"Run Avery" is the last line in a book that Avery did not write. 00:00

A few months ago, a YouTube channel called Avery the Mayo 00:07

uploaded a video titled "weird book i did NOT write" 00:11

where he discovers a mine in his Minecraft world that he claims he never built. 00:15

Inside the mine is a chest with a book with various ramblings 00:20

and a message at the end addressed to him. 00:25

But if not Avery, then who wrote this book? 00:28

And how did it get into Avery's world? 00:33

Well just recently, Avery uploaded again. 00:35

A 15-hour video trying to find out why this book exists, 00:38

why was he warned to run away 00:43

and what is behind these gates. 00:45

You see, also just a few months ago a Google Drive folder was discovered 00:51

containing footage of a player named d3rlord3 exploring this exact same world. 00:55

He digs into the wall of the mine and finds a cave full of structures 01:00

that should be impossible to find in any normal Minecraft world. 01:04

Except, he also claims that he didn't build any of this 01:08

and just discovered this world on his computer. 01:12

But when he finally reaches the end of the cave, 01:14

d3rlord3 sees something behind these gates. 01:17

Something that he censored and that drove him into running for his life 01:22

and leaving this one last message to Avery 01:27

before completely disappearing off the face of the internet. 01:30

Since then, we know Avery found d3rlord's laptop in a storage locker 01:33

and has been using it as his daily computer, 01:37

only recently discovering this cave and the book addressed to him. 01:40

But what happened to d3rlord3 after he recorded this footage? 01:43

How did he know who Avery was if Avery doesn't seem to know him? 01:48

And why did he warn Avery to run away? 01:53

Why does this strange world exist? 01:56

And most importantly, what did d3rlord see behind the gates? 01:58

Avery: Hey guys! 02:14

Avery: So, as you probably know, there was a video about my world. 02:15

Avery: Which I saw. 02:19

Avery: I don't know who this d3rlord3 guy is. 02:20

Avery: But if he left me this message, 02:23

Avery: I feel like I owe it to him to at least figure out what happened. 02:25

Avery: As far as I can tell, there's no way to reach him. 02:29

As Avery explores the cave, 02:47

there's no evidence of what could have happened to d3rlord3, 02:49

No messages he left behind. 02:53

But finally, Avery reaches a crossroads at the end of the tunnel. 03:03

And despite the book's warnings, 03:08

he turns left- Oh. 03:11

Right. 03:13

Avery: Just kidding, just kidding! 03:18

And there they are. 03:35

The gates. 03:38

It's just a block of gold? 04:20

Avery: Uh, is that it? 04:25

Avery: It's just a gold block. 04:28

Avery: It's not really that crazy. 04:30

Even Avery seems a little disappointed. 04:32

It looks like we've hit a dead end. 04:34

There is not a single cut in this footage, 04:55

from when Avery goes behind the gates to when he finds himself in this place. 04:58

The footage doesn't cut once, and somehow he's here. 05:03

Apparently, he also got changed into survival mode and can't change back. 05:07

Whatever this is, it shouldn't be possible in any normal Minecraft world. 05:11

But it might bring us one step closer to finding out what happened to d3rlord3. 05:15

If he also went through these gates and ended up here before he disappeared, 05:20

then there might be some clues as to what happened to him. 05:24

And Avery seems to agree, 05:27

because instead of what any normal person would do here, 05:29

he turns left into another gate. 05:32

This is the last time I'll say this, 06:18

but it should not be possible for any of this to happen in a normal Minecraft world. 06:20

How and who built this is completely beyond me. 06:25

But Avery keeps going, 06:29

following the bridges through these giant mountains. 06:31

But it's not over yet. 08:50

As Avery keeps going from mountain to mountain, 08:52

more and more disappear all around him. 08:57

Every second counts, 09:00

and if Avery isn't fast enough he'll fall right into the void. 09:01

As Avery heads over to this massive tree, 10:01

I want to mention something you might have noticed. 10:04

Some of the blocks on the mountains didn't look naturally generated. 10:07

I mean, none of this looks naturally generated. 10:11

but some of these blocks don't look like they're part of the mountains. 10:13

In fact, if we take a look back at d3rlord3's footage 10:17

and inventory before he vanished, 10:20

all of the blocks we can see on the mountains 10:22

line up with blocks that he had in his inventory. 10:23

That likely means that d3rlord3 was here. 10:26

And we now have a concrete trail of breadcrumbs to follow and find him. 10:30

And just as Avery reaches the roots of the tree, 10:34

we can see even more clues. 10:37

I mean, this bridge is obvious, 10:39

but there are also small specks of moss that must have been placed by hand. 10:40

