Let's talk about inner glow-ups 00:00
and how they manifest externally, 00:01
meaning when you start to shift what's on the inside, 00:04
like your thoughts, emotions, energy, 00:07
they literally manifest externally. 00:09
Like you can see the physical changes. 00:12
At least that's what I've seen in my personal life. 00:15
Let me know if you've experienced this, 00:18
but this is something 00:20
that I don't feel like enough people talk about. 00:21
How shifting internally, 00:23
all that inner glow-up literally makes you more beautiful. 00:26
I don't know what it is. 00:30
Actually, I know what it is. 00:31
It's energy. 00:32
So here are pictures of me before, 00:33
and here are pictures of me now. 00:35
I know that a lot of it can be attributed 00:37
to learning beauty, fashion, skincare, 00:39
just I think the glow-up, growing older, 00:42
I think, at least for me, 00:44
Asian women blossom a little bit later. 00:47
Like I started blossoming 00:49
more in my mid to late twenties to thirties. 00:50
Of course there are a lot of factors, 00:53
but I literally feel more beautiful now 00:55
even without makeup, just my plain self, 00:59
I feel more beautiful now than I did before. 01:01
And I think a big change is the internal, 01:05
it's the energy, it's the mindset, 01:08
it's the beliefs, it's the self love, 01:10
it's the learning to accept, embrace, 01:12
and then express your true self. 01:14
There's so many facets. 01:17
It all starts internally though. 01:19
Like if you don't feel good about yourself, 01:21
you're not gonna take care of yourself, 01:23
and then you're not gonna put effort 01:25
into wellness and skincare, 01:26
and learning all these other things 01:29
to make yourself feel good, feel like your best self. 01:30
So today, let's talk about the seven things that I've done 01:33
to shift internally that contributed to my glow-up. 01:38
The first shift that I made 01:43
that completely transformed my life, 01:44
inner glow-up to external glow-up, 01:46
is I began to listen to my heart and intuition. 01:48
I began to honor myself and started living for myself. 01:53
This is huge. 01:58
I talk about my story 02:00
as if there's kind of like this divide. 02:01
And this divide was around age 20 for me. 02:04
I was about junior to senior year of college. 02:08
So pre age 20, I call my autopilot years. 02:10
And what I mean by that is I lived for others. 02:13
I did what others told me to do. 02:17
I was very just like follow the path 02:18
that others told me to go. 02:20
And I was operating from just that level 02:22
of social societal conditioning, 02:24
like being the person that my parents wanted me to be, 02:27
trying to do well in school, 02:31
and not really too much thinking for me. 02:32
And then I had this mental breakdown, 02:37
just lost in life few years, 02:40
where I started to question everything 02:43
and I started to question, "What do I want in life? 02:45
What do I wanna do? 02:48
Is this what makes me truly happy? 02:50
Do I really want this?" 02:53
And once I started asking those questions, 02:54
ultimately, like, I started living for myself. 02:56
And I think that big launch of living for myself 03:00
following my heart and intuition 03:03
was when I graduated college, 03:05
and I decided not to take a corporate job. 03:06
I decided I was going to pursue creativity, 03:09
and being an artist 03:12
at anything that like I was interested in. 03:13
So I pursued music, acting, hosting, 03:16
I just said yes to all these random jobs 03:19
and creative industries just to explore. 03:21
And that was kind of the opening of my heart, 03:24
and just being bold to live for myself and not for others. 03:28
And it was the first time 03:32
I, like, rejected, like, the carved path. 03:33
You know, I decided to take a new path. 03:37
Living in that way since around age 21, 03:39
definitely contributed to my happiness in life. 03:43
Because once you start to honor yourself 03:46
and live for yourself, 03:48
you do what's best for you, 03:50
you start to put yourself first, 03:52
and then thus begins the journey of self-love, 03:54
self-discovery, like figuring out who you are in the world, 03:58
what you want in the world, 04:02
and ultimately living your life for you. 04:03
And when you live in that way, 04:06
you just glow, like you're living from your light. 04:07
