(Anchor) Our government’s joint response team left for Cambodia about three hours ago.

They plan to discuss the repatriation of detained Koreans and negotiations with Cambodian authorities.

The government also issued a travel ban for some regions in Cambodia.

Reporter Yerin Park will bring us the details.

(Reporter) Around 5 p.m. today, a government joint response team, led by the Second Vice Foreign Minister, boarded a flight to Cambodia.

Including officials from the police, justice ministry, and intelligence agency,

they also plan to discuss repatriation with Cambodian authorities and participate in an autopsy of a Korean student who recently died there.

(Reporter) The government estimates over 1,000 Koreans are involved in scams like voice phishing in Cambodia.

and related crimes.

The police yesterday repatriated two Koreans detained in Cambodia through their own flights.

More than 60 Koreans who have been arrested by Cambodian authorities are also scheduled to be repatriated this week.

They will investigate the crime organizations and the extent of Korean victims.

The government is pushing to establish a Korean desk within the Cambodian police dedicated to Korean cases.

and to strengthen Cambodia’s law enforcement capabilities with aid and support.

They also announced a travel ban starting today just after midnight for some areas.

Targeting the Bokoson region where the Korean student was found dead, as well as Babesi and Poypes regions with high crime activity.

Reporter Shin Yong-gil, first, is it true that a Korean woman was found dead in Vietnam near Cambodia?

-(Reporter) I am now in front of a building used by criminal groups up until recently.

I just received news that a Korean woman in her 30s was found dead in the border area between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Police are investigating the cause of her death, and her body has been sent for autopsy after completion.

Her family has been notified.

Korean police also received a report from her family and have begun an investigation into potential links to voice phishing rings.

Regarding a young Korean student, Mr. Park, who was abducted and murdered in Cambodia, our authorities have secured approval for a joint autopsy from the Cambodian court.

The autopsy is scheduled to be conducted on the 20th in Cambodia.

(Anchor) And there are some Koreans refusing to return home. Why is that?

-(Reporter) Currently, about 80 Korean nationals are detained by the Cambodian government.

According to foreign reports, many of these Koreans are refusing to return, and the Cambodian government has confirmed this.

Our officials have contacted them and asked if they want to go back, but they refused to leave, saying they want to stay.

It’s believed many are reluctant because they might be involved in crimes, making them hesitant to return.

There are reports about that. What is your take on the situation locally?

-(Reporter) I spoke with the local residents and expatriates in Sihanoukville.

They said they’ve noticed criminal organizations rapidly withdrawing.

As media reports reveal the true scale of these crime zones,

businesses are quickly shutting down, and suspects are fleeing to third countries.

Some Korean business owners operating restaurants are reporting losses as the crime groups depart.

An insider familiar with Cambodia’s crime zones told our team that measures like banning Korean food delivery to these areas have been implemented to prevent exposure.

They’re also strengthening security checks at entry points.

같은 스캠, 즉 사기 범죄에 연루된 한국인이 1000명이 넘는 것으로 보고

있습니다.

-(기자) 경찰은 어제 국적기를 통해 캄보디아 이민청에 구금돼 있던 한국인

2명을 국내로 송환했습니다. 캄보디아 당국에 검거된 한국인 60여

명도 이번 주 안에 송환 조치할

방침입니다. 그들을 상대로 현지 범죄 조직의 실태와

한국인 피해 규모 등을 조사하는 겁니다.

지대에서 30대 한국인 여성이 최근 숨진 채 발견됐다는 소식이 방금 전 오후 늦게

전해졌는데요. 현지 경찰이 이 여성의 사망 원인을

조사하고 있는데 시신은 부검을 마치고

유족에게 인도된 것으로 알려졌습니다. 한국 경찰도 유족 측 신고를 접수하고
