good morning i 00:08
actually just woke up 00:10
this is real i told myself i would film 00:13
today from the very beginning 00:16
this is a day in the life of a 00:18
consultant 00:21
i look um 00:23
like i typically wake up five to 00:24
ten minutes before my first zoo meeting 00:27
if i'm working from home obviously but 00:29
there's kind of a reason for that i'll 00:30
tell you in a sec i might go into the 00:32
office a little bit later we'll see 00:34
that'll be a game time decision 00:35
but first let's go to my desk 00:39
[Music] 00:43
all right the very first thing i do is 00:50
open my laptop and check my email to see 00:52
if there's anything that i have to tend 00:54
to or review before my first meeting 00:55
how's my posture 01:01
after i check my email i hop on my very 01:05
first zoom call of the day with my team 01:07
for this particular project the main 01:09
team is myself and three others so not 01:11
too big 01:14
okay part of the reason i feel like i've 01:15
rejected by myself now part of the 01:17
reason i wake up five to ten minutes 01:18
before my zoom call is because my first 01:20
call at least for this project is always 01:22
anywhere from five to 15 minutes like 01:24
it's usually quite short because it's 01:27
just my team and i going over the 01:28
to-do's for the day it's like low stakes 01:30
in that sense you know it's not like 01:32
it's a client presentation first thing 01:33
in the morning if it's one of the 01:35
exceptions where i do have you know a 01:36
big important meeting first thing in the 01:38
morning of course i wake up 01:39
[Music] 01:41
of course i wake up a little bit more in 01:43
advance to just you know get my brain 01:45
alive and stuff to get my brain alive 01:47
and stuff 01:50
clearly i wasn't that awake but for 01:51
these little meetings in the morning 01:53
usually i'm pretty okay to just wake up 01:54
a few minutes before check my email make 01:56
sure i didn't miss anything huge and 01:58
then jump right into the call the 02:00
cameras are off too that's part of why 02:01
i'm still in my pjs all right finished 02:03
that call though and made a couple edits 02:06
to some slides just took about 10 02:07
minutes and then normally unless i have 02:09
any immediate to-do's now is the time 02:11
when i'll go to the bathroom brush my 02:12
teeth make my coffee 02:14
and then come back and do whatever else 02:15
i got to do so 02:17
let's do that and one of my favorite 02:20
things to do 02:22
almost first thing in the morning after 02:24
that first little zoom call i do is this 02:25
mtv welcome to billionaires row oh man 02:31
it's not really in the frame but when i 02:35
say welcome to billionaires row that's 02:36
what i mean so yeah i am blessed with 02:38
that view 02:41
every single day for those who don't 02:43
know or maybe you think you don't know 02:44
but you actually do you've seen the 02:47
apartment videos online it's known as 02:48
billionaires rome it's where the 02:50
billionaires as the name suggests live 02:51
along central park 02:53
i said it before and i'll say it again 02:54
life moves pretty fast 02:57
it's not about personality matrix and 03:02
charts it's all about the bumps in your 03:04
heart 03:07
[Music] 03:08
and now i'm going to use the toilet 03:29
you guys know how my best behavior for 03:31
this video if i'm making my bed i'm not 03:33
like fully making it i'm just 03:35
making it look all right 03:37
i'm not tucking anything 03:39
best believe that 03:41
i'm just gonna put the blanket 03:44
[Music] 03:50
maybe i should do that every day that 03:53
took me like one second and i like how 03:54
it looks 03:56
but it's also good because then you 03:57
don't feel as like inclined to get back 03:59
in bed i feel like 04:02
i'm good on like immediate to do through 04:04
the morning i already did like a little 04:06
bit of work to make the updates i needed 04:07
so now i'm gonna put in my contacts so i 04:10
can see get some coffee and some 04:12
breakfast 04:13
[Music] 04:14
all right since i'm filming i'm gonna 04:18
look a little nicer today 04:20
you can't stop me 04:22
[Music] 04:23
yes sunscreen even in the winter 04:25
especially me like i actually have the 04:28
privilege of living in new york and 04:29
sitting in front of windows all day 04:31
which is not the case for a lot of new 04:33
york apartments so all the more reason 04:34
for some sunscreen plus this one smells 04:36
really good like the beach 04:38
i use it as my moisturizer in the 04:42
morning too the trick is to find one 04:44
that you can just replace as your 04:46
moisturizer for the morning and it 04:47
doesn't feel like a chore to put on your 04:49
sunscreen it just feels like something 04:50
you would do anyway 04:52
let's do a little bit of makey 04:53
makey 04:55
i should tell my roommate if she hears 04:57
me saying dumb 04:58
to myself it's because i'm filming 05:00
a youtube video 05:01
for the men out there watching do you 05:04
know what this is comment your best 05:05
