You'll play and have a super day then mommy's coming back. Your daddy's coming back. 32:35
Your daddy's coming back. 32:41
You'll play and have a super day then daddy's coming back." 32:43

Let's look at the poster and read it. when I'm sad I can... 33:13
look at my family picture, hold a stuffed animal, 33:17
take a deep breath, draw a picture, 33:21
Ask for a hug, read a book, 33:25
look at our schedule, play with a friend, 33:28
Sing a song. 33:31
Hm. What do you think Sam will choose? 33:32
Let's keep reading and see. 33:35
Sam loves to draw. 33:38
Maybe drawing a picture will help him feel better. 33:40
He draws a picture of himself and his mommy and daddy holding hands. 33:43
Sam starts to smile! 33:50
he has an idea. 33:52
he will give his mommy and daddy the special picture! 33:54
Ms. smith give Sam an envelope to put the picture in. 33:57
Sam feels happy again! 34:01
Oh look he wrote dad, me, mom. 34:03

Sam has a great day playing with blocks, eating snack, 34:10
and dressing up like a firefighter! Wow, school is fun. 34:15
Hmm What do you think will happen next. 34:20
Oh look what happened. What do you see? 34:25

He gives his mommy and daddy a big hug and says, 34:41
"I was sad and I missed you. 34:44

I wanted to play blocks with Georgie, but he's busy today. 35:28
-It looks like you're feeling sad. -Yeah, I am sad but I'm not crying. 35:35
Earlier today I was crying. 35:41
You were? 35:50
-Today I woke up feeling kind of sad. -Oh 35:51
and before I knew it a storm was brewing 35:56
and raindrops started falling from my eyes. -Oh yeah 36:02
but I know that I'll feel better soon I always do because it's okay to cry 36:08
and it feels good to cry. 36:15
-It's okay. -Yeah I know that I'll feel better soon. I always do because it's okay to cry. 36:18

breathe and make a smart choice. We can always freeze and stop 38:31
when we're mad. 38:36

My smart choice is 45:02
I want help from a grown up. -Great choice. How could I help you? 45:05
You could hold it while I open the latch. 45:11
-Yeah, I'll hold the box steady while you open it. -Yeah -You thought of a solution! 45:14
Okay, Georgie, I'm holding it steady for you. -Okay. Here it goes. 45:22
-You did! -I did it! -Wow, you thought of a solution. -Yeah. 45:27

-It's little cheese. -Yeah, it's cheese. Yellow cheese. 46:07
let's see what's next. 46:14

Yeah, we draw with them. -Ms. Rachel, I like to draw. -Oh wow. 46:27
You know we can make a sun with a yellow crayon. -That's such a good idea. 46:32
It makes me happy to think about a yellow sun. -Oh, that's great Georgie. 46:37
Let's see what else we have here. What's this? 46:43
Oh, it's a comb 46:47
with a duck on it. 46:49
Yeah, it's a little yellow comb. What do we do with a comb? 46:50
We brush our hair. Good job Georgie. 46:55
Okay, let's see what else is inside. 47:01
Ah 47:04
ah 47:06
I'm actually feeling frustrated now because I can't get this out. 47:07
I feel frustrated. 47:11
-Ms. Rachel. -Uh huh. -You could take a deep breath. -Good idea 47:13
I feel better. 47:20
Maybe I'll turn it and it will be easier to get out. 47:22
-I did it! -You did it! -Wow, it's a little yellow 47:26
-duck -duck -squeak, squeak, quack, quack, quack, quack. 47:33

