(bright music) 04:04
Well while there's been some birthday elements 04:09
of our day today, there's also been 04:10
a lot of normal regular life. 04:11
I'm doing laundry, the kids did their chores, 04:13
they're jumping on the trampoline 04:15
and Laura and I are hanging out, 04:16
because Laura is feeling particularly 04:18
nervous about something. 04:20
Since the big storm that we had just a couple 04:21
of days ago, she's not wanting to go outside, 04:23
she's not even wanting to be in different rooms 04:25
of the house than Jeremy and I. 04:27
She pretty much just wants to hang right by us. 04:28
And we keep reassuring her, our house is safe. 04:32
There's no storm today, it's sunshiney, 04:35
what can I do to help you feel better? 04:38
- Just a snack will help me. 04:39
- Oh. 04:41
- Just food will help me. 04:42
- Just a snack, huh? 04:43

This last year, so many amazing things happened. 05:14
I had my fifth kid, Kendra and I have made 05:18
a lot of progress with our marriage. 05:20
We did counseling, 05:21
which was really important. 05:22
We hit a million subscribers with our channel, 05:25
we bought our house, we started a law firm with my brother, 05:27
I just feel really blessed. 05:30
Well I guess the kids all disappeared, 05:32
I hate when that happens. 05:34
- Happy birthday Dad. 05:36
- Happy birthday! - Hey hey. 05:37
- Wow! - Happy birthday! 05:38
- Happy birthday! 05:40
(laughing) 05:42
- It's time for Jeremy to open his presents. 05:44
Each of the kids has a present for him. 05:46
- Did you draw me a card? 05:48

- I hope you hae a fun time golfing and playing. 05:51
- Thanks, that's what that says. 05:57
- That is fun. 05:59

- And 06:30
how's my tie? - What do you think? 06:33
- Great. 06:34
Tell everybody that you have a new tie. 06:35
- I have a new tie. 06:38
(laughing) 06:40
Whoa, tis one's in a big bag. 06:41
This one's kinda heavy too. 06:43
Do you want to help me? 06:45
Alright, let's see. 06:46

Can we play this? 06:55

- Okay. 06:57
- Happy birthday Dad. 06:58
I love you Dad. 06:59
I'm so glad you are in my family. 07:00
Love, Caleb. 07:02
- Thanks buddy. 07:03
- A snake. 07:04
(record scratches) 07:05
- And then a drawing of a snake. 07:06
- Where's the dinosaur? 07:09
- This one's super heavy. 07:11
Happy birthday Dad. 07:13
You picked good colors. 07:15
And a rainbow? 07:17
- A sunset. 07:18
- It's a sunset. 07:19
Dad I love you Dad. 07:23
You are the best. 07:24
Whoa! 07:26
- Your own root beer! 07:29
- Well I might need to share it with somebody. 07:30
- Me me me. - Yeah! 07:33
- All of us! 07:34
- Root beer. 07:35
- I'm a big root beer fan, there's no question, 07:36
so thank you. 07:38
Alright, let's see the card first. 07:39
From Isaac, Dad, happy birthday. 07:42
Ooh, go KC. 07:46
That's a really good drawing. 07:49
- No offense to Raiders fan. - Isn't it impressive? 07:50
- Yeah, no offense to any other fans. 07:53
KC's the best, number one. 07:55
Alright, happy birthday Dad. 07:57
I hope you have a good and fun birthday. 07:58
Thank you for being my dad, I love you 08:03
and thank you for playing 08:05
and watching sports with me, love Isaac. 08:06
I love watching sports with you. 08:09
- I picked last, so, it's kind of an interesting gift. 08:15
- This might be my favorite present. 08:19
Let's see what it is. 08:22
Socks! (dramatic music) 08:25
Thank you. 08:26
I've been wanting socks! 08:29
I appreciate it. 08:32
- [Kendra] Last but not least is Kendra's present. 08:33
- Kendra has never, almost never I think 08:36
kept a secret from me. 08:40
Or a present, have you ever done it? 08:42
