>> Beauty ran for the forest.

Thunder boomed.

Lightning split the sky.

Under Beauty's feet, the ground turned

to mud.

She slipped and slid.

Beast's roars echoed behind her.

>> I wish dear was here to help me, she

thought.

>> A man suddenly yelled.

>> Oh, no, Beauty thought.

Beast has guards.

They're after me.

>> She ran under a tall tree.

>> The voices came closer.

They sounded angry.

Beauty shivered.

Then another bolt of lightning flashed.

A branch fell off a tree.

Crash! It knocked Beauty down.

Ow. Beauty moaned in pain.

She tried to get up.

But the tree branch lay on top of her.

The voices were getting closer.

>> THE men shouted.

Suddenly, Beast was standing over her.

>> He roared loudly and beat his chest.

Beauty trembled.

>> Please.

>> She begged.

>> Don't hurt me.

I didn't mean to do anything wrong.

>> Beast leaned in close.

Beauty could feel his breath on her

face.

She squeezed her eyes shut.

>> I love you, father, she thought.

Then, whoosh!

Beauty felt the weight being lifted from

her leg.

She looked up.

Beast's green eyes were staring into

hers.

"You're helping me." she whispered.

"Why are"

>> "Of course I'm helping you."

>> Beast said.

Whiz! Arrow shot through the air.

Beast fell to the ground.

His leg was bleeding.

He roared in anger.

Beauty gasped.

"The hunters are after Beast." she

thought.

"Get up, Beast."

She helped him to his feet.

"Those men want to kill you."

>> [music]

>> "GO HOME TO YOUR FATHER."

>> Beast snapped.

"No." Beauty tried to say.

Beast's ring glowed brightly.

>> [music]

>> Everything went black.

>> [music]

>> When Beauty awoke, her sight was blurry.

Her ears buzzed.

Then she heard a soft voice.

>> "Beauty, please wake up."

>> A gentle hand touched her forehead.

"Beast?" Beauty [music] said.

>> "You're back." The voice said.

>> Beauty knew that voice.

"Father?"

Beauty slowly opened her eyes.

It was him.

Tears filled Father's eyes.

>> "I'm so glad you're home."

>> How did I get here? Beauty asked.

>> You just [music] appeared.

>> Father said.

He waved a hand around the cottage.

>> Look all this food and firewood.

>> Oh, Beauty was amazed.

Beast used magic to send me home.

He showed me [music] those things in his

mirror, too.

Father looked confused.

>> I don't understand.

>> It's the magic of the castle, Beauty

said.

All kinds of magical things happen

there.

Father frowned.

>> That evil beast and his magic. [music]

Did he harm you?

>> No, Beauty said.

He gave me clothes and books to read.

He fed me like a princess.

Father shrugged.

>> None of that matters now. [music]

All that matters is this, you're home

and safe.

>> A few days [music] passed.

Beauty soon felt like herself.

She went out to check on her garden.

The vegetables were growing well.

But her rose bush looked sad and sickly.

My rose bush needs water, she thought.

She hurried to the well.

On her way, she saw men heading to the

forest.

They were carrying axes and saws.

Wood cutters, Beauty thought.

Autumn is coming soon.

We're lucky Beast [music] gave us so

much firewood.

Suddenly, she froze. [music]

Beast saved me, [music] she thought.

He also gave us food and firewood.

A chill went up Beauty's spine.

doing.

Finally, she spotted a young boy.

Please, tell me, she said.

What are all the men doing in the

forest?

The boy grinned.

We're cutting it down.

Beauty gasped.

Why?

We to kill the monster who lives there.

Beauty turned pale.

No, you don't understand.

There is no monster in the forest.

A man heard her.

>> I saw that beast with my own eyes.