Someone was definitely here. 10:45

And after reaching the bottom, Avery heads into yet another gate. 11:01

And he's back. 11:17

Except now he's one row of doors closer to the end of the hall. 11:19

One row closer to d3rlord3. 11:24

Whatever this place is, disregarding who even made it, 11:27

d3rlord3 is almost definitely somewhere here. 11:30

Behind one of these gates is the answer to what happened to d3rlord 11:33

and the truth of what this place is. 11:37

All Avery has to do is keep looking. 11:40

Avery: There was a trail of blocks, 11:42

Avery: so hopefully following them should lead me to d3rlord. 11:44

Avery: Shouldn't be too hard. 11:47

The light went out. 13:37

It's a small detail, but the light from the house that Avery just explored... 13:42

It's gone. 13:46

That doesn't just happen normally, and it can only mean one thing. 13:46

Something is here. 13:53

( cave noise ) 14:29

Avery exits a little rattled, rightfully so. 16:07

But once again, he's another row of doors closer to the end. 16:09

Another row closer to d3rlord3. 16:13

It was brief, but you may have caught sight of 16:16

a single crafting table when Avery was running up the stairs. 16:18

It doesn't make sense to just be there, 16:21

which again likely means that someone was here before Avery. 16:23

Someone like d3rlord. 16:27

It might be creepy, but we're on the right track. 16:29

We just have to keep watching. 16:32

Avery finds himself in a desert 17:03

with no clear indication of where to go from here. 17:05

In the distance we can see various ruins, 17:08

structures that are far too big to have been built by any passing player. 17:10

Whatever they are, they've been here for a while. 17:15

Somewhere out there, 17:18

there has to be an exit gate that'll get us closer to d3rlord. 17:19

And without any direction, 17:23

Avery heads off blind into the night. 17:26

It's strangely quiet in the desert. 18:18

No sign of anything following Avery. 18:21

He passes ruin, after ruin, after ruin. 18:24

The scenery doesn't seem to change no matter where he goes. 18:27

The dunes are endless in every direction. 18:31

Until finally, Avery sees it. 18:35

An obelisk. 18:42

And as Avery gets closer, 18:58

we can see that it has some strange symbols carved into the base. 19:00

Avery pauses, as if trying to decipher the code 19:04

and the footage stalls. 19:07

But quickly Avery opens chat as if he realized something. 19:24

Avery: Oh, bro is speaking enchanting table. 19:29

Yeah, maybe I gave him a little too much credit. 19:33

Avery decides he can't solve these runes and turns away, 19:36

but quickly spots a crafting table in the distance. 19:39

Another sign that yet again someone was here. 19:42

And over the hill even further, there it is again. 19:45

Another gate. 19:49

Avery goes through... 19:51

...and once more finds himself closer to the end of the hall. 19:55

I'm trying to understand how this all works. 20:01

Remember, we started in Avery's singleplayer world 20:05

which had no business having this massive tunnel in the first place. 20:08

But okay, sure, let's accept that. 20:11

From there, Avery entered the same gate 20:13

we saw d3rlord3 look behind in the original footage. 20:15

But instead of something censored, 20:18

this time all there was was a gold block. 20:20

But when Avery left the gate 20:23

he ended up somewhere completely different. 20:24

A massive hall of doors. 20:27

Each door seems to connect to a different world. 20:29

And scattered around these worlds are blocks 20:32

that we know d3rlord3 had in his inventory. 20:34

Breadcrumbs that tell us we're on the right track 20:37

to finding out what happened to him. 20:39

But there's still 14 hours left of Avery's footage. 20:41

So if we want to figure out what happens we have to keep watching. 20:44

Avery goes from house to house, 21:47

exploring this seemingly much more tranquil world. 21:50

Every one of these worlds has an entrance gate and an exit gate. 21:53

But this red dimension is the first one without an obvious exit. 21:57

And as a result, Avery doesn't know what to do. 22:02

He's kind of just here. 22:04

The only thing he can do is go from house to house 22:06

and try to find any clue about where the exit gate is. 22:10

But there's nothing here. 23:37

Everywhere he looks, it's just dead end after dead end. 23:39

He tries counting the beds in each house, 23:43

