let me take you back a few years when I
first started learning English I was
really shy I knew some vocabulary and I
could understand basic conversations but
speaking oh that was scary every time I
tried I felt like I was making mistakes
one time I went to a coffee shop and I
wanted to order a latte but instead of
saying can I have a latte I panicked and
said you want coffee latte the Barista
looked at me for a second then smiled
and said oh you'd like a latte I nodded
quickly that moment made me realize
something important people don't care if
you make mistakes they just want to
understand you so here's my first tip
for speaking English naturally one don't
be afraid of mistakes many Learners
think that they need perfect grammar
before they speak but that's not true
even native speakers make mistakes all
the time the key is to keep talking and
not be afraid if someone corrects you
don't feel bad see it as a chance to
improve I remember when I first spoke to
a native speaker I was so nervous that I
mixed up my words and said I go to
market yesterday but instead of laughing
the person just smiled and said oh you
went to the market yesterday that moment
made me realize that communication is
more important than perfection
two think in English one thing that
helped me a lot was thinking in English
instead of translating from my native
language at first it was difficult but I
started with simple things for example
when I was cooking I would say in my
head now I'm cutting the onions now I'm
boiling the
water over time my brain got used to it
and speaking became much easier another
thing I did was describe my day in
English before going to bed I would say
to myself today I woke up
early I had breakfast I went to work
this simple habit made my brain more
comfortable with forming English
sentences naturally three use shadowing
to sound more
natural have you ever heard of shadowing
it's a great technique where you listen
to a native speaker and repeat what they
say right after them for example I used
to watch TV shows like friends or the
office and repeat long from the
characters it helped me improve my
pronunciation and Rhythm a great way to
practice this is by listening to English
podcasts or audiobooks play a short
sentence pause and repeat it exactly as
the speaker said it focus on their
pronunciation intonation and speed this
technique helped me sound more natural
and confident four surround yourself
with English one of the biggest mistakes
I made was only learning English in the
classroom
but English is not just a subject it's a
living language the more you surround
yourself with English the faster you'll
improve I changed my phone language to
English listened to English podcasts and
even started writing my shopping lists
in English I also followed
English-speaking influencers on social
media whenever I had free time I would
watch their videos or read their posts
it was an easy way to learn new words
and phrases in a natural way another fun
trick label things around your house in
English I put small sticky notes on my
fridge mirror and even my
laptop every time I saw them I was
reminded of those words this made
English part of my daily life five have
real
conversations this is the most important
tip speak with real people I remember
the first time I had a full conversation
in English it was with a tourist who
asked for directions at first I was
nervous but then I realized I could do
it that experience gave me so much
confidence if you don't have native
speakers around you don't worry you can
join online language exchange groups or
practice speaking with AI tools the more
you speak the more natural it will
feel another thing that helped me was
recording myself speaking English I
would pick a random topic talk about it
for 1 minute and then listen to my
recording at first it was strange but I
quickly noticed my pronunciation
mistakes and improved them over time six
learn phrases not just words a big
mistake I made at the beginning was
trying to memorize individual words
instead of learning full phrases for
example instead of just learning the
word hungry it's better to learn the
full sentence I'm hungry let's get
something to eat native speakers don't
speak in single words they speak in
phrases and expressions so instead of
memorizing long vocabulary lists learn
common expressions like what's up
instead of how are you that sounds good
instead of I
agree I'll take a rain check when you
want to meet later instead when you
learn phrases like this your English
will sound much more natural and
fluent seven slow down and focus on
Clarity many Learners think that
speaking fast means they are fluent but
that's not not true speaking clearly and
confidently is more important than
speaking quickly when I first started I
tried to speak too fast and I kept
making mistakes but then I realized that
even native speakers pause think and
speak at a comfortable speed so don't
rush focus on speaking clearly and
[Music]
naturally now here's a fun fact did you
know that babies don't actually learn
their native Lang Language by studying
grammar they learn by listening
repeating and imitating the people
around them this is why many language
experts say that the best way to learn
English is to immerse yourself in it
instead of memorizing grammar rules
focus on listening repeating and using
English every day just like a baby
learns their first language for example
have you ever noticed how kids pick up
new words just by watching cartoons
that's because they hear the same
phrases again and again
so if you want to speak English
naturally try watching TV shows
listening to podcasts and practicing
common phrases out
