slice of life 04:20
but I've been a professional wrestling fan since I was 10, and still am, 04:24
which if you know my age is pretty embarrassing. Another truth... I one time I 04:28
what did you know my age is pretty embarrassing another truth I one time I 04:31
elbow, and then I kept shooting for the rest of the day 04:38
I was trying something stupid that I shouldn't have tried. 04:41
without like your head going through the roof? --Yeah well I didn't know I didn't 04:46
know I broken it yet, until I couldn't pick up a bottle of water and then I realized it 04:51

really tough I'm impressed with that information. 05:00
--So, now give us a little like slice of life this is your little pie which means you know anything 05:06
younger self or or an aspiring artist? 05:09
You just said something 05:13
my younger self Man like I know this isn't gonna really register probably 05:20
but don't worry about being popular. It really doesn't matter. I know it seems so 05:23
but don't worry about being popular it really doesn't matter I know it seems so 05:25
of your life at all. Really, if anything, you should 05:30
of your life at all really if anything you should 05:33
else. You know instead of trying to fit in, try to stand out. 05:36
our friend Bailey has made me. This is a custom-made pop doll by just a pop and 05:40
it is a personalized Jenna doll I'm losing my mind! 05:44
and she has a bang. 05:54
--I hope I know everybody in another 31 years! --31? 06:02
--Okay y'all it is my pleasure to introduce to you our very special guests 06:33
here on paella Road ladies and gentlemen drum roll please welcome Jenna Hunterson 06:49
--No no my pleasure thanks for having me. 06:54
here. So yeah what's your name and what do you do? 07:02
I work at a pie diner, Joe's pie's diner we serve a bunch of different pies and 07:08
make the pie's and I also wait the tables you know great the customers and 07:14
take the orders and do all that stuff, too. --So what do you do for fun? 07:20
Hmm make pies? 07:25
you do for a living. What do you do for fun? 07:33
--Okay well Becky dragged me do it karaoke bar once. That was fun. I'm a terrible 07:38
singer I'm a terrible singer. She's a good singer though she's sang a Mariah 07:40
Carey song and blew us out of the water. That was fun once. Um I don't know I play 07:48
Carey song and blew us out of the water that was fun was Once. 07:52
I don't know I play 07:56
solitaire. 07:57
--So do you have a beauty routine? Take us through kind of what you 07:59
do for your beauty rituals? 08:02
--Oh, what? --Like a beauty routine 08:05
--A beauty routine okay 08:08
no I mean I use a bar soap in the shower and I put lotion on my face if it's dry 08:09
Dawn gave me this chapstick but she bought that like saves Turtles or 08:17
something, I guess if you bought a tube of chapstick it saves a turtle, and so 08:22
I'll use that sometimes smells good 08:26
--So take us through a typical day in the 08:28
life of Jenna Hunterson. what is what does that look like? Typical 08:30
day for me. Let's see I wake up around 6:00 a.m. each day I make Earl coffee, 08:33
make his lunch, and if he eats it. He sometimes just picks up Taco Bell 08:38
instead but that's alright make it anyway, and I get to work around 7:00 08:45
he'll drop me off, unless it's Tuesday's I'll take the bus. 08:49
And then I'm in the pantry right away. I make anywhere between 7 to 15 pies each 08:52
day we have 27 out for everyone, and so just 09:00
depends on the pies, if they last anywhere between two to five days and 09:04
yeah so I make making them all and I work I work most of the day till around 09:10
4:00 and get home and clean up whatever mess Earl made and you know make dinner 09:15
and go to bed do it all over again the next day. 09:20
--And how did you meet your 09:25
husband? 09:27
--Yeah I met Earl in high school he was playing in the band, and after 09:29
school my friend Mandy dragged me to one of his shows, and we met and he was 09:34
playing the guitar. He was cute, yeah that's how we met. The rest is history. 09:39
--Do you have any advice for any aspiring pie makers? Maybe pie makers that kind of 09:45
want to be as good as you are? 09:52
--Advice for pie makers. Well, okay if you 09:54
want a flaky crust you need to use ice-cold water instead of just regular 09:58
tap room temperature water. That's what makes it happen when you pour it in to 10:02
start making the dough with the flour. It's gotta be ice-cold that's what makes 10:06
it the flakiest. My mama would kill me cuz that's her secret. 10:08
--Okay do you have a 10:12
favorite pie? 10:14
--I can't have a favorite pie. 10:16
--Come on yes you have to have a favorite 10:17
or one that you're really proud of or something come on what's your favorite 10:20
pie? 10:23
--Um, if I did I don't know... I have a pie I was most proud of. There's the 10:25
middle school I made it. Those were some hard years. It was called 10:32
the invisible cream pie and I used evaporated milk. --What would you say if I 10:38
told you that there would be a musical written about you and your life? 10:42
--If someone what? Made a musical about me? That's crazy. 10:47
Like singing and stuff? yeah like a musical like you know if someone just wrote a 10:54
musical about you well what would what would you say? -- I don't know. I guess I'd 11:00
hope it'd be about pie 11:05
--So with a lot of people recently I've been playing this 11:07
game to truths and a pie which is what I kind of telling you about before we 11:10
started this interview, and I was wondering if you wanted to play. So the 11:14
two truths in a pie are kind of two things about yourself and then a little 11:18
pie is like a little slice of advice. So what are your two truths? 11:23
--Two truths and a pie okay um... a truth? I'm an only child. Another truth, I started a fire in 11:29
Joe's pie diner once. It was so small and I'll put it out immediately but I have 11:41
not told anybody that, not even Becky. It was I just had lost 11:45
track of time on one of the pies and it was anyway I 11:51
put it out and everything's fine. Um slice of life slice of advice? 11:54
--Yeah what's like some advice that you you know have been given or that you 12:00
would give you know to somebody else? Just a little slice of life. 12:05
--I don't know. 12:08
My mama always said hold those that are dear to you close, and be kind. 12:09
-- I think that was really lovely Jenna Louise Hunterson 12:16
you are a gem and we are so grateful that you could join us on Pie A La Road 12:19
thank you for taking the time out of your very busy schedule to answer some 12:23
questions. I think that everyone's gonna really enjoy all of your answers, and so 12:26
we're really grateful thank you for joining us. 12:30
--Hey y'all thank you so much for watching Pie A la Road it is so much fun to take 12:32
you backstage and to create this for you and it wouldn't exist if it wasn't for 12:36
viewers like you and for Broadway.com so shout out to Broadway.com for airing 12:42
these episodes and for letting me play along. We only have one episode left, so 12:47
uh yeah tune in next time. It's gonna be a blast. You still have a couple more 12:52
cast members to meet, and I'm gonna show you what it's like backstage a little 12:56
bit more and we're gonna wrap up this series. Thank you guys so much for 13:01
watching. See you next time. 13:05