-They're all yellow. -Yeah, they're all yellow. Good job. 47:46
And they all make me feel happy. 47:51
That's great. Now let's count them. 47:54
One, two, three, four, five. 47:57
Wow and five is the number of the day. 48:04
This is the sign 48:10
for frustrated. 48:11
Frustrated 48:15
If I don't understand something and I can't figure it out, 48:19
I feel frustrated. 48:25
Frustrated. 48:29
Will you pretend to be a crab with me. 48:33
Okay, 48:38
let's try it. 48:39
I'm in a very bad mood. 48:43
I'm feeling like a crab. A crabby crab. 48:47
I'm in a terrible mood. 48:54
I don't know what to do. 48:58
I'm such a crab, 49:02
a crabby crab. 49:04
so I'll put one hand back, 49:08
one leg back, 49:12
do it again now I'm walking like a crabby crab. One hand back, 49:15
one leg back, 49:24
do it again now I'm walking like the crabby crabs do. 49:27
In my crabby crab mood 49:38
I have to walk it through 49:42
and breathe. 49:46
I know I'll feel better soon 49:50
pretending I'm a crab 49:54
in the ocean blue. 49:58
Yes, I'll put one hand back, 50:02
one leg back, 50:06
do it again now I'm walking like a crabby crab, One hand back, 50:09
one leg back, 50:17
do it again now I'm walking like the crabby crabs do. 50:20
Wow, I feel so much better. 50:29
Let's keep walking. 50:34
One hand back, 50:36
one leg back, 50:39
do it again now we're walking like the crabby crabs. One hand back, 50:42
one leg back, 50:50
do it again now we're walking like the crabby crabs do. 50:53
Walking like crabby crabs do. 51:04
ahh. 51:11
I feel so much better. 51:13
Hi friends, I'm Ms. Rachel's mom, Nana Zannah. I'm here today to talk about emotions. 51:22
Did you know that your emotions can be very small or they can be very big. 51:30
Like today I'm happy because I'm here with Ms. Rachel's friends. 51:37
But if Papa Tim came in 51:41
and brought me a surprise. 51:44
-Nana Zannah, here's a surprise for you. -Well then my happy gets even bigger 51:47
and then 51:54
if I opened up the box 51:55
and I saw that Papa Tim got my favorite chocolate cupcake 51:58
Well then my happy would get really, really big because I love chocolate cupcakes! 52:02
But then what do you think would happen if I dropped that cupcake? 52:10
then I would get mad. 52:16
And you have to be careful not to let your mad get too big. Let me show you. 52:19
So if I got mad and I dropped that cupcake and I said "oh no, I dropped my cupcake", 52:25
and then I start to get mad 52:35
and I keep thinking about that cupcake. 'I am so mad. 52:37
I really wanted to eat that cupcake.' 52:40
Then my mad gets a little bigger. 52:47
And then I stamp my feet and think 'I really wanted that cupcake. 52:49
And now it's all dirty and I can't eat it.' 52:59
And then you're mad gets bigger and bigger. 53:04
And if you're not careful that mad could get so big that it would pop. 53:06
So then we have to try and get that mad smaller. 53:12
Can you think of ways to get your mad smaller? 53:16
Take a breath. That's a good idea. Let's try that. It's working the mad got smaller. 53:20
Any other ideas? 53:31
Count to 5. On 53:32
two, three 53:36
four, five. The mad got smaller again. Does anybody else have any ideas? 53:38
Think happy thoughts. I like that. Let's try that. 53:47
It was really nice of Papa Tim to bring me a cupcake. He loves me so much and I love him. 53:51
And I love surprises. 53:56
And I'll have another surprise. 53:58
Look now the mad's all gone. It worked! 54:00
We took a breath, 54:04
We counted to five, 54:05
and we had happy thoughts. 54:07
And then we made our mad smaller and smaller. 54:09
That's a good idea. 54:13
So you remember that if your mad gets too big, take your breath, 54:14
count to five and think happy thoughts. Bye everybody! 54:19
Look friends. It's the big feelings pineapple. Can you say 'hi pineapple?' 54:29
Hi pineapple. Hi friends! 54:37
How do you think pineapple is feeling? 54:41
Yeah, I see a smile. I think pineapple is feeling happy. -Yes, I am happy. 54:47
I'm happy because I'm here with my friends. 54:58
Guess what it's time for? Our magic movie. 55:07
We all have emotions. 55:13
Some emotions are happy, 55:15
sad, 55:19
mad, 55:23
scared, 55:25
surprised 55:30
and frustrated. 55:33
It's okay to have big feelings. 55:37
It's normal, but we need to have tools that help us handle our big feelings. 55:40
What helps you feel better when you have big feelings? 55:46
Some people feel better when they take a deep breath, 55:51
Ask for a break, 55:55
drink water, 55:58
exercise, 56:00
Play with a sensory toy. 56:02
Ask a grown up for help, 56:05
Talk about their feelings, 56:08
Get a big hug. 56:10
How do you feel right now? 56:12
I feel happy because I'm spending time with you. 56:15
Let's do some big feelings affirmations together. 56:26
I can stop. 56:32
I can take a deep breath. 56:36
I can make a smart choice. 56:40
It's no big deal 56:45
I can do this. 56:48
I can handle challenges. 56:53
I can do hard things. 56:56
It's just a small problem. 733 00:57:05,050 -->00:57:07,750 Feelings come and feelings go. 57:01
I can ask for help. 57:09
I'll feel better soon. 57:13
Everything will be okay. 57:17
I'm okay. 57:20
You did it. Great job. 57:25
This is the sign for sad. 57:31
Sad 57:36
When I fall and hurt myself, 57:40
I feel sad. 57:44
Sad. 57:48
The shape of the day is a 57:50
heart. Good job. Let's try and make our own heart. 57:55
Yeah. 58:03
When I was a little girl, my mom Nana Zannah 58:07
taught me how to make a heart. 58:10
You take a piece of paper, fold it 58:13
like this. 58:17
Then 58:20
you draw this shape. 58:21
Oh wow, that doesn't look like a heart yet. 58:25
Hmm 58:28
We have to use scissors. Remember only use scissors with a grownup's Help. 58:30
Okay, I cut it out, 58:43
but it still doesn't look like a heart. Can you help me say open? 58:45
And maybe it will open and turn into a heart. 58:50
Say open 58:54
open. 58:56
We need to say it louder. Say open. 58:59
open! 59:03
it's a heart 59:07
Wonderful! A heart can represent love. 59:08
Love is when you really, really, really care about somebody. 59:13
You want to make them happy and you want to keep them safe. You love them. 59:18
I love you and you're grown ups love you so much. 59:24
Hmm 59:31
I think I'll decorate my heart with some feelings faces. 59:32
Oops, I messed up a little bit. I wanted to do a circle. 59:39
I feel frustrated 59:43
and mad. 59:45
Oh, I need to take a deep breath. 59:47
I feel better. 59:52
Maybe I could make a smart choice. 59:54
Hmm. 59:56
I think the smart choice is 59:59
figuring out how to change it into something else. 00:01
Oh, like I made a circle now and maybe I'll make this 00:04
a hat. 00:09
That's pretty cool. 00:10
And then I'll make a happy face. 00:12
Oh, 00:15
I like how that turned out. Happy! 00:16
Now I think I'll make a sad face. 00:21
Two eyes 00:24
and a frown, aw 00:26
and maybe a tear? 00:29
because sometimes when you're sad, you cry. 00:31
Scared 00:43
Surprised! 00:49
Mad 00:56
I like my heart. 00:59
I'm so happy now. I'm happy that I made something. 01:01
It feels good to make things. I'm happy. 01:05
The more we get together, together, together. The more we get together, 01:14
the happier we'll be. Cause your friends are 01:21
my friends and my friends are your friends. 01:26
The more we get together, the happier we'll be. 01:29
The more we get together, together, together, the more we get together, 01:39
the happier we'll be. Cause your friends are 01:48
my friends and my friends are your friends. 01:52
The more we get together the happier we'll be. 01:55