guess down below i've said this in past 05:07
videos but i feel like getting a little 05:09
more put together really helps me feel 05:10
more productive throughout the day so 05:12
i'd recommend that for anyone whether 05:13
that just means putting on a little 05:15
makeup or simply getting out of your 05:16
pajamas i think it makes a difference 05:18
so unfortunate for me i ran out of 05:20
coffee like coffee grounds normally i 05:22
just make my coffee in the kitchen 05:25
which means we will go downstairs to 05:27
actually buy one which will be a nice 05:30
little treat because they have really 05:32
good coffee downstairs 05:33
excellent 05:35
all right i put on a normal shirt 05:37
so wearing my sweatpants but that's fine 05:39
with me and let's go get some coffee and 05:41
then we'll actually come back and talk 05:43
about some work stuff so 05:44
don't worry it will be some of that 05:46
fit check 05:49
i actually didn't even check the weather 05:51
downstairs but i assume this will do all 05:53
right yeah it's cold but not that cold 05:55
can i please do a large latte 05:57
thank you 06:00
got my coffee and back up to my room 06:01
make a little food 06:03
and then we'll talk about work 06:04
[Music] 06:07
you can see why i got the glass desk so 06:26
you don't lose any of that view and 06:28
we'll move this trash can for the sake 06:30
of the video if you can see i always do 06:32
something easy just a bowl of chobani 06:34
yogurt i always try to do something with 06:36
a decent amount of protein in it then i 06:37
do a full banana and then just a healthy 06:38
little portion of granola it's filling 06:40
it's good and easy 06:43
[Music] 06:46
this is taylor working from home that is 06:48
a weird lighting see i really want to do 06:50
it from this standpoint so that way you 06:52
can see 06:54
that but i just 06:55
yeah the exposure is not going to work 06:57
so as much as i like that view i think 06:58
we should do it this way okay hello 07:01
again it's taylor okay so i did promise 07:04
we would talk about work welcome to my 07:06
first day in the life as a consultant 07:08
for those who don't know i am a 07:11
management consultant working and living 07:12
here in new york city and a management 07:14
consultant i'll put up a definition here 07:16
and i'm more on the strategy side of 07:18
things so i consult for businesses and 07:19
that's what i do for a living 07:21
for a living sounds very serious this is 07:24
my first job out of college but it's 07:25
what i'm doing right now so you guys 07:27
have been asking for this video for a 07:28
while totally understandable because i 07:30
put out that why consulting video geez 07:32
like eight nine months ago now and 07:34
anyway i've been at the job for eight 07:36
months it's crazy so first reason i 07:38
haven't made this video yet is because i 07:39
wanted that time i wanted a few months 07:41
at least i've experienced under my belt 07:43
before talking about it and then the 07:44
second main reason is and this isn't a 07:46
knock on my job it's just the nature of 07:48
consulting i guess is that my work day 07:50
really just consists of me sitting in 07:52
front of my computer for 12 hours 07:53
sometimes less lately it's been less but 07:55
you know that's not terribly interesting 07:57
just to watch me do that however i will 07:59
try to my hair looks shiny in this light 08:01
but i will try to make it as interesting 08:02
as possible and tell you as much as i 08:04
can without spilling the confidential 08:06
juice and today i actually will be going 08:08
into the office later which will make it 08:10
even more interesting we'll see how much 08:12
i can film in the office probably not 08:14
too much but at least i can show you the 08:15
view and then later tonight i have a 08:17
fancy team dinner which will be nice so 08:18
anyway we do actually have a fairly 08:20
eventful day okay we could try now this 08:22
angle's not bad you can kind of see the 08:24
buildings and you can see baby 08:26
that's a plus so just to talk a little 08:28
bit about i guess the cadence of my 08:30
mornings and my meetings and how that 08:31
goes on the project i'm on right now 08:33
which i've been on for almost three 08:35
months 08:37
that's a while at least for me though 08:38
it's a while because i've been at the 08:39
job for eight months so if you do the 08:40
math 08:42
and the way that it usually goes for us 08:44
from like a meetings perspective again 08:46
we have that first one in the morning 08:48
where we go over to dues for the day 08:49
it's me and the rest of my team talk 08:51
about who's responsible for what what we 08:52
accomplished the night before things 08:54
like that like the level set for each 08:55
morning which is nice to have and then 08:57
throughout the day we're kind of you 08:59
know it could be a mixture of being on 09:01
your own or working very much together 09:03
with someone else so anyway like i said 09:05
i'm going into the office later today 09:07