And so honestly, that's like a huge, huge internal shift 04:10
that can lead to a huge glow-up. 04:15
The second internal shift that I made, 04:17
and I already mentioned it, 04:19
is I started to cultivate self-love. 04:20
And this is a long journey, 04:23
because it's not easy to love yourself 04:25
when you've spent a lifetime being your own worst critic 04:27
and feeling bad about yourself, 04:31
feeling insecure, not really knowing how to be confident, 04:33
not knowing how to take up space in a room, 04:37
how to speak up for yourself. 04:40
There were so many things 04:42
that I didn't know when I was younger, 04:43
and I had to learn it along the way. 04:45
But truly like nurturing that relationship with myself, 04:47
learning how to, like, express the thoughts in my head 04:52
and then become aware of how mean I was to myself, 04:56
how hard I was on myself, 04:59
and learning to work through that 05:01
and build a more positive mental, emotional, 05:03
spiritual relationship with myself. 05:06
That is what I call the journey of cultivating self-love. 05:09
And on that journey, 05:12
like the further down you go on that journey, 05:14
I believe the more beautiful you become as a person, 05:17
because you are giving yourself more and more love. 05:20
And when you give yourself love, you're also glowing. 05:23
You're also like, I don't know, 05:26
just nurturing the best of yourself. 05:28
And that is another huge shift 05:31
that I believe contributes 05:35
to that internal and external glow-up. 05:36
Because like I said in the beginning, 05:38
if you don't truly love yourself, 05:40
you're not going to try to take care of yourself. 05:42
You're not gonna believe you deserve to be beautiful, 05:45
feel beautiful, to be healthy, to eat good foods, 05:49
and to exercise and do all these things 05:52
that contribute to that external glow-up. 05:54
The third internal shift 05:57
that took me a while to really learn and understand 05:58
is to learn to forgive. 06:01
And this means to truly, actually let go 06:04
of your internal grudges, resentment, 06:09
any negative emotions that you might have 06:12
towards people in your life. 06:14
No matter what, the emotions you have, 06:16
even though you have like resentment or anger 06:19
or frustration towards a person, 06:21
they don't necessarily feel it. 06:23
You are the one feeling your own emotions, your own energy. 06:24
So it's kinda like you want it to affect them, 06:28
but in in reality, 06:30
it's hurting you more than it's hurting anybody else. 06:31
So forgiveness is truly the power, 06:34
the superpower that you can use to let yourself go, 06:39
to like let go of all that suffering, 06:43
to let go of all that pain, that unnecessary emotion 06:45
that really doesn't have, 06:50
like you don't really have to hold onto. 06:52
I know hearing that might be difficult for a lot of people, 06:54
and emotions are not easy to let go. 06:57
It's like in our bodies. 06:59
And it's something that it's not just like, 07:00
"Oh, let me just think about letting it go. 07:03
It's gone." 07:05
No, it takes time, it takes processing, 07:06
it takes healing from the traumas, or whatever it is. 07:08
But just understand this concept 07:11
that forgiveness is your kindness to yourself, 07:14
because you are allowing yourself to find peace again, 07:19
forgiveness is just letting go of the idea 07:23
that the past could be any different, 07:26
because you can't change the past, it happened. 07:28
The best thing you can do for yourself, 07:31
instead of holding onto those negative emotions, 07:33
is to accept the past for what happened. 07:35
Reframe whatever you can. 07:39
Like try to see it from whatever new angles 07:41
that can help you feel a little bit more positive about it, 07:44
a little bit more at peace about it. 07:47
And then just look forward. 07:49
Try your best to let it go, look forward. 07:53
But it's a process. 07:55
So for me at least, 07:57
learning to forgive the people who have hurt me in my life 07:59
was a process of so much healing. 08:03
But learning to truly do that 08:06
seriously contributed to a glow-up. 08:09
Because girl, you're like letting go of so much baggage, 08:11
so much negative energy, a lot of burdens on your shoulder, 08:15
it's almost like you become a purer person. 08:19
You become a more pure type of energy, 08:22
the more you let go of this heavy, dark energy 08:25
