper okay karang right then so that's
it we have finished the stream for today
uh please join me next week usual time
usual place so on Tuesday the 21st of
November we are going to look at some
vocabulary to talk about your relatives
so perhaps we will use some of the
vocabulary from today's lesson
maybe some negative and positive
adjectives I'm going to do some speaking
exercises and also a preparation writing
exercise so writing an article about
your family a relative of yours so uh
thank you so much for joining me today
it has been a pleasure as always um I
hope that you enjoyed the
stream please remember that you can
