They have to travel to an overcrowded hospital 01:49

After seeing so many people wait in line the whole day 02:09

we immediately began the construction 02:14

As the construction of the surgical center was nearly complete, 03:17
we sat down with some of the volunteer surgeons 03:20
to hear more about their experiences. 03:22
I think yesterday when we showed up, 03:24
we had probably around 600 people here begging to be seen. 03:25
And so it only takes one time to see that and to not come back. 03:29
The doctors and surgeons that volunteer to help here 03:34
often see cases that are so severe, 03:37
they've literally never seen it before in their entire career. 03:39
You see, you know, we have 60 individuals here that are volunteering their time. 03:42
They pay their own way, they come back; and they want to come back 03:46
because they feed off the energy of the people 03:48
and the manner in which they are so resilient, and they overcome. 03:50
That's what's infectious is watching the people 03:54
just deal with the hand they've been dealt and... 03:57
make the best of it. 03:59
So after months of construction, we had finally finished building 04:00
GMAD’s new surgical center, 04:03
and it was now time for the big reveal. 04:05
In the name of Almighty God, the Son, the Holy Spirit, amen. 04:08
With this new surgical center, 04:18
GMAD will now be able to provide treatment to more children and families 04:19
of the surrounding community. 04:22
Now we have the ability to perform surgeries to folks that need it. 04:24
After the grand opening, the folks at GMAD held a celebration 04:31
outside their newly-built surgical center, 04:34
and the very next night, 04:37
they were able to save one of the very first patients 04:38
to be treated in this facility. 04:40
A young girl named Mary, whose legs were so deformed 04:42
that she could barely walk. 04:45
But luckily for her, the new Beast Philanthropy Surgical Center 04:46
provided the surgeons an adequate facility 04:49
where they could fix her legs. 04:52
Mary will be one of many whose lives will change for the better 04:53