even though it's really fun to be silly. 02:59
Yeah, I feel better. 03:03
Still silly, but not too silly. 03:07
Can you make a silly face? 03:10

I'm mad because doggy took my ball. 08:26
Good job telling us why you're mad. 08:37
Hmm How do you think we could help you? 08:40
Could you tell doggy that that's my ball? 08:43
Yes, that's a good idea. 08:46
You took a deep breath, 08:49
You felt more calm, 08:51
and then you were able to tell us how to help. 08:53
-Woof woof -Hey doggy, 08:58

Thank you. 09:18
Um actually, I have an idea of how I could feel better. 09:19
How? 09:24
I could play ball with doggy. 09:26
That's such a great idea. Sharing makes us feel good 09:29
and playing with friends makes us feel good. 09:33
Yay! 09:36
Oh wow! 09:38
Your frown is starting to turn into a smile. Yay! 09:40
sharing makes us happy 09:45
and talking about our feelings makes us feel better. 09:49

Yay, sharing is fun. 09:59
And playing ball is very fun. Woo! That's so fun. 10:03
Whoa! Happy friends! Yay Doggy's clapping. Everyone's so happy now. 10:08
This is the sign for mad. 10:17
Mad 10:22
if someone takes my toy, 10:25
I feel mad. 10:27
Mad. Here are some other tricks that can help us with deep breaths. 10:31
We can do breaths with our five fingers. 10:38
Good job. We can also do alligator breaths. Be an alligator with me. 10:55
Great work! Ready to learn how to write the letter E? 11:10
Now take your red marker and make a dot 11:19
in between your dashed line 11:23
and your bottom line. That's where we're going to begin our E. 11:25
Make sure you think about an E Like a cinnamon swirl. 11:31
We're going to go 11:36
make a small line across and around 11:38
small line across and around. 11:43
Let's try to make that E a lower case E with our pencil 11:47
all the way across. 11:53
Small line out and around. 11:55
Nice job. Now let's see if we can make our E in rainbow sand salt. Are you ready? 12:04
Let's go. 12:11
One, two 12:25

fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, 13:00
eighteen, 13:10
nineteen, twenty. 13:12
Hey! Where all of my confident kids? 13:19
Wave your hands high so I can see you. 13:22
Today, 13:28
We are going to learn an important emotion. 13:29
Called confidence. 13:33
With my very confident friend, 13:36
Cody the coder. 13:40
A confident person walks with their head held high. They wear a smile on the inside 13:42
And the outside. 13:50
Confidence means believing in yourself. 13:53
It means 13:57
your inner voice is always saying 13:58
'you can do it!' 14:01
You are your own cheerleader. 14:03
Go me! 14:07
Go me! 14:09