going to every last one and taking note. 23:45

Maybe this is the way out. 23:48

But once again, there's no pattern... 23:57

...and Avery gives up. 24:05

Avery: Okay, I'm- I'm done with this. 24:14

Avery: Where are you? I know you're here. 24:18

Avery: I said, where are you! 24:27

Avery: Answer me! 24:35

Avery: Where are you!? 24:40

Avery: Look at me! 24:46

Avery: I am here! 24:49

Avery: You were sooo eager to find me earlier! 24:50

Avery: Come at me! 24:57

Avery: Come to me right now or I'll leave! 25:00

( Avery sighs ) 25:30

Avery: …what am I doing? 25:36

Avery: It's New Year freaking Eve 25:37

Avery: and here I am playing this stupid Minecraft world. 25:39

Avery: ...god, like what am I doing with my life? 25:48

( Avery sighs ) 25:52

Avery: ...I can't do this, d3rlord. 25:54

Avery: I'm- I'm sorry. 25:56

Avery: I- I don't know what you want me to do. 25:57

Avery: I'm not smart like you are. 26:00

Avery: I can't figure this out. 26:02

Avery: How am I supposed to find you? 26:06

Avery: Please, give me a clue. 26:08

But something isn't right. 27:31

Rewinding the footage and looking at this exact spot on the hill, 27:34

there's no crafting table in sight. 27:38

This table appeared later, as if to guide Avery to this exit gate. 27:42

Someone or something must have placed it when Avery wasn't looking. 27:46

If this was d3rlord's doing, 27:50

there's no reason he would hide himself like this 27:52

And this might be the case for every crafting table we've seen thus far. 27:54

So if it isn't d3rlord3 leaving this trail... 27:59

...then who or what is Avery following? 28:02

Avery: I'm coming, d3rlord. 28:11

Avery: Don't you worry. 28:13

The next world that Avery enters looks like a small town. 28:46

It's also pretty calm, 28:49

and like the last one there's no obvious direction of where to go 28:51

nor are there any breadcrumbs that d3rlord might have left behind. 28:54

All Avery can do, once again, is walk around looking for any clues. 28:58

( quick rhythmic pulsing ) 30:45

Out of nowhere, 30:47

the sky goes black and we can hear a noise. 30:48

( quick rhythmic pulsing and wind blowing lowly ) 30:51

It's not about finding the next gate anymore. 30:56

It's about getting out of here without being seen. 30:59

It's closed. 32:41

Avery: What...? 33:43

Avery: What was that? 33:45

Avery: Y- you don't understand. 33:48

Avery: I- I've never felt like that, in my life. 33:50

Avery: Why was I so scared? 33:55

Avery: Why am I so scared? 33:57

Avery: I can't- I can't do this. 34:00

Avery: I'm sorry, d3rlord. I- I just can't do this. 34:05

Avery: Every time I try and do anything, it just doesn't work. 34:10

Avery: I can't solve any puzzles. 34:15

Avery: I can't figure anything out. 34:18

Avery: And now... 34:21

Avery: I'm scared of a game. 34:23

( Avery sighs ) 34:24

Avery: I'm just... not enough. 34:26

Avery: But if not me, then who else? 34:39

Avery: I have to keep going. 34:46

It's clear that whatever is causing Avery to feel this way, 34:55

whatever is filling him with this much fear, 34:59

must want something from him. 35:01

If it left him a false trail of crafting tables 35:04

and essentially coerced him into going deeper into this world, 35:06

it must be leading him somewhere. 35:10

But I don't know what the goal is. 35:12

Why is Avery important? 35:14

And what even is leading him in the first place? 35:16

Not once have we actually seen a monster or an entity. 35:18

We've heard noises and seen blocks get destroyed and placed, 35:22

but never seen something physical actually come after Avery. 35:26

But nonetheless, his reactions are very real. 35:29

He's clearly been terrified on multiple occasions. 35:33

So whatever the thing in this world is... 35:36

...its plan is working. 35:40

And Avery is only getting more and more hopeless. 35:41

Finally, Avery exits the canals and enters a strange walled-in world 37:42

with some structure in the center. 37:47

And for the first time in a while, the exit to this world is obvious. 37:49

The gate that'll take Avery back to the great hall 37:54

and hopefully closer to his goal of finding d3rlord3 37:57

is just on the other side of this courtyard. 38:01

But after a few moments of hesitation, 38:07

Avery turns around and decides to just take a peek into the church. 38:09

Avery ( reading ): You are safe here. 38:57

Avery ( reading ): Rest here. You are safe. 38:59

