Hey guys! 00:05
Welcome back to Lavendaire. 00:06
Today I want to share life advice that everyone needs to hear. 00:07
This was originally tailored to recent college grads because it is graduation season 00:11
and it's a time where everyone's figuring out their lives and starting a new career, a new path. 00:16
But I feel like this advice applies to everyone, so I'm just gonna open it up for everyone. 00:21
The first piece of life advice is: Take your biggest risks while you're young. 00:27
This was advice given to me by my business professors in college 00:33
and it really stuck with me to take your biggest risks while you're young. 00:37
You want to take risks while you're young because when you're young, 00:42
you have nothing to lose or very little to lose, especially if you're a recent graduate. 00:45
You don't really have that much responsibility, that many burdens in your life. 00:50
The older you get, the more responsibilities, obligations, 00:55
and those kinds of things pile on to make it harder for you to take risks. 00:59
It's harder to take risks when you have a child or a mortgage. 01:04
As you get older, those responsibilities pile on. 01:07
So while you're still young, take your biggest risks now. 01:10
And the fun part of that is: 01:15
You are the youngest that you will ever be, right now, in this moment. 01:17
It's kind of scary to think of it that way, but it's true! 01:22
In the next minute, you're one minute older. 01:25
And in five minutes, you're five minutes older. 01:26
Time is the one thing that you cannot rewind and you cannot get more of. 01:29
So take your biggest risks now. 01:33
Another note on taking risks and why it's important to take risks is: 01:36
When you take a risk, you give yourself an option of a greater reward. 01:40
The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward. 01:44
But the bigger the risk, the bigger the chance for failure as well. 01:47
When you take a risk, that's what makes it so scary and exciting. 01:50
It can go well or it can not go so well. 01:53
But while you're young, you have less to lose and so it's okay to fail a few times. 01:56
Failure isn't bad. 02:03
You actually do want to fail, so take your risks, fail, learn from them, 02:04
and the more courageous you are to take those risks, 02:09
the more abundance and reward you're going to find in your life 02:11
because some of those risks might work out, 02:15
and it might take you to somewhere amazing 02:18
that you can never have gone if you just decided to play it safe. 02:21
So at this point, you may be thinking, 02:25
"Okay, I get it. 02:26
I should take some risks while I'm young, but what risks do I take? 02:27
How do I know what's right for me?" 02:32
So this brings me to #2. 02:34
The second lesson is: Get to know your inner voice. 02:37
Get to know your intuition, what it's saying, your heart, your guiding light. 02:41
However you want to refer to it, it is that voice inside of yourself 02:46
that knows what you honestly, truly want. 02:49
And for others, you might have to work on getting to know that inner voice 02:53
and being able to distinguish when it's "you", that inner voice 02:57
or whether it's the voice of your parents, society, or peers or someone else's opinion, 03:01
because the point of life is to live for yourself and to create the life that you want for yourself. 03:07
But in order to figure out what that is, you have to really get to know yourself, 03:14
get to know your intuition, journal – journaling is my favorite way to talk to that inner voice 03:18
and let it come out so that I know what I'm truly thinking and feeling, 03:24
because if you don't take the time to get to know yourself, 03:28
you're going to think that you want something that you don't actually want 03:31
just because maybe someone else has it or someone else told you that that was a good thing to want. 03:36
For example: You might find that the dreams that you had your entire life 03:42
are actually just the dreams of your parents, that they drilled into your head, 03:45
and what you truly want is something else, and that's a realization of, 03:50
"Oh, I think I have this inner voice in me that's guiding me in a different direction." 03:55
And if you feel that, then definitely listen to that voice. 04:00
The point of life is to continue to live aligned to that voice. 04:04
The third piece of advice is to be proactive, not passive. 04:08
You cannot just sit there and expect things to come your way. 04:13
You cannot just sit there and expect things to change for you in your life. 04:17
Life is not magic. 04:23
You actually have to be proactive, take action, 04:24
make choices that take you to where you want to go. 04:27
There's that once quote that says something along the lines of, 04:31
"If you don't know where you're going, you're going to end up somewhere else," 04:35
because that's how life is. 04:39
If you have no idea of what you want and you just sit there and go with the flow, 04:41
live your day-to-day life, then you're just going to end up somewhere random. 04:47
And to me, that's a waste of time because first you gotta figure out what you want 04:51
and then you gotta be proactive, take action, talk to people, 04:55
do whatever it takes to make your life happen for you, 05:00
because nobody's going to hand you anything. 05:03
You have to really go out and get it. 05:06
This was a lesson that I also learned in one of my internships, just to have a proactive work ethic. 05:08
If you're in a job situation and nobody's giving you instructions on what to do, 05:14