I'm scared of that noise. 15:49
Oh, that noise outside? 15:58
Yeah 16:00
it's just a loud truck passing by. 16:02
It's just a truck. 16:05
Yeah, 16:07
loud sounds are no big deal. They can't hurt us. 16:08
Okay 16:12
Can you think of any way we could help you with a loud sound? 16:13
Well, I feel a little better now that I know it's no big deal and it can't hurt me. 16:19
Good. 16:24
Um 16:26
-maybe we could put on some music? -Yeah, if we put on some music it won't be as loud. 16:27
-Thanks. Or I could also wear headphones? -That's a good idea. 16:34
When you take a deep breath, you get so many good ideas because your brain is calm. 16:40
Your brain works the best when it's calm and it can 16:47
figure out what you need to do to feel better. 16:50
Okay, let's put on the music. 16:54
We put on the music and I think pineapple is starting to feel better. 16:58
I am starting to feel better. 17:06
Loud sounds are no big deal. Yeah, and it wasn't a big problem. 17:09
It was just a little problem. -Just a little problem. 17:14
A little problem that we could solve with some music. -Yay! I feel happy. I like music 17:17

You might feel like a volcano that wants to erupt
mad can be a difficult feeling.
But if we have tools to handle it,
we'll be okay.
Hmm. Tell me about this picture.

Her arms are crossed like this and her eyebrows are like this. She's not smiling.
I think she feels
mad. Yeah, I think she feels mad,
but she'll feel better soon.
Feelings come
and feelings go.
Why are these children mad?

We did it. We took deep breaths together. Try this with me.
Put your hands on your belly