and i guess one thing i could talk about 09:08
are the pros and cons of working from 09:10
home or working from the office because 09:12
there are major ones for both like some 09:14
that are very obvious of course and then 09:16
other ones that i just didn't really 09:17
anticipate before i started my job one 09:19
major probe working from home is the 09:21
whole i woke up five minutes before my 09:23
first zoom call depending on where you 09:25
live you're gonna have some kind of 09:26
commute even if you're walking distance 09:28
to your office you still need to wake up 09:29
you know to depending on what you do to 09:31
get ready to eat maybe to get a coffee 09:33
to get dressed and then to walk to work 09:36
even again if it's right across the 09:38
street you still there's some commute 09:40
time for me i lose about an hour of 09:41
sleep in the morning if i go into the 09:43
office first thing and for me who takes 09:45
my sleep very seriously that's not great 09:47
however once i am in the office if i go 09:50
in with say midday or even if i do end 09:52
up going in the morning and i'm just 09:54
able to make it work then a major pro is 09:55
obviously for me getting to see people 09:57
even if you're not like a huge extrovert 09:59
there is something to be said for being 10:01
around people even if it's people you 10:03
don't necessarily know just getting to 10:04
you know smile at people in the hallway 10:06
and have these little conversations by 10:08
the coffee pot what is that called it's 10:10
like water cooler talk right anyway you 10:12
know what i mean like just those little 10:14
informal things that makes a big 10:15
difference in my day i just you know i 10:17
like being around people so that is huge 10:18
at the same time i feel like i'm just 10:20
going like on the other hand on the 10:22
other hand but you know pros and cons 10:24
at the same time if i'm in the office 10:26
and it's a super busy day for my project 10:28
then i don't really get to reap those 10:31
benefits of like walking around and 10:32
seeing people because i'm just at one of 10:34
the desks in the office doing work next 10:35
major pro of working from home is when i 10:37
have five free minutes to myself i can 10:40
do this 10:42
i don't even mean take a nap just 10:44
getting to be horizontal for like a few 10:45
minutes every day 10:48
is very nice can't do that at work next 10:50
major pro of working from home between 10:52
you and me if i have five minutes free i 10:54
can work on 10:56
youtube and i never get enough time 10:57
during a workday to actually get to like 10:59
film a full-on video or write a whole 11:01
script besides i guess right now i am 11:03
technically filming a little bit but i 11:05
just mean i can have time to like write 11:06
down ideas and plan stuff out and just 11:08
get a little inspired with my own 11:10
personal business if you will and not 11:12
just have like my work life and relaxing 11:15
so it's nice to be able to get motivated 11:18
and inspired on something that i 11:20
do by myself another major pro and con 11:23
part of this discussion would be like 11:26
where you're more productive and i would 11:27
say it can go either way for me in terms 11:29
of when you're having a busy day working 11:30
with your team it definitely is 11:33
preferable to be in person i mean you 11:34
can just take your laptop and show it to 11:36
your manager or to the other consultant 11:38
and say like how does this look to you 11:40
because that like one-on-one actual 11:41
facetime is just so much faster and more 11:43
efficient than doing it over zoom but it 11:45
depends on the kind of work that you 11:46
have to do so for that definitely 11:48
preferable to be in person but if you 11:50
just have a slide where you have to make 11:51
a couple different changes or it's 11:52
something a little bit more independent 11:54
sometimes that can be just as 11:55
efficiently done overzoom in my opinion 11:56
sorry i'm just kind of rambling but 11:59
these are my thoughts and this goes for 12:01
most jobs let me know in the comments 12:02
down below if you work from home now and 12:04
you used to work a lot more in the 12:05
office and just kind of how the dynamic 12:06
has changed for you in that way are you 12:08
relating to some of the things i'm 12:10
saying probably 12:11
okie dokie after that little chat i got 12:14
to working on some more tasks for the 12:16
day so this whole day that i'm filming 12:17
is december 14th and if you guys saw my 12:19
last video you would know that i was 12:21
actually at home in los angeles for the 12:22
holidays in early december and i was 12:24
planning on staying there until the new 12:26
year however my team and i decided to 12:27
co-locate one last time this year 12:29
meaning we would all fly to new york to 12:32
be in the same city work together in 12:33
person and have some fun team events so 12:35
that's why i'm here back in new york 12:37
