Hey, what's up everyone? It's Cory here. I am in my Airbnb. Rright next door is a 7-11 and so I went there 00:04
right after I checked into this Airbnb. 00:11
And I just bought a bunch of like weird things that I've never seen before. 00:13
And I thought maybe you guys would be interested in seeing what kind of strange things are being sold. 00:17
So this is a Bangkok 7-eleven snack food taste test. 00:22
Alright one of the first things 00:31
I want to try is this thing called Shots and that's pretty much the only English on it. 00:33
It looks like sour cream and onion, but I'm not sure what the puffs are. Let's go ahead and check it out. 00:39
There's a little picture on the back that says Shots, and it looks like the character is doing like this. 00:44
So I guess this is meant to be just like a quick like grab-and-go snack. 00:49
Yeah, it smells like sour cream and onion and 00:55
it is like a little corn puff. Yeah, it looks like a Cheeto almost. Let's go ahead and try these. 01:01
It's just like cheese puffs, I don't even really taste the sour cream and onion. 01:10
It literally tastes like those round cheese puffs back in the States. 01:16
Let's see how well it handles with this like shot motion that it's suggesting on the back 01:21
Yeah, it works alright. And the next thing is, I don't know what this says in Thai, 01:29
but in the English it says "Extreme barbecue flavor." 01:34
Yeah, so same kind of similar packaging as that other one. Let's go ahead and open it up. 01:39
Oh my god, these things are so tiny. 01:45
It reminds me of like little macaroni, they're these little rings. 01:49
They taste like normal potato chips, I know this sounds really like boring, but it does taste just like a normal 01:58
like Frito-Lay potato chip, they're just in like these little mini bite-sized rings. 02:05
And this is probably the first time I'm eating junk food this year. I normally don't eat this kind of stuff. 02:12
Oh, yeah, taste the preservatives...Mmmm and all those chemicals. 02:18
There's a reason I don't eat this stuff. 02:24
But I'm just doing this for science, for YouTube, and for you guys. (Please Subscribe!^^) 02:25
Alright this next thing here is called a corn filled pie. 02:29
And it looks like an apple pie from McDonald's or something. 02:33
But it says corn filled, there were other flavors, there were like some kind of sweet varieties like strawberry and pineapple. 02:38
But corn filled pie kind of caught my attention and on the back it does say 02:43
"36% of this is creamy corn filling." 02:50
And it doesn't say I need to nuke this or anything so you can pretty much eat this at room temperature. 02:52
Let's take a look at this guy. 03:00
That is so weird, there's actually pieces of corn in there with the like buttery cream. It's okay. 03:06
I think I probably would prefer the pineapple or the strawberry one. 03:13
But now this makes me want to go and get corn soup. That snack is actually a little bit filling. 03:17
And it's a little bit salty, like subtly salty, enough that I'm actually kind of thirsty. 03:21
So I'm gonna go ahead and open up one of these two mushroom drinks. 03:27
Let's go with the black jelly mushroom beverage. It's a little bit heavy because I believe the bottle is made of glass. 03:31
Yeah, we can see it in there with this gold lid. I'm gonna shake this sucker up. 03:39
I like black jelly, they sell black jelly all over Asia. I grew up with it in Japan. They sell it in Korea. 03:45
They're huge on it in Vietnam. 03:51
So I'm just gonna remove the label because the glass is clear that way you guys can see what the inside looks like and 03:53
let me use my flashlight, so you can see the actual 03:59
color in detail 04:02
Awwww. It didn't make a pop sound, I like that pop sound. 04:07
Smells kind of sweet, like very subtly sweet, okay, let's try this out up close. 04:12
Did you see that that slimey-ness? 04:22
All right since I got my thirst fixed, 04:25
there is something here that I saw that was interesting and it's watermelon seeds. 04:28