Excited finger, excited finger. Where are you? Here I am, here I am. How do you do?
All the fingers, All the fingers. Where are you? Here I am, here I am. How do you do?
I'm so happy.
Bye bye.
Why is the little boy sad?
Yeah,
he wants to play baseball but it's raining.
What does sad look like? Can you make a sad face?
Aw.
Yeah, when we feel sad we might have a
frown and we might be crying. Can you pretend to cry?
Your body might be hunched over or curled up in a ball.
What do you notice about this picture?
Yeah, the little boy is sad. He has a
frown and he's crying.
How could we help him feel better? Hmm. Maybe saying "it's okay!"
Maybe patting his back
or getting a grown up to help.
It's nice when we can help our friends feel better. That's being a good friend.
We can also say what's wrong?
And maybe we can help. Yeah, you're a great helper.
We're waving. We're waving. We're waving, waving, waving. We're waving. We're waving.
We're waving now we stop.
Did you stop? Good job! Let's try clapping.
We're clapping. We're clapping. We're clapping, clapping, clapping.
We're clapping. We're clapping. We're clapping now we stop.
Let's try twisting.
We're twisting. We're twisting. We're twisting, twisting, twisting.
We're twisting. We're twisting. We're twisting now we stop.
Good job. Hmm, Should we try jumping?
Let's do it. We're jumping. We're jumping. We're jumping, jumping, jumping.
We're jumping. We're jumping. We're jumping now we stop.
That was so much fun. Great job.
Let's read a book about another boy who feels sad.
Hmm.
I wonder what he'll do to feel better.
Sam feels sad at school.
Sam is at school.
Sam feels sad.
He misses his mommy and daddy!
He tells his teacher, Ms. Smith,
"I feel sad.
I miss my mommy and daddy."
Ms. Smith says, "Your mommy and daddy will come back to pick you up."
She sings a little song:
"Your mommy's coming back. Your mommy's coming back.
You'll play and have a super day then mommy's coming back. Your daddy's coming back.
Your daddy's coming back.
You'll play and have a super day then daddy's coming back."
Hm. Do you think Sam feels better?
No. look at his face. He still looks sad.
Let's keep reading.
Sam still feels sad. He wants his mommy and daddy here now!
Ms. Smith brings over a special poster.
It has all kinds of ideas for what to do when you're feeling sad.
Let's look at the poster and read it. when I'm sad I can...
look at my family picture, hold a stuffed animal,
take a deep breath, draw a picture,
Ask for a hug, read a book,
look at our schedule, play with a friend,
Sing a song.
Hm. What do you think Sam will choose?
Let's keep reading and see.
Sam loves to draw.
Maybe drawing a picture will help him feel better.
He draws a picture of himself and his mommy and daddy holding hands.
Sam starts to smile!
he has an idea.
he will give his mommy and daddy the special picture!
Ms. smith give Sam an envelope to put the picture in.
Sam feels happy again!
Oh look he wrote dad, me, mom.
that's a nice picture.
Sam has a great day playing with blocks, eating snack,
and dressing up like a firefighter! Wow, school is fun.
Hmm What do you think will happen next.
Oh look what happened. What do you see?
Yeah, his mommy and daddy came back! let's keep reading
Soon Sam's mom and dad come to the door.
they are here to pick him up!
He gives his mommy and daddy a big hug and says,
"I was sad and I missed you.
But then I had fun at school!"
The End.
What did Sam do to feel better?
Yes. He drew a picture of his family!
And his mommy and daddy came back to pick him up.
Just like the people who love you always come back to pick you up!
-Herbie, What's wrong? -Hi Jules.
I wanted to play blocks with Georgie, but he's busy today.
-It looks like you're feeling sad. -Yeah, I am sad but I'm not crying.
Earlier today I was crying.
You were?
-Today I woke up feeling kind of sad. -Oh
and before I knew it a storm was brewing
and raindrops started falling from my eyes. -Oh yeah
but I know that I'll feel better soon I always do because it's okay to cry
and it feels good to cry.
-It's okay. -Yeah I know that I'll feel better soon. I always do because it's okay to cry.
-It's okay sometimes to cry. -Sometimes when I cry I want a hug. -Me too.
But sometimes when I cry I don't want to be touched. So I appreciate you asking.
I appreciate you letting me take my time
because it's okay to cry and it feels good to cry. -Yeah.
Yeah, I know that I'll feel better soon. I always do because it's okay to cry.
It feels good to cry. Yeah I know that I'll feel better soon. I always do because
it's okay to cry.
Hey Herbie, Do you want a hug?
Yeah
it's okay to feel sad and it's okay to cry.
We all feel sad sometimes but it doesn't last forever.
Feelings change and we can do something to feel better.
Like when Sam drew a picture.
What makes you feel better when you feel sad?
I like to talk about how I feel and get a hug from someone I love.
-Hey Herbie. -Yeah -let's do a little freeze dance. -Okay, let's do it.
-Can you dance with us? -Yeah, let's dance!
Let's dance. Dance
Freeze.
Dance.
Freeze.
-That was so fun. -It was Funny. You did a funny pose when you froze.
I did! You know when we dance
and freeze,
It's just like when we get mad we can stop,
breathe and make a smart choice. We can always freeze and stop
when we're mad.
Yeah, and we can dance if we're mad too.
You know that might help sometimes exercise running
or dancing really helps when you're mad.
Let's dance right now.
Yeah
Freeze.
Now let's run.
Freeze.
I'm really happy having fun with you Herbie.
Why are these children excited?
Yeah, they're excited to go on the water slide.
Hi friends,
my name is Erin.
I'm hard of hearing
and I have two hearing aids.
Today,
I'm going to show you sign language.
Let's try signing the emotions together.
Ready?
Let's go. This is the sign for happy.
Happy
when I hang out with my friends.
I feel happy
happy.
Ms. Rachel,
remind me,
what do I do when I'm feeling mad?
Stop, breathe slowly in and out. Stop breathe slowly there's no need to shout.
You can make a smart choice. Feelings come and go.
You'll feel better soon.
Start by breathing slow.
Oh yeah.
Why is the little boy frustrated?
Yeah, He put his shirt on backwards. It can be hard to get dressed all by yourself.
Maybe he can ask for a little help.
What does frustrated look like?
Oh you look frustrated.
This is how I look when I'm frustrated.
Sometimes we feel frustrated when we want to do something but we can't do it.
I feel frustrated because
I can't reach this apple and I really want it.
Hmm I need to stop, take a deep breath and make a smart choice. Okay, first I stop.
Then I take a deep breath.
I'm starting to feel better.
Hmm, now I need to make a smart choice.
The smart choice I'm going to make is I'm going to ask for some help.
Can I get some help with this apple please?
Oh
thank you! A ladder. I climb the pretend ladder.
Can you help me climb? Pretend to climb a ladder.
and now I can reach the apple. Pick the apple with me. We did it.
Can you pretend to take a bite?
yummy apple!
I'm so glad I asked for help. Let's practice asking for help.
I
need
help.
Or
I
want help please.
Help
Tell me about this picture.
Yeah, his arms are up like this
and his teeth are clenched.
His mouth looks like this.
He feels
frustrated. He feels frustrated.
I'm so frustrated. I need help.
A B C D E F G