or emotions that you're holding onto. 08:28
And that's why I feel like as I've gotten older, 08:31
I've gotten more lighthearted and less serious 08:35
and less dramatic. 08:37
And I don't know, I just feel so much happier and lighter. 08:38
And that shows on the outside 08:43
as much as I feel it on the inside. 08:45
The next shift is very similar to the previous one, 08:47
but it's a big one. 08:50
Healing from your emotional wounds and traumas. 08:51
So the process of processing your trauma, 08:55
healing from it, whether it's through therapy, 09:00
like mental talk therapy, journaling, 09:02
or whether it's through more spiritual 09:05
or holistic methods and modalities, 09:08
like, I've tried a lot of things for healing. 09:11
Like breath work has been really transformational for me. 09:13
Like it's called holotropic breath work 09:16
or shamanic breath work. 09:19
I have been on that energy healing, I guess, therapy journey 09:20
that I've shared with you guys on this channel, 09:25
where Wilson and I did two to three years, 09:27
I did a little bit longer, 09:29
of literally physical in-person energy, 09:30
holistic healing therapy sessions. 09:34
And I felt like I physically released so much from my body, 09:37
so many emotions, so many old memories 09:41
just coming up, releasing, crying, 09:44
let it go, sobbing, just like body shaking. 09:46
I literally had a lot of bodily reactions 09:49
letting go of whatever trauma emotions 09:51
that I had in me from my childhood. 09:55
And so everyone is different, 09:57
because everyone probably does not experience 09:59
the same things. 10:01
Everyone probably doesn't define healing as the same thing, 10:02
but whatever it is for you, however you define it, 10:06
however you heal and process your life, 10:09
it's important to do. 10:13
It's so important. 10:15
It's similar to forgiveness, 10:16
like the more you heal the lighter and brighter you feel, 10:17
you literally are just like cleansing. 10:22
You're letting go of anything that doesn't serve you. 10:24
Anything that's heavy, anything that's not you, 10:26
that's not the pure true part of you. 10:28
And then the more you heal, 10:31
it's kind of like you're letting go of the layers, 10:33
you're unraveling the layers, 10:35
you're taking off just the layers of heaviness, is all. 10:36
It's just the best way I can describe it. 10:40
And what you end up with 10:42
is just pure essence of your brightest, lightest self, 10:44
like, and it's a joy to be your brightest, lightest self. 10:50
Like if you think of who you are, 10:54
when you are the most joyful and the most carefree, 10:56
and the most in flow and the most aligned, 10:59
that's like the best feeling, 11:02
and that is the type of life that you live 11:04
the more that you heal from your traumas, 11:07
because you get triggered less, 11:10
you just have less things weighing you down. 11:12
Highly recommend. (chuckles) 11:15
Number five. 11:17
Another thing that hugely contributed 11:18
to my inner external glow-up is meditation. 11:19
Clearly meditation is a huge part of my life, 11:23
but I pointed out here 11:26
because meditation is one of the best, if not the best way, 11:28
to connect with your inner self, 11:32
to try to connect with your soul or whatever, 11:35
your true self. 11:37
And it is just so grounding, so calming. 11:39
It's a way to just like detach 11:43
from the crazy ongoing thoughts of your brain. 11:45
And I really believe the more you meditate, 11:50
the more you calm down your nervous system. 11:53
And I just feel like 11:55
you're regulating your body in a healthy way. 11:56
Like you are just feeling at peace, you're feeling safe, 11:58
you're tapped in, you're getting intuitive downloads, 12:03
and it just, it's so physically good for your body. 12:06
I'm sure there's studies and all these bullet point lists 12:10
of how meditation can improve your health 12:14
and change your life, 12:16
like better sleep, 12:17
better concentration, 12:19
you're gonna be more productive. 12:20
And then a lot of internal benefits, 12:21
like connection with self, 12:24
connection with the divine, 12:26
feeling intuitive, 12:28
and greater inner peace, greater emotional management, 12:29
emotional stability. 12:34
I personally also love doing energy cleansing meditations. 12:35
I've done a lot of them in my guided meditations. 12:39