Avery ( reading ): Take shelter from that which haunts you. 39:03

Avery ( reading ): Nothing can reach you here. 39:06

Avery ( reading ): You are safe. 39:10

Avery ( reading ): It must be such a fearful thing 39:13

Avery ( reading ): to fall into a realm of which you do not belong. 39:17

Avery ( reading ): Worry not, you are safe here. 39:22

Avery ( reading ): Nothing can hurt you. 39:27

Avery exits the book and slowly heads outside the church. 40:46

But he's no longer interested in the gate. 40:50

He collects a few flowers from a patch by the outside wall 40:53

and begins roaming around the courtyard, 40:56

slowly planting flowers at various gravestones, as if in a trance. 40:58

I didn't censor that footage earlier. 41:07

I don't know what it said inside that book. 41:10

but whatever Avery read caused him to slip into some sort of dazed state. 41:12

He continues to walk around planting flowers... 41:17

...moving water in and out of this well... 41:21

...and clearing up the ferns outside the church. 41:33

He then walks... 41:45

...without thought... 41:47

...into this lake... 41:49

...and begins to drown. 41:52

And he repeats this cycle. 42:12

For 12 hours. 42:24

For 12 hours straight, 42:26

Avery walks back and forth along this courtyard 42:28

planting and replanting flowers 42:32

emptying and filling this well 42:35

clearing up more and more 42:37

and more ferns around the church. 42:39

Completely devoid of any emotion, 42:41

any sign of thought, 42:44

anything at all. 42:46

For periods of time, 42:50

sometimes an hour, 42:52

he'll just pause staring at the text 42:53

"You are safe here". 42:56

Avery ( flashback ): I don't know who this d3rlord3 guy is, but... 44:34

Avery ( flashback ): If he left me this message 44:37

Avery ( flashback ): I feel like I owe it to him to- 44:39

Avery ( flashback ): There was a trail of blocks 44:41

Avery ( flashback ): so hopefully following them 44:43

Avery ( flashback ): should lead me to d3rlord. 44:45

Avery ( flashback ): I'm coming, d3rlord. Don't you worry. 44:47

Avery ( flashback ): If not me, then... 44:48

Avery ( flashback ): ...who else? 44:50

Avery ( flashback ): I have to keep going. 44:52

Avery ( crying ): I'm so sorry...! 45:32

Avery ( crying ): I forgot... 45:35

Avery ( crying ): I forgot...! 45:37

Avery ( crying ): I'm sorry... 45:39

Avery ( crying ): I won't forget again...! 45:41

( Avery takes a deep breath ) 45:43

Avery ( crying ): I won't forget. 45:45

But the battle isn't over yet. 46:07

He's one bridge closer to d3rlord3. 46:09

But to get to him, he still has a ways to go. 46:13

As Avery kills this drowned to get food, 48:26

we see something interesting in the water - a pattern. 48:29

And Avery notices it as well. 48:33

It's likely that this pattern 48:35

is actually some sort of door that opens up another room. 48:36

And the button that Avery pressed earlier 48:39

might have something to do with opening it. 48:41

He goes around the pond and on each one of these pillars 48:43

is another button revealing some valuable block, 48:46

and Avery lists all of them out. 48:49

But what to actually do with them isn’t obvious. 48:59

After a bit of thinking, Avery tries simply breaking into the pillars. 49:06

If this is meant to be a riddle or combination lock 49:10

then you can force it open by looking at the wiring. 49:12

But inside of every single pillar... 49:15

...is nothing. It's just a small circuit 49:18

that reveals the valuable block by opening the trap door. 49:20

No connection to any sort of larger redstone circuit. 49:23

Except this pillar with the diamond block. 49:26

Inside it, it has a small tower made of quartz. 49:30

But it doesn't seem to lead anywhere special. 49:32

The puzzle must have something to do with the blocks themselves, 49:34

not with the actual buttons. 49:37

And Avery is once again stuck in figuring it out. 49:39

Avery: Screw this. 50:10

Avery: Screw this puzzle. 50:11

The block that this door is made of is Netherite, 50:50

the hardest breakable block in all of Minecraft. 50:54

Without any tools, it takes 4 minutes and 10 seconds to destroy. 50:57

Very few people would willingly choose to break the Netherite here 51:03

because chances are, solving this puzzle would open the door instantly. 51:07

But Avery is done trying to solve these puzzles how the world wants him to. 51:11