instead of just sitting there and waiting for instructions, 05:19
you use your brain to think for other people, 05:23
"Okay, what needs to be done? How can I help this person? 05:26
How can I be of value to this workplace or this community or this group?" 05:29
if you're in a group project or something. 05:35
All you really need to do is put more thought into it, ask yourself: 05:37
"How can I be more proactive in this situation, 05:40
rather than just sitting and waiting for things to happen?" 05:43
Alright, moving onto the fourth lesson: Always be stretching your comfort zone. 05:46
Most of us, naturally, like to stay in our comfort zone 05:52
because it's safe, it's easy, we're used to it. 05:55
But the hard truth in life that I had to learn and realize is: 05:58
If you're not growing, you're shrinking. 06:04
If you're not progressing, you're backtracking and that is the sad truth, 06:07
because you think that you can just stay the same and you can coast, but that's not true. 06:13
You can never stay the same. 06:17
You cannot just be constant because the only constant in life is change, right? 06:19
So you're either moving forward or you're moving backwards, 06:24
and if you're not pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, 06:27
then you're shrinking your comfort zone 06:30
and I've definitely experienced the shrinking of your comfort zone. 06:33
For example: in college and high school, I was used to seeing a lot of people, 06:36
going out, social events, and that was pretty normal for me. 06:41
But outside of school and everything, I don't get to see people as much 06:45
because I work from home so I have little social interaction. 06:49
So if I haven't seen people for a while and I go out, 06:53
there's a little bit of that "Ugh…", that social anxiety, 06:58
that "Oh my god, it's so uncomfortable. Do I even want to go to this event I'm invited to?" 07:01
You feel that your comfort zone has shrunk. 07:07
But, for example, if you're consistently going out weekly 07:10
and you're seeing people on the daily, it's not a big deal to see people. 07:13
So that's an example of your comfort zone shrinking. 07:17
Another metaphor and example is your health, your fitness. 07:21
Growing your muscles is like stretching your comfort zone. 07:25
When you're doing workouts that push you, that are painful and really tough, 07:29
where you feel like you're going to die, 07:34
then that's a good thing because you're growing. 07:36
Yesterday, I did this really, really tough megaformer pilates class and I felt like I was going to die. 07:40
I was in that mode where I'm cheating and giving up but just still pushing myself on. 07:46
And then today I did another workout class, I did yoga where I just felt so strong, 07:52
and I know it's because I went through that thing yesterday that made me stronger today. 07:58
And if didn't put in the work to work on myself and push those boundaries, 08:03
then I wouldn't have been as strong as I am now. 08:08
I hope that makes sense. 08:11
You gotta push yourself and it's never going to be easy. 08:12
It's not comfortable, obviously, to stretch your comfort zone. 08:15
But if you're not growing, you're shrinking. 08:20
So it's your choice, what do you want to do? 08:23
Forwards, backwards. 08:26
That's the harsh truth of reality, that you just gotta keep pushing forward 08:29
and keep stretching and growing in all areas of your life. 08:34
The last piece of advice that I want to share today is: Invest in yourself, 08:37
especially if you're young, if you're a recent grad. 08:41
Time is your greatest asset, because when you're young, you have so much time, 08:45
so much life left to live, that you can use that time to read books, pick up new skills, 08:50
new hobbies, new life experiences, sign up for an online course, whether it's free or paid. 08:57
Really just keep learning outside of school because all of that is going to help you in your life 09:04
and you're just going to be a more well-rounded, knowledgeable, intelligent, smart person. 09:10
I never regret buying books. 09:15
I never regret investing in courses or anything that invests in myself. 09:17
If you want to be a content creator, invest in a good camera, invest in tools and resources 09:23
that can help you in your career, in your life, or better you as a person. 09:30
If you've been really wanting to get fit, invest in a gym membership 09:36
or a yoga membership to your favorite studio. 09:40
Those are investments that I would not regret making because they're there to benefit yourself. 09:43
There's a way to spend money to simply consume, and there's a way to spend money to invest in yourself. 09:51
Consuming would be spending money on food or clothes or things that are temporary and fleeting 09:57
that you're going to forget about, that won't make a lasting impact on your life. 10:02
Whereas investing is a way for you to spend money on things that will help you in the long-term, 10:06
that will make a lasting impact and change you as a person for the better. 10:13
Of course, there's that grey area in between. 10:18
I guess some food can change your life for the better 10:21
or some items of clothing can be investment pieces. 10:24
I mean, there's a lot of grey area. 10:27
But what I'm trying to say is: Don't be cheap with yourself. 10:29
You can be cheap in other areas of life, 10:33
like maybe you're shopping for groceries or clothes or whatever. 10:36
But with yourself, your life, and your future, invest in yourself. 10:39