But meditation's also a way 12:42
where you can like cleanse and reset your energy, 12:43
and everything is energy. 12:46
So if you cleanse your energy, 12:48
then you're gonna be bright. 12:50
It's as if you have access to like a shower, 12:52
an energy shower whenever you want, 12:55
so that you can always be 12:56
your most brightest, beautiful self. 12:58
Number six, I started to prioritize my wellbeing. 13:00
This is something that's a little more recent. 13:04
I would say in the past four years or so 13:06
I really started to prioritize my wellbeing, 13:08
meaning put it as like number one priority, 13:11
my health, my sleep, my eating, my fitness. 13:14
Like making sure that I am taking care of my physical body 13:18
as well as my mental health, 13:22
and making sure that I am not stressed, 13:24
like trying not to be stressed, 13:27
trying not to be overwhelmed, 13:29
trying not to burn myself out, 13:30
really taking care of my wellbeing in all the ways. 13:32
I would say in my twenties, 13:35
I didn't exactly prioritize wellbeing as number one, 13:37
because I was prioritizing work and career. 13:40
I was really in kind of a hustle mode, 13:43
like I have to make this work sort of mentality. 13:45
And so sometimes health gets sacrificed, which can be okay. 13:48
You know, you choose and prioritize what matters to you. 13:52
But at least now in my thirties, 13:55
I have truly started to prioritize wellbeing. 13:57
And in fact, I love it. 13:59
It's like a passion. 14:01
I love learning new things, 14:02
new ways where I could take care of myself. 14:04
I love skincare, I love gua sha massage, 14:07
like stretching, yoga, 14:10
like just so many things that I will do 14:12
or try and experiment in wellness, 14:16
because I just love learning all the ways 14:19
that I can take better and better care of myself. 14:21
Like I love red light therapy. 14:25
I love learning about like traditional Chinese medicine, 14:27
like what herbs are for what? 14:30
Like how if I'm not sleeping well, 14:33
what can I take for insomnia? 14:34
What can I drink for skin? 14:36
What can I drink for better digestion, 14:38
for just everything? 14:40
Give me the probiotics. 14:41
Like I really care about wellness, 14:43
because I want to take the best care of myself 14:45
as I possibly can. 14:49
And this is something 14:51
that has developed more in my later years. 14:52
But definitely like prioritizing wellness 14:55
has obviously made me glow up, 14:57
because I'm focusing on it. 15:00
You guys, I, even like with my face, 15:02
I will stand there for an hour, or even longer sometimes, 15:05
in the bathroom, 15:08
massaging, stretching my neck, massaging this, 15:09
doing the scalp massages, 15:13
just loosening whatever tense muscles I can. 15:15
And I truly believe that contributes. 15:18
Like, there's so many little things that I will do 15:21
to contribute to wellness and glow-ups. 15:24
The last one I'll share with you guys today 15:27
is how I started to focus on joy, love, and gratitude 15:28
every single day in my life. 15:35
So this is just about the mindset shift, 15:37
and we're utilizing law of attraction, manifesting, 15:40
and also neuroscience, right? 15:43
So basically, you've heard me talk about this before, 15:45
that whatever you focus on grows. 15:48
If you wanna manifest something in your life, focus on it. 15:51
If you want more good things to come, focus on the good. 15:54
Like focus on what you're grateful for. 15:58
Focus on the love in your life, the joy in your life. 16:00
When you focus on these things, 16:03
it invites more of it to come into your life. 16:05
So regardless of like how it works, 16:07
don't worry about how it works, just focus on it 16:10
and make it a daily practice, a daily commitment, 16:13
because then life truly becomes more joyful, 16:17
more bright, more beautiful, 16:22
and it really shifts your perspective, 16:24
and thus shifts your entire life. 16:27
Like once you start to see, 16:30
"Oh my God, my life is so wonderful, 16:31
it's so beautiful, it's amazing. 16:33
I'm so grateful for this, this, and this. 16:34
Oh my gosh, I had so much fun today. 16:36
Oh, I was so fully in my joy today 16:38
doing this thing I love to do. 16:40
Oh, I felt so much love today. 16:42
Love from my dog, from my partner, 16:44
from my family, from my friends." 16:46
