I'm craving something salty and sour. 00:00
I'm craving something sweet and 00:02
chocolatey. 00:04
I want to eat cotton balls. Not the 00:04
small ones, but the real big ones. 00:06
This is a hot dog as a sandwich. 00:08
Ketchup is a smoothie. 00:11
Yeah, I put ice in my cereal. So what? 00:12
That makes no sense. 00:14
A hot dog is a sandwich. 00:15
A hot dog is a sandwich. 00:16
What? 00:19
Welcome to our podcast, A Hot Dog is a 00:21
Sandwich, the show we break down the 00:23
world's biggest food debates. I'm your 00:24
host, Josh Sher. 00:26
And I'm your host, Nicole Initi. And 00:26
today we have a very special guest 00:28
joining us for the pod. Today's guest is 00:30
one of the funniest people on the 00:31
internet, a sketch comedy powerhouse, 00:32
array of chaotic sunshine, and she is 00:34
hella pregnant. Please welcome the one 00:37
and only Smoses Amanda Lehan Kento. 00:39
Wow. 00:42
That was such a good intro. 00:43
Nicole wrote it. I just yelled at you. 00:45
Oh my god, Nicole, you did so well. 00:46
Thank you so much, Josh. 00:49
Thanks. 00:50
I do want to eat cotton balls. That's 00:52
about my only addition to this. 00:53
I would not want to eat cotton balls. I 00:54
don't want anything dry right now. Me 00:56
either. Me either. 00:57
I want like cold and like wet. It either 00:58
has to be cold and wet or hot and wet at 01:00
the same time. Nothing room temp. 01:04
No thank you. 01:06
No. No room no room temp here. No. 01:07
So today I I don't know listeners if you 01:08
don't know. I'm pregnant. Amanda's 01:11
pregnant. Josh not pregnant. Megie not 01:13
pregnant. 01:15
I have sympathy. I have sympathy 01:16
cravings right now though for both of 01:17
you. So you're welcome. My Eminem path. 01:19
It 01:22
I thought you said Eminem. That's where 01:23
my brain is at. 01:25
He said that too. 01:26
I was like Eminem. 01:27
I was like talking Eminem bath. I'm like 01:28
Eminem. 01:31
What are you talking about? 01:32
So today you Josh are going to be 01:34
actually all of us are going to be 01:36
trying Amanda's pregnancy cravings as 01:38
well as mine. And because you're in 01:40
charge here, you're going to deter 01:42
I think I should take a step back for 01:44
this one. Like if you really I don't 01:45
know that I need to insert myself in 01:46
here. 01:48
I want you to be a part of this. I want 01:48
you to decide who has the better 01:50
pregnancy cravings. 01:52
And then whoever has the better 01:53
pregnancy cravings, hear me out. I get 01:54
to be named the godfather. Yay. 01:57
That was already my 01:59
That's fine. Sure. 02:01
I accept. Amanda, 02:02
I just tell my husband. I'm like, "So, 02:04
there's this guy. Um, 02:05
she's a chef. 02:08
Everything I've heard about your 02:09
husband, I think we would be play Call 02:10
of Duty and grunt in Russian at each 02:12
other. I think I can do that." Uh, 02:14
stop. 02:16
So, what do the two of you know about 02:16
pregnancy cravings? Like what have you 02:18
guys heard like oh cuz I've like you 02:19
were saying before the podcast if you're 02:21
craving something like salty that means 02:23
your body needs it. Do you guys agree 02:25
with that mentality or 02:27
I I do I will say like earlier on in my 02:29
pregnancy I was craving um dairy like a 02:33
like a maniac like Greek yogurt. I still 02:37
eat Greek yogurt every day but like milk 02:39
Greek yogurt cheese. I would dream about 02:42
it. 02:44
And I brought up to my friend and she's 02:45
like yeah you need more calcium. 02:46
Like you're growing baby's bones right 02:49
now. I think it was at like 12 weeks or 02:50
something. Really? 02:52
So now I take like 1,000 milligs of 02:53
calcium every night. 02:56
Excellent. 02:57
And didn't realize that until my body 02:57
was like that's what you need. 02:59
That's incredible. 03:00
Oh, that's what I believe. 03:01
That's funny. I I always I always 03:02
assumed pregnancy cravings were like 03:05
weird and gross, right? That's that's 03:06
the that's the stereotype. Peanut butter 03:07
and pickles. That became a real thing. 03:09
This just looks like a bunch of 03:11
delicious food I want to eat. 03:12
Um what does it mean if my body 03:14
constantly craves carnneada burritos? 03:16
What do you think I'm lacking? 03:18
I don't 03:20
I was going to say empathy, but you said 03:21
you're an empath, so I don't know if 03:22
that's true. 03:24
Empathy. Um I don't know. We all have 03:24
that college kid in us. It sounds 03:27
delicious. 03:29
But if you are craving like dirt, 03:30
that's a real pah. 03:33
That's a real thing that you are 03:35
missing. And I don't know what it is. 03:36
I don't know what it is either, but I've 03:38
heard people like they they like dog 03:39
food. 03:40
They like eat the they like eat things 03:41
that are not made for human consumption. 03:43
Yeah. 03:44
Yeah. Well, I remember Shayen Woodley 03:45
talking about um she was in Zimbabwe and 03:46
a Zimbabwean cab driver told her that it 03:48
was healthy to eat clay, so she started 03:50
eating clay, but I think it more plays 03:52
to what you were talking about of people 03:53
being iron deficient and they're being 03:54
iron. 03:56
So, did she eat clay? 03:58
Yeah. Yeah. I think she started selling 03:59
clay via goop or something as well. 04:00
Oh, nice. So cute. 04:02
Well, we had um Simone on last meals and 04:05
she had edible clay as part of her last 04:07
meal and then she's like, "Oh, I've been 04:09
vegan for the last 5 years." And it's 04:11
like I I think it's an iron deficiency. 04:12
Tested 04:16
since I clay. 04:16
I ate it with it. It was not terrible. 04:18
It's kind of like fine. 04:20
You ever You ever have a Neco wafer? 04:20
Yeah. Yeah. 04:23
I'm not 90 years old, so no. 04:24
Neco wafers are closer to clay than they 04:26
are to most 04:29
powdery. They're like powdery dust, 04:30
but very hard. 04:31
It's kind of like how I feel about 04:32
mering. And I know a lot of people don't 04:33
agree with me, but like I don't like 04:35
hardened mering. It feels like dust to 04:37
me. I love hardened. 04:39
Have either of you gone down like uh 04:41
like some of the weird more alt paths of 04:43
like pregnancy nutrition? You know, like 04:46
do you have any weird gurus that you 04:48
follow that aren't backed by science? 04:49
Like odd doulas on the internet? 04:51
I definitely follow some odd doulas on 04:54
the internet. 04:56
Like you're like drinking lavender 04:56
tinctures and stuff like that or I don't 04:57
know like 04:59
No, I'm not drinking lavender. I am 04:59
drinking like chrysanthemum tea with 05:01
honey, but I don't think I was told 05:03
though that you shouldn't have chamomile 05:05
and um 05:08
herbal teas. Yeah, herbal te's cuz they 05:08
make you like crampy. 05:10
Yeah, no herbal te. But I I I will say 05:12
my Instagram will not let me rest. I 05:14
just want to see funny things. 05:17
And it is only doulas. It is only 05:19
births. 05:23
Yeah. 05:24
It's only like I tore I'm like it's only 05:24
all these things where 05:27
I tore here's my story. Yeah. Here's my 05:28
story. And it's like hey when you're 05:31
there make sure you advocate for 05:32
yourself. But I'm like, "Okay, I get 05:34
that." But like, can I just watch 05:36
someone like, you know, falling into the 05:37
water by accident? 05:39
Yeah. 05:40
So, I guess there's doulas that I follow 05:41
that give me most of them are pretty 05:42
sweet. I don't know. 05:46
I'll be on Birth. 05:48
I'm using my doctor solely and he's a 05:49
nice guy. So, 05:51
yeah, I'm using I'm using my doc and 05:52
like some friends. 05:54
Yeah. 05:55
That will go I mean, do you really want 05:56
to hear this? 05:58
And I go, yeah, I do. I do. I do. What 05:59
have you two compared notes on like your 06:02
diets? Because I know there's so many 06:04
things. I'm gonna talk from like the 06:05
ignorant like sis male perspective here. 06:06
Good. Um, 06:08
someone needs to. But no, I I just hear 06:10
of all the things that pregnant people 06:13
aren't supposed to eat and it seems like 06:15
the list gets longer and longer as time 06:17
goes on. 06:18
Um, what are the things that you've like 06:19
decided to completely avoid? And what 06:22
are the things that you're like, I can 06:23
have some baloney? 06:24
I'll tell you what I've started. So, I 06:26
have completely nixed high mercury fish 06:28
from my diet. So, no tuna, no shark, no 06:30
um swordfish. Like no tuna salad 06:33
sandwiches. Like when I go get sushi, 06:36
like I'm not going to get like a spicy 06:37
tuna crispy rice. 06:39
Um I don't have any deli meats 06:40
whatsoever. 06:42
Yep. 06:43
Nothing from the deli period. Like I 06:43
like will I get a deli salad? Like Yeah, 06:45
like a like a chicken salad from the 06:48
deli. I'll do that. But like I won't get 06:49
like something sliced off of like the 06:51
machine is a nogo. 06:53
Once you hear about lististeria, you're 06:54
like no. 06:55
Yeah. No. Um what else? Um my steaks. I 06:56
still do a medium, sometimes medium 07:00
rare. 07:02
I am with you 100%. I do that, too. I'm 07:03
like a medium medium rare, 07:06
right? 07:08
And it's okay, 07:08
right? Um I do no herbal teas. I just 07:09
said that. What else do I do? Um I try I 07:11
try to stay away from raw seafood, 07:14
but cooked seafood, love it. Had some a 07:16
few days ago whenever we were at VidCon 07:19
and it was delicious. 07:21
It's wild because seafood's like my 07:22
favorite food. And 07:24
there are two things that's my favorite 07:25
food and I just couldn't do it during 07:27
this pregnancy is literally fish and 07:28
fried chicken. I like 07:31
Oh wow. No fried chicken. 07:32
Couldn't touch it. 07:33
What's wrong with fried chicken? 07:34
It's my favorite food, but I couldn't 07:35
touch it during my whole pregnancy. Oh 07:36
my goodness. 07:38
I don't know. It made me sicky. 07:39
Okay. Oh, it wasn't Somebody told you no 07:40
fried chicken. It was your own. 07:42
No one told me that, but someone did 07:44
tell me that. I didn't realize. They 07:45
were like, "Oh, stay away from tiramisu, 07:46
creme brulee, and Caesar dressing 07:49
cuz there's uncooked eggs." And I'm 07:51
like, 07:52
"Right, okay." 07:53
Tiramisu. 07:55
Yeah. Tiramisu has uncooked eggs 07:56
sometimes. 07:57
What the hell are the uncooked eggs in 07:58
tiramisu? 07:59
The mascar pone filling. 08:00
Yeah. 08:01
What? 08:01
What? 08:02
That's not uncooked eggs and masarone 08:02
filling. 08:04
Yeah. Yeah. The egg yolks are mixed with 08:05
the sugar and then they put the mascar. 08:06
Isn't it heated? 08:08
Sometimes some people not. 08:09
Here's the thing. That was something 08:12
that I was kind of like I could and I I 08:13
just I just ended up avoiding it. 08:16
Fair fair. I eat runny eggs sometimes. 08:17
I think like they're good. So, it's 08:19
fine. 08:21
A lot of the foods you shouldn't eat 08:22
when you're pregnant are also just foods 08:23
that you shouldn't eat when you're not 08:24
pregnant if you really want to avoid 08:26
food born illness, right? Like that's 08:27
the general 08:28
I will say deli meat. I was a little bit 08:29
like, huh, I love a turkey sandwich. 08:31
Yeah. But I'm also just like, huh, 08:34
lististeria. 08:37
But there there are a ton like I used to 08:38
write a lot about food safety and there 08:39
are so many lististeria outbreaks in 08:41
deli meats because they're just sealed 08:42
in package and they're wet as hell. They 08:44
sit there. But I've always been shocked 08:47
that bagged salad has not been on the 08:48
list. Did anybody tell you not to eat 08:51
bagged salad? 08:52
No one told me that. But I I'm very 08:53
fearful of bagged salad and lettuce in 08:56
general cuz I've never been sicker until 08:59
like I had bad spinach one time. 09:01
So I wash. 09:04
Someone died from spinach in my hometown 09:05
at the at the sue plantation. 09:07
Eoli and the spinach. Yeah. Poor 09:09
guy. 09:11
And when things aren't cooked like 09:11
that's where even when you're talking 09:13
about like a medium like a medium steak, 09:14
right? medium steak is 140 145. 09:15
Uh like thank you. Um but temperature of 09:18
like 09:21
instakill temperature pasteurization 09:22
temperature is generally what like 140 09:24
but held over time. 09:26
So if you have that like medium steak, 09:28
the risks are very very low. 09:30
Even compared to a rare steak that's 120 09:32
where the ecoli can still survive stuff 09:33
like that. So for me a lot of that stuff 09:35
makes sense. But I've always been 09:36
fascinated by like the raw produce 09:38
thing, 09:40
you know, or if like 09:40
it's a thing. Yeah. 09:42
You just got to wash it really well. I 09:43
don't use bag sal. I've never been a bag 09:44
salad person either. 09:45
Crushing it doesn't actually do that 09:47
much cuz the only way to kill bacteria 09:48
is again I told you I have a lot of 09:50
opinions and I want pregnant people 09:52
should eat. 09:53
How do you kill bacteria on lettuce? 09:54
On lettuce. 09:56
Cook it. 09:56
I'm not cooking lettuce. My ass off. 09:57
No, I mean like washing it does do 10:00
something. But as far as like actually 10:01
being safe, it seems like lettuce 10:02
uh 10:05
too late for me. But um 10:05
the damage has been done. 10:08
The damage is done. This baby's cooked. 10:09
Like literally my OB was like, "So your 10:12
baby's just kind of getting fat at this 10:14
point." And I was like, "Oh, so I I can 10:16
eat whatever I want, right?" 10:19
Kind of. 10:21
I have another question about pregnancy. 10:22