just for one week quick little trip but 12:38
it was nice to see my team and a couple 12:40
friends around the holiday season it 12:42
ended up being a hybrid model meaning i 12:44
worked from home for most of the week 12:46
even though the plan was to be in the 12:47
office every day because with the 12:48
variant and spike in cases in new york 12:50
city people were being extra cautious 12:52
this week 12:54
the first thing i had to do was update a 12:56
slide deck that we were presenting to 12:57
the client the following day plus and 12:59
putting some new data into our excel 13:01
tracker i ended up working closely with 13:03
the other consultant on my project which 13:04
i really enjoyed because he and i ended 13:06
up becoming good friends definitely a 13:08
perk of the job if you like working with 13:09
other people 13:11
then i hopped on a few zoom calls with 13:13
my team where we debriefed some client 13:15
calls that we had earlier in the day it 13:17
was dramatic 13:19
good times yeah i'll clean up those 13:21
notes and get them over and then we kept 13:22
on working for a while 13:24
i relaxed a bit off camera ate a snacky 13:26
poo and then headed into the office 13:28
on my way to the office vlogging in 13:31
public is weird but whatever i'm on my 13:33
way so i didn't really get footage of me 13:35
working in the office but i did take 13:37
this video of the office view at sunset 13:39
not a bad view to see the empire state 13:43
building world trade center statue of 13:44
liberty and wait for it 13:46
[Music] 13:48
the chrysler building all in the same 13:50
view 13:53
for dinner we are serving chowder with 13:55
our finest maine lobsters for the entree 13:56
a lovely eight ounce filet mignon steak 13:59
with some thick bernay sauce on top my 14:01
favorite 14:04
and for dessert a tick tock famous 14:05
ginormous chocolate cake plus a 14:07
cheesecake on the side 14:08
[Music] 14:13
hello are you back in my room 14:18
that's me 14:20
my team dinner was delicious it was 14:22
actually kind of my going away team 14:24
dinner a little bit because i'm rolling 14:26
off this project on friday which is 14:27
three days from now so it was nice to 14:29
have like one final event i guess with 14:31
my team had a nice filet mignon and some 14:33
cheesecake and a bottle of wine it was 14:35
really good when i was in the office i 14:38
mainly hung out with my team it was a 14:40
really light day which you know maybe 14:42
you guys want to see me have a heavy day 14:44
but if you saw that literally that's 14:46
just me in front of my computer so 14:47
that's no fun at least today i had like 14:48
a mix of working from home doing some 14:50
slides going into the office getting a 14:52
teeny tiny video from the office having 14:54
a team dinner so at least it was 14:56
eventful for me 14:57
as much as i wanted to bring you guys 14:59
along all of it obviously it's kind of 15:01
hard to show every aspect so that was my 15:02
day i'll get better at this this is my 15:04
very first one my very first day in the 15:06
life of a consultant in new york city 15:08
but let me know what you guys would want 15:10
to see out of these videos in the future 15:11
i'm sure i will do plenty of them 15:13
because this channel is about my life 15:14
and a lot of my life is work at least 15:16
hour-wise not like validation-wise 15:18
that's a whole other topic anyway i'll 15:20
see you guys very soon thank you for 15:23
watching and please give this video a 15:24
thumbs up helps my channel all right see 15:27
you soon bye 15:29
and merry chrysler 15:32
bye 15:34
a little nasally sorry 15:35
oh my little plants they're so cute 15:37
aren't they cute do you like them can 15:41
you see my finger there they are okay 15:43
i'll 15:46
pull my neck 15:47
and then we'll come back and actually do 15:49
work stuff don't worry this isn't just 15:50
like a 15:51
i don't know what that was 15:53

[English]
[Music]
good morning i
actually just woke up
this is real i told myself i would film
today from the very beginning
this is a day in the life of a
consultant
i look um
like i typically wake up five to
ten minutes before my first zoo meeting
if i'm working from home obviously but
there's kind of a reason for that i'll
tell you in a sec i might go into the
office a little bit later we'll see
that'll be a game time decision
but first let's go to my desk
[Music]
all right the very first thing i do is
open my laptop and check my email to see
if there's anything that i have to tend
to or review before my first meeting
how's my posture
after i check my email i hop on my very
first zoom call of the day with my team
for this particular project the main
team is myself and three others so not
too big
okay part of the reason i feel like i've
rejected by myself now part of the
reason i wake up five to ten minutes
before my zoom call is because my first
call at least for this project is always
anywhere from five to 15 minutes like
it's usually quite short because it's