He's going to find d3rlord3 his own way. 51:16

Avery: Stupid puzzle. 52:18

Avery enters into another world, 52:52

a library that seems to extend infinitely in every direction. 52:55

Scattered around it are strange books... 53:04

...but nothing that looks like it was left by d3rlord3. 53:09

Without any direction... 53:23

...Avery keeps going through the library. 53:26

But finally, 53:40

he catches sight of something in the distance. 53:41

Avery ( reading ): Only one step left, 54:07

Avery ( reading ): as there always is. 54:10

Avery ( reading ): Brother wishes to wait. 54:12

d3rlord3: You're not a very hard guy to catch, you know... 54:31

d3rlord3: Avery. 54:34

Avery: It's you. 54:37

d3rlord3: Me. 54:39

Avery: I- I found you. 54:41

d3rlord3: That you did. 54:44

Avery: I found you! 54:47

Avery: I- I was starting to think I'd never find you. 54:48

( d3rlord3 sighs ) 54:50

d3rlord3: What can I say? 54:51

Avery: Uh, are you okay? 54:53

Avery: What happened? 54:55

Avery: Why did you leave all that in my world? 54:57

d3rlord3: Well, I'll be honest. 55:00

d3rlord3: I wasn't in the best state of mind when I left that message. 55:02

Avery: What do you mean? 55:07

d3rlord3: Did you read the book? 55:09

Avery: What book? 55:11

d3rlord3: The book in the lectern right above us. 55:13

Avery: Well, you kind of cut me off. 55:17

d3rlord3: My bad. You should read it. 55:20

Avery: Okay, okay, one sec. 55:22

Avery ( reading ): Only one step left, 55:53

Avery ( reading ): as there always is. 55:56

The author: Brother wishes to wait. 55:58

The author: Something's in the air. 56:01

The author: I do not hear it. 56:04

The author: I hear impatience. 56:06

The author: The wait of the flock. 56:09

The author: They want it. 56:11

d3rlord3: Do you know about hastur? 59:08

Avery: No. Is that the King in Yellow? 59:10

d3rlord3: Okay, there's... 59:15

d3rlord3: ...unfortunately no way I can put this 59:16

d3rlord3: that doesn't sound a little insane. 59:18

d3rlord3: So bear with me. 59:21

d3rlord3: The thing that the book talks about 59:23

d3rlord3: the King, I guess, 59:24

d3rlord3: is something unknowable. 59:28

d3rlord3: It's something that shouldn't be able to exist 59:31

d3rlord3: because it is everything that exists. 59:34

d3rlord3: That's what the book was talking about. 59:37

d3rlord3: That's what was behind the gates. 59:39

d3rlord3: But it's not like anything I could describe. 59:41

d3rlord3: It doesn't have a shape, or at least you don't see a shape. 59:43

d3rlord3: When I looked at it, at least. 59:47

d3rlord3: It floods your mind with knowledge. 59:49

d3rlord3: Knowledge it was never meant to hold. 59:52

d3rlord3: Everything that once was, everything that now is, 59:54

d3rlord3: and everything that will be... 59:57

d3rlord3: ...stuffed into your head. 00:00

d3rlord3: it shows you that everything that you think you know, 00:02

d3rlord3: your whole reality, 00:05

d3rlord3: is a world that doesn't exist. 00:07

d3rlord3: is a tiny, tiny, minuscule part of an unknowable whole. 00:12

d3rlord3: You live in an illusion. 00:17

d3rlord3: and it crams all of that truth 00:19

d3rlord3: into a mind far too small to handle it, instantly. 00:22

d3rlord3: And it hurts like a truck. 00:27

Avery: That was behind the gates? 00:32

d3rlord3: Yeah. 00:36

