NARRATOR: Well, hello there.

It's time to set sail into the story of a girl who followed

her heart to face the unknown and became

who she was meant to be.

Meet Moana.

Moana grew up on the beautiful island

of Motunui, surrounded by friends, family, and community.

As the chief's daughter, Moana was

raised to care for the people of her village,

and one day lead them.

Moana adored her island home and wished

she could fulfill her role, but the ocean was calling her name.

When a mysterious darkness threatened her island home,

Moana set off on a brave voyage as the first of her people

in generations to sail beyond the reef,

in order to find and return the stolen heart of Te Fiti.

But Moana wasn't alone on her epic adventure.

That's Heihei, and he's never far behind.

And she met a shapeshifting demigod named Maui.

It wasn't easy to convince Maui to help return the stolen heart,

but Moana refused to take no for an answer.

Eventually, the stubborn shapeshifter agreed to help.

With every step on her journey, Moana discovered

something about herself.

She's a strong leader.

Moana has sailed the open ocean, battled coconut-clad pirates,

and escaped the clutches of a giant crab,

all to save her island.

When things get tough, she finds courage in her heart

and never gives up.

Moana proves that anything can be

accomplished with the power of friendship,

determination, and compassion.

She not only protects the island of Motunui,

Moana also reminds her people who they truly are--

voyagers and wayfinders.

When you're friends with Moana, there's

no telling how far you'll go.