The more you live with that perspective, 16:48
literally, the more your life is going to feel that way. 16:52
And that's why I love, 16:55
like, positive affirmations, manifesting. 16:57
It's just one of my favorite things, 17:00
but it honestly is such a contributing factor 17:01
to glowing up internally and externally. 17:06
One thing that I always like to remind myself 17:10
is life should be joyful and life should feel good. 17:12
So I should always make sure 17:17
that I am doing or living in a way 17:19
that makes me feel good, 17:21
that makes me feel joyful. 17:23
And it's such a simple concept, 17:25
but it applies to everything. 17:28
And it can be so life changing 17:30
if you truly think that way 17:32
and you truly prioritize joy, 17:33
prioritize feeling good in your life, 17:36
prioritize, like, not sacrificing yourself, 17:38
not suffering too much. 17:40
So yeah, I really, really believe 17:42
that energetic shift makes such a difference. 17:45
You just become so magnetic, 17:48
you attract so many good things, 17:49
you attract opportunities, 17:51
and you attract good people in your life too, 17:53
who also love and want more of that good energy. 17:55
If you want to start living in this way, 17:58
focusing more on the joy, the love, 18:00
and the gratitude in your life, 18:02
I'm actually really excited to remind you 18:04
that we have a "Joy Journal" at The Lavendaire Shop. 18:07
If you haven't heard of it, 18:10
it's basically our super simple, easy, 18:12
literally five minute journal that you can do 18:15
every single day. 18:17
There's a morning section 18:18
where it guides you to journal your gratitude 18:19
and how you're gonna follow your joy today, 18:21
and that in the evening, you just reflect on your day, 18:23
what were your wins, what can you celebrate? 18:26
What made your day so beautiful and so joyful? 18:28
What are you grateful for? 18:31
And so it's really simple. 18:32
It takes no more than 5 to 10 minutes a day, 18:34
but it's a great way 18:37
to, like, focus your attention and your energy 18:38
on the joy, the love, the beauty, the gratitude. 18:41
And so I love it as a tool, 18:44
and it's one of our favorite products on the shop. 18:46

[English]
Let's talk about inner glow-ups
and how they manifest externally,
meaning when you start to shift what's on the inside,
like your thoughts, emotions, energy,
they literally manifest externally.
Like you can see the physical changes.
At least that's what I've seen in my personal life.
Let me know if you've experienced this,
but this is something
that I don't feel like enough people talk about.
How shifting internally,
all that inner glow-up literally makes you more beautiful.
I don't know what it is.
Actually, I know what it is.
It's energy.
So here are pictures of me before,
and here are pictures of me now.
I know that a lot of it can be attributed
to learning beauty, fashion, skincare,
just I think the glow-up, growing older,
I think, at least for me,
Asian women blossom a little bit later.
Like I started blossoming
more in my mid to late twenties to thirties.
Of course there are a lot of factors,
but I literally feel more beautiful now
even without makeup, just my plain self,
I feel more beautiful now than I did before.
And I think a big change is the internal,
it's the energy, it's the mindset,
it's the beliefs, it's the self love,
it's the learning to accept, embrace,
and then express your true self.
There's so many facets.
It all starts internally though.
Like if you don't feel good about yourself,
you're not gonna take care of yourself,
and then you're not gonna put effort
into wellness and skincare,
and learning all these other things
to make yourself feel good, feel like your best self.
So today, let's talk about the seven things that I've done
to shift internally that contributed to my glow-up.
The first shift that I made
that completely transformed my life,
inner glow-up to external glow-up,
is I began to listen to my heart and intuition.
I began to honor myself and started living for myself.
This is huge.
I talk about my story
as if there's kind of like this divide.
And this divide was around age 20 for me.
I was about junior to senior year of college.
So pre age 20, I call my autopilot years.
And what I mean by that is I lived for others.
I did what others told me to do.
I was very just like follow the path
that others told me to go.