Avery: So you knew to warn me because- 00:38

d3rlord3: Because I knew you the second I saw it. 00:41

d3rlord3: I knew you would find this place and post a video. 00:44

Avery: Uh, are- are you okay? 00:50

d3rlord3: Something about this place makes it better. 00:52

d3rlord3: God knows how. 00:55

d3rlord3: That's the interesting part. 00:56

d3rlord3: I know nothing about this place. 00:58

d3rlord3: So much about the real world. 01:00

d3rlord3: Well, the "real" world... 01:03

d3rlord3: ...but nothing about here. 01:05

Avery: So, you're okay? 01:09

d3rlord3: Well, I feel like my head's going to explode 01:11

Avery: How long have you been here? 01:20

d3rlord3: Couldn't tell you. 01:23

d3rlord3: After I wrote the book I passed out for a second. 01:24

d3rlord3: but I knew that I would die, or at least not be able to think 01:27

d3rlord3: if I stayed where I was. 01:31

d3rlord3: It's like I could see in my mind 01:32

d3rlord3: all the possible routes I could take. 01:35

d3rlord3: And the only gap in my brain was 01:37

d3rlord3: what would happen if I went back through the gates. 01:39

d3rlord3: So, I uploaded the video and went back. 01:42

d3rlord3: I have no idea how long it's been. 01:45

d3rlord3: I have no sense of time anymore. 01:47

Avery: Well, what do we do now? 01:51

d3rlord3: Well, I'd ask you to leave- 01:53

on a bridge we never saw Avery stand on. 15:26

And the next gate takes him to yet another familiar location. 15:30

And just like Avery, 16:16

he too can't resist the temptation of checking the church. 16:18

Except d3rlord's reaction is different. 17:01

He flips each of the trap doors, noting the block underneath. 18:02

And then he doesn't say anything, thinking. 18:06

Until he makes a pickaxe and tries digging around the door. 18:16

But it's to no avail. There's netherite on all sides. 18:21

He gives up on digging and tries breaking into each one of the pillars. 18:25

But it's the same thing we've already seen: 18:29

d3rlord lets the zombie out and goes inside. 18:56

This is the only pillar with diamond, but it's not even the only unique block. 19:02

"Run Avery" é a última linha de um livro que Avery não escreveu.

onde ele descobre uma mina em seu mundo Minecraft que ele afirma nunca ter construído.

Mas se não for Avery, então quem escreveu este livro?

E como isso entrou no mundo de Avery?

Bem, recentemente, Avery carregou novamente.

Um vídeo de 15 horas tentando descobrir por que este livro existe,

por que ele foi avisado para fugir

e o que há por trás desses portões.

Veja, também há apenas alguns meses foi descoberta uma pasta do Google Drive

contendo imagens de um jogador chamado d3rlord3 explorando exatamente esse mesmo mundo.

Ele cava na parede da mina e encontra uma caverna cheia de estruturas

que deveriam ser impossíveis para encontrar em qualquer mundo normal do Minecraft.

Exceto que ele também afirma que ele não construiu nada disso

e acabou de descobrir este mundo em seu computador.

Mas quando ele finalmente chega no final da caverna,

d3rlord3 vê algo atrás desses portões.

Algo que ele censurou e isso o levou a fugir para salvar sua vida

e a deixar esta última mensagem para Avery

antes de desaparecer completamente fora da face da internet.

Desde então, sabemos que Avery encontrou O laptop de d3rlord em um armário de armazenamento