-Georgie, you sound frustrated. -I'm so frustrated, I can't get this open.
I hear that you're frustrated because you can't get it open.
It's okay to be frustrated.
But
let's stop,
breathe,
and make a smart choice. -Okay,
I'll stop,
breathe,
and make a smart choice.
My smart choice is
I want help from a grown up. -Great choice. How could I help you?
You could hold it while I open the latch.
-Yeah, I'll hold the box steady while you open it. -Yeah -You thought of a solution!
Okay, Georgie, I'm holding it steady for you. -Okay. Here it goes.
-You did! -I did it! -Wow, you thought of a solution. -Yeah.
-Now let's see what's inside. -Oh Yeah, let's see. -What color is that?
Yeah, it's yellow.
-Should we see what's inside? -Yeah, let's see what's inside. -Okay, say open.
Open.
Wow!
What's that?
Yeah, it's yellow corn. -Yeah, corn is yellow.
Let's see what else is inside.
Do you know what this is?
Sometimes you put it on a sandwich
or eat it with a cracker.
-It's little cheese. -Yeah, it's cheese. Yellow cheese.
let's see what's next.
What's that? Yeah, it's a crayon. What do we do with crayons?
Yeah, we draw with them. -Ms. Rachel, I like to draw. -Oh wow.
You know we can make a sun with a yellow crayon. -That's such a good idea.
It makes me happy to think about a yellow sun. -Oh, that's great Georgie.
Let's see what else we have here. What's this?
Oh, it's a comb
with a duck on it.
Yeah, it's a little yellow comb. What do we do with a comb?
We brush our hair. Good job Georgie.
Okay, let's see what else is inside.
Ah
ah
I'm actually feeling frustrated now because I can't get this out.
I feel frustrated.
-Ms. Rachel. -Uh huh. -You could take a deep breath. -Good idea
I feel better.
Maybe I'll turn it and it will be easier to get out.
-I did it! -You did it! -Wow, it's a little yellow
-duck -duck -squeak, squeak, quack, quack, quack, quack.
wow. What do all of our objects have in common?
Yeah, Georgie?
-They're all yellow. -Yeah, they're all yellow. Good job.
And they all make me feel happy.
That's great. Now let's count them.
One, two, three, four, five.
Wow and five is the number of the day.
This is the sign
for frustrated.
Frustrated
If I don't understand something and I can't figure it out,
I feel frustrated.
Frustrated.
Will you pretend to be a crab with me.
Okay,
let's try it.
I'm in a very bad mood.
I'm feeling like a crab. A crabby crab.
I'm in a terrible mood.
I don't know what to do.
I'm such a crab,
a crabby crab.
so I'll put one hand back,
one leg back,
do it again now I'm walking like a crabby crab. One hand back,
one leg back,
do it again now I'm walking like the crabby crabs do.
In my crabby crab mood
I have to walk it through
and breathe.
I know I'll feel better soon
pretending I'm a crab
in the ocean blue.
Yes, I'll put one hand back,
one leg back,
do it again now I'm walking like a crabby crab, One hand back,
one leg back,
do it again now I'm walking like the crabby crabs do.
Wow, I feel so much better.
Let's keep walking.
One hand back,
one leg back,
do it again now we're walking like the crabby crabs. One hand back,
one leg back,
do it again now we're walking like the crabby crabs do.
Walking like crabby crabs do.
ahh.
I feel so much better.
Hi friends, I'm Ms. Rachel's mom, Nana Zannah. I'm here today to talk about emotions.
Did you know that your emotions can be very small or they can be very big.
Like today I'm happy because I'm here with Ms. Rachel's friends.
But if Papa Tim came in
and brought me a surprise.
-Nana Zannah, here's a surprise for you. -Well then my happy gets even bigger
and then
if I opened up the box
and I saw that Papa Tim got my favorite chocolate cupcake
Well then my happy would get really, really big because I love chocolate cupcakes!
But then what do you think would happen if I dropped that cupcake?
then I would get mad.
And you have to be careful not to let your mad get too big. Let me show you.
So if I got mad and I dropped that cupcake and I said "oh no, I dropped my cupcake",
and then I start to get mad
and I keep thinking about that cupcake. 'I am so mad.
I really wanted to eat that cupcake.'
Then my mad gets a little bigger.
And then I stamp my feet and think 'I really wanted that cupcake.
And now it's all dirty and I can't eat it.'
And then you're mad gets bigger and bigger.
And if you're not careful that mad could get so big that it would pop.
So then we have to try and get that mad smaller.
Can you think of ways to get your mad smaller?
Take a breath. That's a good idea. Let's try that. It's working the mad got smaller.
Any other ideas?
Count to 5. On
two, three
four, five. The mad got smaller again. Does anybody else have any ideas?
Think happy thoughts. I like that. Let's try that.
It was really nice of Papa Tim to bring me a cupcake. He loves me so much and I love him.
And I love surprises.
And I'll have another surprise.
Look now the mad's all gone. It worked!
We took a breath,
We counted to five,
and we had happy thoughts.
And then we made our mad smaller and smaller.
That's a good idea.