- [Kendra] I can usually keep a secret for like two minutes. 08:44
- That's about it. - Maybe. 08:46
- So I have no idea what's coming. 08:47
I know you've worked on it a bit, so. 08:48
Kendra's been super cute about it though 08:50
with her qualifying, 'cause she's like 08:52
I know she's making something 08:54
but she keeps downplaying it, like this is really dumb, 08:55
it's really not a big deal, 08:58
she's been really cute about it. 09:00
- It's just silly and simple. 09:01
- It's just silly and simple. 09:02
- [Kendra] It's just fun. 09:03
- I want Kendra next to me, 09:04
just in case this is like a prank 09:05
and it all is gonna blow up. 09:06
- Do you want me to help you open it, like the kids? 09:07
- Yeah, okay. 09:09
I feel bubble wrap. 09:09
- Go to the side of the bubble wrap first. 09:11
- The side, is there like more than one thing? 09:13
Okay, so, it's a mask. 09:16
- You might need it. 09:19
- Why would I need a mask? 09:21
- It's a hammer. 09:24
Smash me. 09:30
You made something. 09:33
- Yeah. 09:34
- You guys, it says smash me. 09:35
- Your presents inside of there. 09:37
- Smash me. 09:39
- Okay, let's go, do you want to go outside 09:41
and find your present? 09:42
- Let's do it. 09:43
Here we go. 09:45
(uptempo rock music) 09:46
(hammering) 09:46
- [Kendra] Whoa. 09:48
That thing is tough. 09:53
- So this thing is more solid than I expected, 09:54
I'm gonna need a not kid hammer and not doing it 09:56
on the table. 09:59
Should I get a chisel, so I don't hurt the present? 10:00
- [Kendra] Maybe. 10:03
- 'Cause look I can see the present in here. 10:04
- [Kendra] Oh. 10:06
- [Jeremy] Don't hurt your hands. 10:07
- [Kendra] We decided to let the kids all try. 10:08
- So I think I'm gonna try to chisel it out, 10:14
so I don't damage what's inside. 10:15
(chiseling) 10:18
(Kendra laughing) 10:22
- [Kendra] That thing's like really in there. 10:25
- I'm gonna try to actually hit it my hardest. 10:33
I haven't done that yet, 10:34
so let's see how it goes. 10:35
- [Kendra] Uh-oh. 10:37
(yelling and laughing) 10:40
So here's where we're at. 10:44
- To finish this off, I needed a solid foundation. 10:45
There we go. - Woo hoo! 10:49
- Alright. 10:50
It's to go to to a movie. 10:52
- [Kendra] Yeah. 10:54
- We never go to movies and I love movies 10:55
and it might even still work. 10:57
- [Kendra] Happy birthday. 10:59
- Thank you so much. 11:00
So I've had several members of my family and friends 11:02
say that they hope I have a good sunset tonight 11:04
for my birthday. 11:06
- 'Cause they know how much you love them. 11:07
- Yeah, isn't that thoughtful? 11:08
It is a good sunset. 11:10
- It's beautiful out here. 11:11
- [Jeremy] So the kids are at gymnastics. 11:12
- They are, it's gymnastics night. 11:13
So today has been such a great day in some moments, 11:16
and so darn annoying in other moments. 11:19
You I think when the kids get really excited 11:22
about a special day, 11:24
it's really hard for them to behave appropriately, 11:26
abd so we've been dealing with discipline issues. 11:28
That's just real life, it's just real life, 11:31
like I feel like this moment doesn't fit 11:32
in this beautiful vlog, 11:35
because we've got all these wonderful memories 11:36
and all these happy things happening, 11:39
and then you turn around 11:40
and somebody's hitting their sibling 11:41
and somebody else is whining about something 11:43
and that's just real life. 11:45
So we had some other things, 11:47
we had hoped to go out to a restaurant 11:48
with the family tonight 11:50