And I was operating from just that level
of social societal conditioning,
like being the person that my parents wanted me to be,
trying to do well in school,
and not really too much thinking for me.
And then I had this mental breakdown,
just lost in life few years,
where I started to question everything
and I started to question, "What do I want in life?
What do I wanna do?
Is this what makes me truly happy?
Do I really want this?"
And once I started asking those questions,
ultimately, like, I started living for myself.
And I think that big launch of living for myself
following my heart and intuition
was when I graduated college,
and I decided not to take a corporate job.
I decided I was going to pursue creativity,
and being an artist
at anything that like I was interested in.
So I pursued music, acting, hosting,
I just said yes to all these random jobs
and creative industries just to explore.
And that was kind of the opening of my heart,
and just being bold to live for myself and not for others.
And it was the first time
I, like, rejected, like, the carved path.
You know, I decided to take a new path.
Living in that way since around age 21,
definitely contributed to my happiness in life.
Because once you start to honor yourself
and live for yourself,
you do what's best for you,
you start to put yourself first,
and then thus begins the journey of self-love,
self-discovery, like figuring out who you are in the world,
what you want in the world,
and ultimately living your life for you.
And when you live in that way,
you just glow, like you're living from your light.
And so honestly, that's like a huge, huge internal shift
that can lead to a huge glow-up.
The second internal shift that I made,
and I already mentioned it,
is I started to cultivate self-love.
And this is a long journey,
because it's not easy to love yourself
when you've spent a lifetime being your own worst critic
and feeling bad about yourself,
feeling insecure, not really knowing how to be confident,
not knowing how to take up space in a room,
how to speak up for yourself.
There were so many things
that I didn't know when I was younger,
and I had to learn it along the way.
But truly like nurturing that relationship with myself,
learning how to, like, express the thoughts in my head
and then become aware of how mean I was to myself,
how hard I was on myself,
and learning to work through that
and build a more positive mental, emotional,
spiritual relationship with myself.
That is what I call the journey of cultivating self-love.
And on that journey,
like the further down you go on that journey,
I believe the more beautiful you become as a person,
because you are giving yourself more and more love.
And when you give yourself love, you're also glowing.
You're also like, I don't know,
just nurturing the best of yourself.
And that is another huge shift
that I believe contributes
to that internal and external glow-up.
Because like I said in the beginning,
if you don't truly love yourself,
you're not going to try to take care of yourself.
You're not gonna believe you deserve to be beautiful,
feel beautiful, to be healthy, to eat good foods,
and to exercise and do all these things
that contribute to that external glow-up.
The third internal shift
that took me a while to really learn and understand
is to learn to forgive.
And this means to truly, actually let go
of your internal grudges, resentment,
any negative emotions that you might have
towards people in your life.
No matter what, the emotions you have,
even though you have like resentment or anger
or frustration towards a person,
they don't necessarily feel it.
You are the one feeling your own emotions, your own energy.
So it's kinda like you want it to affect them,
but in in reality,
it's hurting you more than it's hurting anybody else.
So forgiveness is truly the power,
the superpower that you can use to let yourself go,
to like let go of all that suffering,
to let go of all that pain, that unnecessary emotion
that really doesn't have,
like you don't really have to hold onto.
I know hearing that might be difficult for a lot of people,
and emotions are not easy to let go.
It's like in our bodies.
And it's something that it's not just like,
"Oh, let me just think about letting it go.
It's gone."
No, it takes time, it takes processing,
it takes healing from the traumas, or whatever it is.
But just understand this concept
that forgiveness is your kindness to yourself,
because you are allowing yourself to find peace again,
forgiveness is just letting go of the idea
that the past could be any different,
because you can't change the past, it happened.
The best thing you can do for yourself,
instead of holding onto those negative emotions,
is to accept the past for what happened.
Reframe whatever you can.
Like try to see it from whatever new angles
that can help you feel a little bit more positive about it,
a little bit more at peace about it.
And then just look forward.
Try your best to let it go, look forward.
But it's a process.
So for me at least,
learning to forgive the people who have hurt me in my life
was a process of so much healing.
But learning to truly do that
seriously contributed to a glow-up.