Now, I know you can eat the seeds of like pretty much anything like pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, but I've never actually seen 04:33
seen watermelon seeds. 04:40
I know there's probably a lot of people out there who are gonna be like what, how have you not seen watermelon seeds? 04:41
I just haven't. 04:46
So to me this is new and I'm gonna try it out. 04:48
Smells like pumpkin seeds, actually. You know, you can see it's actually pretty big. 04:53
Hmm it's a bit tougher than pumpkin seeds, but not bad. 05:02
These are good as like Anju, like this would go well with beer or like soju or something. 05:08
Hmm, I like it. 05:14
No cholesterol! 05:16
Okay, and the next thing that I really am looking forward to trying is this super sour tamarind. 05:18
And it's 93% tamarind, 3% sugar, 3%, Iodized salt, and1% chilli. 05:23
And so I'm assuming this is gonna be like kind of spicy, but also really sour. I don't know. Let's crack the seal. 05:29
Take this off. 05:39
You can you see that it's covered in salt and 05:43
sugar, and it smells really good like that is awesome. I love dried fruit, like dried mangoes. 05:47
This smells like dried mangoes. 05:53
Let's try it. 05:56
Whoa whoa 06:00
It's good, but it's.... it's sour and a little bit spicy. 06:04
There's like a spice that kicks in right away, and then it immediately goes to sweet and like slightly sour. 06:13
Well, it's really good, like this is actually very 06:21
addicting. I feel like I'm eating like candied ginger, it almost has that same 06:24
spice level as ginger. All right this next thing is very interesting. It caught my eye. 06:29
It says "Pandan custard topping sliced bread." 06:34
What is Pandan??? 06:39
Okay, so I'm on Wikipedia cause I had to find out what is pandan. It says it's a tropical plant and 06:41
it's widely used in South Asia and Southeast Asian cooking as a flavoring. So apparently the pandan is medicinal. 06:48
It's also good as an air freshener, the leaves can be dried and used to weave baskets. 06:55
It's a very like versatile plant. Bbut let's open this up and try it out. I think this is gonna be a little bit messy. 07:00
Trying to open this and not get it on my fingers. 07:07
So it had this plastic covering that like kept the custard from smearing against the inside of the plastic. Check this out guys. 07:11
It looks like a some kind of like a green slime butter spread, but it actually smells really good. 07:18
Mmmmmm 07:28
It almost reminds me of like just normal custard. 07:29
Sounds so lame. It reminds me of some kind of like a melon slash custard. 07:34
Interesting. 07:40
Okay, I'm thirsty again because of the breading and stuff. 07:42
Let's try out this. 07:46
Fruit drink or nut drink? I don't know what this is. It's called Bael fruit drink. 07:48
I've never seen this fruit before. Shake it up real good. 07:54
Little juice box. Alright let's go. 07:59
Whoa 08:04
Hmm 08:07
Wow, that's really interesting, at first it tasted just like water, like there was no flavor and then suddenly there was this like intense 08:08
sweetness. It kind of reminds me of like coconut water, but not a coconut flavor. It's more of like a cinnamon flavor. 08:15
But subtle, subtle cinnamon. Okay next we got this 08:24
banana cream chocolate cake sandwich, it just looked so weird that I had to get it. 08:28
All right, comes in a little like tray. 08:36
And it looks like a brownie, it literally looks like a brownie with the crusts cut off. 08:38
You can see here's the sandwich itself. Oh my god.... 08:45
It's so weird that the texture is so smooth up here. It's not like bread. What is that? 08:49
That's so weird. Let's take a look at the filling. 08:55
Oh yeah, that looks gross. 09:01
It looks like some goop. 09:03
Goop spread in there as the bread is breaking apart. Oh, no! All right. Let's eat this before it falls apart in my hand. 09:06
I feel like I'm eating sponge cake with a banana custard filling. 09:13
It's not like a brownie, not bad. It's not bad. 09:22
With the banana cream, it like kind of helps moisturize the dryness of the sponge cake texture. 09:27
That's cool. Would I ever do it again? 09:34
