So this time, while editing the Fukuoka VLOG...

I actually recorded this...

the behind-the-scenes of editing.

So today...

including where to find BGM,

color-grading methods,

how to add subtitles,

and a bunch of little tips, etc.

Now let's rewind to the first day of editing the Fukuoka vlog.

This is the first card.

It shot 203 clips.

Most of the footage

should be in here.

The first step of video editing

is organizing the massive amount of raw material.

Because I always shoot a lot

and there’s a lot of junk footage.

So I have to filter it first.

All the clips

add up to 50 GB.

It's already 8:40 am.

I spent that much time just organizing.

Now we’re at June 15.

I don’t know why

the past ten days

didn’t move this project forward.

Anyway, on this day

I needed to do a rough cut.

Basically trimming the beginning and end

or pulling out the parts I think are watchable.

The third step

is dealing with the audio.

Because of copyright concerns,

I use Artlist,

a paid music library.

A yearly subscription costs $199

— not cheap.

But for me it’s an investment,

so the money’s well spent.

You can also get extra time

by referring friends

and both of you receive

two additional months of access.

There are plenty of other paid music services

like Epidemic Sound.

I’ve tried them, but I prefer Artlist’s tracks.

When I see a certain type of shot,

I’ll add a small bell sound.

A softer chime for a far‑shot

and a brighter one for a close‑up.

It’s 6:34 am.

Today I’m going to see Aimer’s concert.

I have a gym class this morning,

and I’m meeting a friend for lunch later.

So I plan to record my voice‑over early

and I usually write the script in advance

so the recording goes faster.

This bakery has a lovely little rooftop.

Today is June 17.

I plan to publish it today,

so I still need to add some text

and do the color grading.

The color grading you want to see,

plus an eye‑catching intro,

tiny detail tweaks,

add subtitles, and it’s ready to post.

I still have to make a thumbnail

and write a caption;

there’s a lot on my mind.

I hope to finish everything before 2 pm today.

Not sure if that’s possible.

It’s noon now,

two hours left.

After the first day of editing,

I already have seven minutes of footage.

That feels about right,

so I’ll pause here

or else the upload will be delayed forever.

There’s still a huge chunk

I haven’t touched yet.

I’ll probably slot this into the next episode

as part 2.

Now we’re at the

“highly anticipated” (not really) color‑grading stage.

First I put on a helmet

because I’m definitely not a professional.

I’m just going by feel.

If I get it wrong,

don’t diss me, okay? haha.

My first step in grading

is applying a LUT to the whole clip

to unify the overall tone.

I’m not keeping the LUT secret;

I’ve shared it before

but it kept getting taken down.

The LUT itself doesn’t affect much

because I set its opacity very low

each time.

So it barely changes the overall look.

沒有起到太大的作用

Next, I fine‑tune each segment

我就會對每一個片段進行微調

adjusting brightness, contrast, etc.

These basic parameters

and the big color changes

come from adjusting the color wheel.

For a Japanese‑style palette

I push a bit toward blue and green,

giving it that Hamada Ei’mei vibe.

就很有濱田英明的那種感覺吧

Besides the wheel,

I also tweak the HSL.

I use it a lot for skin tones and isolated colors.

會去做一些膚色、單獨色塊的調整

In fact, there’s an even easier way

to brighten skin—just use the built‑in “beautify” feature.

I find it super handy.

I usually give each video a slight beautify.

Haha, yep.

我基本都會稍微美顏一下

哈哈哈是的

So that’s pretty much it;

the video is basically done.

Now add the text overlays.

I like to do a bit of layout

to make it look more aesthetic.

讓整個看上去更加有美感一些

As for subtitles,

they have auto‑recognition,

so I just make a few minor tweaks.

再做一些細微的修正

That’s it.

I normally use handwritten fonts

or ready‑made typefaces

to design a title layout,

come up with a catchy headline,

and fill in the info box.

Then I’m ready to upload.

That’s basically

my entire video‑editing workflow.

So you now know why my uploads are slow.

What’s next?

I think they’re quite privacy‑conscious,

so I always blur strangers

It’s about protecting other people’s privacy

— they probably don’t want to be filmed.

Thus I spend a good amount of time

blurring passersby,

or I try not to capture their faces in the first place.

I’m a lazy person;

unless it’s a commercial shoot with a script,

I just film a travel vlog in one go,

then back at home I organize the timeline

and shape the story.

That’s about it—good enough to use.

Honestly, I’m not that picky.

真的沒有太講究哎

When recording video,

I think a wide‑angle lens is a must for selfies

不然會顯得很胖

or you’ll look chubby.

I also prefer a large aperture.

So I recommend the Sony 24‑50 mm f/2.8 zoom,

which I really love;

it covers all my video needs.

基本上錄視頻的所有需要吧

For a tripod,

I use Ulanzi’s “Octopus”,

or something lighter like Sony’s Bluetooth remote.