So you remember that if your mad gets too big, take your breath,
count to five and think happy thoughts. Bye everybody!
Look friends. It's the big feelings pineapple. Can you say 'hi pineapple?'
Hi pineapple. Hi friends!
How do you think pineapple is feeling?
Yeah, I see a smile. I think pineapple is feeling happy. -Yes, I am happy.
I'm happy because I'm here with my friends.
Guess what it's time for? Our magic movie.
We all have emotions.
Some emotions are happy,
sad,
mad,
scared,
surprised
and frustrated.
It's okay to have big feelings.
It's normal, but we need to have tools that help us handle our big feelings.
What helps you feel better when you have big feelings?
Some people feel better when they take a deep breath,
Ask for a break,
drink water,
exercise,
Play with a sensory toy.
Ask a grown up for help,
Talk about their feelings,
Get a big hug.
How do you feel right now?
I feel happy because I'm spending time with you.
Let's do some big feelings affirmations together.
I can stop.
I can take a deep breath.
I can make a smart choice.
It's no big deal
I can do this.
I can handle challenges.
I can do hard things.
It's just a small problem. 733 00:57:05,050 -->00:57:07,750 Feelings come and feelings go.
I can ask for help.
I'll feel better soon.
Everything will be okay.
I'm okay.
You did it. Great job.
This is the sign for sad.
Sad
When I fall and hurt myself,
I feel sad.
Sad.
The shape of the day is a
heart. Good job. Let's try and make our own heart.
Yeah.
When I was a little girl, my mom Nana Zannah
taught me how to make a heart.
You take a piece of paper, fold it
like this.
Then
you draw this shape.
Oh wow, that doesn't look like a heart yet.
Hmm
We have to use scissors. Remember only use scissors with a grownup's Help.
Okay, I cut it out,
but it still doesn't look like a heart. Can you help me say open?
And maybe it will open and turn into a heart.
Say open
open.
We need to say it louder. Say open.
open!
it's a heart
Wonderful! A heart can represent love.
Love is when you really, really, really care about somebody.
You want to make them happy and you want to keep them safe. You love them.
I love you and you're grown ups love you so much.
Hmm
I think I'll decorate my heart with some feelings faces.
Oops, I messed up a little bit. I wanted to do a circle.
I feel frustrated
and mad.
Oh, I need to take a deep breath.
I feel better.
Maybe I could make a smart choice.
Hmm.
I think the smart choice is
figuring out how to change it into something else.
Oh, like I made a circle now and maybe I'll make this
a hat.
That's pretty cool.
And then I'll make a happy face.
Oh,
I like how that turned out. Happy!
Now I think I'll make a sad face.
Two eyes
and a frown, aw
and maybe a tear?
because sometimes when you're sad, you cry.
Scared
Surprised!
Mad
I like my heart.
I'm so happy now. I'm happy that I made something.
It feels good to make things. I'm happy.
The more we get together, together, together. The more we get together,
the happier we'll be. Cause your friends are
my friends and my friends are your friends.
The more we get together, the happier we'll be.
The more we get together, together, together, the more we get together,
the happier we'll be. Cause your friends are
my friends and my friends are your friends.
The more we get together the happier we'll be.
That's so silly. How do you think pineapple is feeling now?
Yeah. Animals feeling silly.
I feel so silly.
I feel so silly. Do do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do,
do, do, do, do, do, do, do do. Yeah, I feel so silly today.
Do do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, That's such a silly dance pineapple. Yeah, I feel silly! Wow.
If you get a little too silly, sometimes you might need to stop and take a deep breath
even though it's really fun to be silly.
Yeah, I feel better.
Still silly, but not too silly.
Can you make a silly face?
So silly.
This is the sign for surprised.
Surprised
If someone gives me a gift.
I feel surprised.
Surprised.
If you should meet an elephant upon a summer's day, what would you do?
And what would you say? Say 'good morning elephant, How do you do?
Lovely morning elephant. Now, may I dance with you?'
Traa la la la la la la la la la la la la la la
Traa la la la la la la la la la la la la la
Traa la la la la la la la la la la la la la
la la la la la la la la la la la la!
-Ms. Rachel -Yeah? -I thought of more things that make me happy. -Wow. Great.
Black beans, kidney beans, soy beans, garbanzo beans, navy beans, fava beans,
kelly beans, pinto beans, counting beans,
playing with beans, drawing beans.
-That's Silly Herbie -Beans are fun.
Can you pretend to be a clock with me?
Tick tock tick tock. I'm a little cuckoo clock. Tick tock, tick tock.
Now I'm striking one o'clock.
cuckoo.
Tick tock tick tock. I'm a little cuckoo clock. Tick tock. Tick tock.
Now I'm striking two o'clock,
cuckoo
cuckoo
Tick tock tick tock. I'm a little cuckoo clock tick tock. Tick tock.
Now I'm striking three o'clock.
cuckoo
cuckoo
cuckoo. Great job.