There's probably better food out there. 09:37
Let's dip into this other sandwich over here. This is the shredded pork with salad cream sandwich. 09:41
You can see the crust cut off, but you can see the inside. It's got like that pork floss very fine, 09:47
finely grained pork floss in there, so that's kind of cool. 09:54
I just smelled bread. I don't smell the pork floss, and I definitely don't smell that like salad cream or whatever. 09:59
Let's try this out. Where do I bite from? 10:05
Ugghhh 10:14
No 10:16
That salad cream is actually like sweet and salty together. 10:17
And then the pork floss is salty by itself, so it's like kind of salty, but with like a hint of sweetness. 10:22
Yeah, that's not good. I can't. No. And the bread is super dry like it feels like I'm eating stale bread. 10:30
This is wo bites, that's about all I can stomach right now. So next to the register 10:40
there was these little containers selling chocolate dipping sauce so I asked the cashier, like is this for dipping fruit or 10:44
candy? Like how do you do it, and she started laughing and she said no. 10:51
You gotta dip here sandwiches in it, and she pointed to all these different sandwich breads that I just tried. 10:56
She said you gotta dip it in here, so that's what she said so I'm gonna try it. 11:01
Whoa 11:07
It's like chocolate pudding in here. It's super thick and really dark . 11:08
So out of curiousity, I'm gonna try it with that pork floss sandwich that was pretty gross, but let's try it with the chocolate dipping sauce. 11:14
I mean, that's what she said to do, the cashier told me that this is what it's for so I believe her. 11:23
OH GOD, that's a terrible combination! 11:33
No no no no, this is so fudgy and chocolatey I'm gonna try it with the chocolate banana sandwich. 11:37
Make sure I get a good amount on there, you see that? 11:48
Not bad, actually I couldn't even taste the dipping sauce, that bread really overpowers everything. 11:54
that pork floss sandwich, gross! So gross. I gotta wash it down with a different drink. 12:01
So this is called honey gak and gak is a very common fruit in Southeast Asia. 12:05
Let's shake it up and try it out, ooh 12:11
Very citrusy 12:17
Mmm. I like this way better than the Bael fruit one. I mean it tastes like passion fruit or guava. 12:19
Yeah, that's really good. 12:28
Alright, so I got a mess of things here with wrappers and what not, but we've got three chips to still try. 12:29
So these two are by Lay, and this one is a ham and cheese sandwich flavored chip pack. 12:34
And this is a Miengkam Krobos flavor, and I'm going to assume that is a Thai dish. 12:40
It has a picture of what like looks like fish or shrimp or something, and some lots of chilies and lime and ginger. 12:47
Yeah, so I'm not really sure what the food is supposed to be, but let's go ahead and try this one first. 12:55
It just looks like a normal chip, right? 13:02
Let's try it out. 13:05
Got the lime. Oh my god, as I'm exhaling I'm getting more than just a lime. I'm getting like 13:11
some kind of a Southeast Asian dish. 13:19
Obviously Thai, but I don't know what it is like 13:22
I really don't know what what Miengkam Krobos is but I like to exhale, the exhale factor like gives out an extra 13:24
flavor boost. 13:33
Yeah, there, as I exhaled. Mmmm. I gotta stop eating these chips. This is the most amount of junk food 13:37
I've had in like five years. All right. Let's try the ham cheese sandwich chips. I'm really curious what this is gonna be like. 13:42
Whoa that smells legitly like a ham and cheese sandwich! 13:51
Chip looks normal like a standard chip right? The ham smell smells like a honey cured ham or something. mm-hmm 13:56
Although the flavor is not there, it smells like it. 14:06
Yeah, but then the whole ruffled textured like throws it off, and then it just doesn't even taste like a ham and cheese sandwich. 14:12
All right the last chips. I have over here. That's by this other company. 14:18
I have no idea what that says in Thai, but it says Waffle with like hashtag or sharp, waffle sharp or waffle hashtag. 14:22