Because girl, you're like letting go of so much baggage,
so much negative energy, a lot of burdens on your shoulder,
it's almost like you become a purer person.
You become a more pure type of energy,
the more you let go of this heavy, dark energy
or emotions that you're holding onto.
And that's why I feel like as I've gotten older,
I've gotten more lighthearted and less serious
and less dramatic.
And I don't know, I just feel so much happier and lighter.
And that shows on the outside
as much as I feel it on the inside.
The next shift is very similar to the previous one,
but it's a big one.
Healing from your emotional wounds and traumas.
So the process of processing your trauma,
healing from it, whether it's through therapy,
like mental talk therapy, journaling,
or whether it's through more spiritual
or holistic methods and modalities,
like, I've tried a lot of things for healing.
Like breath work has been really transformational for me.
Like it's called holotropic breath work
or shamanic breath work.
I have been on that energy healing, I guess, therapy journey
that I've shared with you guys on this channel,
where Wilson and I did two to three years,
I did a little bit longer,
of literally physical in-person energy,
holistic healing therapy sessions.
And I felt like I physically released so much from my body,
so many emotions, so many old memories
just coming up, releasing, crying,
let it go, sobbing, just like body shaking.
I literally had a lot of bodily reactions
letting go of whatever trauma emotions
that I had in me from my childhood.
And so everyone is different,
because everyone probably does not experience
the same things.
Everyone probably doesn't define healing as the same thing,
but whatever it is for you, however you define it,
however you heal and process your life,
it's important to do.
It's so important.
It's similar to forgiveness,
like the more you heal the lighter and brighter you feel,
you literally are just like cleansing.
You're letting go of anything that doesn't serve you.
Anything that's heavy, anything that's not you,
that's not the pure true part of you.
And then the more you heal,
it's kind of like you're letting go of the layers,
you're unraveling the layers,
you're taking off just the layers of heaviness, is all.
It's just the best way I can describe it.
And what you end up with
is just pure essence of your brightest, lightest self,
like, and it's a joy to be your brightest, lightest self.
Like if you think of who you are,
when you are the most joyful and the most carefree,
and the most in flow and the most aligned,
that's like the best feeling,
and that is the type of life that you live
the more that you heal from your traumas,
because you get triggered less,
you just have less things weighing you down.
Highly recommend. (chuckles)
Number five.
Another thing that hugely contributed
to my inner external glow-up is meditation.
Clearly meditation is a huge part of my life,
but I pointed out here
because meditation is one of the best, if not the best way,
to connect with your inner self,
to try to connect with your soul or whatever,
your true self.
And it is just so grounding, so calming.
It's a way to just like detach
from the crazy ongoing thoughts of your brain.
And I really believe the more you meditate,
the more you calm down your nervous system.
And I just feel like
you're regulating your body in a healthy way.
Like you are just feeling at peace, you're feeling safe,
you're tapped in, you're getting intuitive downloads,
and it just, it's so physically good for your body.
I'm sure there's studies and all these bullet point lists
of how meditation can improve your health
and change your life,
like better sleep,
better concentration,
you're gonna be more productive.
And then a lot of internal benefits,
like connection with self,
connection with the divine,
feeling intuitive,
and greater inner peace, greater emotional management,
emotional stability.
I personally also love doing energy cleansing meditations.
I've done a lot of them in my guided meditations.
But meditation's also a way
where you can like cleanse and reset your energy,
and everything is energy.
So if you cleanse your energy,
then you're gonna be bright.
It's as if you have access to like a shower,
an energy shower whenever you want,
so that you can always be
your most brightest, beautiful self.
Number six, I started to prioritize my wellbeing.
This is something that's a little more recent.
I would say in the past four years or so
I really started to prioritize my wellbeing,
meaning put it as like number one priority,
my health, my sleep, my eating, my fitness.
Like making sure that I am taking care of my physical body
as well as my mental health,
and making sure that I am not stressed,
like trying not to be stressed,
trying not to be overwhelmed,
trying not to burn myself out,
really taking care of my wellbeing in all the ways.