So, you know how grass-fed grass-fed 10:24
cows, right? They generally will be like 10:26
grass-fed grain finished cuz like you 10:27
feed it on grass to develop all the 10:30
muscular whatever, but then you want a 10:31
little bit of fat on a little bit of fat 10:32
on the cow as it gets to slaughter. 10:34
Are you asking? 10:36
And you feed it on grains. Is that the 10:36
same with pregnancy where it's like, 10:38
"All right, 10:39
you eat healthy. brain finished couch. 10:40
Definitely. That's exactly what I'm 10:42
asking. 10:43
You like eat healthy to nurse a baby, 10:44
but then in like the last two weeks, 10:46
it's like, all right, 10:48
you were doing well, John. 10:49
Let's beef it up, you know. 10:50
No, I Yes, I actually I I think that I 10:51
don't know. My OB just kind of She's not 10:56
super intense about what I'm eating. 10:59
Mine neither. 11:00
She like does not ask me what I'm 11:01
eating. 11:04
Yeah, my doctor doesn't 11:04
She just straight up ask me about 11:05
working out. Yeah, 11:06
like 11:08
more like how active are you? 11:10
Not like are you working out? Not like 11:13
hey what's your bench at? Three rep max, 11:15
not one rep. 11:17
She's like how active are you? 11:17
Okay, good. That's good. 11:19
Just to like figure out the position of 11:20
the baby. 11:21
Right. Sure. Sure. 11:22
Cuz right now like you for you it 11:23
doesn't matter what the position is yet. 11:25
For me 11:27
it does. 11:28
Yeah. Are you sitting backwards on a 11:29
couch yet? 11:30
We got to get you backwards on a couch. 11:32
No, I haven't sit backwards on a couch 11:34
yet. 11:35
We're going to have you sit backwards. I 11:35
have another question about pregnancy. 11:36
What's up? I love this 11:38
position. I love how you were talking 11:39
about how Shane will be like like are 11:40
you comfortable with me asking how you 11:42
are? And I'm just like so grass-fed cows 11:43
right before they slaughter. 11:46
We're all animals. We're all 11:48
Would we be 11:49
Well, no, no, no. I'm asking like 11:50
you're talking about like like loading 11:52
the baby for for birth, right? Like 11:53
positioning it cuz you want it to come 11:56
out head first, not feet first. 11:57
Feet first like a big bad 11:59
head first. Head facing spine. 12:00
Head facing spine. I never thought about 12:02
that. 12:03
Cuz the facing head facing spine. Yeah, 12:03
you have a head facing spine. 12:05
It's fine. And so you can do things to 12:06
manipulate the position of your baby. 12:09
There's like things that like help you 12:11
the baby flip. 12:13
Not everybody, but and if you can't do 12:14
it, then your OB will try to help you. 12:17
Did you ever play those those little 12:19
games where it's like water and there's 12:21
like a little ball that drops through 12:23
the water and you have to like adjust it 12:24
to get it to land on a platform? It's 12:25
like that but with your body, but like 12:26
with amniotic fluid instead of water. 12:28
Exactly. 12:29
Yeah. But the ball's like really big. 12:30
Yeah. Like really and like hard like 12:31
kicking at you, fighting back, you know? 12:35
Oh, yeah. 12:37
That's why. Is there a position most 12:38
babies prefer to be in in the womb? 12:39
Like they're like 12:41
prefer well like where they're 12:42
comfortable. 12:43
Yeah. Yeah. 12:44
They change throughout. So like they'll 12:44
essentially in your second trimester, 12:47
they're kind of doing their own. 12:49
They're swimming around. They're 12:51
touching they're touching their feet. 12:52
They're kind of like doing hiccups. Not 12:54
actual hiccups. They call the going up 12:57
and down hiccups. and they're kind of 12:59
just I I think but at a certain time and 13:01
I don't know what triggers them to do 13:06
it. They are like, "Oh, I gotta go down 13:08
there. I got to put my head down." 13:10
Oh, they know. 13:12
They know. But it does help if you're in 13:13
a if you kind of put your body in 13:15
specific positions. 13:17
Sure. Sure. Sure. 13:18
Like you want your you want your butt to 13:18
be a little higher than your knees 13:21
often. 13:23
Does that make sense? 13:25
Yeah. Yeah. cuz now I'm imagining 13:26
you don't want to be like crouched the 13:27
baby's going to be like 13:28
that's so fun. Thank you for educating 13:29
me. 13:31
I love the question. I think some people 13:32
get a little like freaked out like I 13:35
don't know about you but when I go to 13:38
like check out of the grocery store 13:40
whatever it's usually men who go oh my 13:41
god you're expecting like when you know 13:43
like and I never find it an issue. I I 13:45
like it cuz I'm like I'm pretty pregnant 13:48
at this point 13:50
but there are a lot of people who are 13:51
like 13:53
I don't want to ask. I can't believe 13:54
that person asked you when I 13:56
Right. Right. Right. 13:57
That's weird. 13:58
I don't really mind. 13:59
Um I don't know. I'm like I don't look 14:00
that pregnant right now. 14:02
So I'm still in that in between where 14:04
people are like they don't know how to 14:07
approach me. 14:09
So some people that know me, they're 14:10
like, "Oh my god, you're pregnant. Oh my 14:12
god, so crazy." And some people they 14:13
just look 14:14
Yes. 14:16
Yeah. 14:16
And it's like what? Whatever. Okay. 14:17
Thanks for looking. So Julia has 14:19
recently put a moratorium on me going up 14:20
to people and asking if they're a 14:22
celebrity that I think they are because 14:23
I'm 0 for three. 14:25
Don't do that. 14:26
Yeah. So I've done that a couple times. 14:28
But the point is 14:29
the point is uh the fear of going up to 14:31
somebody and going, "Oh my god, when are 14:34
you due?" And them being like, "I'm not 14:36
pregnant." 14:37
That would put me off of asking anybody 14:38
that ever. And I've never done that. But 14:40
knowing, 14:42
it's very scary. I I get it. It's very 14:43
scary. But when you are on the other 14:45
side of it, when you are really pregnant 14:48
and like you might need help. 14:50
Yeah. 14:51
To like get your 14:51
get your stuff to the car, you're kind 14:53
of like, 14:55
"Please help me." 14:56
I am. 14:57
And I really thought Gary Senise was at 14:57
my gym. 14:59
Who's that? 15:00
Gary Senise. Uh, Lieutenant Dan. 15:01
I don't know who the Yeah. No, he 15:03
wasn't. It wasn't. It was a guy that 15:06
looked like Gary Senise. I said, "Hey, 15:07
Gary Senise." And he said, "What?" And I 15:08
said, "I'm so sorry. Are you Gary 15:10
Senise?" And he said, "No, my name is 15:11
Daniel." And I said, "Oh, that's all 15:13
right." And then I was like, well, have 15:14
a hey, have a you have a great workout. 15:16
That's so awkward. 15:17
Are you a fan of Gary Senise or anyway? 15:18
So I I would be so scared of that, but 15:20
we need a hand signal for pregnant women 15:22
to be like, I need help. 15:24
It's normally like this. 15:26
Honestly, I think that the signal 15:28
the rubbing of the stomach. 15:30
Yeah. 15:31
Yeah. The hand on the the hand and like 15:32
the arm on the belly is 15:34
I think I think probably don't I think 15:36
actually don't ask anyone if they're 15:38
pregnant unless they're doing the 15:40
Buddha. People at work are saying that 15:42
I'm like uh talking to my crystal ball. 15:44
Like I'm just like I'm just like seeing 15:46
the future. 15:49
That's me like postChinese buffet though 15:50
where I'm just sitting there just kind 15:51
of like 15:52
Exactly. So anyone could actually 15:53
potentially. 15:56
You know what? Don't listen to my advice 15:56
at all. What we are going to do is eat 15:58
some stuff cuz I'm hungry. Are you guys 16:01
Are you pregnant? No. I went to the 16:03
Mongolian noodle station twice. 16:04
Okay. So I thought it'd be nice if we 16:07
started with both of our cravings right 16:08
now, which is true fru. Wait, this is on 16:10
both your list? Hell yeah. This is on my 16:13
non-pregant list. 16:15
So I as So I asked him and I said like, 16:16
"Give me your list." And then I saw that 16:18
we had the same thing and I'm like, "Oh 16:20
my god, this is incredible." True 16:22
fruits. There's literally they're 16:24
literally chocolate covered fruits. 16:25
Could we make this at home? Yeah. Do I 16:27
want to? Absolutely never. I don't ever 16:29
want to do that. 16:32
No, because there's peanut butter in 16:32
this 16:34
and and the banana ones are actually my 16:36
favorite. I started with the raspberries 16:37
and felt really good about it, but then 16:40
I moved to the bananas. 16:41
I've only had the banana. Raspberries 16:43
are great. 16:44
The raspberries are my favorite, but 16:45
this is a close second. 16:47
Trufu Mhm. 16:49
is incredible. 16:50
What a lovely treat. What is it about 16:51
trufu that that really uh speaks to you 16:53
and and your baby? 16:55
Well, I don't know. My sister sent it to 16:57
me and I was like, what is this? It 16:59
feels like you're kind of you can 17:01
indulge. So, you can have 10 and be like 17:03
fruit fine, 17:05
right? It feels like you can indulge and 17:08
I don't feel like crap after. 17:09
Like eating a lot of ice cream for me is 17:11
fun in the moment and then I kind of die 17:14
a little bit. 17:16
Exactly. This is like my alternative to 17:17
ice cream as well. 17:18
It makes me feel it makes me feel like 17:20
I'm making a better decision 17:21
for me and my baby. So 17:23
that that feeling of guilt is is 17:25
interesting because I think so many 17:27
people have they already have food 17:28
guilt, 17:29
right? You eat a bunch of ice cream, 17:30
feel bad. But like has that changed for 17:32
you like being pregnant? 17:34
Mhm. man, 17:35
for me, very much so. Especially like 17:36
being a woman in the entertainment 17:39
industry 17:40
is there. You're so scrutinized about 17:42
your weight all the time. 17:44
All the time. 17:45
And also this whole idea of like 17:46
bouncing back. I think for me, I really 17:47
enjoyed especially in my second 17:51
trimester when my appetite cuz the first 17:52
was really rough 17:54
really 17:55
second trimester when I had a full 17:56
appetite. I was like food is so good. It 17:58
nourishes your body. It's so delicious. 18:03
You can have such a good time with it. 18:06
And it was like, 18:08
you can go two different ways, but I 18:10
felt like I was like, I enjoy food. It's 18:11
keeping me alive. It's keeping this baby 18:15
alive. 18:17
And seeing it that way, it was like, I'm 18:18
going to let myself eat food, 18:20
right? 18:21
Like, eat food. 18:22
Absolutely. 18:23
And your body is very intuitive. Like, 18:24
if you're craving something, 18:26
you need it. You need fruit. The one 18:29
thing I've constantly told myself is I'm 18:31
going to honor my cravings because it's 18:32
not just me, right? There's another 18:34
thing going on in there. 18:36
So, it's I think it's vital to not it's 18:37
not indulging, it's honoring your body 18:40
and listening to what it's saying and 18:42
saying, "Okay, this is what you want 18:43
right now. Listen to it." 18:45
Agreed. 18:47
I'm inspired to honor my body after 18:48
this. 18:50
Yeah, you should. No, I mean I mean 18:50
honestly like I you know uh try to like 18:52
eat healthy, whatever, but I know I do 18:54
have that like 18:56
that instinct of like self shame, 18:57
you know, but I also know that like 19:00
transferring that instinct to somebody 19:01
else is also terrible. And like 19:03
I don't know, you know, if you read to 19:06
your if you read to your baby in the 19:07
womb or you play classical music, they 19:08
turn out more smarter. I think I heard 19:10
someone say that commercial. 19:12
My husband plays techno. My husband 19:13
plays techno. Yeah, 19:15
she's a big fan of Acon. She likes smack 19:16
that. Smack that. 19:18
So good. What is there like does your 19:19
baby turn out more differently if you 19:22
eat more different foods? 19:24
I mean, I don't know. 19:25
Don't I couldn't tell you. I don't know. 19:26
But I will say like nourish your body 19:28
and it it has made me go even, you know, 19:30
when I have the baby, I'm going to be 19:33
like 19:35
there's no point sitting there just like 19:36
thinking and feeling guilty about the 19:39
thing you just ate. It's done. 19:41
It's done. 19:43
You did it. Like I don't know. I'm at 19:43
this point where it's like stay active. 19:46
Eat what you need to eat 19:49
and uh you're nourishing your body and 19:51
have some vegetables. Like have some 19:52
vegetables, have some fruit, but also, 19:54
you know, live your life a little bit. 19:56
You don't have to go ham. 19:58
You don't have to go ham. You can't even 19:59
eat ham. 20:00
Actually, don't eat the ham. 20:01
Yeah. Don't eat ham. 20:02
Yeah. So, let's start with some of 20:03
yours. Do you want to explain what what 20:05
we have here? Do you want me to explain 20:07
what we have here? 20:08
I for Yeah. 20:08
Okay. So, the first thing that I saw was 20:10
banana bread with slabs of butter. 20:13
Yeah. Now I understand this thoroughly 20:15
because butter is a very important food 20:19
that I am eating as well. 20:22
I love butter. 20:23
I have been consuming so much butter. 20:24
Yep. 20:27
In so many different forms. 20:28
Yep. Cuz it it feels so Also, my husband 20:29
loves butter so much. And I used to be 20:31
like that's way too much butter, honey. 20:33
And now I'm like butter. 20:36
Banana bread. 20:38
Also bread. 20:40
Just bread in general. 20:41
Uhhuh. 20:42
Yeah. I'm a big PB&J girl right now. Oh, 20:42
PB&J. 20:45
PB&J. 20:46
I What I do is I make a PB&J with sea 20:47
salt. 20:48