and the kids just weren't behaving well enough for that. 11:50
So instead we stayed home and had hot dogs. 11:53
(lively music) 11:55
(Jeremy laughing) 12:08
- [Jeremy] Elise. 12:14
Do you want to go home and have cake and ice cream? 12:16
- Yeah, yum. 12:17
- [Kendra] Here's our version of 35 candles. 12:18
♫ Happy birthday dear 12:21
♫ Daddy ♫ Jeremy 12:24
♫ Happy birthday to you 12:27
(clapping) 12:33
- [Kendra] Go for it. 12:41
(cheering) 12:43
- I didn't spit, I didn't spit. 12:47
- [Kendra] Alright, who wants cake and ice cream? 12:49
- [All] Me! 12:50
- So one of my favorite parts of this cake 12:52
is the frosting isn't the normal rich buttercream frosting, 12:54
it's like a light whipped pistachio amazingness. 12:57
It's so good. 13:02
The kids have prepared an interpretive dance 13:04
to celebrate my birthday. 13:06
- [Narrator] Jeremy, a man of good deeds 13:08
who cares and loves. 13:13
Today it's his birthday. 13:17
Jeremy loves to sing and dance. 13:26
And today he's turning 35. 13:34
- [Jeremy] 25, I would've gone for that. 13:39
- [Narrator] That's a lot. 13:41
Happy birthday Jeremy. 13:45
- Yay! - Happy birthday! 13:48
- [Caleb] Goodnight, J House out. 13:52
- [Kendra] New pajamas. 13:54
- We thought it might help her for her audition, 13:57
to practice in front of all of you. 13:58
- [Kendra] There he goes. 14:00
- We're playing copy Janae. 14:04
(Janae screams) 14:06
(screaming) 14:07

- Did you draw me a card?
What did you write?
- I hope you hae a fun time golfing and playing.
- Thanks, that's what that says.
- That is fun.
Everybody, Janae and Mom and Dad
and Laura and Elise and Caleb
and Isaac love each other from Laura.
- She loves her L's and H's.
There's L's and H's.
What?
A new tie?
(laughing)
I love this tie.
Can I try it on?
- Sure.
- And
how's my tie? - What do you think?
- Great.
Tell everybody that you have a new tie.
- I have a new tie.
(laughing)
Whoa, tis one's in a big bag.
This one's kinda heavy too.
Do you want to help me?
Alright, let's see.
Monopoly Jr.
I have wanted to play this with my kids my whole life.
Can we play this?
- Yeah.
- Okay.
- Happy birthday Dad.
I love you Dad.
I'm so glad you are in my family.
Love, Caleb.
- Thanks buddy.
- A snake.
(record scratches)
- And then a drawing of a snake.
- Where's the dinosaur?
- This one's super heavy.
Happy birthday Dad.
You picked good colors.
And a rainbow?
- A sunset.
- It's a sunset.
Dad I love you Dad.
You are the best.
Whoa!
- Your own root beer!
- Well I might need to share it with somebody.
- Me me me. - Yeah!
- All of us!
- Root beer.
- I'm a big root beer fan, there's no question,
so thank you.
Alright, let's see the card first.
From Isaac, Dad, happy birthday.
Ooh, go KC.
That's a really good drawing.
- No offense to Raiders fan. - Isn't it impressive?
- Yeah, no offense to any other fans.
KC's the best, number one.
Alright, happy birthday Dad.
I hope you have a good and fun birthday.
Thank you for being my dad, I love you
and thank you for playing
and watching sports with me, love Isaac.
I love watching sports with you.
- I picked last, so, it's kind of an interesting gift.
- This might be my favorite present.
Let's see what it is.
Socks! (dramatic music)
Thank you.
I've been wanting socks!
I appreciate it.
- [Kendra] Last but not least is Kendra's present.
- Kendra has never, almost never I think
kept a secret from me.
Or a present, have you ever done it?
- [Kendra] I can usually keep a secret for like two minutes.
- That's about it. - Maybe.
- So I have no idea what's coming.
I know you've worked on it a bit, so.
