In today's video, I'm going to be ordering at Costa Coffee.

Costa is the number one coffee shop chain in the UK, slightly bigger than Starbucks.

My Starbucks video was very well-received, so I'm going to show you what the biggest chain is like

It's very similar.

Me: By the way, what do you have to buy to get the £2 deal? Staff: Uhh, any medium or large hot drink so you've got the bacon knot for 2 quid instead of 2.95, that's the deal. Me: Oh OK I see, I see yeah. I was gonna say if the coffee was included that'd be very good

Staff: It hasn't quite gone through Me: Oh hasn't it? OK. Sorry

Staff: Do you want chocolate on top? Me: Yes please.

Staff: Do you mind going all the way around to the far end Me: No worries, yep

Staff: 7.15 all together. It should come up on there for you.

Me: Can I ask, what size cup is that there? Is that, um... Staff: Sorry?

Me: What size cup have you currently got under the... (machine) Staff: Espresso Me: An espresso cup? Oh OK.

Me: Is it possible to get it in that cup? If you fill it to the top?

Me: I don't know if that's a different drink name.

Staff: You'll get a lot less than it, is that alright? Me: Yeah that's fine, less... Staff: You sure? Me: Less milk's fine, yeah.

Me: That looks brilliant, thank you very much. Staff: I'll come back for my toastie.

Me: Thank you very much. Staff: Cheers, thanks.

Staff: Any drinks for you? Me: Hi, can I have a Belgian chocolate & cream frostino please? Staff: Yep, small or medium? Me: Small please

Staff: Small one? Whipped cream on top? Me: Yes please Staff: Perfect, anything else? Me: That's all thank you

Staff: A Belgian Frostino with cream on? Me: That's right yes Staff: Anything else for today? Me: No thank you

Staff: Have you got a points card yourself? Me: No Staff: Do you want to start one today? Me: No, it's OK, thank you

Staff: That's fine, don't worry. It's 3.55. If you do fancy one, I would admit, the app is probably a little bit easier Me: Oh right, OK. Thank you

Staff: You've got to go online anyway, so it's like Me: Right yeah

Me: I'm starting to come enough that I might make use of one to be fair.

Staff: It's one of them things that I put off. I'm like "nah, I don't drink that much coffee, nah, I'm alright". Me: I'm like that with a Tesco Clubcard. I'd probably have made a fortune if I had a Clubcard

Staff: Honestly, do you know what, we went the other day, funny you say that. And I thought I was saving a fortune. "Ah, this Clubcard's great!". I saved £3.50, and I spent about 80 quid. Me: Oh right

Staff: Honestly, I thought... I was picking up, "Ah, Clubcard saving, Clubcard saving", and the way they rope you in must be funny.

Staff: I didn't even save that much, I got to the end and I was like "..." Me: Yeah but over the years I must have spent thousands at Tesco to be fair. Staff: Ah, yeah. I thought I must have saved like, 12, 13 quid easy. £3.50 I was [inaudible]

Staff 1: That's how they get you. Now they've got me hooked buying stuff, and I to Tesco. Staff 2: Here you go Me: Thanks very much

Me: They're doing that Clubcard pricing now aren't they which is really annoying, where it's like separate prices.

Staff: Especially coffee, I don't know if you drink much coffee at home but, you can probably save about £1.50 on a tin of coffee. Me: Yeah Staff: If you're buying one of them every couple of weeks ... Me: Yeah, true

Me: Thank you very much. Do you have a bin I can just drop this in? Staff: Oh, just leave it anywhere on the end there. Me: Are you sure, OK, thank you. Oh, just here? Yep. Cheers

That's the last time I'll order in this video

I'll just talk a little bit about Costa before this video ends.

In the Starbucks video I filmed, I briefly talked about costa

It's since come to my attention that I actually told something that wasn't true.

I thought that Costa was only a British chain, but it turns out that Costa is actually in many countries.

It's just the operations are nowhere near as big as they are in the UK.

The UK is by far the biggest market (for Costa)

and then in other countries, there will be much bigger chains than Costa. Most likely Starbucks.

I also learned that it got bought by Coca-Cola a few years ago.

To be honest, the format of Starbucks and Costa are basically identical

I think both chains copy each other.

If one of them has a really good idea, then the other one will launch a very similar product

Personally, I think that Costa is nicer

but it's very close.

Maybe they train the baristas better than Starbucks do.

I'm not sure I have much else to talk about in this video, so I won't go on forever.