And it's so sexy. 20:49
Oh my god. Toast. I was having toast 20:51
with jelly and a little bit of peanut 20:53
butter 20:55
today 20:55
with my decaf iced coffee and it was 20:56
delicious. I am having caffeine. 20:57
I am having caffeine. 20:59
But like a little bit. 21:00
I have a coffee a day. I have an 21:02
espresso a day and I'm happy with it. 21:03
And I could have four, but I choose to 21:06
only have one. Isn't that so delicious? 21:08
I want to be pregnant, too. 21:10
Oh, you made a sandwich. Yeah, it's like 21:12
we all eat it differently. I love this. 21:14
Josh made a sandwich. Amanda slathered 21:15
the butter. And I just I just bit right 21:17
into the slab. 21:20
Now it's like a cake. 21:22
Well, you should know that when your 21:23
partner is pregnant, you the other 21:25
partner eats pretty much what? 21:28
They have no 21:30
They have no choice. Have either of your 21:32
partners gone sober? 21:34
No. 21:37
No. He went 21:38
Sorry, didn't mean to bring. 21:39
No, not at all. He went sober while we 21:40
were trying to get pregnant. So like no 21:43
alcohol, no cigarettes. He was eating 21:46
really healthy, working out a lot. 21:49
And then once he found he's like, "All 21:51
right, time to party." 21:52
That's ex same thing. Now he's like, 21:53
"Frozen pizza?" Yeah. 21:56
I forgot to mention frozen pizza. Or 21:58
maybe I had it. 22:00
Frozen pizza. I don't know what or why. 22:01
Oh my gosh. It's okay. 22:04
I love frozen pizza. 22:05
But frozen over like delivery. 22:06
Delivery is just going to break the bank 22:09
in LA. Let's be real. A 10 in is like 22:11
$24. 22:14
Honestly, Whole Foods frozen pizza is so 22:15
good. And I know that's wild. 22:19
Underrated. Underrated. 22:22
So good. 22:23
Underrated. 22:24
You enjoy that. 22:25
This is so good. 22:26
This pregnancy has been sponsored by 22:27
DeJouro, our new rising croissant crust 22:28
pizza. 22:31
All right. Totally. 22:33
You enjoy that. And I'm going to explain 22:34
the next one. So, ube ice cream was on 22:35
your list. Ube is a purple yam found in 22:38
the Philippines. 22:41
Yep. 22:42
Um, I got you two kinds. 22:43
You're amazing. 22:45
I wanted you to try the boba one. And 22:46
then we also have the ube with 22:47
macakapuno, which is co young coconut, 22:50
right, Josh? Oh, sorry. It's pretty 22:52
melted. Sorry about that. 22:54
Oh, wow. Watch out for that computer. 22:55
But it's fine. 22:57
Um, I'm going to eat I'm going to eat 22:59
the coconut one because why not? Oh my 23:00
god, it's so melted. I'm so sorry. 23:02
Oh my god. 23:04
Don't be sorry. Oh my god. 23:06
I like it. It gets in your bloodstream 23:08
faster when it's melted. 23:09
Mhm. 23:10
Oh. 23:12
What is it about ube you love so much? 23:13
It's not super sweet. 23:16
Oh, fair. 23:17
I don't like super sweet. 23:18
Okay, good. 23:20
Um, and also like I don't know. It's 23:22
It's also like What is I I I like 23:25
different flavors for ice cream. Okay. I 23:28
love lavender, earl grey, 23:30
like rose, saffron. 23:33
Beautiful. 23:35
Um, 23:36
have you been to Mashi Malone? 23:37
Of course. It's my favorite ice cream 23:38
place. 23:39
Nice. 23:40
Mhm. 23:40
Persian ice cream all day. 23:41
I was just going to mention that Mashi 23:42
Malones is my favorite ice cream place. 23:44
Persian ice cream. What did I have 23:45
there, though? Oh, cucumber. 23:47
Yeah. 23:49
Yes. Cuz it's not like a sorbet. 23:49
God, it's not like light and fresh. No, 23:51
it's like heavy cream cucumber. It's 23:53
awesome. 23:55
It's delicious. You and I have the ex 23:56
I've never met anybody with the exact 23:57
same taste of ice cream as 23:59
me. I too because um I rarely know 24:00
anyone either. 24:03
Yeah. No, I once ruined an entire office 24:04
pizza party or not pizza party, ice 24:06
cream party. I once ruined an entire 24:08
office ice cream party because the only 24:09
flavors I got were uh rose and and 24:11
lavender. 24:15
In fairness, I got it. 24:16
It was saffron rose. I'm team saffron 24:18
rose. Um but it was because I was trying 24:19
to break the world record for most ice 24:22
cream scoops in a single cone. So, I 24:23
need a lot of ice cream. And I was like, 24:24
"Everyone's gonna love the lavender and 24:26
rose that I picked out." And everyone 24:27
was like, "This tastes like perfume." 24:28
Yeah, 24:30
people. So, I brought my mom and sister 24:30
to Mash Malones and they were like, 24:32
"It's just too It's too flowery." And 24:35
I'm like, I 24:37
that's the point. It's supposed to be 24:38
good. 24:40
So, so that's So, like ube ube is one of 24:41
my faves. 24:44
Really, really good. Um, 24:45
it's delicious. But yeah, that's the 24:47
kind of ice cream that I want. Also, 24:48
it's very refreshing. 24:49
Yeah. 24:51
But no, not a lot of people enjoy it. 24:51
That's fun. It's fun to see a part of 24:53
yourself in another person. I'm glad you 24:55
guys are bonding. 24:57
No. Oh my god. 24:58
Oh my god. Josh, 25:00
it's just the carne sada burrito sitting 25:01
there. 25:03
And then finally, we have straight up 25:03
broth. 25:05
Yep. Chicken broth. We got to do it. 25:06
I'm so sorry that you guys have this. 25:09
I'm sorry if it's not that warm. 25:10
That's okay. 25:12
But um I love this because I love 25:13
sipping on broth, too. 25:15
I love what I love to do is 25:16
I love to walk around with like a secret 25:18
in my cup. Everyone thinks it's coffee. 25:21
Nope. 25:22
It's not coffee. 25:23
It's broth. 25:23
It's broth. 25:24
Wait, so you've been you've been doing 25:24
broth? 25:25
I've been I I've been doing this before. 25:26
Like I used to I've been doing this for 25:28
years. 25:29
Walking around with a cup of broth is 25:30
like my little secret. 25:31
For most people, that's like a little 25:32
bit of scotch, you know, in their cup. 25:34
But no, you're you're just broth. 25:36
Yes. We love the chicken broth. Well, my 25:38
husband loves to like cook whole 25:39
chickens and then he'll make broth and 25:42
then freeze it. Well, bless you. 25:44
And I just would heat it up 25:46
and drink it. Also, I don't know if you 25:48
felt like sick in your first trimester. 25:51
I didn't have a single bout of morning 25:53
sickness. I never threw up. I was never 25:55
nauseous. I don't know what was going 25:57
on, but I'm actually nauseous like 25:59
around now, which sucks. 26:01
That's okay. That's okay. That kind of 26:02
makes sense. I think it's probably the 26:04
start of your heartburn or something. 26:05
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my god. If I could 26:06
have Tums as one of my items here, it 26:08
would be Tums. 26:09
Oh, Pepsidac is my 26:10
It's Pepsidac is my baby. That is 26:12
morning and night, honey. Oh my gosh. 26:16
The amount of Tums I consume should be 26:19
illegal. 26:20
That That's why that's why you're 26:21
probably not having much of not an 26:23
appetite, but like probably why you're 26:25
feeling a little 26:27
nauseous. Yeah. In the morning, 26:27
but like my first my first trimester 26:28
tough. 26:31
I could only have fruit and maybe some 26:32
broth. No way. 26:33
Saltines only to get out of bed. 26:34
Couldn't even get out of bed. 26:37
I I know I'm a rare case and I know a 26:38
lot of people do have more I think I 26:39
think 80% of women experience morning 26:41
sickness in some degree. 26:43
It's like all day sickness. But it's not 26:44
you're not thr I mean there's a lot of 26:46
people who throw up but I I was not I 26:48
just felt car sick 24/7. 26:50
Oh that's almost worse cuz I feel like 26:52
when you vomit it like relieves you you 26:54
know but you never get that full like 26:57
sense of relief. 26:58
I know. And when I found out I was 26:59
pregnant I was in um a potato costume 27:00
for like a week at Smosh. 27:02
No way. 27:04
Yes. Yes I was. And I was like I want to 27:06
be dead. 27:09
But I had a big slab of butter right 27:10
here on the potato costume. That's 27:12
incredible. 27:14
Shooting for Spud Hut. So, I would just 27:15
rub the butter 27:16
and I was just like, 27:17
"I love you butter." 27:18
And people would make jokes. They're 27:19
like, "Oh my god, you look pregnant." 27:20
And I was like, "No, I don't. 27:21
No, I don't. No, I don't. That's so 27:23
rude. 27:25
Shut up. Shut up." 27:25
Okay. All three of yours were delicious. 27:28
I must say that banana bread with the 27:30
slab of butter really sent me. 27:31
I like the the ube ice cream because 27:34
that is also one of my favorite flavors, 27:36
but I don't know. It feels like um feel 27:38
like you're going to give birth to a 27:39
little foodie baby. Oh, yeah. You know, 27:40
little Anthony Bourdain in there. 27:42
You ready? 27:44
Minus the addiction issues. 27:45
You ready for a hard pivot, guys? 27:48
Did a lot of heroin. Yeah. Go ahead. 27:49
Hard pivot. Okay. So, the first thing I 27:51
want you guys to try, I don't know why 27:53
my body craves Vegemite. 27:56
Hell yes. 28:00
Whoa, this is a hard pivot. 28:00
So, this morning alone, I had two 28:02
Vegemite toast. This is about to be my 28:04
third one. It's toast. 28:05
What is butter? I'll tell you right now. 28:07
It's toast with butter and veg. I want 28:09
you guys to have I cut into little 28:11
fours. Um, 28:12
so cute. 28:13
Thank you so much. 28:14
Someone's going to be Can I ask about 28:15
the cook on this toast? Was that 28:16
It's a little hard. Yeah, it's hard. 28:18
I like it. It's hoard. 28:19
I like it. I like a hoorde. 28:20
It's a hoorde toast. 28:22
I like a hoard toast. 28:23
Um, Vegemite is a yeast extract and it's 28:24
like the most imagine soy sauce that has 28:27
been cooked down for like 40 hours 28:29
and then they throw in a little bit of 28:32
salt and then a little bit more salt and 28:34
then like a few like uh what is it 28:36
called? Nutritional yeast flakes in it. 28:38
Okay. 28:40
I don't know why I'm obsessed with this. 28:43
I love Vegemite. 28:45
You love Vegemite? Oh my god. 28:46
Okay. It just tastes like salted butter. 28:48
Right. Right. 28:52
There's almost this cheesiness that kind 28:53
of washes over you. 28:55
Cheese washing over me. 28:57
Yum. Yum. Yum. 28:59
Oh, it means a lot to me that you guys 29:02
are eating this. 29:04
This is like scratching like a a 29:06
psychobiological itch that you have. 29:07
Oh my god. You don't even know like how 29:10
it like I would if I could eat it with a 29:12
spoon. I I can't do that cuz I'll get 29:14
sick. But if I could just eat it with a 29:15
spoon like Nutella, I would. 29:17
Oh, Nutella. Don't even get me started 29:19
on 29:21
And apparently this is ve uh Vegemite is 29:21
very high in folic acid, which I didn't 29:24
know. I had no idea. Good or bad? 29:26
Very good for pregnant. 29:28
Very good for Yeah. You take it in your 29:29
prenatal. 29:31
Yeah. Yeah. So I had no idea. I'm like, 29:32
"Oh my god, there's so much there's so 29:33
much folic acid in this." Hell yeah. So, 29:35
I've just been mainlining folic acid. 29:37
Is that Do you like it? 29:39
It's like a deep salt. 29:40
It's a deep savory salty flavor with the 29:42
butter and like toast. Imagine it like a 29:44
little bit warmer. Oh my god. 29:46
I actually do really like it. It kind of 29:47
Yeah, it's like 29:49
It does taste like soy sauce, but like I 29:50
don't know. It feels like it's deep. 29:52
Yeah, deep is the right way to explain. 29:54
It's deep flavor. 29:56
I like the toast, too. Honestly, that's 29:57
how I toast my toast. 29:59
Very good. No, that that was not me 30:01
complaining about the toast, but I was 30:02
literally wondering if your body was 30:03
like craving slightly burnt foods. 30:05
No, 30:06
you know, 30:07
I just like a toast. I just like 30:07
toast 30:09
everything now. I'm like, it's a clue. 30:09
So now, 30:11
yeah, you're on a mission to 30:12
investigate. 30:13
What is in cornflakes 30:14
book pregnancy? 30:16
Pregnancy by Josh 30:18
for men. 30:20
So this next thing is chocolate with 30:21
cornflakes in it. So 30:23
Levi Sport. 30:25
Yeah, I've actually never had the Ritter 30:27
Sport one. I've been like really 30:28
enjoying the um the Trader Joe's one. 30:30
M Oh my god. 30:32
There's something about it, baby. The 30:34
crunchy and the milkiness. 30:36
They marry together and they make the 30:39
most delicious chocolate eat. I don't 30:42
eat chocolate like this. 30:44
That is deep. I will say I eat that 30:45
before 30:48
Mhm. 30:49
pregnancy. 30:50
Mhm. 30:50
I love chocolate. I love I love having 30:52
chocolate bars in the house. That's like 30:54
my favorite thing cuz after dinner you 30:56
just want a little 30:57
a little bit little something. 30:58
Mhm. I like dark chocolate but I never I 30:59
never reach for milk chocolate but milk 31:01
chocolate and corn flakes. 31:02
Yum. 31:04
Heaven scent. 31:04
Delicious. 31:06
Also cornflake ice cream. 31:07
Yeah. 31:09
Yeah. I agree with you. 31:09
Mhm. 31:10
I need a break. 31:11
Wow. 31:12
It's the savory. It's the savoriness in 31:12
the ice cream. You like savoriness and 31:13
ice cream. It's like ube. 31:14
You said that's just like a plant 31:16
and the lavender floralness too. 31:17
Yeah. Funny. 31:19
That's delish. 31:20
And then the piece to 31:22
Oh, no. Well, there's Taco Bell. I'm not 31:23
a doctor, 31:26
but 31:27
I feel like Taco Bell can't be 31:29
ostensibly like nothing at Taco Bell can 31:30
be ostensibly good for a baby debate. 31:33
Well, I've been eating three of the 31:35
view. 31:37
A lot of a lot of pregnant people love 31:38
like crave fast food like 31:39