Do what you can to give yourself the best chance at life because you are your greatest asset 10:44
and you're going to be living with you for the rest of your life, 10:51
so you might as well invest in the things that help you. 10:54
Speaking of investing in yourself, 10:57
I am super excited to share with you the new online course that I created. 10:59
It is my first online course and it's called "Create Your Dream Life with Lavendaire". 11:03
What it is, is a six-week program of videos and worksheets to lead you through 11:09
creating your dream life, step by step, from discovering yourself, 11:14
figuring out what you're meant to do, to designing your dream life, 11:18
how to put it into action and actually make that dream life a reality, 11:21
and also how to overcome your fears, remove limiting blocks 11:26
or anything that might be holding you back. 11:29
This course is essentially a compilation of everything I learned about how to create your dream life, 11:31
how to make your dreams a reality, into the most structured and organized format that I can ever create. 11:37
And it's essentially what I wanted when I was 21 and lost in life, had no idea what I wanted to do. 11:44
So I want to say that this course is great for recent grads, but you don't have to be a recent grad. 11:50
It is for anyone who is lost in their life, who is not sure of what they're meant to, 11:56
who needs some guidance on figuring out their way, 12:01
and maybe some guidance on breaking through any blocks 12:04
that might have been holding them back, because usually it is yourself. 12:07
It is your mindset that is holding you back from actually achieving your goals and making your dreams real. 12:10
There's so much unpeeling of the layers that we're going to do in this course 12:17
and I'm really excited to have something so structured and organized to take you guys through it. 12:21
There's also going to be two bonus workshops, one on law of attraction and manifesting, 12:27
and another one on healing past wounds, and that one I'm really excited for 12:31
because I've never shared any of that on my YouTube channel 12:35
and that one's really deep, really personal and really effective and powerful, so that one I'm excited for. 12:39
We're also going to have a Facebook community, 12:45
so you'll have support and accountability throughout the program. 12:47
And I'll be doing three live Q&A video chat sessions in that Facebook group 12:50
so if you want live one-on-one action with me, if you want personal interaction with me, 12:56
then join during the live run which is during June and July. 13:01
So join now - the course will go from June 15th to the end of July 13:05
and those are the months that I'll be super active and doing the live Q&As in the group. 13:09
If you've done the Dream Life Series on my channel, 13:13
you might be wondering how is this similar or different from that. 13:15
The Dream Life Series, I would say, is the beginner version of this course, 13:19
and the course is the advanced version because the course has more content, 13:23
more topics, more worksheets. 13:29
It'll go more in depth and detail than what I did with the Dream Life Series. 13:31
I'd say the Dream Life Series covers the surface level of these topics 13:35
and the Create Your Dream Life course dives way deep into each topic 13:38
in more detail and there's more inner work for you to do. 13:43
And also, since I've created the Dream Life Series – it's been a year, 13:46
so I've learned so much in the past year 13:50
that I'll be adding new lessons and insights into the course. 13:53
It's going to be the most comprehensive, structured, step-by-step program 13:57
that I can possibly create to handhold you through creating your dream life. 14:00
And I'm confident that, if you are in a place where you're lost and frustrated in life, 14:06
that you will come out of it with so much more clarity 14:12
and a plan for what you want to do, 14:15
how to do it, and you'll even have gone through those exercises 14:18
to lift those fears away, lift those limiting blocks away. 14:22
And I'm just super excited to have you guys go through the course 14:25
and see the changes that you guys make in your lives. 14:29
So please, if you want to learn more, click that link down below. 14:32
We're doing an early bird pricing, so for the first week, the pricing will be lower. 14:35
And I think after June 9th, the price will go up to its regular price. 14:41
Also, since this is my first time launching an online course, 14:46
I wanted to do something special for you guys. 14:48
So I've decided to give out 10 free scholarships to the Create Your Dream Life course. 14:50
So if you win a scholarship, you get to go through the entire course and program for free. 14:56
You get to join the group, you get everything that's included in Create Your Dream Life. 15:01
To enter to win a scholarship, find this photo that I posted on Instagram, 15:05
comment with why you want to take the course, tag two friends, 15:09
and make sure you're followed to Lavendaire on Instagram. 15:12
And we'll be choosing 10 scholarship winners on June 12th. 15:15
The course officially begins June 15th, so you'll find out, 15:19
a couple days before the course starts, if you have a scholarship. 15:22
Alright, I'll leave it at that. 15:25
If you want to learn more about the course and read what's in each module, 15:26
just click that link down below and make sure that you don't wait until early bird pricing is over 15:29
because it's over June 9th, so sign up before then. 15:34
Alright, love you guys so much. 15:38
Bye! 15:40
