Hi everyone. 00:11
Welcome back to Lavendaire. 00:12
It's Aileen. 00:13
Today I want to share 00:14
some favorites from July. 00:15
It's basically my travel edition favorites 00:17
because I was traveling for most of the month. 00:19
If you don’t follow me on Instagram 00:22
and you don't know what's been going on, I basically went on a huge road trip 00:24
through Europe with my family. 00:29
We were there for almost three weeks. 00:31
We started in Paris for a few days and then we drove all the way 00:33
across ten different countries, and then we made a loop 00:37
and went back to Paris for another few days. 00:41
It was a huge trip: 00:45
fourteen family members in a big Asian tour bus, and it was quite a trip for the memories. 00:46
My first favorite is gonna be my gel nails I got done right before the trip. 00:56
Let me tell you the story about these nails. 01:03
I ordered foreign currency to pick up at the bank. 01:06
So when I went to pick it up at the bank, the teller had these bomb nails. 01:09
They just looked so magical. 01:14
They were so sparkly. 01:15
And I had to compliment her on it. 01:17
After I complimented her, we just made conversation and eventually she told me 01:20
where she got it done. 01:25
And right after that meeting, I booked an appointment 01:26
to get nails done at the place that she got it done. 01:30
And I wanted the same exact nails 01:33
because I just loved them so much that I was like, "Why not?" 01:34
So I went to that place to get my nails done. 01:38
I'll post a link and address down below. 01:41
Basically I get them done by this really sweet woman named Stacy. 01:43
And it's so cute because she only speaks a little bit of English and she speaks mostly 01:47
Chinese, 01:51
so it was a good opportunity for me to practice my Chinese. 01:52
We were only speaking Chinese. 01:55
She was doing my nails, and after I got them done, I was staring at them for days. 01:56
Literally, I kept doing this and looking at my hand every few minutes 02:02
just because they were so pretty and I loved them so much. 02:06
They're just so sparkly and simple, but unique, if you know what I mean. 02:09
I don't normally do gel nails. 02:14
I haven't done gels in over a year, I'd say, 02:16
because I normally just wear natural nails or press-on nails. 02:20
But going on a trip that's like three weeks long, I knew that I wanted to get gel nails 02:23
because gels are really sturdy. 02:28
Even now, after my trip, it's been four weeks 02:31
and my nails are still intact even though I have nail growth. 02:33
So yeah, I think, 02:38
when you're traveling, my best option for nails is to get gel nails 02:39
because if I'm wearing natural nails–carrying the luggages and doing all the stuff 02:43
you do when you travel, most likely your nails are gonna break 02:48
or something's gonna go wrong. 02:52
Or even, at the very least, your nail polish is gonna chip 02:54
and who has time to do nails when you're traveling? 02:57
Next, I'm moving on to some travel favorites in skincare. 03:00
Whenever I travel, 03:05
I try to keep my skincare products to a minimum. 03:06
I don't want to bring too many products, 03:08
so I usually stick to one cleanser, one makeup remover, and one moisturizer. 03:10
Sometimes I'll throw in an eye cream or something. 03:17
For this trip, my main moisturizer– 03:19
the only moisturizer that I brought–was this one. 03:22
It's the Pacifica Coconut Probiotic Cream. 03:25
I got this at Target. 03:27
I think it's pretty inexpensive, if I do remember correctly. 03:29
And it's vegan, cruelty-free, all that good stuff. 03:33
And it's just a simple, basic cream 03:35
that you can wear day, night. 03:39
It's really just simple. 03:41
I like it because it feels hydrating. 03:44
The hydration stays longer than other creams because this one's a little on the thicker 03:45
side. 03:50
And it's really good enough. 03:51
It's all I need. 03:53
When I'm traveling, 03:54
I don't want to bring all my products, like a toner, serum, essence, whatever. 03:55
At home, I pack on the layers, but when I'm traveling, I definitely try to keep it 03:59
as simple as possible. 04:04
This is all that you need: anything to make your skin not feel so dry. 04:06
The cleanser that I brought for this trip was this Skinesque Enzyme Washing Powder. 04:10
I love it and wanted to mention it because it's a powder, so you don't have to 04:15
think about being under the liquid requirements for TSA. 04:19
Because it's a powder, 04:25
it passes. 04:26
I definitely like it because it's a brightening cleanser. 04:27
Your face definitely feels brighter the next day after you wash it with this. 04:31
And it cleanses your face without stripping it too much. 04:36
You don't feel super dry. 04:39
You don't feel like there's too many chemicals involved. 04:41
It really feels okay. 04:43
I do want to note that this is a cleanser and not a makeup remover, 04:46
so I wouldn't recommend you use this to try to take off eyeliner and mascara. 04:49
I brought a makeup remover and then after I took off my makeup, 04:54
I would use this to do the second cleanse and that was good enough for me. 04:58
My next favorite is this backpack that I got right before my trip. 05:03
My qualifications for a travel bag is just any bag that can fit my DSLR camera. 05:08
I bring–let me get this. 05:15
I bring my Sony with me when I travel and, as you can tell, 05:17
it has a really big lens. 05:20
This is the 24-70. 05:22
This is a zoom lens. 05:24
I like to be able to zoom 05:25
when I'm taking travel photos and videos. 05:26
So it's very versatile, but it's also very big. 05:29
And it's hard for me to find a cute bag that fits this camera. 05:32
So for the longest time, 05:36
I didn't have a bag that could actually fit this camera. 05:37
And a few days before my trip, 05:41
I came across this backpack. 05:43
I got it at the most random place. 05:45
It was a stand in a Chinese supermarket, right in front of the Chinese food court. 05:47
There's a food court that I go to, to get Hainan chicken, amazing Hainan chicken. 05:53
If you guys are ever in San Gabriel, I'll post the name and the address down below. 05:58
There's this stand where this lady's selling all these bags, 06:02
and that's where I spotted the backpack. 06:06
It was only $23 which I think is pretty cheap for a bag. 06:08
Once I saw it, I saw that it was big enough for my camera. 06:13
And I like the color. 06:16
It just felt right. 06:17
I'm just really happy that I found a bag because I just wanted something cheap 06:19
because I don't want to wear anything too expensive when I'm traveling 06:24
because it could get lost or stolen, whatever. 06:26
But also, a bag that could not only fit my camera 06:30
but it could also go with every single outfit that I could possibly wear on my trip. 06:33
Something very versatile that would look good on Instagram, all that criteria. 06:38
This bag fits it all, so that's why it was my favorite. 06:43
Alright, that's it for my favorites for the month of July. 06:47
Thanks so much for watching. 06:49
Let me know if you have questions about anything in the comments. 06:51
And also: Let me know your music suggestions. 06:53
I love it when you guys suggest new music 06:56
so that I can add any cool new songs to my summer Spotify playlist. 06:58
I'll link that playlist down below because yeah, it's still summer. 07:02
I'll see you guys next time. 07:07
Love you all. 07:08