I would say in my twenties,
I didn't exactly prioritize wellbeing as number one,
because I was prioritizing work and career.
I was really in kind of a hustle mode,
like I have to make this work sort of mentality.
And so sometimes health gets sacrificed, which can be okay.
You know, you choose and prioritize what matters to you.
But at least now in my thirties,
I have truly started to prioritize wellbeing.
And in fact, I love it.
It's like a passion.
I love learning new things,
new ways where I could take care of myself.
I love skincare, I love gua sha massage,
like stretching, yoga,
like just so many things that I will do
or try and experiment in wellness,
because I just love learning all the ways
that I can take better and better care of myself.
Like I love red light therapy.
I love learning about like traditional Chinese medicine,
like what herbs are for what?
Like how if I'm not sleeping well,
what can I take for insomnia?
What can I drink for skin?
What can I drink for better digestion,
for just everything?
Give me the probiotics.
Like I really care about wellness,
because I want to take the best care of myself
as I possibly can.
And this is something
that has developed more in my later years.
But definitely like prioritizing wellness
has obviously made me glow up,
because I'm focusing on it.
You guys, I, even like with my face,
I will stand there for an hour, or even longer sometimes,
in the bathroom,
massaging, stretching my neck, massaging this,
doing the scalp massages,
just loosening whatever tense muscles I can.
And I truly believe that contributes.
Like, there's so many little things that I will do
to contribute to wellness and glow-ups.
The last one I'll share with you guys today
is how I started to focus on joy, love, and gratitude
every single day in my life.
So this is just about the mindset shift,
and we're utilizing law of attraction, manifesting,
and also neuroscience, right?
So basically, you've heard me talk about this before,
that whatever you focus on grows.
If you wanna manifest something in your life, focus on it.
If you want more good things to come, focus on the good.
Like focus on what you're grateful for.
Focus on the love in your life, the joy in your life.
When you focus on these things,
it invites more of it to come into your life.
So regardless of like how it works,
don't worry about how it works, just focus on it
and make it a daily practice, a daily commitment,
because then life truly becomes more joyful,
more bright, more beautiful,
and it really shifts your perspective,
and thus shifts your entire life.
Like once you start to see,
"Oh my God, my life is so wonderful,
it's so beautiful, it's amazing.
I'm so grateful for this, this, and this.
Oh my gosh, I had so much fun today.
Oh, I was so fully in my joy today
doing this thing I love to do.
Oh, I felt so much love today.
Love from my dog, from my partner,
from my family, from my friends."
The more you live with that perspective,
literally, the more your life is going to feel that way.
And that's why I love,
like, positive affirmations, manifesting.
It's just one of my favorite things,
but it honestly is such a contributing factor
to glowing up internally and externally.
One thing that I always like to remind myself
is life should be joyful and life should feel good.
So I should always make sure
that I am doing or living in a way
that makes me feel good,
that makes me feel joyful.
And it's such a simple concept,
but it applies to everything.
And it can be so life changing
if you truly think that way
and you truly prioritize joy,
prioritize feeling good in your life,
prioritize, like, not sacrificing yourself,
not suffering too much.
So yeah, I really, really believe
that energetic shift makes such a difference.
You just become so magnetic,
you attract so many good things,
you attract opportunities,
and you attract good people in your life too,
who also love and want more of that good energy.
If you want to start living in this way,
focusing more on the joy, the love,
and the gratitude in your life,
I'm actually really excited to remind you
that we have a "Joy Journal" at The Lavendaire Shop.
If you haven't heard of it,
it's basically our super simple, easy,
literally five minute journal that you can do
every single day.
There's a morning section
where it guides you to journal your gratitude
and how you're gonna follow your joy today,
and that in the evening, you just reflect on your day,
what were your wins, what can you celebrate?
What made your day so beautiful and so joyful?
What are you grateful for?
And so it's really simple.
It takes no more than 5 to 10 minutes a day,
but it's a great way
to, like, focus your attention and your energy
on the joy, the love, the beauty, the gratitude.
And so I love it as a tool,
and it's one of our favorite products on the shop.
So you can check that out if you want.
