As countries around the world step up

investment in this strategic technology,

Vietnam too is seeking to join the

global quantum value chain.

>> Yes, and there's definitely a promised

new frontier for Vietnam Pho. Now, from

setting up laboratories and research

teams to forming cohorts of Vietnamese

experts around the world, the country is

gradually building the foundations of

his quantum ecosystem. More the

following story.

From a design on a computer screen to a

component smaller than a human hair,

that is a journey taking place inside

this clean room. Through multiple stages

of processing, a complete quantum

structure gradually takes shape, opening

the door to future computing

technologies.

Most university programs still focus

heavily on theory and computer

simulations. Facilities and equipment

like these remain limited. Ultimately,

the goal is to gain hands-on experience

with real machines and hardware.

>> Alongside education and training,

research groups in Vietnam are also

working to develop practical

applications, including quantum sensors

and high precision measurement devices.

These are among the first steps towards

bringing quantum technology out of the

laboratory and into real world use.

At the Vietnam National University,

research groups specializing in

magnetometry are exploring ways to

develop quantum magnetometers with

sensitivity up to 1,000 times greater

than conventional devices such as

instruments could be used to math the

Earth's magnetic field, detect effects

in materials, and support a wide range

of other applications.

Developing quantum technology requires a

strong foundation in fundamental

research across fields such as

mathematics, physics, material science,

information technology, and numerous

others. Over the past several years,

Vietnam's education and research system

has developed to a level that it

provides a solid foundation for

advancing quantum technologies.

Beyond domestic efforts, Vietnamese

scientists around the world are also

being brought together through VN

Quantum, the Vietnam Quantum Technology

Network established in 2025. The network

aims to help position Vietnam as an

active participant in the global quantum

ecosystem.

>> How does it help Vietnam? And I I would

say through three ways. One is knowledge

transfer. I think the second thing is

that uh it serve as the connecting

bridge so we can we can reach a

partnership with international lab that

might take us years to build and the

lastly is I think is about the direction

and so I think uh having this insight

from the people in the field now at the

frontier can help us decide what's the

most beneficial uh next step for us.

Dulam has described quantum technology

as a national strategic technology. This

means Vietnam will have a strong

foundation for developing a domestic

quantum technology ecosystem. Developing

human resources and forging links

between Vietnamese experts at home and

abroad will be crucial to putting

Vietnam on the global quantum map.
