Wake up all alone 00:04
Mommy daddy's gone, bros all on the side 00:08
Friends are on their own, then I pick up my phone 00:13
Love left me last year 00:17
All alone, that's alright 00:22
That's alright 00:26
All alone, and that's alright 00:30
Well that's alright 00:36
Hello friend, 00:45
It's about time to aligned our perspectives 00:47
My name is Pamungkas, 00:52
born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia 00:54
and I'm gonna to tell you a story now. 00:57
So when I was 18, my family told me that I was half deaf. 01:01
I couldn't hear properly and that's how music came into my life. 01:06
They had to give me a drum lesson because drum is loud 01:10
and as a half deaf kid- 01:14
they thought by playing drums that would gave me a glimpse of how it feels to be normal. 01:17
So if you think about it, me and music, it's meant to be. 01:23
I didn't choose music, 01:27
but music chose me. 01:30
And since then I learn everything about music until it became the only language that I understand. 01:32
I learn how to play the drums and piano and guitar 01:38
and songwriting and songwriting leads me to singing. 01:42
It was interesting because I grew up as a person, yes, 01:45
but I grew up as an artist too, you know. 01:49
And with the music thing going on, 01:53
people would came to me and tell me that I was cool 01:56
and special cause I play music. 01:59
It was nice and I believed it, but- 02:01
I misunderstood what I do as what I am, you know. 02:05
I knew something was wrong with me but 02:12
I didn't know what it was, until 02:15
I get out and tasted the real world. 02:18
I found out that I was just nobody 02:20
and there's no such thing as specials 02:23
because we are all the same. 02:26
And I like that, I like being nobody, 02:27
I like being empty glass because that allows me to learn new things everyday. 02:30
And I wanted to be that- 02:35
I wanted to be that empty glass, but- 02:37
again, the thought of being nobody 02:40
scared me because in my head- that means 02:43
that I'm just gonna let them down 02:44
for not being someone they expect me to be. 02:48
So what was nice- 02:52
is now became a pressure that I have to carry. 02:55
And I didn't know what to do 02:59
so I pretended to be someone that I'm not, because- 03:01
I didn't wanna lose them, I didn't want to be alone, 03:05
I didn't wanna lose their trust, 03:08
but in the other hand, I wanted to be myself too, you know? 03:10
And after years of pretending, I realized that- 03:15
they only wants the best for me 03:20
and what's best for is for me to be myself. 03:22
So I did, I chose to be me 03:24
for the first time in my life, 03:27
I said to myself; I am what I am and that's good enough. 03:29
And when that happens- 03:33
all I wanted to do was just- 03:36
tell the world. 03:39
And because the only language that I understand is music- 03:40
I created the album, I wrote it, I sing it, I produced it, 03:46
I did every bit of it. 03:49
And I put it out 03:50
so then you know that I'm ready to start my journey 03:52
Gotta walk the talk 03:56
and I invite you to do the same. 03:58
Are you in? 04:01