is a lot of craving calorie density cuz 31:42
like like the the amount of butter on 31:44
the banana bread. 31:45
It might be. It might be. Well, also 31:46
like I don't know about you, but during 31:49
my first trimester, I was so lazy. I'm 31:50
like, I'm not cooking. What the f? I'm 31:52
not putting my body through standing up 31:53
and shaking a pan. 31:56
So, I barely cooked at home. Taco Bell 31:57
was my savior. Like when I was driving 32:00
home from work cuz I have like a long 32:03
commute home. I live in West LA. So, 32:05
from Burbank to West LA, it's like kind 32:06
of annoying. 32:08
I would stop at any Taco Bell if I would 32:08
see one. I just like I was like, you 32:10
save my life. So, in here, I have the 32:13
following, which is my order every 32:15
single time. Um, it's a cheesy gordita 32:17
crunch and then a cheesy double beef 32:19
burrito, no rice, add potatoes, and then 32:21
about 12 fire sauces. 32:23
The cheesy double beef burrito, no rice 32:25
potatoes. That That is a classic. Yeah, 32:27
I really do. 32:29
If I eat that right now, I'm going to 32:30
vomit. 32:31
That's where you're at right now. 32:32
I'll take one for the team. 32:34
I'll take one for the team. Josh, try 32:35
the burrito. Let me tell you right now, 32:36
it is so 32:38
You want a burrito? 32:39
Yeah, I got to try a little bit. I will 32:40
say I've had Taco Bell twice in my life. 32:42
I'm not kidding. Not because I I spin on 32:45
fast food, but just Taco Bell 32:48
specifically. I grew up with like Burger 32:50
King and Wendy's. 32:52
So, I got one. I got to rip it in half. 32:55
Yeah. Rip this in half. Don't forget the 32:57
fire sauces, guys. Don't forget the fire 32:59
sauses. 33:00
Go. 33:01
Wow. 33:01
Josh, give her a fire sauce. 33:03
I'm going 33:04
I want a how-to book on eating food 33:05
while you're pregnant written by Josh. 33:07
I think that'd be so fun. 33:09
You got to rip this really fast. 1 2 3 33:10
go. I'm donating all my proceeds to 33:12
Pregnant Women International. 33:14
Brave. 33:16
Okay. What's in this puppy? 33:18
So, it's cheese, sour cream, fiesta 33:19
strips, 33:23
and double beef. And then instead of the 33:24
rice, I put potatoes in it. You guys, it 33:27
is so good. 33:29
It is so good. 33:31
Mhm. 33:32
Watching you guys eat it means a lot to 33:33
me. Like, watch I don't know. I don't 33:35
think you guys understand. Watching you 33:36
two eat my pregnancy cravings has 33:38
unlocked a a part of my heart that I 33:40
didn't think was possible. 33:42
Doesn't it feel good? Like when you guys 33:43
ate that much butter. 33:45
I was really really grateful. It made me 33:46
feel so seen. 33:48
Yeah. I feel seen very sweet. 33:50
Okay. This is actually really good. 33:53
Enjoy my love. Enjoy. 33:54
I feel like I can now empathize with 33:55
both of your babies. I feel in some way 33:58
I am your baby. Yeah. 34:01
That's good. You know 34:03
that's also the second part of your 34:04
book. This is so creepy. 34:05
Be the baby. Why is that creepy? 34:07
What's this hidden chapter in this book? 34:09
I am your baby and it's just a picture 34:11
of you surrounded by food 34:13
in a wildly upsetting costume. I'm not 34:15
going to say what it is, but it is 34:17
wildly upsetting. 34:18
He's been in a diaper more than once. 34:19
I love it. I love it. 34:22
You and a very specific subset of people 34:24
on TikTok really love it. 34:25
Mhm. Mhm. 34:27
I need you to tell me, Josh, my friend. 34:28
I need to tell me, Josh, who had the 34:29
best pregnancy cravings? And if you can 34:31
be honest. 34:32
Oh, yeah. I I this is such a stupid 34:33
thing to rank. 34:36
I will say 34:38
that means a lot. 34:39
It means a lot. It means a lot to me. 34:39
I I I like the Vegemite on toast. To me, 34:41
that's like that's hyper specific. It's 34:43
ultra delicious. Um I love the corn 34:45
flakes and the chocolate. That's fun. 34:48
But I think as far as like storytelling 34:50
goes as far as utter insanity of certain 34:52
butter portions, and I mean that in a 34:54
good way. Like I actually really love 34:56
what you said about, you know, your body 34:57
like craving nutrition, honoring those 34:59
cravings. Food is fuel for you, you 35:01
know, and um whatever are baby babies 35:04
are technically parasites by definition. 35:06
Sure. 35:09
And whatever's growing inside you, but 35:09
that's the end of your book. 35:11
Parasites, question mark. 35:13
We're selling feweries. 35:14
I got to give the win to Amanda on this 35:16
one. 35:17
I did not think that you would give the 35:19
win to me cuz when you asked about my 35:21
cravings, I will say every time I tell 35:23
people my cravings, they're like, "Oh, 35:25
okay." They're not like, "That's not 35:27
crazy." And I was like, "Yeah, okay. 35:29
What are you expecting?" 35:32
But it's what I'm craving. I'm like 35:33
craving the nutrientrich. 35:35
Wow. So, I'm honored. 35:37
Welld deserved. I'm honored. But this is 35:38
I'm honored that you're going to name 35:40
your baby after me. 35:41
Uh-huh. 35:42
All right, Nicole and Amanda, we've 35:46
heard what you and I have to say. Now, 35:47
it's time to find out what other wacky 35:48
ideas are rattling out there in the 35:50
universe. Time for a little segment. 35:51
Maybe we call 35:52
opinions are like casserles. 35:53
Just a second. Weird. 35:56
Stop that segment weird. 36:01
Listen, my voice my voice is cracked. We 36:03
were just We were at the VidCon and we 36:05
were yelling at a lot of people, 36:07
screaming, 36:08
screaming. 36:09
People were screaming at us. People are 36:10
screaming at us. They're like, "What are 36:12
you doing here? You're too pregnant." 36:13
And I was like, "No." 36:14
Um, people were screaming at us because 36:16
we played Family Feud against a group of 36:18
YouTubers called Crew. 36:20
And um, turns out with a K. 36:22
They had about 15 times the amount of 36:26
fans that we did and and a lot of them 36:27
tended to be young, which is great. We 36:29
love the new generation. But um they 36:30
were actively booing us when we got 36:32
answers right and cheering when we got 36:34
answers right. 36:37
Incredible. It was incredible. 36:37
It made me feel so good. It was like 36:40
I felt evil. I felt you feel good. 36:42
I went like this at one point. I was 36:44
like, 36:45
isn't that so fun when all the fans boo 36:46
you? 36:49
We had a 300 point lead at some point in 36:49
Family Feud. I just want to go, are 36:51
these your heroes? Are you not 36:52
entertained? 36:55
Uh, we ended up losing it. It was really 36:56
fun though, but um screaming to the 36:57
kids. Uh, Maggie, should we get to that 37:00
first opinion? 37:01
Yeah, 37:02
let's do it. 37:02
Hi, Josh and Nicole 37:04
and Amanda. 37:05
My opinion is that 37:06
pickles dipped in honey 37:11
are so good. And apparently it's a 37:14
pregnancy craving, but 37:16
I'm not pregnant and I've never been 37:19
pregnant. But yeah, it's very good. I 37:21
recommend it. 37:26
Wow. Okay. Let's say you 37:29
I say it sounds like salty and sweet. I 37:32
guess that could work. It to me it feels 37:35
so like liquid on liquid. 37:38
Yeah. I don't know how you would dip it 37:40
in honey. You know what I mean? Like 37:43
it's not porous enough to pick it up. 37:44
Kind of sloth off the wet, 37:46
right? Hear me out. Bread and butter 37:48
pickles. Ever heard of them? That's what 37:50
I was going to say. 37:52
Why don't you just do that? 37:52
Actually, wait. I I would have a 37:53
sandwich with like honey hot chicken 37:55
with pickles. 37:57
Okay, that sounds good. 37:59
That sounds delicious. 38:00
Actually, is adding a ton of honey to a 38:01
pickle brine. Sounds really nice. 38:02
Yeah, 38:03
there's the honey mustard pickles, the 38:04
the famous ones that are at the farmer 38:05
and Kaylin and Kaylin. 38:06
I've not had those great. 38:07
Oh, you got to go to the farmers market 38:09
and get a pickle flight. They have like 38:10
you can choose from five different 38:12
pickles. 38:14
I love pickles. 38:14
And they're very creative. 38:15
Okay. I I would love someone who's more 38:16
knowledgeable on this to expound on it, 38:18
but there's got to be some sort of link 38:20
between pickles and hormones, right? 38:22
Because pickles and pregnancy cravings 38:25
are a huge thing. I don't know how many 38:26
trans people you've talked to, but I've 38:28
talked to a lot who when they transition 38:30
say they crave pickles. 38:32
No way. 38:34
What? Maybe it's the vine. 38:34
I think this is supportive and not 38:36
offensive. Uh I just think it's really 38:38
cool. But like I would love to learn 38:40
more about the link between pickles and 38:42
hormone shift, 38:44
you know? I love that too. So your 38:45
second book was when coming when is it 38:48
coming out? 38:50
Pickles and hormones the sharer story. 38:50
But I will say I I loved I love pickles 38:53
before pregnancy and I love them during. 38:56
I don't know what it is. I also hear 38:59
that pickles also spark your appetite. 39:00
Like I don't know if it's the vinegar or 39:03
fermentation salt. Like there's 39:05
gen I mean the the the world over has 39:08
eaten pickles for for millennia. 39:10
Yeah. I ate a pickle a day. 39:11
Yeah. Me too. I had a pickle. Ate a 39:13
Bubbies pickle a day. 39:14
Hell yeah. 39:16
Bubbies. 39:16
I think that's my like is that it a 39:17
probiotic at that point? A prebiotic? 39:18
Yeah, Bubbies is certainly lacto 39:20
fermented. Yeah. 39:21
Yeah, pretty much. 39:22
That's that's that's my med that's my 39:23
medicine. 39:24
Anyone pregnant people and trans people, 39:25
chime in in the chat about your love 39:27
love or hatred of pickles. 39:29
This is I've never 39:30
I don't have hard data on this. This is 39:31
all anecdotal. 39:33
I've never heard of the link from of 39:34
trans people and pickles. 39:35
You want to do some googling on that? 39:37
I would love to hear more about that. 39:38
It might have been like two trans people 39:40
and I'm like that's a trend. 39:41
Uh, 39:43
but with Honey. Yeah, 39:45
I'm in. 39:46
Yeah. 39:47
Hey guys, this is Emily. I'm from 39:50
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. 39:52
Lancaster. 39:54
And I'm calling because I want to know 39:55
your opinion that I am excited and 39:58
expecting my fourth child. And one of 40:02
the first things that always happens to 40:04
me when I'm pregnant is my smell 40:05
gets intensified dramatically. Mhm. 40:08
Uh like to the point where it's 40:11
overwhelming sometimes. So my thing is 40:13
that normally 40:16
um like one of my favorite things is 40:18
pepperoni pizza, but when I'm pregnant, 40:20
I can't take the pepperoni. It's just 40:23
like too overpowering and I always 40:25
choose cheese. 40:27
So I'm wondering if you guys have 40:28
anything that's one of your favorite 40:30
foods, but if it was 40:31
more intense, it would turn in to one of 40:34
the worst things. So thanks. Love 40:36
listening to you guys. See you. Yeah, 40:39
100%. It's It was impossible for me to 40:42
go in like our trash room. 40:45
I also walked by a neighbor and they 40:47
just put out fresh manure 40:48
and I think I was seven weeks and had it 40:50
was a very bad time. It was a very bad 40:52
moment. And I was just mentioning to you 40:54
oregano and thyme, right? Um can't can't 40:56
smell it. 40:59
Can't do it. Can't do it. 40:59
Can't do it. 41:00
You feel that? 41:01
Um yeah. The smell of my fridge has been 41:02
wreaking havoc on me for the past 3 41:04
weeks. 41:06
It doesn't matter. Like I've cleaned it. 41:07
My husband's cleaned it. Like, it 41:10
doesn't matter. It's just the fridge. 41:12
Something's in there. 41:15
No, I've I've I've purged it. I've 41:16
purged it. 41:18
You got a demon in there. 41:18
I've scrubbed it. 41:19
No, it might not be something bad. It 41:20
might be something in there that smells 41:22
That's fine. 41:25
I don't know. But whenever It's weird 41:25
whenever I like am rushing out of the 41:27
house 41:29
and I open my fridge, I smell it and I 41:29
throw 41:32
No. 41:33
Yeah. It's it's I think it's the 41:33
combination of 41:35
I have to get out of the house with a 41:36
jarring smell of the fridge 41:38
cuz like whenever I'm at home and like I 41:40
open my fridge like it's not a problem. 41:42
Like I can exist like oh whatever I'm 41:43
opening my fridge. Whenever I'm like I 41:45
have to leave right now let me just get 41:46
a water bottle. Oh my god it I literally 41:48
I have to sit down for like 20 minutes. 41:51
Is it like when you're rushing is maybe 41:53
your body's like I don't know like 41:56
pumping up your the heat in your body. 41:58
Or you're like having stress maybe. 42:01
Maybe it's 42:03
because when I'm like stressed and I'm 42:04
like rushing is when my heartburn is 42:06
here 42:08
and I don't know if it's like stress or 42:09
something that's like causing 42:12
Sure. It might be stress related. 42:13
I want to get in your fridge. 42:14
Come on in. 42:16
Cuz when when I hear another person 42:16
pregnant who's like I this didn't make 42:18
me feel well. It just reminds me of my 42:20
first trimester and I'm like I want to 42:22
help. I want to get in there. But I 42:24
don't know. 42:26
I just got to calm down. I just got to 42:27
calm down probably. 42:29
As an ally to pregnant people everywhere 42:30
as I think I've demonstrated today. If 42:32
you need me to do any smelly work around 42:34
your house, I am not discussed about it 42:35
all. But you wouldn't be able. So we 42:37
have superwoman powers. 42:39