just my team and i going over the
to-do's for the day it's like low stakes
in that sense you know it's not like
it's a client presentation first thing
in the morning if it's one of the
exceptions where i do have you know a
big important meeting first thing in the
morning of course i wake up
[Music]
of course i wake up a little bit more in
advance to just you know get my brain
alive and stuff to get my brain alive
and stuff
clearly i wasn't that awake but for
these little meetings in the morning
usually i'm pretty okay to just wake up
a few minutes before check my email make
sure i didn't miss anything huge and
then jump right into the call the
cameras are off too that's part of why
i'm still in my pjs all right finished
that call though and made a couple edits
to some slides just took about 10
minutes and then normally unless i have
any immediate to-do's now is the time
when i'll go to the bathroom brush my
teeth make my coffee
and then come back and do whatever else
i got to do so
let's do that and one of my favorite
things to do
almost first thing in the morning after
that first little zoom call i do is this
mtv welcome to billionaires row oh man
it's not really in the frame but when i
say welcome to billionaires row that's
what i mean so yeah i am blessed with
that view
every single day for those who don't
know or maybe you think you don't know
but you actually do you've seen the

billionaires rome it's where the
billionaires as the name suggests live
along central park
i said it before and i'll say it again
life moves pretty fast
it's not about personality matrix and
charts it's all about the bumps in your
heart
[Music]
and now i'm going to use the toilet
you guys know how my best behavior for
this video if i'm making my bed i'm not
like fully making it i'm just
making it look all right
i'm not tucking anything
best believe that
i'm just gonna put the blanket
[Music]
maybe i should do that every day that
took me like one second and i like how
it looks
but it's also good because then you
don't feel as like inclined to get back
in bed i feel like
i'm good on like immediate to do through
the morning i already did like a little
bit of work to make the updates i needed
so now i'm gonna put in my contacts so i
can see get some coffee and some
breakfast
[Music]
all right since i'm filming i'm gonna
look a little nicer today
you can't stop me
[Music]
yes sunscreen even in the winter
especially me like i actually have the
privilege of living in new york and
sitting in front of windows all day
which is not the case for a lot of new
york apartments so all the more reason
for some sunscreen plus this one smells
really good like the beach
i use it as my moisturizer in the
morning too the trick is to find one
that you can just replace as your
moisturizer for the morning and it
doesn't feel like a chore to put on your
sunscreen it just feels like something
you would do anyway
let's do a little bit of makey
makey
i should tell my roommate if she hears
me saying dumb
to myself it's because i'm filming
a youtube video
for the men out there watching do you
know what this is comment your best
guess down below i've said this in past
videos but i feel like getting a little
more put together really helps me feel
more productive throughout the day so
i'd recommend that for anyone whether
that just means putting on a little
makeup or simply getting out of your
pajamas i think it makes a difference
so unfortunate for me i ran out of
coffee like coffee grounds normally i
just make my coffee in the kitchen
which means we will go downstairs to
actually buy one which will be a nice
little treat because they have really
good coffee downstairs
excellent
all right i put on a normal shirt
so wearing my sweatpants but that's fine
with me and let's go get some coffee and
then we'll actually come back and talk
about some work stuff so
don't worry it will be some of that
fit check
i actually didn't even check the weather
downstairs but i assume this will do all
right yeah it's cold but not that cold
can i please do a large latte
thank you
got my coffee and back up to my room
make a little food
and then we'll talk about work
[Music]
you can see why i got the glass desk so
you don't lose any of that view and
we'll move this trash can for the sake
of the video if you can see i always do
something easy just a bowl of chobani
yogurt i always try to do something with
a decent amount of protein in it then i
do a full banana and then just a healthy
little portion of granola it's filling
it's good and easy
[Music]
this is taylor working from home that is
a weird lighting see i really want to do
it from this standpoint so that way you
can see
that but i just
yeah the exposure is not going to work
so as much as i like that view i think
we should do it this way okay hello
again it's taylor okay so i did promise
we would talk about work welcome to my
first day in the life as a consultant
for those who don't know i am a
management consultant working and living
here in new york city and a management