I don't know, but there's no English on this other than the company and it says Tasto. 14:29
Oh, so I have no hint of like what to expect other than it says waffle. 14:33
And then there's pictures of red chillies, and there's a lot of chili flakes on this. 14:39
I'm cuurious just how spicy this is. 14:45
Oh man, that's like a very pungent like pepper smell. 14:49
Have you ever like walked up to a pile of crushed red pepper 14:52
and kind of like caught a wiff and it really burns your nostrils? I get that vaguely from this. 14:56
Can you see the red pepper flakes on there? 15:02
Yeah, I don't know, this looks a little bit dangerous. Let's try it out. 15:05
Okay, I'm getting a little bit of the spice from the pepper. 15:10
Not bad, like I like the spice on it 15:14
but I've been eating way too many chip kind of products or bread, so to me right now, 15:17
this is kind of like grossing me out. 15:23
Just cuz I don't eat this kind of stuff. But if you like spicy things and you like chips 15:25
I think this is a good match. 15:29
Yeah, so I picked up kind of like a doshirak 15:33
bento kind of a thing here, and it is stir fried basil chicken and fried egg with rice. 15:35
And I thought it was kind of interesting because of the egg like it's just like a perfect circle. 15:41
Like where did this egg come from and how did they make it like that? See all the stuff here is kind of shifting to 15:47
the bottom because I have it tilted. 15:52
But yeah, let's go ahead and nuke this a little bit. 15:54
Alright guys, it is ready. 15:57
Mmmmmmm 16:04
The spicy chicken, look at all those red peppers on there. 16:07
Mm-hmm It's really good for 7-11, 16:10
probably one of the best like bento style meals I've ever had from a convenience store. 16:13
Now to wash it down, I'm gonna try out this snow mushroom beverage. 16:19
Just take off all that wrapping so that way you guys can see the actual jelly. 16:24
Whoa it's all at the bottom. I haven't shaken this up yet really. 16:30
And it doesn't do the pop, I want like the Snapple lid, like POP, like make a nice pop sound. 16:39
Doesn't smell any different from the other one ,the black jelly. 16:50
I can't tell the difference, I mean they're both good, but if I was blindfolded 16:55
I couldn't tell the difference between the two. 17:00
Last but not least. It says Boran. Let's go ahead and open this. 17:06
And there is the red bean ice cream. Now red bean is awesome. 17:11
You know it's also known as Anko, in Korea it's known as Pat. I grew up eating this kind of stuff in Japan. 17:16
Whoa, really hard. So I thought it was like red bean, and there was like pieces of chocolate. 17:23
But it's actually red bean with pieces of the red bean itself, so you know how when you eat like a handful of like 17:27
chocolate chips, and you just eat them? It has kind of the same like texture. You can even see on the inside there, 17:35
the bean texture. 17:42
Hmm, that's a good way to end off this video. Don't you think? 17:44
Thanks for watching this kind of like Mukbang 17:51

Whoa whoa
It's good, but it's.... it's sour and a little bit spicy.

Fruit drink or nut drink? I don't know what this is. It's called Bael fruit drink.

I feel like I'm eating sponge cake with a banana custard filling.

No
That salad cream is actually like sweet and salty together.
And then the pork floss is salty by itself, so it's like kind of salty, but with like a hint of sweetness.
Yeah, that's not good. I can't. No. And the bread is super dry like it feels like I'm eating stale bread.

She said you gotta dip it in here, so that's what she said so I'm gonna try it.
Whoa
It's like chocolate pudding in here. It's super thick and really dark .
So out of curiousity, I'm gonna try it with that pork floss sandwich that was pretty gross, but let's try it with the chocolate dipping sauce.
I mean, that's what she said to do, the cashier told me that this is what it's for so I believe her.
OH GOD, that's a terrible combination!
No no no no, this is so fudgy and chocolatey I'm gonna try it with the chocolate banana sandwich.
Make sure I get a good amount on there, you see that?