Sure. 42:41
Okay. When we're pregnant, 42:41
you would have to identify it and then 42:42
send me in there is 42:43
our smell is like intense. 42:45
You're like Daredevil. 42:48
Yeah. Sometimes. Exactly. We're like 42:49
blind 42:51
daredevil and we're just basically like 42:52
what is that smell? And and anybody will 42:54
be like, "What are you talking about?" 42:57
Yeah. I sometimes have to like be like, 42:58
"Oh, 43:00
it's cuz I'm pregnant." Yeah. Other 43:01
people's smells bother me sometimes. My 43:03
my own smell. I'm like, "What?" I'm 43:05
like, "What is going 43:07
on?" Yep. 43:09
It sucks, Josh. It sucks. 43:10
Thank you for bearing the burden of the 43:12
human race. That sounded even creepier 43:16
than anything else I've said today. Um, 43:17
I thank you for your service. 43:19
Josh has my midyear review in about 35 43:20
minutes, so you better be nice to me. 43:23
Oh, I already did those. I already laid 43:24
down the law on that. 43:27
They're like, well, to improve, don't 43:28
get pregnant next year. 43:30
I'm just like, just put on deodorant 43:31
help. Don't get pregnant next year. I 43:33
hope not. 43:37
Looking forward. We would like to see 43:38
Is is your OB also talking to you about 43:39
Irish twins? Because mine is like, 43:41
you better be careful. 43:44
They don't use that as a medical term, 43:46
do they? No, 43:48
no, not not really. No, of course not. 43:50
My doctor's so chill. 43:53
My doctor's just like, "Just be 43:55
careful." 43:57
Really? No. I haven't had the sex talk 43:57
with my doctor. 43:59
No, I I had the birds and the bees talk. 44:00
Oh, no. I didn't. 44:02
Wait, what is what is their advice? 44:03
She basically people think when they 44:04
like after they give birth, if they're 44:06
breastfeeding or not breastfeeding or 44:08
whatever, 44:09
Yeah. 44:10
if they're producing milk that they 44:10
aren't fertile, but they are very 44:13
fertile. Very, very fertile. And people 44:15
can get pregnant right away. 44:17
So they're they're like, "Hey, 44:19
cool it." 44:21
They're like, "Just don't because 44:22
there's other ways to enjoy each other 44:25
physically." 44:26
Yeah. You know, and people do. 44:28
Have you tried heavy petting in a swan 44:29
boat on Silver Lake? 44:31
I haven't been on a swan boat in Echo 44:33
Park Lake in 44:35
You can't get on five minutes. You sure? 44:37
Mhm. Can I talk? 44:40
Josh does he have petty in Echo Park? 44:42
But I have really I have really tight 44:44
hips and so I don't think I can. They 44:45
start cramping and certain sucks. 44:47
One more, Maggie. Come on. One more. 44:49
One more. One more. 44:50
Update on the pickles. It is popular 44:52
with trans women because it's a side 44:54
effect of the drug speronolactone. 44:56
Spironolactone. 45:00
That one. That's what I said. And 45:00
according to Pink News, um it's a symbol 45:02
of trans rights. 45:04
Oh my god. 45:05
Pickles are a symbol of trans rights. 45:05
What? Who knew? 45:07
We've always been pro trans rights in 45:07
mythical kitchen and pro pickle. 45:09
I love that. 45:11
Yeah. Fun. That's amazing. 45:12
That's awesome. Thanks, Maggie. 45:13
What a trans guys grave. 45:16
Hey, Nicole Guacamole and Josh Goulash. 45:18
It's your boy Leighton. 45:22
We got to come up with one. 45:24
Congratulations, Nicole, on the 45:25
pregnancy. My wife and I are actually 45:26
expecting our first child later this 45:28
year. 45:30
And when setting up the registry, I came 45:31
across molds for breast milk popsicles 45:33
and had no idea that that existed. And 45:36
then that led me down the wrong rabbit 45:38
hole. And I learned that there are 45:40
places that serve breast milk in meals 45:42
like regions of Mongolia as well as some 45:45
avantgard chefs doing bizarre dining 45:47
experiences. 45:50
Oh, so yeah. What are your thoughts on 45:51
using human bodily fluids in cooking? 45:53
Bye. 45:57
Bye. 45:59
You guys want me to take this one or 45:59
I do you want to take this one? 46:01
I I We've cooked with breast milk 46:03
before. 46:04
I have very strong feelings. 46:04
We've cooked with breast milk before. We 46:05
made 46:07
It should be so normal. We made a 46:07
macaroni and cheese with breast milk one 46:08
time. 46:10
Whoa. And 46:11
yeah, it was fine. 46:12
Um Um What? I don't 46:13
We didn't get enough to make like the 46:17
whole cheese sauce. We didn't get like a 46:18
gallon of breast milk to make a 46:20
vegetable. 46:21
No, no, it was it was like a little bit. 46:21
So my thought is if it is no longer 46:23
viable for a baby to eat, 46:26
then yes, you can use it to cook or you 46:28
can give it to bodybuilders that'll pay 46:31
top dollar for it. 46:33
Yep. 46:34
collecting coloss like save colostrum. I 46:35
know colostrum's good. 46:38
Yeah. Yeah. 46:39
But um I think if the baby can no longer 46:39
consume it and if it's going to go to 46:42
the landfill or whatever, 46:43
it's going to go to waste. 46:44
Yeah. Give it to give it to someone who 46:45
can who can use it. Also, those popsicle 46:47
things. I like got that in like a a 46:49
breast pack or there's breast packs as 46:53
well. 46:56
But I thought that that was just for 46:56
like to put in your bottle to so it 46:58
stays cold. 47:01
Well, maybe it's dual. know if they're 47:02
actually like yum yum yum like 47:04
popsicles. 47:06
Oh, you're saying like freeze your 47:07
breast milk into breast milk. I So it'll 47:08
keep the 47:10
They give you the popsicle holders. 47:11
Is breast milk supposed to be served 47:12
cold? 47:13
No, no, no. But you're Yeah, but if you 47:14
want to keep it for a while, you freeze 47:16
it. But if you see what you're saying go 47:18
travel, you can put one of those cold 47:20
things in there. But God, what do I 47:23
know? I I haven't even had 47:25
I haven't I haven't dived into the 47:26
breastfeeding stuff really. So I don't 47:28
know yet. We don't know yet. me. We 47:31
don't know yet. 47:33
We I also diving in when you're 47:33
pregnant, 47:36
it's kind of like, well, you don't know. 47:37
I don't know. I have no I'm like I'm 47:40
doing all the research. My OB was like, 47:42
okay, 47:44
wait till you won't know until it 47:47
happens. 47:49
Oh my god. 47:50
You know, it's like a bodily fluid. 47:52
Sure. But it's like it's the food one. 47:54
You want You want a breast milk 47:56
popsicle? 47:57
A little bit, you know, but a little 47:58
saffron. The breast milk popsicle is Ian 48:00
from Smosh for sure. He has definitely 48:02
fine 48:04
talked about breast milk. 48:05
I think we just have to make a video for 48:06
the guys and just help them out. 48:07
It's weirder that we eat other animals 48:08
breast milk than it is that we would eat 48:11
human breast milk. 48:13
I agree. 48:14
That's the one point that the vegans 48:14
really have on us, you know, that we're 48:16
stealing the 48:18
there's colostrum from like cows that 48:19
they put in powder. People put in 48:21
Yeah. 48:24
If you're fine uh eating, you know, 48:25
drinking donkey milk, then you should be 48:27
fine drinking human milk. 48:29
There's like one Serbian cheese made 48:31
from donkey milk. 48:33
Peace out. 48:34
Peace out on that. 48:34
Put that. 48:35
We covered everything. Trans rice. 48:36
Donkey. Donkey cheese. 48:38
Wow. 48:40
Do you want me to? 48:42
Yeah, we do. Oh, there's an outro. 48:43
See you. No, we can do the outro. Hey, 48:46

Lyrics & Translation

[English]
I'm craving something salty and sour.
I'm craving something sweet and
chocolatey.
I want to eat cotton balls. Not the
small ones, but the real big ones.
This is a hot dog as a sandwich.
Ketchup is a smoothie.
Yeah, I put ice in my cereal. So what?
That makes no sense.
A hot dog is a sandwich.
A hot dog is a sandwich.
What?
Welcome to our podcast, A Hot Dog is a
Sandwich, the show we break down the
world's biggest food debates. I'm your
host, Josh Sher.
And I'm your host, Nicole Initi. And
today we have a very special guest
joining us for the pod. Today's guest is
one of the funniest people on the
internet, a sketch comedy powerhouse,
array of chaotic sunshine, and she is
hella pregnant. Please welcome the one
and only Smoses Amanda Lehan Kento.
Wow.
That was such a good intro.
Nicole wrote it. I just yelled at you.
Oh my god, Nicole, you did so well.
Thank you so much, Josh.
Thanks.
I do want to eat cotton balls. That's
about my only addition to this.
I would not want to eat cotton balls. I
don't want anything dry right now. Me
either. Me either.
I want like cold and like wet. It either
has to be cold and wet or hot and wet at
the same time. Nothing room temp.
No thank you.
No. No room no room temp here. No.
So today I I don't know listeners if you
don't know. I'm pregnant. Amanda's
pregnant. Josh not pregnant. Megie not
pregnant.
I have sympathy. I have sympathy
cravings right now though for both of
you. So you're welcome. My Eminem path.
It
I thought you said Eminem. That's where
my brain is at.
He said that too.
I was like Eminem.
I was like talking Eminem bath. I'm like
Eminem.
What are you talking about?
So today you Josh are going to be
actually all of us are going to be
trying Amanda's pregnancy cravings as
well as mine. And because you're in
charge here, you're going to deter
I think I should take a step back for
this one. Like if you really I don't
know that I need to insert myself in
here.
I want you to be a part of this. I want
you to decide who has the better
pregnancy cravings.
And then whoever has the better
pregnancy cravings, hear me out. I get
to be named the godfather. Yay.
That was already my
That's fine. Sure.
I accept. Amanda,
I just tell my husband. I'm like, "So,
there's this guy. Um,
she's a chef.
Everything I've heard about your
husband, I think we would be play Call
of Duty and grunt in Russian at each
other. I think I can do that." Uh,
stop.
So, what do the two of you know about
pregnancy cravings? Like what have you
guys heard like oh cuz I've like you
were saying before the podcast if you're
craving something like salty that means
your body needs it. Do you guys agree
with that mentality or
I I do I will say like earlier on in my
pregnancy I was craving um dairy like a
like a maniac like Greek yogurt. I still
eat Greek yogurt every day but like milk
Greek yogurt cheese. I would dream about
it.
And I brought up to my friend and she's
like yeah you need more calcium.
Like you're growing baby's bones right
now. I think it was at like 12 weeks or
something. Really?
So now I take like 1,000 milligs of
calcium every night.
Excellent.
And didn't realize that until my body
was like that's what you need.
That's incredible.
Oh, that's what I believe.
That's funny. I I always I always
assumed pregnancy cravings were like
weird and gross, right? That's that's
the that's the stereotype. Peanut butter
and pickles. That became a real thing.
This just looks like a bunch of
delicious food I want to eat.
Um what does it mean if my body
constantly craves carnneada burritos?
What do you think I'm lacking?
I don't
I was going to say empathy, but you said
you're an empath, so I don't know if
that's true.
Empathy. Um I don't know. We all have
that college kid in us. It sounds
delicious.
But if you are craving like dirt,
that's a real pah.
That's a real thing that you are
missing. And I don't know what it is.
I don't know what it is either, but I've
heard people like they they like dog
food.
They like eat the they like eat things
that are not made for human consumption.
Yeah.
Yeah. Well, I remember Shayen Woodley
talking about um she was in Zimbabwe and
a Zimbabwean cab driver told her that it
was healthy to eat clay, so she started
eating clay, but I think it more plays
to what you were talking about of people
being iron deficient and they're being
iron.
So, did she eat clay?
Yeah. Yeah. I think she started selling
clay via goop or something as well.
Oh, nice. So cute.
Well, we had um Simone on last meals and
she had edible clay as part of her last
meal and then she's like, "Oh, I've been
vegan for the last 5 years." And it's
like I I think it's an iron deficiency.
Tested
since I clay.
I ate it with it. It was not terrible.
It's kind of like fine.
You ever You ever have a Neco wafer?
Yeah. Yeah.
I'm not 90 years old, so no.
Neco wafers are closer to clay than they
are to most
powdery. They're like powdery dust,
but very hard.
It's kind of like how I feel about
mering. And I know a lot of people don't
agree with me, but like I don't like
hardened mering. It feels like dust to
me. I love hardened.
Have either of you gone down like uh
like some of the weird more alt paths of
like pregnancy nutrition? You know, like
do you have any weird gurus that you
follow that aren't backed by science?
Like odd doulas on the internet?
I definitely follow some odd doulas on
the internet.
Like you're like drinking lavender
tinctures and stuff like that or I don't
know like
No, I'm not drinking lavender. I am
drinking like chrysanthemum tea with
honey, but I don't think I was told
though that you shouldn't have chamomile
and um
herbal teas. Yeah, herbal te's cuz they
make you like crampy.
Yeah, no herbal te. But I I I will say
my Instagram will not let me rest. I
just want to see funny things.
And it is only doulas. It is only
births.
Yeah.
It's only like I tore I'm like it's only
all these things where
I tore here's my story. Yeah. Here's my
story. And it's like hey when you're
there make sure you advocate for
yourself. But I'm like, "Okay, I get
that." But like, can I just watch
someone like, you know, falling into the
water by accident?