consultant i'll put up a definition here
and i'm more on the strategy side of
things so i consult for businesses and
that's what i do for a living
for a living sounds very serious this is
my first job out of college but it's
what i'm doing right now so you guys
have been asking for this video for a
while totally understandable because i
put out that why consulting video geez
like eight nine months ago now and
anyway i've been at the job for eight
months it's crazy so first reason i
haven't made this video yet is because i
wanted that time i wanted a few months
at least i've experienced under my belt
before talking about it and then the
second main reason is and this isn't a
knock on my job it's just the nature of
consulting i guess is that my work day
really just consists of me sitting in
front of my computer for 12 hours
sometimes less lately it's been less but
you know that's not terribly interesting
just to watch me do that however i will
try to my hair looks shiny in this light
but i will try to make it as interesting
as possible and tell you as much as i
can without spilling the confidential
juice and today i actually will be going
into the office later which will make it
even more interesting we'll see how much
i can film in the office probably not
too much but at least i can show you the
view and then later tonight i have a
fancy team dinner which will be nice so
anyway we do actually have a fairly
eventful day okay we could try now this
angle's not bad you can kind of see the
buildings and you can see baby
that's a plus so just to talk a little
bit about i guess the cadence of my
mornings and my meetings and how that
goes on the project i'm on right now
which i've been on for almost three
months
that's a while at least for me though
it's a while because i've been at the
job for eight months so if you do the
math
and the way that it usually goes for us
from like a meetings perspective again
we have that first one in the morning
where we go over to dues for the day
it's me and the rest of my team talk
about who's responsible for what what we
accomplished the night before things
like that like the level set for each
morning which is nice to have and then
throughout the day we're kind of you
know it could be a mixture of being on
your own or working very much together
with someone else so anyway like i said
i'm going into the office later today
and i guess one thing i could talk about
are the pros and cons of working from
home or working from the office because
there are major ones for both like some
that are very obvious of course and then
other ones that i just didn't really
anticipate before i started my job one
major probe working from home is the
whole i woke up five minutes before my
first zoom call depending on where you
live you're gonna have some kind of
commute even if you're walking distance
to your office you still need to wake up
you know to depending on what you do to
get ready to eat maybe to get a coffee
to get dressed and then to walk to work
even again if it's right across the
street you still there's some commute
time for me i lose about an hour of
sleep in the morning if i go into the
office first thing and for me who takes
my sleep very seriously that's not great
however once i am in the office if i go
in with say midday or even if i do end
up going in the morning and i'm just
able to make it work then a major pro is
obviously for me getting to see people
even if you're not like a huge extrovert
there is something to be said for being
around people even if it's people you
don't necessarily know just getting to
you know smile at people in the hallway
and have these little conversations by
the coffee pot what is that called it's
like water cooler talk right anyway you
know what i mean like just those little
informal things that makes a big
difference in my day i just you know i
like being around people so that is huge
at the same time i feel like i'm just
going like on the other hand on the
other hand but you know pros and cons
at the same time if i'm in the office
and it's a super busy day for my project
then i don't really get to reap those
benefits of like walking around and
seeing people because i'm just at one of
the desks in the office doing work next
major pro of working from home is when i
have five free minutes to myself i can
do this
i don't even mean take a nap just
getting to be horizontal for like a few
minutes every day
is very nice can't do that at work next
major pro of working from home between
you and me if i have five minutes free i
can work on
youtube and i never get enough time
during a workday to actually get to like
film a full-on video or write a whole
script besides i guess right now i am
technically filming a little bit but i
just mean i can have time to like write
down ideas and plan stuff out and just
get a little inspired with my own
personal business if you will and not
just have like my work life and relaxing
so it's nice to be able to get motivated
