Key Grammar Structures

  ➔ Simple Present Tense

  ➔ The simple present tense is used to express general truths, habits, or facts. Here, it expresses the subject's perceived (or self-proclaimed) knowledge: "you think you *know* it all."

• But ya *don't know* a thing at all

  ➔ Negative Simple Present Tense

  ➔ This is the negative form of the simple present tense, using "do/does not" + verb. It indicates a lack of knowledge: "you *don't know* a thing at all."

• When somebody *tells* you something 'bout you

  ➔ Third-person singular Simple Present

  ➔ When the subject is third-person singular (somebody), the verb in the simple present tense takes an '-s' ending: "somebody *tells*".

  ➔ Comparative Adverb

  ➔ "More" is the comparative form of "much," used to indicate a greater degree of something. Here, it shows that they claim to *know* you to a greater extent.

  ➔ The infinitive form "to swallow" is used to express the purpose of the action: another pill exists *to be swallowed*.

  ➔ Present Continuous Tense (informal)