Yeah.
So, I guess there's doulas that I follow
that give me most of them are pretty
sweet. I don't know.
I'll be on Birth.
I'm using my doctor solely and he's a
nice guy. So,
yeah, I'm using I'm using my doc and
like some friends.
Yeah.
That will go I mean, do you really want
to hear this?
And I go, yeah, I do. I do. I do. What
have you two compared notes on like your
diets? Because I know there's so many
things. I'm gonna talk from like the
ignorant like sis male perspective here.
Good. Um,
someone needs to. But no, I I just hear
of all the things that pregnant people
aren't supposed to eat and it seems like
the list gets longer and longer as time
goes on.
Um, what are the things that you've like
decided to completely avoid? And what
are the things that you're like, I can
have some baloney?
I'll tell you what I've started. So, I
have completely nixed high mercury fish
from my diet. So, no tuna, no shark, no
um swordfish. Like no tuna salad
sandwiches. Like when I go get sushi,
like I'm not going to get like a spicy
tuna crispy rice.
Um I don't have any deli meats
whatsoever.
Yep.
Nothing from the deli period. Like I
like will I get a deli salad? Like Yeah,
like a like a chicken salad from the
deli. I'll do that. But like I won't get
like something sliced off of like the
machine is a nogo.
Once you hear about lististeria, you're
like no.
Yeah. No. Um what else? Um my steaks. I
still do a medium, sometimes medium
rare.
I am with you 100%. I do that, too. I'm
like a medium medium rare,
right?
And it's okay,
right? Um I do no herbal teas. I just
said that. What else do I do? Um I try I
try to stay away from raw seafood,
but cooked seafood, love it. Had some a
few days ago whenever we were at VidCon
and it was delicious.
It's wild because seafood's like my
favorite food. And
there are two things that's my favorite
food and I just couldn't do it during
this pregnancy is literally fish and
fried chicken. I like
Oh wow. No fried chicken.
Couldn't touch it.
What's wrong with fried chicken?
It's my favorite food, but I couldn't
touch it during my whole pregnancy. Oh
my goodness.
I don't know. It made me sicky.
Okay. Oh, it wasn't Somebody told you no
fried chicken. It was your own.
No one told me that, but someone did
tell me that. I didn't realize. They
were like, "Oh, stay away from tiramisu,
creme brulee, and Caesar dressing
cuz there's uncooked eggs." And I'm
like,
"Right, okay."
Tiramisu.
Yeah. Tiramisu has uncooked eggs
sometimes.
What the hell are the uncooked eggs in
tiramisu?
The mascar pone filling.
Yeah.
What?
What?
That's not uncooked eggs and masarone
filling.
Yeah. Yeah. The egg yolks are mixed with
the sugar and then they put the mascar.
Isn't it heated?
Sometimes some people not.
Here's the thing. That was something
that I was kind of like I could and I I
just I just ended up avoiding it.
Fair fair. I eat runny eggs sometimes.
I think like they're good. So, it's
fine.
A lot of the foods you shouldn't eat
when you're pregnant are also just foods
that you shouldn't eat when you're not
pregnant if you really want to avoid
food born illness, right? Like that's
the general
I will say deli meat. I was a little bit
like, huh, I love a turkey sandwich.
Yeah. But I'm also just like, huh,
lististeria.
But there there are a ton like I used to
write a lot about food safety and there
are so many lististeria outbreaks in
deli meats because they're just sealed
in package and they're wet as hell. They
sit there. But I've always been shocked
that bagged salad has not been on the
list. Did anybody tell you not to eat
bagged salad?
No one told me that. But I I'm very
fearful of bagged salad and lettuce in
general cuz I've never been sicker until
like I had bad spinach one time.
So I wash.
Someone died from spinach in my hometown
at the at the sue plantation.
Eoli and the spinach. Yeah. Poor
guy.
And when things aren't cooked like
that's where even when you're talking
about like a medium like a medium steak,
right? medium steak is 140 145.
Uh like thank you. Um but temperature of
like
instakill temperature pasteurization
temperature is generally what like 140
but held over time.
So if you have that like medium steak,
the risks are very very low.
Even compared to a rare steak that's 120
where the ecoli can still survive stuff
like that. So for me a lot of that stuff
makes sense. But I've always been
fascinated by like the raw produce
thing,
you know, or if like
it's a thing. Yeah.
You just got to wash it really well. I
don't use bag sal. I've never been a bag
salad person either.
Crushing it doesn't actually do that
much cuz the only way to kill bacteria
is again I told you I have a lot of
opinions and I want pregnant people
should eat.
How do you kill bacteria on lettuce?
On lettuce.
Cook it.
I'm not cooking lettuce. My ass off.
No, I mean like washing it does do
something. But as far as like actually
being safe, it seems like lettuce
uh
too late for me. But um
the damage has been done.
The damage is done. This baby's cooked.
Like literally my OB was like, "So your
baby's just kind of getting fat at this
point." And I was like, "Oh, so I I can
eat whatever I want, right?"
Kind of.
I have another question about pregnancy.
So, you know how grass-fed grass-fed
cows, right? They generally will be like
grass-fed grain finished cuz like you
feed it on grass to develop all the
muscular whatever, but then you want a
little bit of fat on a little bit of fat
on the cow as it gets to slaughter.
Are you asking?
And you feed it on grains. Is that the
same with pregnancy where it's like,
"All right,
you eat healthy. brain finished couch.
Definitely. That's exactly what I'm
asking.
You like eat healthy to nurse a baby,
but then in like the last two weeks,
it's like, all right,
you were doing well, John.
Let's beef it up, you know.
No, I Yes, I actually I I think that I
don't know. My OB just kind of She's not
super intense about what I'm eating.
Mine neither.
She like does not ask me what I'm
eating.
Yeah, my doctor doesn't
She just straight up ask me about
working out. Yeah,
like
more like how active are you?
Not like are you working out? Not like
hey what's your bench at? Three rep max,
not one rep.
She's like how active are you?
Okay, good. That's good.
Just to like figure out the position of
the baby.
Right. Sure. Sure.
Cuz right now like you for you it
doesn't matter what the position is yet.
For me
it does.
Yeah. Are you sitting backwards on a
couch yet?
We got to get you backwards on a couch.
No, I haven't sit backwards on a couch
yet.
We're going to have you sit backwards. I
have another question about pregnancy.
What's up? I love this
position. I love how you were talking
about how Shane will be like like are
you comfortable with me asking how you
are? And I'm just like so grass-fed cows
right before they slaughter.
We're all animals. We're all
Would we be
Well, no, no, no. I'm asking like
you're talking about like like loading
the baby for for birth, right? Like
positioning it cuz you want it to come
out head first, not feet first.
Feet first like a big bad
head first. Head facing spine.
Head facing spine. I never thought about
that.
Cuz the facing head facing spine. Yeah,
you have a head facing spine.
It's fine. And so you can do things to
manipulate the position of your baby.
There's like things that like help you
the baby flip.
Not everybody, but and if you can't do
it, then your OB will try to help you.
Did you ever play those those little
games where it's like water and there's
like a little ball that drops through
the water and you have to like adjust it
to get it to land on a platform? It's
like that but with your body, but like
with amniotic fluid instead of water.
Exactly.
Yeah. But the ball's like really big.
Yeah. Like really and like hard like
kicking at you, fighting back, you know?
Oh, yeah.
That's why. Is there a position most
babies prefer to be in in the womb?
Like they're like
prefer well like where they're
comfortable.
Yeah. Yeah.
They change throughout. So like they'll
essentially in your second trimester,
they're kind of doing their own.
They're swimming around. They're
touching they're touching their feet.
They're kind of like doing hiccups. Not
actual hiccups. They call the going up
and down hiccups. and they're kind of
just I I think but at a certain time and
I don't know what triggers them to do
it. They are like, "Oh, I gotta go down
there. I got to put my head down."
Oh, they know.
They know. But it does help if you're in
a if you kind of put your body in
specific positions.
Sure. Sure. Sure.
Like you want your you want your butt to
be a little higher than your knees
often.
Does that make sense?
Yeah. Yeah. cuz now I'm imagining
you don't want to be like crouched the
baby's going to be like
that's so fun. Thank you for educating
me.
I love the question. I think some people
get a little like freaked out like I
don't know about you but when I go to
like check out of the grocery store
whatever it's usually men who go oh my
god you're expecting like when you know
like and I never find it an issue. I I
like it cuz I'm like I'm pretty pregnant
at this point
but there are a lot of people who are
like
I don't want to ask. I can't believe
that person asked you when I
Right. Right. Right.
That's weird.
I don't really mind.
Um I don't know. I'm like I don't look
that pregnant right now.
So I'm still in that in between where
people are like they don't know how to
approach me.
So some people that know me, they're
like, "Oh my god, you're pregnant. Oh my
god, so crazy." And some people they
just look
Yes.
Yeah.
And it's like what? Whatever. Okay.
Thanks for looking. So Julia has
recently put a moratorium on me going up
to people and asking if they're a
celebrity that I think they are because
I'm 0 for three.
Don't do that.
Yeah. So I've done that a couple times.
But the point is
the point is uh the fear of going up to
somebody and going, "Oh my god, when are
you due?" And them being like, "I'm not
pregnant."
That would put me off of asking anybody
that ever. And I've never done that. But
knowing,
it's very scary. I I get it. It's very
scary. But when you are on the other
side of it, when you are really pregnant
and like you might need help.
Yeah.
To like get your
get your stuff to the car, you're kind
of like,
"Please help me."
I am.
And I really thought Gary Senise was at
my gym.
Who's that?
Gary Senise. Uh, Lieutenant Dan.
I don't know who the Yeah. No, he
wasn't. It wasn't. It was a guy that
looked like Gary Senise. I said, "Hey,
Gary Senise." And he said, "What?" And I
said, "I'm so sorry. Are you Gary
Senise?" And he said, "No, my name is
Daniel." And I said, "Oh, that's all
right." And then I was like, well, have
a hey, have a you have a great workout.
That's so awkward.
Are you a fan of Gary Senise or anyway?
So I I would be so scared of that, but
we need a hand signal for pregnant women
to be like, I need help.
It's normally like this.
Honestly, I think that the signal
the rubbing of the stomach.
Yeah.
Yeah. The hand on the the hand and like
the arm on the belly is
I think I think probably don't I think
actually don't ask anyone if they're
pregnant unless they're doing the
Buddha. People at work are saying that
I'm like uh talking to my crystal ball.
Like I'm just like I'm just like seeing
the future.
That's me like postChinese buffet though
where I'm just sitting there just kind
of like
Exactly. So anyone could actually
potentially.
You know what? Don't listen to my advice
at all. What we are going to do is eat
some stuff cuz I'm hungry. Are you guys
Are you pregnant? No. I went to the
Mongolian noodle station twice.
Okay. So I thought it'd be nice if we
started with both of our cravings right
now, which is true fru. Wait, this is on
both your list? Hell yeah. This is on my
non-pregant list.
So I as So I asked him and I said like,
"Give me your list." And then I saw that
we had the same thing and I'm like, "Oh
my god, this is incredible." True
fruits. There's literally they're
literally chocolate covered fruits.
Could we make this at home? Yeah. Do I
want to? Absolutely never. I don't ever
want to do that.
No, because there's peanut butter in
this
and and the banana ones are actually my
favorite. I started with the raspberries
and felt really good about it, but then
I moved to the bananas.
I've only had the banana. Raspberries
are great.
The raspberries are my favorite, but
this is a close second.
Trufu Mhm.
is incredible.
What a lovely treat. What is it about
trufu that that really uh speaks to you
and and your baby?
Well, I don't know. My sister sent it to
me and I was like, what is this? It
feels like you're kind of you can
indulge. So, you can have 10 and be like
fruit fine,
right? It feels like you can indulge and
I don't feel like crap after.
Like eating a lot of ice cream for me is
fun in the moment and then I kind of die
a little bit.
Exactly. This is like my alternative to
ice cream as well.
It makes me feel it makes me feel like
I'm making a better decision
for me and my baby. So
that that feeling of guilt is is
interesting because I think so many
people have they already have food
guilt,
right? You eat a bunch of ice cream,
feel bad. But like has that changed for
you like being pregnant?
Mhm. man,
for me, very much so. Especially like
being a woman in the entertainment
industry
is there. You're so scrutinized about
your weight all the time.
All the time.
And also this whole idea of like
bouncing back. I think for me, I really
enjoyed especially in my second
trimester when my appetite cuz the first
was really rough
really
second trimester when I had a full
appetite. I was like food is so good. It
nourishes your body. It's so delicious.
You can have such a good time with it.
And it was like,
you can go two different ways, but I
felt like I was like, I enjoy food. It's
keeping me alive. It's keeping this baby
alive.
And seeing it that way, it was like, I'm
going to let myself eat food,
right?
Like, eat food.
Absolutely.
And your body is very intuitive. Like,
if you're craving something,
you need it. You need fruit. The one
thing I've constantly told myself is I'm
going to honor my cravings because it's
not just me, right? There's another
thing going on in there.
So, it's I think it's vital to not it's
not indulging, it's honoring your body
and listening to what it's saying and
saying, "Okay, this is what you want
right now. Listen to it."
Agreed.
I'm inspired to honor my body after
this.
Yeah, you should. No, I mean I mean
honestly like I you know uh try to like
eat healthy, whatever, but I know I do
have that like
that instinct of like self shame,
you know, but I also know that like
transferring that instinct to somebody
else is also terrible. And like
I don't know, you know, if you read to
your if you read to your baby in the
womb or you play classical music, they
turn out more smarter. I think I heard
someone say that commercial.
My husband plays techno. My husband
plays techno. Yeah,
she's a big fan of Acon. She likes smack
that. Smack that.
So good. What is there like does your
baby turn out more differently if you
eat more different foods?
I mean, I don't know.
Don't I couldn't tell you. I don't know.
But I will say like nourish your body
and it it has made me go even, you know,
when I have the baby, I'm going to be
like
there's no point sitting there just like
thinking and feeling guilty about the
thing you just ate. It's done.
It's done.