就用索尼藍牙手柄

People have asked if I shoot in S‑Log;

是不是用slog拍的

I don’t.

Because it’s a hassle to grade back.

One setting I always tweak is frame rate,

我會特別設置的就是這個幀率

I set it to 60 p

so I can slow motion in post,

or smooth out shaky clips.

或者是把比較抖動的畫面放慢

It’s a bit of work;

I usually shoot with a tripod.

Most of the footage you see is already trimmed.

其實我都是掐頭去尾了

When I’m on set I pick an angle,

一般會設定好一個角度

walk there,

pretend it’s artistic and atmospheric,

but the behind‑the‑scenes shots

are just random—no care for composition.

Just point and shoot.

就是隨便拍

Then in editing, the more angles you have,

那個角度拍一下

這樣後期剪起來的話

你有幾個角度給它串在一起

the more variety you get.

That’s a little tip.

Because I like Japanese‑style aesthetics,

I often go on YouTube

to find creators like AUXOUT

— I’m not sure how to pronounce it—

像我很喜歡的有AUXOUT

我不知道是不是這麼念

His color grading is gorgeous,

and I’ve taken inspiration from him,

adding some soft‑black filters

to get a dreamy feel.

That’s a tip I learned from him.

Once I was grading footage while wearing my blue‑light glasses.

也是帶了我這個

Those glasses have slightly yellow lenses,

因為藍光眼鏡

so the colors looked off.

那麼所以調色的時候是有色差的

When I took them off,

the colors looked bizarre,

and then I realized

the whole grading was done with the glasses on.

去做的這個調色

If you wear blue‑light glasses,

don’t use them while color‑grading your video,

or else everything will look messed up.

就會整個很崩～潰～

那影片剪輯的第一步呢

就是我頭大的素材整理

因為我每次真的會拍很多

也有很多廢片

所以就要先篩選一遍

所有的素材都

導進去之後是50個G

現在已經8:40了

花了這麼多時間就整理素材

那時間來到6月15號

我也不知道為什麼

過去的十天

都沒有推進這個項目

不過總之這一天呢

就是要進行一個粗剪

基本上就是掐頭去尾

或者說把影片中一些

我覺得能看的片段剪輯出來

那第三步呢

就來到音頻的環節

那出於版權的考慮呢

我自己用的是Artlist的

這個付費的音樂網站

那它一年的訂閱費是199美金

就不便宜

但是對我來說這是個投資

所以這錢也花下去了

不知道可不可以

因為我這個第一天剪完

發現已經有7分鐘了

我覺得差不多了

就可以先在這裡停一下

不然就會又要拖更很久

我都沒有動誒

哎這個我可能後面放在一起吧

那終於進行到

這個“萬眾期待”（不是）的調色環節

那我先戴一個頭盔

因為我真的不是專業的

所以就是完全靠心情去調色

所以如果我說錯了的話

大家也不要diss我哈哈

那我的調色第一步呢

一般是給全片都套用一個lut

去統一整個色調

那這個lut呢

不是我不想分享

因為我之前也有分享過

但一直被和諧

不過lut影響因素並不大

因為我每次lut的透明度

都調的非常低

就它對整個影片的調色

沒有起到太大的作用

那接下來呢

我就會對每一個片段進行微調

比如亮度、對比度等

這樣的基礎參數

還有對色彩影響比較大的

就是色輪的調整

那像日系的色調的話

我基本上會往藍色、綠色

那邊去拉一點

就很有濱田英明的那種感覺吧

那除了色輪呢

我還會調整這個HSL

那我比較常用它呢

會去做一些膚色、單獨色塊的調整

當然調整膚色的話

其實還有更簡單的

就是用它這個美顏功能

我覺得真的很好用

就是每一條視頻的話

我基本都會稍微美顏一下

哈哈哈是的

那基本上到這裡

影片就處理的差不多了

然後就是加花字

那我自己呢

會做一些小的排版

讓整個看上去更加有美感一些

那字幕呢

它也是有自動識別的

所以基本上只要

再做一些細微的修正

就可以了

我一般是會用手寫字體

或者說用現成的字體

去做一個標題的排版

再想一個吸引人的標題

還有資訊欄的一些信息

給它寫好就可以上傳了

基本上這就是

我影片剪輯的全部流程了

所以每次出片很慢的原因

那接下來呢

嗯我覺得他們的話

是對隱私意識比較強的

所以基本上

我後期都會給路人打馬賽克

因為這個我覺得也是

保護他人隱私吧

就可能人家也不想被拍到

所以基本上我每一條影片

都會花蠻長的時間

再給路人打馬賽克

或者說我前期拍的時候

我就盡量的不去拍到路人的臉

就是我是那種很懶的人

除非是商業合作的話我會寫腳本

不然拍這種旅拍我就是一通拍

然後回來的時候

我再會去根據時間線

梳理一下整個故事邏輯

我到時候截圖放在這裡吧

差不多吧還行能用～

就會有比較朦朧的感覺