Not bad, actually I couldn't even taste the dipping sauce, that bread really overpowers everything.
that pork floss sandwich, gross! So gross. I gotta wash it down with a different drink.
So this is called honey gak and gak is a very common fruit in Southeast Asia.
Let's shake it up and try it out, ooh
Very citrusy
Mmm. I like this way better than the Bael fruit one. I mean it tastes like passion fruit or guava.
Yeah, that's really good.
Alright, so I got a mess of things here with wrappers and what not, but we've got three chips to still try.
So these two are by Lay, and this one is a ham and cheese sandwich flavored chip pack.
And this is a Miengkam Krobos flavor, and I'm going to assume that is a Thai dish.

Obviously Thai, but I don't know what it is like
I really don't know what what Miengkam Krobos is but I like to exhale, the exhale factor like gives out an extra
flavor boost.
Yeah, there, as I exhaled. Mmmm. I gotta stop eating these chips. This is the most amount of junk food
I've had in like five years. All right. Let's try the ham cheese sandwich chips. I'm really curious what this is gonna be like.
Whoa that smells legitly like a ham and cheese sandwich!
Chip looks normal like a standard chip right? The ham smell smells like a honey cured ham or something. mm-hmm
Although the flavor is not there, it smells like it.
Yeah, but then the whole ruffled textured like throws it off, and then it just doesn't even taste like a ham and cheese sandwich.
All right the last chips. I have over here. That's by this other company.
I have no idea what that says in Thai, but it says Waffle with like hashtag or sharp, waffle sharp or waffle hashtag.
I don't know, but there's no English on this other than the company and it says Tasto.
Oh, so I have no hint of like what to expect other than it says waffle.
And then there's pictures of red chillies, and there's a lot of chili flakes on this.
I'm cuurious just how spicy this is.
Oh man, that's like a very pungent like pepper smell.
Have you ever like walked up to a pile of crushed red pepper
and kind of like caught a wiff and it really burns your nostrils? I get that vaguely from this.
Can you see the red pepper flakes on there?
Yeah, I don't know, this looks a little bit dangerous. Let's try it out.
Okay, I'm getting a little bit of the spice from the pepper.
Not bad, like I like the spice on it
but I've been eating way too many chip kind of products or bread, so to me right now,
this is kind of like grossing me out.
Just cuz I don't eat this kind of stuff. But if you like spicy things and you like chips
I think this is a good match.
Yeah, so I picked up kind of like a doshirak
bento kind of a thing here, and it is stir fried basil chicken and fried egg with rice.
And I thought it was kind of interesting because of the egg like it's just like a perfect circle.
Like where did this egg come from and how did they make it like that? See all the stuff here is kind of shifting to
the bottom because I have it tilted.
But yeah, let's go ahead and nuke this a little bit.
Alright guys, it is ready.
Mmmmmmm
The spicy chicken, look at all those red peppers on there.
Mm-hmm It's really good for 7-11,
probably one of the best like bento style meals I've ever had from a convenience store.
Now to wash it down, I'm gonna try out this snow mushroom beverage.
Just take off all that wrapping so that way you guys can see the actual jelly.
Whoa it's all at the bottom. I haven't shaken this up yet really.
And it doesn't do the pop, I want like the Snapple lid, like POP, like make a nice pop sound.
Doesn't smell any different from the other one ,the black jelly.
I can't tell the difference, I mean they're both good, but if I was blindfolded
I couldn't tell the difference between the two.
Last but not least. It says Boran. Let's go ahead and open this.
And there is the red bean ice cream. Now red bean is awesome.
You know it's also known as Anko, in Korea it's known as Pat. I grew up eating this kind of stuff in Japan.
Whoa, really hard. So I thought it was like red bean, and there was like pieces of chocolate.
But it's actually red bean with pieces of the red bean itself, so you know how when you eat like a handful of like
chocolate chips, and you just eat them? It has kind of the same like texture. You can even see on the inside there,
the bean texture.
Hmm, that's a good way to end off this video. Don't you think?
