Major South Korean blockbuster has

arrived in Vietnam, bringing an

acclaimed director and an allar cast to

Ho Chi Miking City. Hope the latest film

by Nahung Jin is making its Vietnamese

debut with Huang Jang Minho Jang and

Hoyang meeting local fans ahead of its

release.

The arrival of hope has turned Hojiming

City into a meeting point between South

Korean filmmakers and their Vietnamese

audience. Set in a remote village, the

film follows its residents as they face

an unknown creature that threatens their

lives. The story explores fear,

survival, and the human instinct to

protect one another. The film was

selected for competition at the 2026 K's

Film Festival while bringing together

major South Korean stars and

international actors.

Now that the film is complete and is

about to be released to Vietnamese

audiences more than focusing on any

particular message, I really hope that

audiences will instinctively surrender

themselves to the fun, the pace and the

suspense of the film.

For actor Hang Jung Min, the challenge

began with understanding the role beyond

its place in the story.

You could actually think of my character

as one of the viewers. So, I analyze the

role from the perspective of someone

watching the story through the

audience's eyes. I'm actually very

curious about what each Vietnamese

viewer will feel and what message they

will take away from it.

For actor Ja Insung, stepping into the

story meant dealing with emotions that

go beyond the film's physical demands.

>> There were many action and chase scenes

in this film which were physically

demanding. But what I found more

difficult was expressing the fear of

wanting to survive. I hope audiences

will come with an open and relaxed mind

and simply enjoy the film to the

fullest.

For actress Hoan, the science fiction

setting was also a way to look at human

nature.

>> One of the greatest qualities of the

humans portrayed through my character is

their goodness. I hope this movie leads

you guys to more South Korean films.

It's such a pleasure to meet Vietnamese

fans through my movie, Hope. I hope you

enjoy the film.

Hope is scheduled for official release

in Vietnam on September the 4th

following special screenings from

September the 1st to 3rd. But beyond one

blockbusters, the star-studded visit

also highlights Vietnam's growing role

on the international film map as a

potential destination for cultural

exchange and creative collaboration.
