I am so happy.
Our first guest is here
for my birthday show.
He's always been one of
our favorites around here.
He's been here many--
I think this is his 27th time.
Take a look at this.
Here to make his daytime
television debut,
please welcome the
adorable Justin Bieber.
[MUSIC - JUSTIN BIEBER, "ONE
TIME"]
Let me tell you time.
I'mma tell you one time.
And I'mma be your one guy.
[SCREAMING]
I'mma tell you one time.
I'm on my way to
go surprise Paige.
She says she's my biggest fan.
Here we go, Ellen.
His songs are very motivational.
[KNOCKING]
Is that my mother again?
Hey.
How are you?
Here you go.
These are for you.
You're kidding.
No, I'm not kidding.
Oh, my God!
I love you!
Is it too late now to say sorry?
'Cause I'm missing more
than just your body.
Oh, oh, oh.
Follow my finger, not
your head, just your eyes.
Just your eyes, not your head.
Go faster.
Go real fast.
So your not taking
this seriously.
Oh, my God.
Sorry.
I have one more
surprise for you.
Oh, that's right.
Justin's going to
be in Michigan.
We're actually going to
give $1 for every ticket
to your school.
Please welcome Justin Bieber.
[MUSIC - JUSTIN BIEBER, "YUMMY"]
Yeah,
I know that I let you down.
Is it too late to
say I'm sorry now?
I'm sorry.
Please welcome my
friend Justin Bieber.
Yeah, you got that yummy,
yum, that yummy yum,
that yummy yummy.
Yeah, you got that yummy
yum, that yummy yum,
that yummy yummy.
Say the word, on my way.
Yeah babe, yeah babe, yeah
babe, any night, any day.
Say the word, on my way.
Yeah babe, yeah babe, yeah
babe, in the morning or late,
say the word, on my way.
Well, aren't these beautiful.
Thank you so much, my friend.
This is your 27th time.
And this is your second time
for my birthday show, which is
so lovely for you to be here.
It's awesome.
Do you remember, did you see
that montage we just showed?
I did.
Yeah, I was right there.
Do you remember all of those?
I do, yeah.
They were all so different.
It was in all different
places and times in my life,
different places in my life.
I kind of grew up on your show,
now that I think about it.
Yes.
You owe me a lot.
I do.
No, I know what you mean.
No, you don't.
But if you want, you know,
a little cut, I'll take it.
Do you have a favorite
memory of anything
that you did on the show?
I just love the fact that
what you do so brilliantly
is you create such an
amazing atmosphere for me
to feel like I can be myself.
And I just-- I really
appreciate that.
Also, I love doing all of
the pranks and whatnot.
All of those are fun as well.
Moments like that to just be
silly and just, like I said,
be myself, that is a
big part of who I am.
I'm just a silly person.
And you've always
accepted me for me.
And that's an amazing quality.
So thank you so much.
It's true.
And I love you for
who you are also
because really, you
came on the show
when you were first discovered.
And I love the
documentary so much.
And it really explains to
people what you went through
and why you needed
to take a break.
Yeah.
Are you happy with it?
I am really happy with it.
Yeah, thank you for asking.
Yeah, it's really good.
And they talk about how your
dopamine levels, like, what
that does to a person's brain
at such a young age or any age.
When you're surrounded by that
kind of noise and excitement
for so long, did you
realize that that
was, looking back on it,
what it was doing to you?
I was 15 when I really
started touring.
And with that being
said, you're on tour--
the depletion of dopamine.
And the best way for me
to describe it is I'm
going out there every night.
And I'm giving, giving,
giving, giving, giving.
And I don't understand
how to give myself
the proper nutrients I need
back and all that sort of stuff,
because I'm a kid.
And I'm doing all
the rest of the stuff
too, growing up and
experimenting with drugs
and doing all that
sort of stuff.
So I just didn't realize
the craziness that--
the toll that my
body would take.
So yeah.
It was a lot.
It was a lot, yeah.
And I'm so glad you're back
because you took a break.
Thank you.
And this makes me so happy
that you're singing again.
You're writing again.
The songs are great.
Thank you.
There's a guitar back there.
I don't know if
you noticed that.
Yeah.
I brought you flowers.
But I also really wanted to
sing you a little something.
Well, OK.
You sure?
OK.
You don't have to beg me.
So as you guys know, I
have a song called "Yummy."
[CHEERING]
So I tuned my guitar backstage.
And now it's higher.
So I've got to figure
out whether I can still
hit these notes.
(SINGING) Yeah, yeah,
you got that yummy yum,
that yummy yum,
that yummy yummy.
Yeah, you got that yummy yum,
that yummy yum, that yummy yum.
Say the word, on my way.
Yeah babe, yeah babe, yeah
babe, any night, any day,
say the word, on my way.
Yeah babe, yeah babe, yeah
babe, in the morning or late.
I think it's her birthday too.
Shall we sing her
happy birthday?
[CHEERING]
We need everybody in this
room to sing with me.
Do you think you
guys can do that?
Yes!
[CHEERING]
Ready?
(SINGING) Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday dear Ellen.
Happy birthday to you.
Great job.
Great job.
Great job.
Thank you, everybody.
That's a little sneak peek.
More with Justin after this.
We'll take a break.