You did it. Like I don't know. I'm at
this point where it's like stay active.
Eat what you need to eat
and uh you're nourishing your body and
have some vegetables. Like have some
vegetables, have some fruit, but also,
you know, live your life a little bit.
You don't have to go ham.
You don't have to go ham. You can't even
eat ham.
Actually, don't eat the ham.
Yeah. Don't eat ham.
Yeah. So, let's start with some of
yours. Do you want to explain what what
we have here? Do you want me to explain
what we have here?
I for Yeah.
Okay. So, the first thing that I saw was
banana bread with slabs of butter.
Yeah. Now I understand this thoroughly
because butter is a very important food
that I am eating as well.
I love butter.
I have been consuming so much butter.
Yep.
In so many different forms.
Yep. Cuz it it feels so Also, my husband
loves butter so much. And I used to be
like that's way too much butter, honey.
And now I'm like butter.
Banana bread.
Also bread.
Just bread in general.
Uhhuh.
Yeah. I'm a big PB&J girl right now. Oh,
PB&J.
PB&J.
I What I do is I make a PB&J with sea
salt.
And it's so sexy.
Oh my god. Toast. I was having toast
with jelly and a little bit of peanut
butter
today
with my decaf iced coffee and it was
delicious. I am having caffeine.
I am having caffeine.
But like a little bit.
I have a coffee a day. I have an
espresso a day and I'm happy with it.
And I could have four, but I choose to
only have one. Isn't that so delicious?
I want to be pregnant, too.
Oh, you made a sandwich. Yeah, it's like
we all eat it differently. I love this.
Josh made a sandwich. Amanda slathered
the butter. And I just I just bit right
into the slab.
Now it's like a cake.
Well, you should know that when your
partner is pregnant, you the other
partner eats pretty much what?
They have no
They have no choice. Have either of your
partners gone sober?
No.
No. He went
Sorry, didn't mean to bring.
No, not at all. He went sober while we
were trying to get pregnant. So like no
alcohol, no cigarettes. He was eating
really healthy, working out a lot.
And then once he found he's like, "All
right, time to party."
That's ex same thing. Now he's like,
"Frozen pizza?" Yeah.
I forgot to mention frozen pizza. Or
maybe I had it.
Frozen pizza. I don't know what or why.
Oh my gosh. It's okay.
I love frozen pizza.
But frozen over like delivery.
Delivery is just going to break the bank
in LA. Let's be real. A 10 in is like
$24.
Honestly, Whole Foods frozen pizza is so
good. And I know that's wild.
Underrated. Underrated.
So good.
Underrated.
You enjoy that.
This is so good.
This pregnancy has been sponsored by
DeJouro, our new rising croissant crust
pizza.
All right. Totally.
You enjoy that. And I'm going to explain
the next one. So, ube ice cream was on
your list. Ube is a purple yam found in
the Philippines.
Yep.
Um, I got you two kinds.
You're amazing.
I wanted you to try the boba one. And
then we also have the ube with
macakapuno, which is co young coconut,
right, Josh? Oh, sorry. It's pretty
melted. Sorry about that.
Oh, wow. Watch out for that computer.
But it's fine.
Um, I'm going to eat I'm going to eat
the coconut one because why not? Oh my
god, it's so melted. I'm so sorry.
Oh my god.
Don't be sorry. Oh my god.
I like it. It gets in your bloodstream
faster when it's melted.
Mhm.
Oh.
What is it about ube you love so much?
It's not super sweet.
Oh, fair.
I don't like super sweet.
Okay, good.
Um, and also like I don't know. It's
It's also like What is I I I like
different flavors for ice cream. Okay. I
love lavender, earl grey,
like rose, saffron.
Beautiful.
Um,
have you been to Mashi Malone?
Of course. It's my favorite ice cream
place.
Nice.
Mhm.
Persian ice cream all day.
I was just going to mention that Mashi
Malones is my favorite ice cream place.
Persian ice cream. What did I have
there, though? Oh, cucumber.
Yeah.
Yes. Cuz it's not like a sorbet.
God, it's not like light and fresh. No,
it's like heavy cream cucumber. It's
awesome.
It's delicious. You and I have the ex
I've never met anybody with the exact
same taste of ice cream as
me. I too because um I rarely know
anyone either.
Yeah. No, I once ruined an entire office
pizza party or not pizza party, ice
cream party. I once ruined an entire
office ice cream party because the only
flavors I got were uh rose and and
lavender.
In fairness, I got it.
It was saffron rose. I'm team saffron
rose. Um but it was because I was trying
to break the world record for most ice
cream scoops in a single cone. So, I
need a lot of ice cream. And I was like,
"Everyone's gonna love the lavender and
rose that I picked out." And everyone
was like, "This tastes like perfume."
Yeah,
people. So, I brought my mom and sister
to Mash Malones and they were like,
"It's just too It's too flowery." And
I'm like, I
that's the point. It's supposed to be
good.
So, so that's So, like ube ube is one of
my faves.
Really, really good. Um,
it's delicious. But yeah, that's the
kind of ice cream that I want. Also,
it's very refreshing.
Yeah.
But no, not a lot of people enjoy it.
That's fun. It's fun to see a part of
yourself in another person. I'm glad you
guys are bonding.
No. Oh my god.
Oh my god. Josh,
it's just the carne sada burrito sitting
there.
And then finally, we have straight up
broth.
Yep. Chicken broth. We got to do it.
I'm so sorry that you guys have this.
I'm sorry if it's not that warm.
That's okay.
But um I love this because I love
sipping on broth, too.
I love what I love to do is
I love to walk around with like a secret
in my cup. Everyone thinks it's coffee.
Nope.
It's not coffee.
It's broth.
It's broth.
Wait, so you've been you've been doing
broth?
I've been I I've been doing this before.
Like I used to I've been doing this for
years.
Walking around with a cup of broth is
like my little secret.
For most people, that's like a little
bit of scotch, you know, in their cup.
But no, you're you're just broth.
Yes. We love the chicken broth. Well, my
husband loves to like cook whole
chickens and then he'll make broth and
then freeze it. Well, bless you.
And I just would heat it up
and drink it. Also, I don't know if you
felt like sick in your first trimester.
I didn't have a single bout of morning
sickness. I never threw up. I was never
nauseous. I don't know what was going
on, but I'm actually nauseous like
around now, which sucks.
That's okay. That's okay. That kind of
makes sense. I think it's probably the
start of your heartburn or something.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my god. If I could
have Tums as one of my items here, it
would be Tums.
Oh, Pepsidac is my
It's Pepsidac is my baby. That is
morning and night, honey. Oh my gosh.
The amount of Tums I consume should be
illegal.
That That's why that's why you're
probably not having much of not an
appetite, but like probably why you're
feeling a little
nauseous. Yeah. In the morning,
but like my first my first trimester
tough.
I could only have fruit and maybe some
broth. No way.
Saltines only to get out of bed.
Couldn't even get out of bed.
I I know I'm a rare case and I know a
lot of people do have more I think I
think 80% of women experience morning
sickness in some degree.
It's like all day sickness. But it's not
you're not thr I mean there's a lot of
people who throw up but I I was not I
just felt car sick 24/7.
Oh that's almost worse cuz I feel like
when you vomit it like relieves you you
know but you never get that full like
sense of relief.
I know. And when I found out I was
pregnant I was in um a potato costume
for like a week at Smosh.
No way.
Yes. Yes I was. And I was like I want to
be dead.
But I had a big slab of butter right
here on the potato costume. That's
incredible.
Shooting for Spud Hut. So, I would just
rub the butter
and I was just like,
"I love you butter."
And people would make jokes. They're
like, "Oh my god, you look pregnant."
And I was like, "No, I don't.
No, I don't. No, I don't. That's so
rude.
Shut up. Shut up."
Okay. All three of yours were delicious.
I must say that banana bread with the
slab of butter really sent me.
I like the the ube ice cream because
that is also one of my favorite flavors,
but I don't know. It feels like um feel
like you're going to give birth to a
little foodie baby. Oh, yeah. You know,
little Anthony Bourdain in there.
You ready?
Minus the addiction issues.
You ready for a hard pivot, guys?
Did a lot of heroin. Yeah. Go ahead.
Hard pivot. Okay. So, the first thing I
want you guys to try, I don't know why
my body craves Vegemite.
Hell yes.
Whoa, this is a hard pivot.
So, this morning alone, I had two
Vegemite toast. This is about to be my
third one. It's toast.
What is butter? I'll tell you right now.
It's toast with butter and veg. I want
you guys to have I cut into little
fours. Um,
so cute.
Thank you so much.
Someone's going to be Can I ask about
the cook on this toast? Was that
It's a little hard. Yeah, it's hard.
I like it. It's hoard.
I like it. I like a hoorde.
It's a hoorde toast.
I like a hoard toast.
Um, Vegemite is a yeast extract and it's
like the most imagine soy sauce that has
been cooked down for like 40 hours
and then they throw in a little bit of
salt and then a little bit more salt and
then like a few like uh what is it
called? Nutritional yeast flakes in it.
Okay.
I don't know why I'm obsessed with this.
I love Vegemite.
You love Vegemite? Oh my god.
Okay. It just tastes like salted butter.
Right. Right.
There's almost this cheesiness that kind
of washes over you.
Cheese washing over me.
Yum. Yum. Yum.
Oh, it means a lot to me that you guys
are eating this.
This is like scratching like a a
psychobiological itch that you have.
Oh my god. You don't even know like how
it like I would if I could eat it with a
spoon. I I can't do that cuz I'll get
sick. But if I could just eat it with a
spoon like Nutella, I would.
Oh, Nutella. Don't even get me started
on
And apparently this is ve uh Vegemite is
very high in folic acid, which I didn't
know. I had no idea. Good or bad?
Very good for pregnant.
Very good for Yeah. You take it in your
prenatal.
Yeah. Yeah. So I had no idea. I'm like,
"Oh my god, there's so much there's so
much folic acid in this." Hell yeah. So,
I've just been mainlining folic acid.
Is that Do you like it?
It's like a deep salt.
It's a deep savory salty flavor with the
butter and like toast. Imagine it like a
little bit warmer. Oh my god.
I actually do really like it. It kind of
Yeah, it's like
It does taste like soy sauce, but like I
don't know. It feels like it's deep.
Yeah, deep is the right way to explain.
It's deep flavor.
I like the toast, too. Honestly, that's
how I toast my toast.
Very good. No, that that was not me
complaining about the toast, but I was
literally wondering if your body was
like craving slightly burnt foods.
No,
you know,
I just like a toast. I just like
toast
everything now. I'm like, it's a clue.
So now,
yeah, you're on a mission to
investigate.
What is in cornflakes
book pregnancy?
Pregnancy by Josh
for men.
So this next thing is chocolate with
cornflakes in it. So
Levi Sport.
Yeah, I've actually never had the Ritter
Sport one. I've been like really
enjoying the um the Trader Joe's one.
M Oh my god.
There's something about it, baby. The
crunchy and the milkiness.
They marry together and they make the
most delicious chocolate eat. I don't
eat chocolate like this.
That is deep. I will say I eat that
before
Mhm.
pregnancy.
Mhm.
I love chocolate. I love I love having
chocolate bars in the house. That's like
my favorite thing cuz after dinner you
just want a little
a little bit little something.
Mhm. I like dark chocolate but I never I
never reach for milk chocolate but milk
chocolate and corn flakes.
Yum.
Heaven scent.
Delicious.
Also cornflake ice cream.
Yeah.
Yeah. I agree with you.
Mhm.
I need a break.
Wow.
It's the savory. It's the savoriness in
the ice cream. You like savoriness and
ice cream. It's like ube.
You said that's just like a plant
and the lavender floralness too.
Yeah. Funny.
That's delish.
And then the piece to
Oh, no. Well, there's Taco Bell. I'm not
a doctor,
but
I feel like Taco Bell can't be
ostensibly like nothing at Taco Bell can
be ostensibly good for a baby debate.
Well, I've been eating three of the
view.
A lot of a lot of pregnant people love
like crave fast food like
is a lot of craving calorie density cuz
like like the the amount of butter on
the banana bread.
It might be. It might be. Well, also
like I don't know about you, but during
my first trimester, I was so lazy. I'm
like, I'm not cooking. What the f? I'm
not putting my body through standing up
and shaking a pan.
So, I barely cooked at home. Taco Bell
was my savior. Like when I was driving
home from work cuz I have like a long
commute home. I live in West LA. So,
from Burbank to West LA, it's like kind
of annoying.
I would stop at any Taco Bell if I would
see one. I just like I was like, you
save my life. So, in here, I have the
following, which is my order every
single time. Um, it's a cheesy gordita
crunch and then a cheesy double beef
burrito, no rice, add potatoes, and then
about 12 fire sauces.
The cheesy double beef burrito, no rice
potatoes. That That is a classic. Yeah,
I really do.
If I eat that right now, I'm going to
vomit.
That's where you're at right now.
I'll take one for the team.
I'll take one for the team. Josh, try
the burrito. Let me tell you right now,
it is so
You want a burrito?
Yeah, I got to try a little bit. I will
say I've had Taco Bell twice in my life.
I'm not kidding. Not because I I spin on
fast food, but just Taco Bell
specifically. I grew up with like Burger
King and Wendy's.
So, I got one. I got to rip it in half.
Yeah. Rip this in half. Don't forget the
fire sauces, guys. Don't forget the fire
sauses.
Go.
Wow.
Josh, give her a fire sauce.
I'm going
I want a how-to book on eating food
while you're pregnant written by Josh.
I think that'd be so fun.
You got to rip this really fast. 1 2 3
go. I'm donating all my proceeds to
Pregnant Women International.
Brave.
Okay. What's in this puppy?
So, it's cheese, sour cream, fiesta
strips,
and double beef. And then instead of the
rice, I put potatoes in it. You guys, it
is so good.
It is so good.
Mhm.
Watching you guys eat it means a lot to
me. Like, watch I don't know. I don't
think you guys understand. Watching you
two eat my pregnancy cravings has
unlocked a a part of my heart that I
didn't think was possible.
Doesn't it feel good? Like when you guys
ate that much butter.
I was really really grateful. It made me
feel so seen.