and inspired on something that i
do by myself another major pro and con
part of this discussion would be like
where you're more productive and i would
say it can go either way for me in terms
of when you're having a busy day working
with your team it definitely is
preferable to be in person i mean you
can just take your laptop and show it to
your manager or to the other consultant
and say like how does this look to you
because that like one-on-one actual
facetime is just so much faster and more
efficient than doing it over zoom but it
depends on the kind of work that you
have to do so for that definitely
preferable to be in person but if you
just have a slide where you have to make
a couple different changes or it's
something a little bit more independent
sometimes that can be just as
efficiently done overzoom in my opinion
sorry i'm just kind of rambling but
these are my thoughts and this goes for
most jobs let me know in the comments
down below if you work from home now and
you used to work a lot more in the
office and just kind of how the dynamic
has changed for you in that way are you
relating to some of the things i'm
saying probably
okie dokie after that little chat i got
to working on some more tasks for the
day so this whole day that i'm filming
is december 14th and if you guys saw my
last video you would know that i was
actually at home in los angeles for the
holidays in early december and i was
planning on staying there until the new
year however my team and i decided to
co-locate one last time this year
meaning we would all fly to new york to
be in the same city work together in
person and have some fun team events so
that's why i'm here back in new york
just for one week quick little trip but
it was nice to see my team and a couple
friends around the holiday season it
ended up being a hybrid model meaning i
worked from home for most of the week
even though the plan was to be in the
office every day because with the
variant and spike in cases in new york
city people were being extra cautious
this week
the first thing i had to do was update a
slide deck that we were presenting to
the client the following day plus and
putting some new data into our excel
tracker i ended up working closely with
the other consultant on my project which
i really enjoyed because he and i ended
up becoming good friends definitely a
perk of the job if you like working with
other people
then i hopped on a few zoom calls with
my team where we debriefed some client
calls that we had earlier in the day it
was dramatic
good times yeah i'll clean up those
notes and get them over and then we kept
on working for a while
i relaxed a bit off camera ate a snacky
poo and then headed into the office
on my way to the office vlogging in
public is weird but whatever i'm on my
way so i didn't really get footage of me
working in the office but i did take
this video of the office view at sunset
not a bad view to see the empire state
building world trade center statue of
liberty and wait for it
[Music]
the chrysler building all in the same
view
for dinner we are serving chowder with
our finest maine lobsters for the entree
a lovely eight ounce filet mignon steak
with some thick bernay sauce on top my
favorite
and for dessert a tick tock famous
ginormous chocolate cake plus a
cheesecake on the side
[Music]
hello are you back in my room
that's me
my team dinner was delicious it was
actually kind of my going away team
dinner a little bit because i'm rolling
off this project on friday which is
three days from now so it was nice to
have like one final event i guess with
my team had a nice filet mignon and some
cheesecake and a bottle of wine it was
really good when i was in the office i
mainly hung out with my team it was a
really light day which you know maybe
you guys want to see me have a heavy day
but if you saw that literally that's
just me in front of my computer so
that's no fun at least today i had like
a mix of working from home doing some
slides going into the office getting a
teeny tiny video from the office having
a team dinner so at least it was
eventful for me
as much as i wanted to bring you guys
along all of it obviously it's kind of
hard to show every aspect so that was my
day i'll get better at this this is my
very first one my very first day in the
life of a consultant in new york city
but let me know what you guys would want
to see out of these videos in the future
i'm sure i will do plenty of them
because this channel is about my life
and a lot of my life is work at least
hour-wise not like validation-wise
that's a whole other topic anyway i'll
see you guys very soon thank you for
watching and please give this video a
thumbs up helps my channel all right see
you soon bye
and merry chrysler
bye
a little nasally sorry
oh my little plants they're so cute
aren't they cute do you like them can
you see my finger there they are okay
i'll
pull my neck
and then we'll come back and actually do
work stuff don't worry this isn't just
like a
i don't know what that was