Kendra's been super cute about it though
with her qualifying, 'cause she's like
I know she's making something
but she keeps downplaying it, like this is really dumb,
it's really not a big deal,
she's been really cute about it.
- It's just silly and simple.
- It's just silly and simple.
- [Kendra] It's just fun.
- I want Kendra next to me,
just in case this is like a prank
and it all is gonna blow up.
- Do you want me to help you open it, like the kids?
- Yeah, okay.
I feel bubble wrap.
- Go to the side of the bubble wrap first.
- The side, is there like more than one thing?
Okay, so, it's a mask.
- You might need it.
- Why would I need a mask?
- It's a hammer.
Smash me.
You made something.
- Yeah.
- You guys, it says smash me.
- Your presents inside of there.
- Smash me.
- Okay, let's go, do you want to go outside
and find your present?
- Let's do it.
Here we go.
(uptempo rock music)
(hammering)
- [Kendra] Whoa.
That thing is tough.
- So this thing is more solid than I expected,
I'm gonna need a not kid hammer and not doing it
on the table.
Should I get a chisel, so I don't hurt the present?
- [Kendra] Maybe.
- 'Cause look I can see the present in here.
- [Kendra] Oh.
- [Jeremy] Don't hurt your hands.
- [Kendra] We decided to let the kids all try.
- So I think I'm gonna try to chisel it out,
so I don't damage what's inside.
(chiseling)
(Kendra laughing)
- [Kendra] That thing's like really in there.
- I'm gonna try to actually hit it my hardest.
I haven't done that yet,
so let's see how it goes.
- [Kendra] Uh-oh.
(yelling and laughing)
So here's where we're at.
- To finish this off, I needed a solid foundation.
There we go. - Woo hoo!
- Alright.
It's to go to to a movie.
- [Kendra] Yeah.
- We never go to movies and I love movies
and it might even still work.
- [Kendra] Happy birthday.
- Thank you so much.
So I've had several members of my family and friends
say that they hope I have a good sunset tonight
for my birthday.
- 'Cause they know how much you love them.
- Yeah, isn't that thoughtful?
It is a good sunset.
- It's beautiful out here.
- [Jeremy] So the kids are at gymnastics.
- They are, it's gymnastics night.
So today has been such a great day in some moments,
and so darn annoying in other moments.
You I think when the kids get really excited
about a special day,
it's really hard for them to behave appropriately,
abd so we've been dealing with discipline issues.
That's just real life, it's just real life,
like I feel like this moment doesn't fit
in this beautiful vlog,
because we've got all these wonderful memories
and all these happy things happening,
and then you turn around
and somebody's hitting their sibling
and somebody else is whining about something
and that's just real life.
So we had some other things,
we had hoped to go out to a restaurant
with the family tonight
and the kids just weren't behaving well enough for that.
So instead we stayed home and had hot dogs.
(lively music)
(Jeremy laughing)
- [Jeremy] Elise.
Do you want to go home and have cake and ice cream?
- Yeah, yum.
- [Kendra] Here's our version of 35 candles.
♫ Happy birthday dear
♫ Daddy ♫ Jeremy
♫ Happy birthday to you
(clapping)
- [Kendra] Go for it.
(cheering)
- I didn't spit, I didn't spit.
- [Kendra] Alright, who wants cake and ice cream?
- [All] Me!
- So one of my favorite parts of this cake
is the frosting isn't the normal rich buttercream frosting,
it's like a light whipped pistachio amazingness.
It's so good.
The kids have prepared an interpretive dance
to celebrate my birthday.
- [Narrator] Jeremy, a man of good deeds
who cares and loves.
Today it's his birthday.
Jeremy loves to sing and dance.
And today he's turning 35.
- [Jeremy] 25, I would've gone for that.
- [Narrator] That's a lot.
Happy birthday Jeremy.
- Yay! - Happy birthday!
- [Caleb] Goodnight, J House out.
- [Kendra] New pajamas.
- We thought it might help her for her audition,
to practice in front of all of you.
- [Kendra] There he goes.
- We're playing copy Janae.
(Janae screams)
(screaming)