Yeah. I feel seen very sweet.
Okay. This is actually really good.
Enjoy my love. Enjoy.
I feel like I can now empathize with
both of your babies. I feel in some way
I am your baby. Yeah.
That's good. You know
that's also the second part of your
book. This is so creepy.
Be the baby. Why is that creepy?
What's this hidden chapter in this book?
I am your baby and it's just a picture
of you surrounded by food
in a wildly upsetting costume. I'm not
going to say what it is, but it is
wildly upsetting.
He's been in a diaper more than once.
I love it. I love it.
You and a very specific subset of people
on TikTok really love it.
Mhm. Mhm.
I need you to tell me, Josh, my friend.
I need to tell me, Josh, who had the
best pregnancy cravings? And if you can
be honest.
Oh, yeah. I I this is such a stupid
thing to rank.
I will say
that means a lot.
It means a lot. It means a lot to me.
I I I like the Vegemite on toast. To me,
that's like that's hyper specific. It's
ultra delicious. Um I love the corn
flakes and the chocolate. That's fun.
But I think as far as like storytelling
goes as far as utter insanity of certain
butter portions, and I mean that in a
good way. Like I actually really love
what you said about, you know, your body
like craving nutrition, honoring those
cravings. Food is fuel for you, you
know, and um whatever are baby babies
are technically parasites by definition.
Sure.
And whatever's growing inside you, but
that's the end of your book.
Parasites, question mark.
We're selling feweries.
I got to give the win to Amanda on this
one.
I did not think that you would give the
win to me cuz when you asked about my
cravings, I will say every time I tell
people my cravings, they're like, "Oh,
okay." They're not like, "That's not
crazy." And I was like, "Yeah, okay.
What are you expecting?"
But it's what I'm craving. I'm like
craving the nutrientrich.
Wow. So, I'm honored.
Welld deserved. I'm honored. But this is
I'm honored that you're going to name
your baby after me.
Uh-huh.
All right, Nicole and Amanda, we've
heard what you and I have to say. Now,
it's time to find out what other wacky
ideas are rattling out there in the
universe. Time for a little segment.
Maybe we call
opinions are like casserles.
Just a second. Weird.
Stop that segment weird.
Listen, my voice my voice is cracked. We
were just We were at the VidCon and we
were yelling at a lot of people,
screaming,
screaming.
People were screaming at us. People are
screaming at us. They're like, "What are
you doing here? You're too pregnant."
And I was like, "No."
Um, people were screaming at us because
we played Family Feud against a group of
YouTubers called Crew.
And um, turns out with a K.
They had about 15 times the amount of
fans that we did and and a lot of them
tended to be young, which is great. We
love the new generation. But um they
were actively booing us when we got
answers right and cheering when we got
answers right.
Incredible. It was incredible.
It made me feel so good. It was like
I felt evil. I felt you feel good.
I went like this at one point. I was
like,
isn't that so fun when all the fans boo
you?
We had a 300 point lead at some point in
Family Feud. I just want to go, are
these your heroes? Are you not
entertained?
Uh, we ended up losing it. It was really
fun though, but um screaming to the
kids. Uh, Maggie, should we get to that
first opinion?
Yeah,
let's do it.
Hi, Josh and Nicole
and Amanda.
My opinion is that
pickles dipped in honey
are so good. And apparently it's a
pregnancy craving, but
I'm not pregnant and I've never been
pregnant. But yeah, it's very good. I
recommend it.
Wow. Okay. Let's say you
I say it sounds like salty and sweet. I
guess that could work. It to me it feels
so like liquid on liquid.
Yeah. I don't know how you would dip it
in honey. You know what I mean? Like
it's not porous enough to pick it up.
Kind of sloth off the wet,
right? Hear me out. Bread and butter
pickles. Ever heard of them? That's what
I was going to say.
Why don't you just do that?
Actually, wait. I I would have a
sandwich with like honey hot chicken
with pickles.
Okay, that sounds good.
That sounds delicious.
Actually, is adding a ton of honey to a
pickle brine. Sounds really nice.
Yeah,
there's the honey mustard pickles, the
the famous ones that are at the farmer
and Kaylin and Kaylin.
I've not had those great.
Oh, you got to go to the farmers market
and get a pickle flight. They have like
you can choose from five different
pickles.
I love pickles.
And they're very creative.
Okay. I I would love someone who's more
knowledgeable on this to expound on it,
but there's got to be some sort of link
between pickles and hormones, right?
Because pickles and pregnancy cravings
are a huge thing. I don't know how many
trans people you've talked to, but I've
talked to a lot who when they transition
say they crave pickles.
No way.
What? Maybe it's the vine.
I think this is supportive and not
offensive. Uh I just think it's really
cool. But like I would love to learn
more about the link between pickles and
hormone shift,
you know? I love that too. So your
second book was when coming when is it
coming out?
Pickles and hormones the sharer story.
But I will say I I loved I love pickles
before pregnancy and I love them during.
I don't know what it is. I also hear
that pickles also spark your appetite.
Like I don't know if it's the vinegar or
fermentation salt. Like there's
gen I mean the the the world over has
eaten pickles for for millennia.
Yeah. I ate a pickle a day.
Yeah. Me too. I had a pickle. Ate a
Bubbies pickle a day.
Hell yeah.
Bubbies.
I think that's my like is that it a
probiotic at that point? A prebiotic?
Yeah, Bubbies is certainly lacto
fermented. Yeah.
Yeah, pretty much.
That's that's that's my med that's my
medicine.
Anyone pregnant people and trans people,
chime in in the chat about your love
love or hatred of pickles.
This is I've never
I don't have hard data on this. This is
all anecdotal.
I've never heard of the link from of
trans people and pickles.
You want to do some googling on that?
I would love to hear more about that.
It might have been like two trans people
and I'm like that's a trend.
Uh,
but with Honey. Yeah,
I'm in.
Yeah.
Hey guys, this is Emily. I'm from
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Lancaster.
And I'm calling because I want to know
your opinion that I am excited and
expecting my fourth child. And one of
the first things that always happens to
me when I'm pregnant is my smell
gets intensified dramatically. Mhm.
Uh like to the point where it's
overwhelming sometimes. So my thing is
that normally
um like one of my favorite things is
pepperoni pizza, but when I'm pregnant,
I can't take the pepperoni. It's just
like too overpowering and I always
choose cheese.
So I'm wondering if you guys have
anything that's one of your favorite
foods, but if it was
more intense, it would turn in to one of
the worst things. So thanks. Love
listening to you guys. See you. Yeah,
100%. It's It was impossible for me to
go in like our trash room.
I also walked by a neighbor and they
just put out fresh manure
and I think I was seven weeks and had it
was a very bad time. It was a very bad
moment. And I was just mentioning to you
oregano and thyme, right? Um can't can't
smell it.
Can't do it. Can't do it.
Can't do it.
You feel that?
Um yeah. The smell of my fridge has been
wreaking havoc on me for the past 3
weeks.
It doesn't matter. Like I've cleaned it.
My husband's cleaned it. Like, it
doesn't matter. It's just the fridge.
Something's in there.
No, I've I've I've purged it. I've
purged it.
You got a demon in there.
I've scrubbed it.
No, it might not be something bad. It
might be something in there that smells
That's fine.
I don't know. But whenever It's weird
whenever I like am rushing out of the
house
and I open my fridge, I smell it and I
throw
No.
Yeah. It's it's I think it's the
combination of
I have to get out of the house with a
jarring smell of the fridge
cuz like whenever I'm at home and like I
open my fridge like it's not a problem.
Like I can exist like oh whatever I'm
opening my fridge. Whenever I'm like I
have to leave right now let me just get
a water bottle. Oh my god it I literally
I have to sit down for like 20 minutes.
Is it like when you're rushing is maybe
your body's like I don't know like
pumping up your the heat in your body.
Or you're like having stress maybe.
Maybe it's
because when I'm like stressed and I'm
like rushing is when my heartburn is
here
and I don't know if it's like stress or
something that's like causing
Sure. It might be stress related.
I want to get in your fridge.
Come on in.
Cuz when when I hear another person
pregnant who's like I this didn't make
me feel well. It just reminds me of my
first trimester and I'm like I want to
help. I want to get in there. But I
don't know.
I just got to calm down. I just got to
calm down probably.
As an ally to pregnant people everywhere
as I think I've demonstrated today. If
you need me to do any smelly work around
your house, I am not discussed about it
all. But you wouldn't be able. So we
have superwoman powers.
Sure.
Okay. When we're pregnant,
you would have to identify it and then
send me in there is
our smell is like intense.
You're like Daredevil.
Yeah. Sometimes. Exactly. We're like
blind
daredevil and we're just basically like
what is that smell? And and anybody will
be like, "What are you talking about?"
Yeah. I sometimes have to like be like,
"Oh,
it's cuz I'm pregnant." Yeah. Other
people's smells bother me sometimes. My
my own smell. I'm like, "What?" I'm
like, "What is going
on?" Yep.
It sucks, Josh. It sucks.
Thank you for bearing the burden of the
human race. That sounded even creepier
than anything else I've said today. Um,
I thank you for your service.
Josh has my midyear review in about 35
minutes, so you better be nice to me.
Oh, I already did those. I already laid
down the law on that.
They're like, well, to improve, don't
get pregnant next year.
I'm just like, just put on deodorant
help. Don't get pregnant next year. I
hope not.
Looking forward. We would like to see
Is is your OB also talking to you about
Irish twins? Because mine is like,
you better be careful.
They don't use that as a medical term,
do they? No,
no, not not really. No, of course not.
My doctor's so chill.
My doctor's just like, "Just be
careful."
Really? No. I haven't had the sex talk
with my doctor.
No, I I had the birds and the bees talk.
Oh, no. I didn't.
Wait, what is what is their advice?
She basically people think when they
like after they give birth, if they're
breastfeeding or not breastfeeding or
whatever,
Yeah.
if they're producing milk that they
aren't fertile, but they are very
fertile. Very, very fertile. And people
can get pregnant right away.
So they're they're like, "Hey,
cool it."
They're like, "Just don't because
there's other ways to enjoy each other
physically."
Yeah. You know, and people do.
Have you tried heavy petting in a swan
boat on Silver Lake?
I haven't been on a swan boat in Echo
Park Lake in
You can't get on five minutes. You sure?
Mhm. Can I talk?
Josh does he have petty in Echo Park?
But I have really I have really tight
hips and so I don't think I can. They
start cramping and certain sucks.
One more, Maggie. Come on. One more.
One more. One more.
Update on the pickles. It is popular
with trans women because it's a side
effect of the drug speronolactone.
Spironolactone.
That one. That's what I said. And
according to Pink News, um it's a symbol
of trans rights.
Oh my god.
Pickles are a symbol of trans rights.
What? Who knew?
We've always been pro trans rights in
mythical kitchen and pro pickle.
I love that.
Yeah. Fun. That's amazing.
That's awesome. Thanks, Maggie.
What a trans guys grave.
Hey, Nicole Guacamole and Josh Goulash.
It's your boy Leighton.
We got to come up with one.
Congratulations, Nicole, on the
pregnancy. My wife and I are actually
expecting our first child later this
year.
And when setting up the registry, I came
across molds for breast milk popsicles
and had no idea that that existed. And
then that led me down the wrong rabbit
hole. And I learned that there are
places that serve breast milk in meals
like regions of Mongolia as well as some
avantgard chefs doing bizarre dining
experiences.
Oh, so yeah. What are your thoughts on
using human bodily fluids in cooking?
Bye.
Bye.
You guys want me to take this one or
I do you want to take this one?
I I We've cooked with breast milk
before.
I have very strong feelings.
We've cooked with breast milk before. We
made
It should be so normal. We made a
macaroni and cheese with breast milk one
time.
Whoa. And
yeah, it was fine.
Um Um What? I don't
We didn't get enough to make like the
whole cheese sauce. We didn't get like a
gallon of breast milk to make a
vegetable.
No, no, it was it was like a little bit.
So my thought is if it is no longer
viable for a baby to eat,
then yes, you can use it to cook or you
can give it to bodybuilders that'll pay
top dollar for it.
Yep.
collecting coloss like save colostrum. I
know colostrum's good.
Yeah. Yeah.
But um I think if the baby can no longer
consume it and if it's going to go to
the landfill or whatever,
it's going to go to waste.
Yeah. Give it to give it to someone who
can who can use it. Also, those popsicle
things. I like got that in like a a
breast pack or there's breast packs as
well.
But I thought that that was just for
like to put in your bottle to so it
stays cold.
Well, maybe it's dual. know if they're
actually like yum yum yum like
popsicles.
Oh, you're saying like freeze your
breast milk into breast milk. I So it'll
keep the
They give you the popsicle holders.
Is breast milk supposed to be served
cold?
No, no, no. But you're Yeah, but if you
want to keep it for a while, you freeze
it. But if you see what you're saying go
travel, you can put one of those cold
things in there. But God, what do I
know? I I haven't even had
I haven't I haven't dived into the
breastfeeding stuff really. So I don't
know yet. We don't know yet. me. We
don't know yet.
We I also diving in when you're
pregnant,
it's kind of like, well, you don't know.
I don't know. I have no I'm like I'm
doing all the research. My OB was like,
okay,
wait till you won't know until it
happens.
Oh my god.
You know, it's like a bodily fluid.
Sure. But it's like it's the food one.
You want You want a breast milk
popsicle?
A little bit, you know, but a little
saffron. The breast milk popsicle is Ian
from Smosh for sure. He has definitely
fine
talked about breast milk.
I think we just have to make a video for
the guys and just help them out.
It's weirder that we eat other animals
breast milk than it is that we would eat
human breast milk.
I agree.
That's the one point that the vegans
really have on us, you know, that we're
stealing the
there's colostrum from like cows that
they put in powder. People put in
Yeah.
If you're fine uh eating, you know,
drinking donkey milk, then you should be
fine drinking human milk.
There's like one Serbian cheese made
from donkey milk.
Peace out.
Peace out on that.
Put that.
We covered everything. Trans rice.
Donkey. Donkey cheese.
Wow.
Do you want me to?
Yeah, we do. Oh, there's an outro.