We're learning all about the letter E and E says "Eh".

And that's our second vowel.
E says "Eh", can you put your fingers around your mouth like me? "Eh"
Good work. Do you want to play a game with me? Let's play, What could it be?
I'll describe it. You guess it ready? Here we go.
It's something small and white and oval.
You eat it during breakfast and it has a yellow inside. Hmm.
Can you guess what it is? That's right. An egg. Egg starts with "Eh".
Good work.
Let's play again.

I'm so mad.
It's okay to be mad.
But,
maybe we can help you feel better.
I feel a little better after taking a deep breath.
Good.
Maybe we can help you if you tell us why you're mad.
I'm mad because doggy took my ball.
Good job telling us why you're mad.
Hmm How do you think we could help you?
Could you tell doggy that that's my ball?
Yes, that's a good idea.
You took a deep breath,
You felt more calm,
and then you were able to tell us how to help.
-Woof woof -Hey doggy,
that's pineapple special pink ball. Can I get you a different ball?
Sure!
Oh, yay! Thank you so much for understanding.
Let me get you a different ball.
Here's a different ball you can use.
Thank you.
Um actually, I have an idea of how I could feel better.
How?
I could play ball with doggy.
That's such a great idea. Sharing makes us feel good
and playing with friends makes us feel good.
Yay!
Oh wow!
Your frown is starting to turn into a smile. Yay!
sharing makes us happy
and talking about our feelings makes us feel better.
Woof! Now, I'm happy too.
Yay, sharing is fun.
And playing ball is very fun. Woo! That's so fun.
Whoa! Happy friends! Yay Doggy's clapping. Everyone's so happy now.
This is the sign for mad.
Mad
if someone takes my toy,
I feel mad.
Mad. Here are some other tricks that can help us with deep breaths.
We can do breaths with our five fingers.
Good job. We can also do alligator breaths. Be an alligator with me.
Great work! Ready to learn how to write the letter E?
Now take your red marker and make a dot
in between your dashed line
and your bottom line. That's where we're going to begin our E.
Make sure you think about an E Like a cinnamon swirl.
We're going to go
make a small line across and around
small line across and around.
Let's try to make that E a lower case E with our pencil
all the way across.
Small line out and around.
Nice job. Now let's see if we can make our E in rainbow sand salt. Are you ready?
Let's go.
One, two

Hey! Where all of my confident kids?
Wave your hands high so I can see you.
Today,
We are going to learn an important emotion.
Called confidence.
With my very confident friend,
Cody the coder.
A confident person walks with their head held high. They wear a smile on the inside
And the outside.
Confidence means believing in yourself.
It means
your inner voice is always saying
'you can do it!'
You are your own cheerleader.
Go me!
Go me!
Here I go!
Say it with me.
Go me.
Go me.
Here I go.
I am confident

Pineapple is shaking a little bit.
Yeah, I think pineapple might be scared too. Let's see if we can help.
Pineapple.
What's wrong?
I'm scared of the noise!
Boom.
It's kind of too loud.
I'm scared.
I hear that you're feeling scared.
It's okay to feel scared,
but let's see if we can help you.
Taking a deep breath might help.
I still feel scared.
I'm scared of that noise.
Oh, that noise outside?
Yeah
it's just a loud truck passing by.
It's just a truck.
Yeah,
loud sounds are no big deal. They can't hurt us.
Okay
Can you think of any way we could help you with a loud sound?
Well, I feel a little better now that I know it's no big deal and it can't hurt me.
Good.
Um
-maybe we could put on some music? -Yeah, if we put on some music it won't be as loud.
-Thanks. Or I could also wear headphones? -That's a good idea.
When you take a deep breath, you get so many good ideas because your brain is calm.
Your brain works the best when it's calm and it can
figure out what you need to do to feel better.
Okay, let's put on the music.
We put on the music and I think pineapple is starting to feel better.
I am starting to feel better.
Loud sounds are no big deal. Yeah, and it wasn't a big problem.
It was just a little problem. -Just a little problem.
A little problem that we could solve with some music. -Yay! I feel happy. I like music

wow!
y'all did so good, awesome job at following directions. Okay, bye bye!
Wow! I'm so proud of you for learning all about emotions today!
You learned the names of different emotions,
and you learned how to handle really big feelings!
You also learned that feelings change! They come and go!
And if you feel upset... you'll be okay again!
You are so smart, wonderful and important! You're an amazing kid!
Let's learn together again soon!
-Bye friends! -Bye everybody!
